Swiss Army

My dealer first introduced me to this fragrance about a month ago when i was paying him a visit. I didn't think much of it even though he mentioned to me that it was "his favorite summer scent". To this day i have no clue why i just shrugged off his opinion so quickly. I tried this again at a local grey market store that actually has testers out to get an idea of how it smells. Well, i'll just say i made myself a decant of it at the store. It's GREAT stuff, super minty and a lot of well placed foresty notes to really bring the whole idea of it together! This fragrance DOES remind me of a time when i would be in need of swiss army products. Cold air, dry green pine, dirt and wood. A must buy, and a great summer fragrance! The top: The peppermint note found in this fragrance is both penetrating and cold. Colder than a witches tit, which also reminds me of a cold evening in january. As most people will know, peppermint also has slight green and sweet properties to it. Acidic bergamot, and something that smells very reminiscent of bittersweet fruit. Two generic notes to be found in every fresh scent, but, nonetheless they work perfectly as they should. The heart: The middle opens with soft warming lavender, along with a savory bite from rosemary. The lavender note found in this fragrance is also remarkably genuine to the real thing (i keep lavender on hand in my home and on the dashboard in my car.). I'm not sure what edelweiss is, but the middle of this fragrance is both warm, because of the violet leaves and lavender, yet also smooth and vannilic, GREAT! The base: Green, green, green, green! This fragrance performs exactly as a forest does, you notice the WOODS and the LEAVES and the RUFFAGE before you notice the (refer to heart notes) and THEN (refer to top notes). Cypress's slightly soapy ever so aromatic green/brown essences reek across the forest floor. Pine adds a sort of fleeting minty quality to the base as well as a very disctint feeling of "pure pine air". We have thick assertive ceder, and musk finish this up, and give it some much needed masculinity. Imagine the scent without the ceder and musk....it'd smell feminine right? That's what i think anyways. I approve Smell: 9 Longevity: 8 Sillage: 10

Victorinox Swiss Army Classic is a fresh aromatic scent. It has a nice woody and spicy opening and then settles to more floral dry down with a hint of musk. The opening really grabs me with the fresh woody scent and the spicy/tangy edge to it with some ginger and a hint of citrus. The great opening really draws me in and it then settles in to a pretty standard fresh/woody/aromatic scent. It is an easy fragrance to wear. I wouldn't say it is a big head turner or compliment getter but it does make the wearer smell pleasant and fresh. I have been wearing Swiss Army Classic since it was gifted to me by a girlfriend in about 2002 and I enjoy wearing it. It is most suitable for wearing to work as it is a non-offensive, somewhat subtle scent so good for the office, lab, clinic or class environments. It works best in summer and warm spring days. In terms of value this used to be relatively cheap but seems to have jumped in price recently, if you can get a 100mL bottle for around $30USD or less then that is reasonable value. It lasts about 4 hours with arm length to intimate projection. Not really a date night or party fragrance but a very good signature/every day fragrance for the warmer months. I think Swiss Army Classic is one of the better fresh fragrances to come out of the late 90s and it is still very wearable today.

This scent is by far my favorite of all time. It's very unique, and I've never smelled anything like it. The scent is hard to explain. Some call it green but I don't think so. Some compare it to cool water, not even close. It's very rich and aromatic, very unique and pleasant. That's all I can come up with. Maybe woody but not like any other woody scent I've ever smelled. I used to wear it back in high school, and it was made by Swiss Army Parfums. Now it's made by Victorinox and it's not the same. The smell is a bit weaker and it doesn't last nearly as long. I get maybe a few hours at best on my shirt. The old stuff lasted hours and hours and stayed on your clothes until you washed them. This newer stuff is long gone by the end of the day. I wish I could find another scent like it, that lasted longer, but it's just too unique, and I've yet to find one. There's a clone called Swiss Guard and it's good too, and lasts a little bit longer, but it's super cheap and burns my eyes. The bottle in the picture is the old bottle, from when Swiss Army Parfums made it. The new one is Victorinox Swiss Army Classic. It's not the same anymore, but there's still nothing like it.

