Very Sexy (2007)

The first time that I got this fragrance, it was in a tiny bottle in the old packaging as part of a birthday gift. It was different from my usual daytime spring floral scents. When you first spray it, the scent is strong, rich, and sensual. It was out of character for me, and I'd initially planned to stop using it after I finished the bottle. But then I started getting compliments... from the guy I was dating at the time, from strangers, and from friends. It ended up becoming my signature scent. People associated this perfume with me. I didn't learn to fully appreciate the fragrance until I ended up purchasing it for myself, though by then, the packaging had changed, and I'd opted for the body mist instead of the eau de parfum. Repurchasing this scent was one of the best fragrance decisions I've ever made. First of all, the smell is very VERY distinct. I've yet to come across another perfume that I could maybe confuse for this. Secondly, this is much more complex than I give it credit for. While it starts out smelling deep and spicy, the dry down is incredibly flowery and pleasant. To this day, I still get compliments from strangers--both men and women.

The quintessential date night perfume. Nothing tops the sexiness of this fragrance, in my book. Truly a beautiful perfume. I don’t see how anyone could smell this and interpret anything but sex kitten. I bought this perfume when I started my first job ever at Victoria’s Secret. Despite hating that job with a loathing that exudes beyond known language, this perfume cannot be tarnished. Timeless and elegant. The easiest date night reach!! PS - has this been reformulated? I know the changed the bottle, but why 2 fragrantica pages? That’s a shame, if so. Waiting for the day a reformulation helps instead of hurts a fragrance... why is it always the iconic ones?

I completley agree that this smells like rougeberry by Body Shop, except that this one is more complex and much more well thought out. The lasting power is much better too. This opens with a very dry berry smell, it's extremely woodsy and has just a hint of coffee. I'm not sure it's "Sexy" as such but..it's still good. It's quite interesting really, It's if you combined pencil shavings with berries and added a sprinkle of pepper. It stays quite dry smelling throughout the drydown. It's spicy but not OVERLY spicy...the berries keep the pepper under control. I like!

Very Sexy- Exactly the words that will come out of ur mouth after smelling this one. In fact it's divine. Just smelt it for the first time recently, believe it or not, and was instantly captivated. I love this scent, it's exactly what perfume should smell like (@ least the ones I like) intense but fresh, dark, sweet and very- very actually super sexy. The perfume is also very long lasting, get one whiff of ur clothes at the end of the day after wearing Very Sexy and the scent is still as alluring and unwavering as when u just sprayed it on. A++

I had forgotten how much I really loved this one! The first version of this came out when I was on high school. And at that time, i was more into the "HOT" version. Now that I am a bit older, this one suits me much better. Very sexy smells of tea/herbal notes and berries to me, but not sweet berries. This is a very calming scent. Almost "zen" like. The lasting power and silliage arent that great, but I dont care because I will keep spraying! I do get quite a few compliments, but mostly from women on this one :)

Oh VS bring this one back. I had a small version of it then my sister bought me Very sexy for her (reformulated one) and I was wondering why it did not smell on me as good as before. I couldn't wait to get rid of it. I can see, thanks to Fragrantica the difference in two and wish this one was still in the game. It lasted long, and many people complimented me on this one. As sexy as it gets! Mmm

I wear the dupe oil for this from Hayward Enterprises. I actually like the dupe better than the actual thing, which I also have. The dupe is so strong on me. I wore it to work last week and a co worker asked me if I bathed in perfume. Clearly, this lasts on me. This is a lovely smell that lasts a long time. If you are ready for something new, this is a good blind buy. Has been a keeper for me.

Lovely scent! It is really sexy but not in an offensive way. Hardness or sweetness are not what it seduces with! It works with the clean floral notes and CHERRY. I'm confused for I don't see that ingredient in the pyramide but I'd describe it as a perfect cherry scent as a genuine black cherry can smell. *Very Sexy* is easily wearable,, although I'd prefer it for special occasions.

