Good Fortune

Ordinarily this is pretty out of my price range, especially with how copy paste designer scents can be from each other, but snagged a 3 oz bottle at half price so couldn't say no. Very beautiful packaging, and love that it's refillable, cap even feels nice and fun. The fragrance is sooooo lovely and pretty, I wouldn't say the most original, but has a little unique personality from the top notes. The opening is strong sweet/ herbal/ root, I can understand the root beer connections some people make, but to me and my brain it screams flinstones vitamins for some reason lol but it does fade within 15 or so minutes and the jasmine vanilla blend takes over for the most part. Reminded me a bit of Electric Fantasy, which lots of people say smells like Born in Roma so I suppose it's close to that?? Another I own close to it is maybe Pure XS Paco Rabanne, which doesn't list jasmine as a note so maybe it's the syrupy sweetness; but either way, perfect for spring-fall-winter, and perfect for a romantic date night. Longevity and projection are excellent, I would even say to be careful with this one as it could get too sweet and cloying, got complimented the very first time I wore it, so gets a thumbs up from me!

I simply adore this perfume. I’m sad it doesn’t seem to get as much love as I think it deserves, but that’s kind of the fun thing about perfumes! (Everybody having their own take/interpretation of a scent, that is). Initially I didn’t get a huge amount of intensity with the fennel note. It was most certainly there, but it has definitely become stronger after macerating for a bit. I personally love this smell and intensity, but I could see how it might be TOO much for some. If you can make it through that for about 10-15 minutes, it does start settling really nicely. The jasmine and vanilla compliment the fennel note beautifully on the dry down as well. Longevity has gotten way better after my bottle macerated, as well. I would say now I can get 8+ hours from it. One last thing, this reminds me of a familiar scent that I can’t quite put my finger on.. my mind goes to Abercrombie or Hollister circa 2005 (but way less obnoxious), but I’m not sure if that’s on the right track. Either way, I really love and appreciate this scent! It has honestly become one of my favorites that I find myself reaching for again and again

I love this so much. I think it's a perfume you can wear just about any time, any place. For me this takes me back to being a teenager, looking through my mom's Cosmo magazines and sniffing all the perfume samples. And I swear, EVERY single one smelled the same - like Good Fortune. So maybe it's the memories tied to smelling scents like this in magazines filled with sophisticated and grown up models, but this smells classy to me. It's very perfume-y at first but it dries down really lovely. If you don't overspray it, then I think it'll be fine. I can see how the opening might give someone a headache though. As for the scent itself, I'm getting a warm white floral with a lot of sweetness. I'm getting a scent that I typically get with perfumes that have petitgrain as a note. YSL Libre and Cacharel Catch Me have petitgrain in them and I sense something similar in this, possibly the fennel but I'm not sure. The scent is strong for me and lasts all day. It gets sweeter and less "perfume-y" as the day goes on. I'm planning to keep this one in my collection unless I get tired of it at some point, but for now I love it.

One of my favorite perfumes to date! Initially I wrote it off, but after trying it on my skin, I began to absolutely adore it. I think you have to love Jasmine to appreciate it. If a fennel note exists here, it comes off as a very faint anise. And I actually hardly noticed it at all. I wear it to date nights and for everyday. I overspray it at nighttime for more effect, and it pulls very alluring then. I can see why it gets overlooked- it has some strange notes. But it’s actually a very lovely jasmine vanilla scent that is extremely versatile and easy reach. The bottle is so gorgeous and looks magical on my vanity! So if you give it another chance like I did, you might fall in love with it. I love most Victor and Rolf scents. They really know what they do. It’s high priced for amazing quality. You can’t really go wrong. If you love some Alien flankers and white florals in general, you came to the right place. It can get very strong- very good projection. A little goes a long way.

Some perfumes become part of your everyday life. Others become chapters you never want to forget. Good Fortune will always be that chapter for me. It reminds me of a version of myself that wasn't afraid to shine a little brighter - to wear bold lipstick, laugh a little louder, and embrace life with open arms. Every time I wear it, it feels like opening an old journal and finding a page that still makes me smile. Warm, comforting and quietly radiant, it carries a happiness that doesn't need to prove itself. It simply exists. Over time, my taste has evolved. I discovered fragrances that feel more like home, softer and closer to my skin. But that never diminished what Good Fortune means to me. Not every perfume has to become your signature to remain unforgettable. Some become treasured memories. And memories, unlike trends, never go out of style. Whenever I reach for this bottle, I'm reminded that every version of ourselves deserves kindness - even the ones we've gently outgrown.