I've known Swiss Army ever since my dad bought a bottle circa 2003, The overall performance is not bad at all, moderate sillage and longevity. It's got a very fresh opening, mostly a green note with fresh lavender, mint and bergamot, followed closely by the rosemary and some woody notes; in a nutshell, I'd describe it as a very mountainy scent indeed, connected with nature but fresh-floral wise, not too foresty like Drakkar noir which is mainly an accord of rich sweet lavender, oak moss and pine; Swiss Army Classic to me smells like snow sports and a wooden cabin. A great warm weather fragrance, I like it mostly on spring for its very nature-like scent, but, to me, it even works good enough during winter days because it compliments the cool weather.

Everyone who dislikes this juice ought to know that this, too, was reformulated some years back. The original was a beautiful aromatic with a sweetish kick in the trail. One of the most seductive scents I have known on a guy. Listen, it may be hard to believe, but I can attest to the magic of this scent! The trail it leaves is positively mesmerizing to a woman. The new stuff is sharper and disjointed, comes apart instead of settling down with the scent of your skin. Unfortunately, those that are interested in this might be best off seeking a "vintage" bottle. Yeah, I know. I said it. It actually is worth it though.

“Fresh. Green. Soap” In my opinion Victorinox really outkicked their coverage on this one- they created a real ”Swiss Army Knife” fragrance that, perhaps most importantly, is budget friendly. It really has something in it that’s perfect for any occasion. It projects just enough in my opinion to grab anybody in your bubble. On my skin this lasts forever (10-12 hours). It’s a very original endearing playful scent that won’t knock anybody out of their shoes. I prefer to wear this at work due to it’s presentation. 10/10 - Due to the way it mixes on my skin and price I will always have a reason to own/wear this.

oh swiss army.!!!! I was really biased negatively because of my high school years when most people (nearly everyone), was wearing this fragrance and abused of the trigger and could smell them miles away. But now, at the end of university and start to work, this is a great fragrance: citrucy, green and musky vibes are well blended great versatility but be careful on the trigger depending where you are...so 2 sprays (1 chest and one on the neck) for school and office purpose and 3 (1 chest and 2 on the neck) for clubbing great longevity 5 to 8 hours decent to great projection 8.5/10

When I met my (present) husband, he wore this. That was it - I should not say this but, oh, what the heck, he smelled so damn good I wanted to jump his bones right there and then... Almost did, too. Nowadays, the half-used bottle of this juice stands lonely in his bathroom cabinet, alone and unworn. Many a time do I ask him to wear it, but he does not... Says, he's not into perfumes. Oh well, he can sleep alone while I watch some re-re-runs of something or other... :p

I used to wear this one a lot back in the day along with 360 Red and Issey Miyake. This one is not as legendary as those but it's just as good. I still have an older bottle which is heavier on the mint, cypress and fir. Nothing really floral about it. Just a nice clean green forest type of scent. It easily lasts over 8 hour with great projection also. I wear it every now and then just to bring me back to those memories in my mid 20's!

A perfume underestimated. For its price, it overwrites the biggest names easily! I highly recommend it.

This is a one and only fragrance my husband owns, and that is totally fine with me. Boy, the guy can really rock it... He wore it on our first date back in 1999, and I'm pretty sure it was a sizeable factor in my decision to keep him. I only wish hubby wore it more often as this amazing frag always gets me in the mood... It might be a simplistic scent to some but, to me, it's pure magic.

My first ever frag. Bought this blind and I loved it luckily. Gave me soo much memories and to the girl I had a huge crush on. Lasts a good 8 hours, possibly more with great projection and silage but that may vary on different persons. I haven't really smell anything like this, not as of yet but I do recommend it. Edit : Dry down is very similar to Cool Water. Damn.

Like mother nature! Almost therapeutic! Not the biggest fan of green scents but this one I'm in love with. There's a local mall I go to occasionally and one place in there uses a scent very similar to this as their aromatherapy. It eases my mind and makes me just wanna sit down on a bench and relax.That's the mint doing work. This scent is etched in my mind.