Ohh I just opened the newly purchased bottle and while in my pyjamas, had to test it. So divine I keep smelling my wrists! Opening notes are vanilla and blackberry but it settles down into peppery, musky, Amber like concoction. It has been a decade since I had it and even opening the box it brought back all the memories. Can’t wait to try it in a male company ;)

I have to admit I wear this one most out of my collection for daytime wear. It lasts all day long on my skin for a body mist. It starts out a little spicy on first spray but then morphs into a lovely scent I just can't seem to get enough of! Will def. have to try out more of Victoria's Secret scents!

This is the best VS perfume ever. I love it, really love it. For me, if dream has a smell, it will be smell like this. Sexy, soft and musky but unique. Even tho it doesn’t long last on my skin but I still love it. The new Very Sexy still have the same DNA but it doesn’t better than this one.

One of my favorite perfumes of all time! It's fragrance doesn't change on me. I don't get floral notes, just a musky pepper that I find intoxicating. I've had more compliments from this on me than any other perfume. I think it's perfect for all seasons.

I really like this fragrance. It makes me feel sexy and confident. Its not at all like most fragrances that seem to be on the market that are fruity floral cotton candy types. Those types smell awful on me. Love the peppery orchid notes.

THIS IS MY FAV PERFUME EVER. Ive been through at least 4 bottles of it. I dont see really where the coffe comes in. It smells really fresh and clean to me and not heavy or sickening at all.

This perfume gets me the most compliments out of any. I've been using it for years and still have yet to find one that tops it. Guys LOVE this perfume like crazy.

Beautiful, softly sweet, Floral, powdery, slightly spicy, warm, fruity, slightly citrusy, musky, woodsy, sensual, seductive, cozy, comforting, intriguing, inviting I have this in the original version (the one that’s pictured here at the top), so that’s the one I’m reviewing here. On me this opens with a sweet clementine scent, with some musk, a sprinkle of spicy pepper, just a hint of cappuccino, and powdery florals with an elegant vanilla orchid. As it dries down it becomes a bit more sweet, musky, vanilla, fruity, and woodsy, but a bit less spicy (although it is still there). The musk, blackberry, and woodsy notes really start to appear, and it gets some more warmth from the amber. It makes me think of sweet dried fruits and pressed flowers in a kitchen near a spice rack with a window opened that lets in the woodsy scent of the woods right outside of it. This is definitely not the super sweet fruity floral kind of scent that a lot of people associate with typical VS fragrances nowadays. It has more depth and uniqueness to it, and it’s not something that has that distinct youthful feel to it either. I think this could suit women of any age. I think this works best during the colder months of fall and winter. I get great performance with Very Sexy. The longevity is really impressive... it lasts the entire day on me, and I can still easily smell it the next morning. The projection is very good, it radiates out at least a few feet from me. It’s a shame that VS has discontinued and/or reformulated so many of their best fragrances. I’ve been using them for 20 years, and there’s quite a few that I desperately wish they would bring back. I still have most of my favorite older ones, but I’m going to use Vanilla Lace body mist as an example here. It’s such an absolutely gorgeous and elevated fragrance, and I believe it’s one of the ones that started so many of us falling in love with vanilla prominent fragrances. Its performance is truly incredible, it’s how fragrances (even body mists) should still perform! It’s perfume level performance... it lasts the entire day and into the next morning, and it projects at least a few feet. You don’t even need to spray a bunch to get that effect. That’s what this version of Very Sexy in the mist was like too, just as potent as the perfume itself.

