Capri

I got this as a gift in a pack of 4 miniatures (Vince Camuto, Fiori, Amore and Capri) and I thought just by reading the notes that I will like Capri the most. After testing them all I do prefer Capri and Fiori. I don't know why, but Fragrantica doesn't list all the notes, here is the complete list from Parfumo (and I do clearly smell missing notes): Top Notes: Pink grapefruit, Violet leaf, Pear Heart Notes: Violet, Peach blossom, Red Frangipani Base Notes: Musk, Vanilla, Woods Capri was created by Richard Herpin. When I initially smelled this fragrance from the bottle I thought it's flat and mundane, but after testing I can say that it's multidimensional and profound, not too much, but enough not to be boring. After I went to bed with a drop of Capri on my wrist (haha, bringing perfume with me to bed always lets me see it from a different perspective, feel it better and let it grow on me, assuming it isn't a big NO from the first sniff) I can say I loved it. Loved it enough to buy a 30 ml bottle and a body lotion. It's clean and fresh, not sparkling and crisp fresh, but fresh in a very calm and soothing way. When I put it on, it's not pushing me to conquer the world, but rather enjoy the beauty around me, slow down and be happy. It's almost therapeutic. I very clearly smell pear at the opening - it's sweet, ripe, juicy and joyful. Violet leaf adds ozonic and aquatic notes. Then I clearly smell frangipani (which is why white floral should also be added to the description of the notes) and juicy, powdery and tiny bit sour peach blossom. The dry down gives me musky violet+vanilla - very calm, quiet, warm, invigorating. The only drawback is the performance. It's very weak - turns into skin scent within an hour. It could become my signature scent if it would be stronger. To feel it I need to reapply 5 times a day or right before meeting someone (I carried it with me in a spray atomizer). Also I don't like the bottle at all - it cheapens the perfume. If put in a dark blue or black tall glass bottle it would have a totally different vibe - it would remind me of walking in a garden full of blossoming frangipani on a quiet warm night when your shoulders are caressed by very calming and soothing breeze. I like putting a drop of Capri on each wrist at bed time - it's light enough not to disturb me, it's soothing and helps me to unwind, relax and slow down, brings my feelings and my mind to harmony and equilibrium.

My husband bought this fragrance for my mom for Christmas, after I spot smelled it for her and thought oh wow this is amazing. I wanted it so badly for myself, but knew it was the holidays and would ask for it as a gift. So he got for Mom and I asked for it from a dear friend. My mother got it for Christmas and adored it. Wore it several times after around me and it just lingered and wore so well on her! I of course who wanted it so badly never got it from the friend! So I waited and waited till I found a good deal on eBay and snagged a large bottle. Hands down in my 10-11 year’s of collecting fragrance this is in my top 5. Sentimental value and just the scent. It’s sheer, gorgeous, and just envelopes you with total, aquatic beauty. I get THE ABSOLUTE MOST COMPLIMENTS!!! When I wear this! Men, women! Everyone! I swear even my animals flock to me. This fragrance is a ding ding winner. The moment my bottle become’s “low” I will re-stock. Simply a winning fragrance and an absolute signature.

If you like a snazzy, light crisp scent with well done floral notes, then give "Capri" by Vince Camuto a go. I think is is one of the scents that I would like to wear with a casual white shirt or cotton blend dress with beautiful embroidery, you know. I love the violet notes in this as well, although with the other notes it seems a tad metallic. "Capri" is friendly luxury and that clean cashmere musk and vanillic dry down is gorgeous. Longevity is 6 hours or more and I have the feeling that radiation would be greater with a heavier application, so I can't say its a skin scent after so many hours of wear. Good for a gorgeous get away! Picked up this one too as part of a .25 mini packet with Vince Camuto, Fiori and Amore. Its not my firm favourite but it is a classy designer fragrance.

Capri is a floral, "clean" scent that has become one of my office fragrances since it's inoffensive. To be honest, I prefer the drydown over its opening scent. On my experience with the first spray, it smelled like something chemical so I was afraid I would not like it. Good thing it did not happen ever again. Also, I love the sprayer of this perfume because pressing down was so smooth. This has an intimate sillage and moderate longevity but if opersprayed, it can last through the whole day on my clothes, and that's when it smells the nicest.