Update after almost a year: I really grown to love this fragrance. It's possible that it's just because of the positive associations and nostalgia, but it works really well for spring and summer, is refreshing and crisp. I took it with me on my Venice trip last spring and now it brings great memories and mood.

As this dries down, I do notice the mentioned resemblence to Cool Water, but whereas that is more harsh and synthetic, this seems to me more creamy and soft like Chanel Edition Blanche. But the green notes really uplift this into something unique, making this my signature scent for the spring.

This smells like a white shaving cream, very nice and garners compliments. People used it 20 years ago and it was hyped, but im 27 years old and im using it in 2018 so it's unique to wear these days. Will always have a bottle in my collection to use, because of how good this smells.

Just an absolute beast, all time classic, every situation, every day kinda fragrance. This is the only scent I've gone through 2 bottles of, one 50ml bottle and one 100ml bottle. It is also by far my most complimented fragrance, and for the price? Unbeatable.

Someone said it best! It's def a 90s scent and you get a cool water and curve mixture! They are both one of my favorite fragrances so its like the best of both worlds! Let me just add I also get an apple pie smell to it, although it is a green scent!

I don't know if it's just me but the newer batches have amped up citruses and mint, and it projects near beastmode. I get atleast 1 compliment a day. Smells like you just marinaded yourself on green shower gel. Wildly underrated!

All time classic. To me this is as if cool water and the original luna rossa had a baby. Has the fresh clean laundry smell of cool water and the minty fresh air/ snowy smell of luna rossa. Amazing for $11

This stuff ain't bad! I'd describe it greener, more blue collar version of Cool Water. A great scent for those who work outside in the elements. Performance isn't bad for a $20 scent.

Soapy, cheap, fresh, shower gel. I used to use it after shower when i want to feel clean and fresh but now i have bentley silverlake which is a better version for me.

My fave fragrance so far, fresh at the beginning but intense and provocative at the end , it has a speciall scent that makes me love it

Fresh and super green-spicy. I'm quite amazed by it's longevity since it's an EDT. Projects well and last well over 6 hours.

Think of a classic like Paco Rabanne Pour Homme and then make it lighter, fresher and brighter so that it's much more appealing. That's what Swiss Army Classic is. It's a good blend of citrus, mint, lavender, herbal and musky aromas with a strong soapy drydown. It's a very fresh and clean cologne, so much so that it does make me realize that classic aromatic fougeres can actually be quite heavy-handed despite not being sweet. Despite the improvements to the classic aromatic fougere formula, the overall aroma doesn't really stand out. This is not an attention grabber and not intended to be. It may come off as smelling like soap or body wash to some users. It's also not unisex as I can't see a woman wearing this as perfume. This is an extremely versatile cologne. It's great for all ages and all occasions and should shine in warmer weather. Unlike most aromatic fougeres, at least the ones still left on the market, this is quite good for younger users as well as older ones and will appear to all ages. Still, it is very much an aromatic fougere and so may remind younger users of the previous generations and put them off from it. C'est la vie. Presentation is great, a solid all metal slim cylindrical bottle that is clearly meant to remind you of a Swiss Army knife/tool. Performance is very good and the price is very affordable. Recommended.

Released in 1997, this cologne was the first of the brand to hit the market and became a fever among users of international fragrances, who were searching for something different from North American releases. The quality of the famous Swiss Army knives was a great precedent for such. Swiss Army Classic is an excellent aromatic-Woody, that brings freshness and well-being sense, although it is seen by many as a generic. Consists of green notes plus yuzu orange, mint and bergamot, on the output. The body of the fragrance has notes of lavender, Rosemary, violet leaves and Edelweiss (Leontopodium alpinum), which is a Switzerland flower, also known as “lion's foot”. At the base, were added motes of Swiss pine Balsam, musk, cedar and cypress. The result is a fragrance of fruity and slightly sweet output, with great presence of yuzu and that evolves quickly to an accord of floral and aromatic aspect. The lavender is very subtle, but the Rosemary and the nuances of violet are quite notable. Shortly thereafter, it is possible to feel the classic aroma of Cypress that, in conjunction with the balsamic, woody and moist tone of the fir, makes this perfume a great option for those who enjoy fresh scents, which are not extremely fruity or aquatic. It doesn't present a great evolution. Basically, the fragrance remains in this way on the skin and, in my perception, revolves around the yuzu Orange, Rosemary and cypress. There are comparisons with the Cool Water but, honestly, I don't see any resemblance. If it is to give a notion of similarity, I'd rather compare it to Burberry for Men, although they are quite different. The bottle is a glass capsule that has been docked inside a plastic cylinder with metallic finishing. A different creation, already at that time. Both the projection and lasting are very good. Personally, I appreciate it.