Victoria's Secret VERY SEXY opens as a slightly fruity quiet floral and evolves into a lightly peppery floral in the drydown, which very much resembles that of Lancome MIRACLE. This is probably because of the dominant pepper note in both, which tends to distract my nose from most everything else. The pepper is not overwhelming, but it is definitely central to the drydown. The marked difference between VERY SEXY and MIRACLE is found in the opening. MIRACLE opens much bigger, with a distinctively lychee squishiness not present in VS. However, I do not detect in VS the distinctive opening notes of either cactus or cappuccino--which is perhaps a good thing in the latter case, since I prefer expresso! (-: All in all, I would say that VERY SEXY is a pleasant, subtle fragrance that belies its name, which might lead one to expect something quite a bit more pushy, even brash... Anyone who likes MIRACLE is bound to like VERY SEXY, and vice versa, I think. And not, if not!

This is a peppery floral, very well balanced between sharp and soft notes. Some of the notes listed are bit perplexing to me – I don’t think I’d recognize cactus flower or hortensia if I smelled it. I do think the floral notes here are on the sweet side, although I don’t find this scent to be too sweet. It has more of a fresh sweetness. I don’t smell any cappuccino at all. Actually, I don’t smell anything odd or unusual in this, given all the interesting notes listed. This is simply a pretty, floral musk with a good dose of pepper to give it the slightest kick. To me there is nothing overtly sexy about this, although that is a matter of opinion. I think this is another office friendly, nonoffensive scent from VS, a crowdpleaser, but I really enjoy wearing this.

usually i prefer to wear light and fruity scents. And when i wear very sexy, i miss that juicy fruity thing in this. But this is a interesting scent. First time i tried it on, i found it a bit boring, but after about 3 h it started to smell sweet and fresh. But this is not something i could use everyday, it is too much for me who like fruity and juicy scents, but if im going out partying i could use this. One thing i really don't like is that the alcohol in this taking over.

I know this version of Very Sexy isn't available anymore, but it is one of my favorites. I still have a body mist in this scent and it lasts and lasts throughout the day. I wish Victoria Secret made 'em like this still. The notes don't really sound like it would be something I would enjoy but the musky pepper and bit of citrus really resonate with me. It is an outlier of my collection and that is what makes it so special to me.

This is definitely a sexy scent. It's very warm and feminine. Unfortunately it's worn by many ladies I know, and it's such a distinctive scent that I can immediately tell when it's being worn by someone, so I don't wear it too much myself. I still love it, even though I rarely wear it. I've even seen men smell this perfume on other women and say out loud "wow, I think that perfume smells great".

This is an amazing perfume. I think the name says it all because it is a very sexy scent. I love this in cooler months because it's got a little bit of fruitiness and still is deep enough to be suited for the cold. The lasting power on this is amazing too and I always get compliments from men about how good I smell when I wear this. This is the best perfume from Victoria's Secret IMO.

Smells like a combination of Very Sexy For Her, Breathless and Dream Angels Heavenly (all VS). It's not a typical fragrance for me either (just like the reviewer below mentions), but i like it, it's light enough but works as an evening scent. It's very much "VS" which makes it slightly boring, i won't buy it again but i will enjoy the bottle that i already have :)

I have the older version of this. I like it but I need to be in the mood to wear it. It is just not one that I reach for often but when I do, the scent is amazing!!! I do not know how the new version smells and it seems like many say it's quite different. Too bad - when this original version shines in the right moment, it shines bright!!!

This is a really sexy fragrance it smells really good, I smell mostly pepper and orchid but sometimes I can identify the musk note, guys love this perfume, I think it Works better in cold months, the longevity could be better but for a victoria's secret perfume it's pretty decent, the sillage on me is really good not overpowering at all.

I absolutely love this fragrance!!! I just bought the "2012" one, in which the formula changed a little but still amazing. I cannot wear this anywhere without someone (mostly men) telling me how delicious it smells. Sexiest perfume out there. If you are looking for something warm, long lasting and unique.. this is it.

I like the spice to it :) I used it up though and started using other perfumes... that's just what I do. I would recommend it though. The newer one I don't think smells as good. The original (2002) was my favorite of these though.

i love how unique this fragrance is. musky flowers in a coffee shop. very flirtatious, its self titled, very sexy and seductive, however not too sexy for a signature sent or everyday use if you wanted.

