Sun Cities by Vilhelm Parfumerie – A Fruity Ganymede That Wins In my opinion, Sun Cities by Vilhelm Parfumerie is everything I wanted Ganymede to be—and more. Don’t get me wrong, Ganymede is unique and artistic, but sometimes it leans too abstract, too mineral, too sharp. Sun Cities takes that same modern, spacey Ganymede structure and infuses it with a lush, juicy fruitiness—especially a bright pineapple note that instantly makes it more inviting. Think of it as a fruity Ganymede that feels warmer, smoother, and way more wearable. Where Ganymede can come off cold or divisive, Sun Cities is compliment galore. People notice it. People love it. It’s sophisticated, but it has that spark that makes strangers lean in and ask, “What are you wearing?” The performance is great—not overpowering, but it leaves a trail. It wears beautifully in warm weather and has just enough character to stand out in cooler temps too. ⸻ 🔥 Verdict: Sun Cities beats Ganymede for me. It’s fun, elegant, and magnetic— a Ganymede with a tropical smile.

The hate is NOT deserved. Juicy pineapple. You get this Aventus DNA with more vibrancy and a delicious pineapple. There is some great faint and powdery leather. Y'all need to go smell this. Glad to find this in Romania! Sweet woody and fruity!

I actually tested this after my initial comment lol I actually really enjoy this! As other reviews have stated there is an element of disappointment because this doesn’t feel super original or new. When I first tested this I was mostly just getting Ganymede with an insanely realistic juicy ripe pineapple. On my skin, the pineapple lasts for the majority of the wear time. As I’ve tested it more I’m starting to get the BR540 dna mixed in there. I am a big fan of br540 and Ganymede so naturally I really love this. The pineapple is sooo juicy and ripe you can almost taste it. I love the new bottles they put the triptych collection in as well. However, at $300 I can not justify purchasing a full bottle at this time as I already own Ganymede And Electimuss Trajan which is a citrusy BR540 type fragrance. This would be perfect for a party or outdoor concert in hot summertime. I’m hoping one of the other triptych fragrances will be unique enough for me to add to my collection.

In love with pineapple, but loved it more on paper than on my skin. Because cardemom and saffron are so prominent on my skin, this fragrance pulls a bit too spicy on my skin. An untrained nose might call it gingerbread like. After a little while it falls a bit flat on me. and because of that, it reminds me of la petite robe noire by Givenchy, but more cardemom like. Intersex? Yes, but for my taste not for women or men. So great for a non binary person I think. But it ain't a crowd pleaser.

Fragrantica you better cool it with these ads they’re making your site unusable!!! This is ridiculous. Find a way to make money that doesn’t take away from your users experiences or your users will disappear.

Such a pretty juicy pineapple opening! Unfortunately the Saffron kills it for me. Saffron pulls a little BO on my skin and I'm not a fan... If you like Baccarat, you'll like this DNA.

Sun Cities feels like Ganymede with a layer of pineapple on top—an odd juxtaposition that doesn’t fully resolve into something compelling. While the house has historically shown a bold, imaginative streak, this latest release falls flat for me. Ever since Sparkling Jo, the compositions have taken a noticeable turn—less refined, more synthetic, and missing the emotional depth that earlier Vilhelm perfumes carried so effortlessly. The older creations had personality, texture, and daring charm. I urge you to revisit standouts like Body Paint, Chicago High, Dirty Velvet, Smoke Show, Opus Kore, Room Service, 125th & Bloom, and Darling Nikki.

I just tried this at a local perfumery here in Chicago. On my skin, I get nothing from the fruits or pineapple. It's mostly Ganymede with more cumin and something that reminds me of barley from beer. Interesting, but I prefer Ganymede to this. It's okay, but I would test before buying, even if you like the Ganymede DNA.

Yuck. Disclaimer: I am NOT a fruity or sweet scent lover. At first whiff, this smells like artificial grape medicine. On my skin, I can smell the leather, and on my clothes, the pineapple comes out. This is SO sweet that it makes my stomach turn. At $350?? I would never.

Frankenstein monster, dat you???? Starts like aventus only with citrus overdrive, wears like ganymede dupe in the mid, dries down into baccarat rouge bandaid saffranol.

This reminds me of a mixture of Ganymede and Hallucinogenic Pearl; HP is one of my favorite scents. It reminds me of minerals made on the dark side of the moon and a pristine brand new tire shop and not in a “why would someone want to smell like that” type of way, but more in a “omg I never knew I’d want to smell like that” type of way. It’s interesting, surprising and fantastic. Unisex and addictive.

I can definitely understand when people say this smells like a sweeter version of Ganymede. It’s that DNA with pineapple and a cumin note sneaking in somewhere in the top or mid. The sweet and effervescent quality of it also reminds me of Baccarat Rouge 540.

This smelt like a lolly to me. Nothing like Ganymede or aventus lol