This is also a 15+ year old bottle in my almost all full collection. My wife got me this many years ago when a co-worker of hers wore it and she really liked the scent. Being firmly dedicated to Dunhill Edition as my only scent ever , I was less than thrilled to smell like someone else. Time changes many things and I got Altitude by Swiss Army later on and really enjoyed it more so ignored this fragrance for years. This is an ultimate freshie. It goes on fresh and stays a creamy green clean scent. It's got a hint of spice to keep it inetresting and masculine. An aquatic note that I usually rebel against but adore in this, altitude and coolwater because it's more clean than cucumber watermelony aquatic.(that probably only makes sense to me) The lavender and citrus notes make it fresh and clean but it's held up by the cedar, fir and musk. It's a classic perfume. A dependable choice for every occasion. Not ground breaking but so well done it deserves it's place in the fragrance hall of fame. I think women can pull this off too. Being that 90's new school male unharsh appealing to everyone scent ...it can be worn by younger older and gender diverse or unicorn. To do this justice it's swiss army. Anyone who knows this scent detetcts it instantly. In that respect it's an identifiable scent so there fore a well earned reputable fragrance. It's longevity attests to that. You can still get this and it probably sells by the boat load. I really enjoy this now. I can wear it and not be offended by it not being my signature scent. I've opened myself up to find what's good in something versus finding all the bad things I don't like. I'm glad to have this and wear it.

My signature scent during my high school days. I used to spray the crap out of this stuff. I'd get a new bottle every Christmas and I'd usually have to grab a new bottle by the summer from the department store for $20. By the time I hit my 20s I stopped wearing fresh fragrances and started going more towards barbershop fougeres and 80s fragrances, and I scoffed at ever wearing Swiss Army. Recently my Mom saw a bottle on clearance for $8 and decided to pick it up for me because she remembered how much I used to wear it. I was so shocked to rediscover that I really like this. Oh the memories that came flooding right back! I've worn this a few times over the past couple weeks and have been getting a fair bit of compliments which is a rare occurrence for me. It's fairly beastly on me, I can smell this one for 7-9 hours beaming off of me on 5 sprays (2 on the shirt). I'm not sure its stronger than most fragrances I own or just that I don't get olfactory fatigue from it, but I can smell it pretty much the entire way which is rare for me. Swiss Army is a soapy, fresh, safe fragrance that, although highly synthetic smelling, actually smells pretty nice and agreeable. It's somewhere in the same vain as Cool Water, although less aquatic and more synthetic smelling. Swiss Army is perfect for teens and those looking back on the glory days of their youth. I probably won't wear this a lot, but I'm so happy its back in my collection.