This is a really sexy scent, I love it!, I smell orchid and hortensia , as a top note I smell pepper and some sweet scent maybe the clementine and the base note a beautiful musk.

This is defently the sexiest perfume ever made. One of Victoria Secrets best.

Before I had the vocabulary to describe scents, I'd simply describe this as perfume-y. You sniff it and respond: yep, that's a Victoria's Secret perfume. It's a fresh-ish, synthetic-heavy, drugstore sort of scent, with some pretty, powdery pink floral soap in the background. Right from the beginning, it's kind of peppery! This puts a nice twist on the floral heart of the fragrance and obscures its soapier nuances. I can smell the clementine in the opening. I grow cactuses, and sometimes they bloom, but I have no idea what that cactus flower fantasy note is supposed to smell like. Regardless, this is a peppery floral with a playful, kind of juvenile hint of clementine. I can sense a fruity freshness beneath it all that might very well be blackberry. I don't get anything I would think to describe as coffee, let alone a cappuccino; I can sense a mild lactonic note, but it feels more like an array of fruits and soft cheeses than cafe au lait. It's an odd description, but... maybe a cheese pizza with clementines and blackberries strewn haphazardly upon its surface? I don't know whether I'm the only person sensing something vaguely cheesy here. I don't notice it unless I'm really paying attention to pick the notes out. Perhaps the coffee is hiding in that peppery accord, lending it a hint of gauzy warmth. Is it sexy? It smells like a Victoria's Secret store. It has that VS store air freshener DNA. They want you to think this smell is sexy. They want you to come back to the store and buy their underwear. There's nothing particularly sensually interesting to me about a run-of-the-mill VS floral with a touch of fruit and pepper, but to each their own. Sweet, peppery, floral without being too soapy, weirdly a tiny bit cheesy... this isn't unpleasant! It smells kind of cheap, but it's at least semi-unique for a Vicky's Secret fragrance. I'm smelling an old sheer body mist formula, and I have no idea where, when, or why I would wear this. Perhaps I'm simply not sexy enough to appreciate its charm. Update: the longevity on this is terrifying. I'm going on 48 hours and there is still a very noticeable skin scent where I sprayed lightly one time. It's not unpleasant; I just can't imagine anywhere I could wear this, and I'm not someone who's usually a stickler about time and place of use for fragrances. Everyone should wear what they like, when they like to, but I have no idea what kind of weekend-long panty shopping bender I'd have to be on to want to smell like a fruity VS store for two days straight.

you can really smell the pepper. sometimes you can get the berry smell as well. when i smell it i can picture a mature woman. not a scent for a young girl, but not an old lady scent either. while i love to eat pepper this scent is not for me. i like more fresh scents. i dont find this scent bad though, more neutral. like if a coworker was wearing it i would not mind. i think of it as more of a night time fragrance but it could be worn to an office as well. a sophisticated smell. i think more of a fall or winter scent if you are just wearing it around. 8 hours later: i can still smell the perfume on me. it is weaker, but i can say it smells better now. im still not a fan, but i would say it smells a lot better. i asked my husband what he thought and he likes it. he said it smells musky and he doesnt notice the pepper, though i would say it is still most definitely present, though more of a light pepper.

Victoria Secret’s Very Sexy is a fruity fragrance for a mature woman. It’s not sugary sweet like a younger woman’s typical perfume. Top fruity notes of clementine and black berry with cactus flower and pepper. Middle notes of camellia, hydrangea, and mimosa. Dry down of vanilla orchid and soft woods. This fragrance is dominated by musk which gives it good lasting power for the entire day. Very Sexy lives up to it’s name!

I really wanted to like this after reading the reviews but I tried it and don't care for it at all. It has the unfortunate combination of smelling like something a young girl (sickly sweet) and a grandmother (potent lingering scent) would wear. I only got a sample and will be giving it away.