I really like this one. It's a nice little slightly spicy jasmine vanilla, and the fennel makes it interesting and kind of herbal. I am assuming anyone who finds it generic maybe has either a nose or skin chemistry that doesn't pick up on the fennel as much, because that's a pretty unique note to include in a white floral perfume marketed to women (although I can also see how it's polarizing or doesn't "fit" the scent profile to some people's tastes). I look forward to seeing how it does in cold weather. It almost has a tea latte vibe on me- like a vanilla jasmine milk tea (hot, not iced). Edit: This is pretty in the winter. More of a semi-dressy cold weather scent for me (something about it doesn't read as "casual" to me- it's more like a floor length, lilac colored velvet dress; the kind of thing that you only wear on days when you want to feel fancy). If/when I use up my travel size, I will pick up one of those cute little crystal ball bottles.

I like this, it's really pretty. The previous reviewer compared it to Matcha Meditation, and I never would have linked the two, but I totally get that. I know it sounds crazy and it may be but whatever, it's like if Matcha Meditation was purple lol. This is one I don't think a dupe could do justice. I'd be surprised if a clone could do the tiny little shifts, twists and such that this perfume does if that makes sense. Like, I can see another fragrance having similarities in smell and performance, but, if you've sprayed this on your skin, gotten close and taken a few good inhales, you get that it does this has little facets that would be hard to duplicate and probably only the wearer could discern it, and it makes having the origninal worth it - but having said that, I'd be super interested if there was one that did. Sorry for the readability of this post, or the lack of it. It kinda sucks.

I can't believe I almost skipped this one because of the bad reviews everywhere. I don't get it, honestly I think people are starting to get overwhelmed by the huge variety of available scent, that they expect every new perfume to be something incredibly groundbreaking and don't really appreciate simple beautiful scent. This is so pretty... it smells incredibly familiar but not in a boring generic way, more like beautiful nostalgia. Of course you have to really like jasmine to enjoy this. It's mysterious and bright at the same time, sweet but not heavy. I just wish it was a little bit stronger. Also, the sprayer on my 90mk bottle is way too aggressive. I hate when perfumes leave a wet spot on the skin. I had the same issue with Paco Rabanne Olympea. Maybe if it was a nice soft mist, it would help it stick to the skin better and project more.

I believe the people giving this bad reviews are just snobs. Not every single fragrance has to be groundbreaking and have insanely complex notes. This fragrance is simple, elegant, maybe leans a touch mature, but it's good! It's a fruity vanilla with a hint of spice. It would be a perfect date night scent for a woman in her 20s. I think it's a very wearable scent which I really like, and I could definitely see this becoming someone's signature scent. It gives you the same DNA as most Viktor and Rolf fragrances, so if you like them, I believe you'd like this. To me, this is the shampooy fruity, but not peachy version of Flowerbomb Ruby Orchid. It's much less sweet than that one, more fresh and like I said before, shampooy. I think this is really nice, and you know what, sometimes we all need a basic fruity floral, ok you snobs!!

For a longtime this was my signature scent. I even bought a refill bottle for it. But... its natural that you grow out of fragrances. I still like this, but for me at the moment, its little too ”boring” and one dimensional. I like stronger scents with a bit more complexity and depth. If we put that aside and you don’t necessarily agree with my previous statement, this is a very lovely jasmine forward scent. Very feminine and soft but at the same time not that sweet. If you wear very fresh scents mostly, this is your date night sexy scent. But, if you’re an intense scent wearer, this is your softer daytime scent. I have experienced, that Good fortune doesn’t mix with others very well, so if you’re a scent mixer, I don’t recommend this one. Something with the scents dna, doesn’t work with others -at least with my collection-.

I recently discovered this gem, and it’s quickly become my favorite. It all started when I bought a $10 sample on eBay - honestly, I was mostly drawn to the adorable little potion bottle it came in. I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with the fragrance itself, but it completely won me over. It’s so comforting and pleasant - a beautiful blend of vanilla and jasmine with fennel that’s perfectly balanced. After finishing two samples, I knew I had to get the full bottle. It’s heavenly and feminine, so I was surprised to see some negative reviews. Every time I wear it, my sister tells me I smell amazing. It’s perfect for any occasion - including the office - and I also love wearing it to bed. It layers beautifully with other fragrances, too. Honestly, this one feels so underrated!

I got to try this at the mall not too long ago and I was given a sample of it I put it on today and it immediately remind me of Kim Kardashian's first perfume. It is very nice and I love the crystal ball bottle. To me it is very and it's a great summer perfume it is very white flowery creamy floral. Very clean. Nothing I find offensive to my nose at all. It's quite beautiful. Very alluring. I really like it a lot but for the price I might as well get the Kim Kardashian perfume it smells almost identical to me on my skin. If I do get this one it will be because I love the bottle. It is a very witchy bottle and I love the purple juice. You can get this fragrance a lot less expensive on eBay than you can in the department store. I do really love this fragrance a lot.