And the result is : holaa... perfect scent If you are citrus lover and ever use Cool Water or Acqua Di Gio, I thought this is a combination of both. But Swiss Army smells more spicy and fresh. Very nice for fashionable man, challenge lover, elegant, calm and charming. So ive had this for a few months now and ive really grown to appreciate this stuff ! It truly is in the cheapie but goodie category. This stuff has a gorgeous opening thats fresh but thick,somewhat powdery but in a good way, green and soapy. Then once this dries down it becomes more smooth and actually a little more fresh and aromatic. If I had to compare this to any other fragrances id say its a mix between cool water and curve. It for sure has that 90's vibe but its still modern and appealing to this day. I must stress that this stuff is very appealing and when applied right you will get compliments with this stuff but this is 1 that can become overkill if over applied as it is somewhat of a thick fragrance. Id suggest 3-4 sprays and you are SET for a good 6-12 hours. Which brings me to how this performs. It usually lasts 6-8 hours but on numerous occasions its lasted in the 10-12 hour range and the projection on this is very good. (Bordering on beast mode but not quite) Especially for the first 2 hours but afterwards you still get about a foot projection for the duration of the fragrance. Overall rating--- 8 out of 10 ! SOLID scent with very SOLID performance thats also very versatile and all seasons as well (Summer only 1 spray will lasts you all day) However i really enjoy this scent and will recommend this to people but its not 1 of my favorite scents personally.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR CUBA PARIS PRESTIGE BLACK which is not listed on this website but after doing some research I found it is supposed to be a clone of Swiss Army Classic. I decided to wear it again today after a long break and forgetting what notes were listed in Swiss Army. So out of curiosity I decided to identify what notes I detected and then look up Swiss Army here to see if there was a similarity. That being said the notes I picked up immediately were lavender & cypress strongly with a touch of musk and cedar in background. After seeing all of those same notes listed in the same manner under Swiss Army I have to believe that Prestige Black is indeed a clone. As for my opinion of the Prestige Black I really like the blend of notes in this. I enjoy lavender if it is mixed well with other woody spicy notes as it is here. Some other lavenders in my collection (Curve & Wings) are just not very exciting to me and I hardly wear them. Prestige Black is much better blended and balanced. Longevity and sillage are both in the moderate range. For me I would wear this more as a kickback around the house and running errands on the weekend type of juice. As an extra bonus you can find Cuba Paris Prestige Black at Ross for about $8. Not bad!

Very solid cheapie that will always be in my collection just for the simple fact that it’s a great freshie for the colder weather... Swiss army opens up very loud with a fresh,minty,aromatic green smell thats verypleasant but also very potent so limitthis to 2-3 sprays. This stays pretty linear but once it dries down the mint dies down, and the lavender and musk take over and your left with a very green,musky,outdoorsy smell that simply reminds of an evergreen forest. This isn’t a scent that will crack my top 10 favorite or anything but every time I wear his I do always enjoy it and this evergreen style scent simply takes me back to the days when I used to live in the country. Pine isn’t in this but it does remind me of pine trees. Performance on this is great ! It projects beastly for 2 hours but then for the duration your left with a nice scent bubble and this also leaves a good sillage trail. In total this lasts 10-16 hours. Overall rating-7 out of 10 ! Very solid timeless scent but unfortunately it’s not a scent that can contend with the heavy hitters in my collection

Oh Swiss Army how you seem to attract more women to me than my other more expensive colognes I own and it drives me nuts! How do you do it? I hate for liking you as much as I do but thats what perfumes and colognes are made for... a REACTION! The smell is all too familiar right? It has been repeated over and over that its fresh, spicy, clean, and yeah we get the picture. But guys you want to make that first good impession and you want the women to react positively to your scent. Your natural masculine smell mixed with this cologne are a perfect match and it will draw plenty of attention. You do not have to like Swiss Army but just like that feeling you will get when a woman asks you what cologne are you wearing? As for the longevity I found it does not last as long as I wish. But thats just me. The sillage is arms length but the trail it leaves behind is what catches people by surprise. Its not perfect but try it for her pleasure! A classic indeed! 9 out of 10

My first ever fragrance bought as a gift. Have worn this for around 20 years now before getting into fragrances earlier this year so will always have a bottle in the rotation for nostalgia, and my wife still associates this scent with me. Opening has always been a bit abrasive, but it quickly settles down into a fresh earthy scent. I don't get the citrus at all that others have mentioned, neither the mint listed in the notes. For that reason, I won't wear this anymore in the heat, suits a cooler weather and perfect after the rain. Would make a good scent for the gym or for a quick "chuck on" during the day. I have used it before testing other fragrances in stores because I know it isn't too loud and won't last too long. Longevity - Projection is low for less than 1 hour and is a skin scent for 2-3. (In fairness I have worn for so long I may just not recognize it anymore).