The name says it all. This one is truly very sexy, maybe too much. I love the spices in it. Unfortunately, I did not find many occasions where I could wear this scent.

I used to own a large bottle of the original Very Sexy for Her in college. It was a great scent -- a little mature and musky for me at the time, but it's something I'd appreciate more now. This 2007 version I recently came across in an eBay lot. It was a tiny .25 oz mini bottle. It appears that this is very reminiscent of the original, but toned down. It retains most of the florals and fruits, but is not a musk-bomb. The longevity and sillage are not fantastic, but that could be a good thing to many people (the original was very loud, even with just 2 sprays.) This is a very different fragrance than the common "fruit-water" on every store shelf. The notes that stand out to me are the pepper, orchid, cappuccino, musk, and wood. The sweet notes and the spicy florals seem to clash just a little, but overall it's a nice blend. It's not my favorite by any means, but since I am a VS collector, I've been considering adding it to my horde. As for men liking it, the original version was purchased for me by my best friend, who is a male. I trust his judgement. He has an excellent taste for these things. He is not attracted to females, but at the same time, he is aware what appeals to most men. I never actually got compliments, though, but to be fair I think I oversprayed. This newer version, I have no idea what type of reaction it would bring. I have been with my fiance for 5 years, and honestly, I would predict that this 2007 version would be given a neutral-to-negative response. He's very, very picky. He goes crazy over Dream Angels Heavenly and super-fruity Ed Hardy. Anything else, he either complains is too strong or he just doesn't like it.

The typical 'sexy' scent is usually something oriental or sugary sweet, so you can imagine my surprise when I discovered that Very Sexy by Victoria's Secret was peppery and fresh. I see this fragrance shown quite often on YouTube in perfume collection videos. From what I can gather, it is one of their best selling fragrances at Victoria's Secret. I have never tried the original Very Sexy, so I have nothing to compare it to. Honestly, I don't find it all that sexy, and neither does my boyfriend. It is certainly appealing, don't get me wrong, but it's not the first fragrance I'd reach for if I wished to spice up my image. My orientals and gourmands do that just fine. What this fragrance does do, is make me feel fresh, spicy and clean. In some ways, the strong pepper note makes this fragrance smell a little fiery and crisp. Very Sexy is versatile and a sure crowd pleaser. The opening has a real bite to it, with zesty clementine and sneeze-worthy pepper. It also has a slightly masculine edge. I was glad that Very Sexy showed signs of complexity early on, cancelling out my fears that this fragrance would become linear and generic. The heart is where the vanilla orchid and jammy blackberries are most prominent, later settling into a slightly powdery and warm drydown. From beginning to end, this fragrance is quite strong, so I suggest applying it with a light hand. I would recommend this fragrance to those on a budget, who want something a little different to suit all seasons and occasions.

From bottle I cannot bring myself to complete, circa 2007: Thick garden glade glowing under the height of last heat of summer, with a lush ambery baby talc aura and spiked with spiced breezes... leading from the secrecy of shadowed woods to a sunbeam of brightly inviting sunkissed skin which blooms into highlights of floral nectar, riddled with whispers of every nature of adventure. Transition from spray to wear hints at visiting fresh green flora but never fully delivers, there's something airy yet heavy as incense that comes off flirting at being 'berry' which takes hold at the base of one's throat and never lets go- cashmere scarf it is not, but does the same trick. It all intimates at long weekends carousing and cuddling, wafting pillowy musk interwoven with deep tendrils of condensed dark fruit or is that a deep and honeyed midnight fleur? Doesn't matter, this is the merely the stage upon which more pressing matters attend. Linear, insistent, self assured and direct. Trusty to a fault. Very Sexy does not beat around the bush about it's intentions. You get the same level of comfort and inviting projection for as long as this sticky stuff cares to stay attached to whatever it's sprayed to.
