Salty Flower

I LOVE Salty Flower, it's basically my signature scent. It's unfortunately discontinued, but I loved it enough to track down 2 full size bottles and a bunch of samples so that I'll never be without it! It can be a little chemically, like a chlorine cleaner at first spritz. And I agree with powdery and sunblocky. However, after a few minutes this perfume basically turns into a luxurious beach resort commercial. I am instantly transported to a fancy hotel room on the water with fresh linens, the curtains blowing out the french doors that lead to the beach. The tiniest bit of salt off the ocean landing on your skin. It's not a "tropical" beach. There's no fruity coconuts or anything. It's a really fresh beach with seaweed, green grass growing up from the sand dunes... White linens, straw hats etc... I love this PARTICULARLY for hot & humid weather because it blends right in (or camouflages?) my own salty / sweaty body odor when I'm overheated. But it does eventually dry down into a creamy musk that could work for cooler weather too :) Salty Flower Forever!

Hey all, Bath and Body Works just released a new scent called "Coastal Dreaming" that is identical to VRSF. VRSF was one of my first "big girl" perfumes. I even drove to Canada to get a backup bottle when it became discontinued in the U.S. so of course I understand how special this scent is. I work at BBW and when i smelled Coastal Dreaming, i knew it was the same. I brought in my VRSF and compared them side by side. It is spot on! Accoring to BBW, there are only like 5 major 'scent manufactuerers' that produce all the perfumes for all the designers. BBW works with 3 of them. So it's very possible that BBW can access the exact same formulas and accords that Viktor & Rolf have used. (Like how BBW duped 'Flowerbomb' in their luxury collection.) Give it a try, it's lovely! Almost perfect 100% match, and a fraction of the price.

Review is for my own future reference - I LOVE the smell of this perfume. It reminds me of being a kid at Rickett's Lane/Ball Park Beach!! <3 It smells like you just got out of the water and you are cuddled up in your towel smelling your warm skin that has a mix of salty water and sunscreen, but in the best way possible. Thinking of boys on the beach :) I almost bought a full bottle on sale, but it sold out fast. It's overpriced, but I love it! You can really smell the saltiness. It smells so much like a memory to me. It could be unisex for sure. Smelling this again tonight.. OMG it's so friggin good, so damn yummy! Slightly masculine but def fem enough to wear. reminds me of being young on the beach wanting to snuggle up with a hottie. Why does this have to be so expensive and discontinued!? :(

My heart is broken. After finishing the prized 2mL sample I had gotten from Sephora (almost a decade ago now, wow), I finally found a relatively affordable (still extortionately high) bottle from a reseller. Some possibilities: that bottle I bought is fake, my nose has changed, or the bottle has gone off. In any case, Salty Flower, which I used to fantasize about as the ideal fragrance, now smells almost dusty to me. The white flower in my bottle has a strangely antique, almost grandmotherly quality that reminds me of Kenzo World Power. I wish I could go back to how this smelled to me a few years ago--which was sexy yet fresh, and creamy without being a gourmand.

I adore this fragrance and so does my husband. I found it only after it was discontinued. I also bought 2 samples sizes and 2 full size bottles, on Ebay, etc. so hopefully I never run out. It's the smell I have always been looking for. In the Hawaiian language there is a word and a name too, Moani, meaning "wind blown fragrance" and that is what this perfume reminds me of....refreshing trade winds blowing the fragrance of plumeria, tuberose and pikake over the water as you rest by the beach. I put it on and feel like a tropical goddess or a mermaid! It's funny how some people smell powder as I detest powdery fragrances.