This is my general-purpose outdoors fragrance. I spend a great deal of time in the forest, so it helps me blend in. You can tell that all of the other Swiss Army colognes use this same general formula. Imagine: Sitting by a small creek in the middle of a forested valley in the summer. The heat is really beating down on the back of your neck and the air is heavy. There is no breeze, but the smell of the fir trees can still be distinguished among all of the fallen timber. You stand up and continue down the mossy creek bed to the sound of the babbling brook. Think: Green, Dense, Piney, Smooth, Masculine Overall: 7/10 - The acme of projection

Reacquainted with this fragrance after finding an old bottle in one of my travel bags. I've been wearing it again and maybe its the nostalgia but its damn good! Non-offensive office/gym scent but also perfect for travel. Its not a beast in projection, but it clings to skin and clothes for a very long time. I was doing laundry earlier and caught a whiff from a shirt I wore two days ago. Good stuff! Reading recent reviews and @stefanivalini you were obviously dumped hard by a stud wearing Swiss Army. Get over it.

This smells great. I ordered it's sibling "Altitude" but they sent me this by mistake... I'm not complaing or sending it back. I believe it is was god intended for me to have, haha. Smells so fresh with lots of green and citrus notes. I smell citrus and cypress on opening, then it settles down to a smooth greeny/lavender scent. It is light but not weak by any means. I think it has similarities with cool water after about 5-10 minutes but I prefer it over cool water. longevity- 8 sillage- 8 scent- 9

Nose Note #500 - First Anniversary Review! I'm a sucker for this kind of DNA, but I'm not sure that it's so close to Cool Water. It fell flat for me. I've bought a 15 year old official sample of this and it sits rather close to skin already after 10 minutes. It has many things you would want to see in a 90s freshy - mint, very nice lavender, some cypress, citruses, an aromatic accord underneath. But it all feels flat. Otherwise - it does feel like a breath of fresh air. 6.8/10, lacks energy

Got this from a discount store back in the day and remember liking it a lot. It's a non-descript woody aquatic with a nice fresh opening. Woodier than cool water and more masculine. Highly versatile. Doesn't last more than 1-2 and skin scent after 15 minutes - for that I would not recommend it even at $20 for the the 100ml bottle. Speaking of the bottle I do remember that the aluminum bottom fell off and the atomizer was leaky... I guess one should not complain at this price point.

I think this one is really nice and fresh smelling- and the lavender, bergamot and cedar stand out most for me. I remember my brother wearing it about 8 years ago (he used to douse himself, you could tell which room he'd been in, and in what order) and my first impression was that it was overpowering but after I explained about using cologne more sparingly, it smelled quite nice! It will always remind me of my brother so I think of it as pleasant and easy going.

Picked this up cheap, 20$ for a 3.4oz. This scent reminds me of greens/aquatics. Projection is fair, about a 2 foot cloud for me on 3/4 sprays. I get lots of compliments with this, surprisingly. If you can find this fragrance cheap, I would recommend the purchase, however I would try before you buy because it can come across as cloying. Overall: 3/5, a fresh scent that can be used for every day wear, best used during the spring or summer.

It's a nice scent, Fresh, Clean and Soapy. I have new silver color bottle and packaging.The Performance is poor but it smells so good with reasonable price ! It opens up with like fresh citrusy and green notes in the background then dry down is green ambery. This perfume reminds me of Artisan Blu by John Varvatos, It is perfect for the spring and summer. I like Swiss Army Victorinox EDT for Men. Rating : 7 / 10

So much hate on this one, not too sure why. Sure it's inexpensive, it's popular, and it's not too distinctive. But still, it's a great cologne; smells fresh and has a tone that works pretty much anywhere. This is a good signature scent, you can make it into a daily driver and not feel like it's trying to command your appearance. Give it a chance, don't jump on the bandwagon of not being a sheep =P