A serious and friendly scent, namely a neutral signature. However, besides the fact that it's overpriced, I believe that it gets ordinary while fading. Elixir Intense is almost the same, maybe worse. I would buy it, if I had never meet stronger scents screaming to be signatures. On the other side, Good Fortune can be a thematic signature fragrance, e.g. working at an office (serious and neutral), or a great choice if you are young and want to find a mature but not an extra strong perfume! inspiration in words: "Slightly mysterious. It has come to the modern world of obligations and technology from the fairy world where everything was blossoming and rainy. Remains calm most of the time and captivates everyone without disturbing them. Οbserves the world a lot".

while this fragrance has a pretty simple note composition and performance, with its heavy jasmine complemented by a lightly spiced vanilla, i have grown to really enjoy it for what it is in contrast to its witchy, mystical presentation and marketing. i am normally aversive to jasmine-forward scents as my nose picks it up as “old lady”, but strangely with this perfume i don’t really get that at all. as the perfume developed over time, it accrued a slightly stronger performance with a slightly deeper vanilla, which is enough for me to consider repurchasing as i am reaching the bottom of the gorgeous bottle. some fragrances do simple really well, and i think this is one of them.

I honestly don't understand the bad reviews. I get that some people might feel that it's not "interesting" enough but personally, I don't feel like everything needs to have 37 different notes to be pleasing. This is simple and beautiful in my opinion. Something easy to reach for without having to think about it. I do, however, think that it's a little steep in price for what it is. Nonetheless, I really like it a lot. For some reason it gives me the same vibe as Valentino's Voce Viva. They don't smell the same but they share some of the same notes so I get how it was mentioned in the "Reminds Me Of" section. I would easily consider it to be a safe blind buy.

I really disliked this perfume the first few times I used it. It was an expensive blind buy for me and I felt very disappointed each time it smelled quite strongly bad. I don’t know why. Covid? I tried it today. Again. Probably for the 10th time. The 10th time was the charm. It is really nice! Extremely feminine and now I like it and I wanted to log in here and write it. I wanted to like it and now I can’t believe that I do. I’m very happy now. I bought it for the notes and I can smell them today. Maybe my bottle was too fresh?? It smells very different than when I first tried it. I don’t know why and I’m glad I kept it. It’s pretty just like I wanted!!!

Good Fortune is not basic or boring. The Jasmine here dry's down to a vanilla and has lasting power than others. There's no trace of patchouli here for a nice change. I just don't get the dislike from this gem, this has it all & a bit spicy, and sweet. It's also a creamy floral. I get more than 8+ hours of wear; others will detect it when you can't. The notes are not an exact match here except the creamy jasmine. The Madagascar vanilla with the Bourbon rounds it out makes this feel expensive. I loved this fragrance from its release date and have my back up bottle - I love its edginess, a slight powdery touch that feels modern and nostalgic BAM !🔮

My partner describes this fragrance as "vanilla, love, and warmth." It's simple, attractive, and although it's definitely floral it's not overpowering at all. I find that it wears very well on my skin, and it has actually become my signature scent because I wear it so often. I am disappointed that it has been discontinued, I ordered 3 bottles and hope it keeps well. I love the fennel in this! I know fennel can be polarizing, but I find it inviting and warm when it settles on my skin. It feels like a floral spring morning upon application, but after a few hours it fades into an evening fall vibe that is cozy and comfortable.

I love love love this on my skin. On me, Good Fortune is a cup of warm Jasmine Green tea nested in my hands in a ceramic mug while I'm sitting in my favorite vegan Dim Sum restuarant on a cool fall evening. This perfume transported me to that exact moment and is just a blissful experience for me. I'm not familiar with gentian flower as a note. This is the first perfume I've tried with it. To me it's a beautiful warm Jasmine Green Tea and it has earned a permanent spot in my collection. This perfume is very polarizing though, so beware. Test it in person or get a sample and give it some good wear time.

I love, love, love this perfume. It has a villainous opening, which is the part of the perfume post-Endgame Scarlet Witch would wear. However, on drying down, the perfume loses that vivaciousness, but this is not bad. To me, it still smells powerful but more sweet. The pre-Endgame Scarlet Witch would wear this part of the perfume. This perfume is a balance of good and evil, and I love it. Referring to sillage and longevity, I think both are moderate but since I only had a sample size, I'd like to see if spraying more of it would increase both of those. I will be picking up a full-sized bottle ASAP.