On my 2nd bottle. First one went bad due to bad storage area & heat. BUT I’m glad to have a fresh new full bottle. It’s been a favorite of mine for many many years now. Never got the hype on any of the others but this one is deserving of all that hype and more. I’m very tempted to buy a back up bottle or 2 as well since it’s so affordable. I also bought the tiny mini bottle for decorative purposes, last night. Lol

When I first smelled it I knew I'd smelled it before and finally figured out that it reminds me of the original fragrance of Moroccanoil Hair Serum. I have only a scent strip of the Capri but I have a new bottle of the serum. The serum has a stronger vanilla scent until it is applied. That's what Capri reminds me of, the scent of the Moroccanoil 1⁄2 hour after applying it!

just like everybody said it totally reminds me Cool Water Davidoff! I really wanted an aquatic perfume, so i think it's perfect for me even though it was a blind buy. It kinda reminds me rainy weather and the violets are so vibrant! I wouldn't spend over 20$ for this bottle too, i bought it for 17$ a 30ml bottle, still it's worth it

Blind bought it, I got it because I'm a Capricorn & I thought it was a cute coincidence. I have to say it's one of my favourite EDP, eternal longevity on my skin! 2nd day & even tho I got a shower, I can still smell the violets. Also, really cheap! Buying a second bottle since it is discontinued.

For me it is (was) quite 90s' - early 00s' type of scent. I blind bought it a few years ago based only the name, to wear it on our holiday in Naples. The first tries were disappointing: it reminded me on a scent that was very-very popular in the late 90s and which I truly hated. Finally I did not even take Capri with me on the vacation, as far as I remember, and I buried it deep in the closet. Later on I gave it a few more tries and did not feel it that old fashioned and similar to that terrible scent anymore. Last summer was the real turning point in our relationship: I found myself reaching for Capri more and more often. I started to appreciate its charm and simplicity: it is a nice floral-fruity-aquatic sent for hot weather when you do not need something very refined and sophisticated, just a refreshing, light summer breeze. It is indeed very similar to many shower gels and body mists but has better quality (though longevity is not that great). An easy-to-wear fragrance for the beach, vacation or loose summer days.

Light, fruity violet. The violet provides a strong aquatic feel, but there's no marine or salt notes to be found. Capri goes on with a blast of perfumey pear, then reveals gradually more violet, though the fruit never goes away. As a powder bomb lover, I didn't find this very powdery, but your milage may vary. If, like me, your peak mall days were in the mid to late aughts, you'll probably find this a bit nostalgic. It does smell like every mid to high-end clothing store from those days. That's not a time period I want to return to very often, but an occasional trip can be fun. I've been layering Capri body mist with Royal Violets (a dirt cheap powdery violet) and that combo scratches my violet itch. I won't be repurchasing Capri, but I'm fairly pleased with my blind buy. It may seem like I'm damning with faint praise, but I can appreciate a workhorse scent like this. Sometimes you need a cheap, pleasant perfume that can be worn anywhere without attracting much comment. This is it!

This is very fresh and clean, my initial impression struck up images mentally of a crisp spring morning outdoors...it smells like late March or early April. It's light, but not waifishly so, it has some body to it. The violet meges into a lesser floral, more white/clean musk after about half an hour, but it's still a very *present* perfume. If oversprayed or used in high heat, it could be one of those "aggressively clean" fragrances. Be careful. In the winter air though, it's very pleasant. It's slightly oldschool, and the violet is very apparent and true to form. It's nice, though it verges on bygone vibes. I don't get anything overtly Italian in this, but I suppose it makes sense if this is intended to be a Parma violet? Even so, this feels more suitable for spring and reminds me of it strongly, and less so a summer on an Italian beach. This is petal skirts and pastel kitten heels, pearl earrings and muted lipstick 🥿💄

This is a pleasant, light scent that's great for spring or summer. The violet note comes through most prominently on me, and it leans almost a bit aquatic, too, in the beginning. As it dries down, I found it becoming a bit muskier than I usually like. This would be a nice beach day scent, or a good perfume choice for spending time by the ocean. However, because it is so light, it doesn't last long, and I find it to be quite simple. I can't really see myself wearing this unless I'm near the water, or I'm running late and just need to spray something on quickly. It's inoffensive and soft, fresh and sweet, enjoyable and nice, but it doesn't really go beyond that. It's not complex, it doesn't project, and the longer you wear it, the muskier it gets, which I don't particularly enjoy.

This Vince Camuto perfume is "nice", soft and simple, definitely no bellini in this one as in Fiori, which I also have and like. Capri seems like a quiet musky floral aquatic that would be considered a "safe" fragrance if you want to go somewhere or meet someone and you are concerned about your fragrance being too strong. This is soft enough it can almost seem inconspicuous when compared to other perfumes, I don't see how anyone would be offended by it. That said, there's nothing really unique or all that interesting about it, but if you're looking for something that's easy to wear especially for work or out shopping, this seems well suited for something like that. I would not purchase it again but will enjoy wearing what I have of it.

I know this is going to sound strange, but I think most of us here will understand. This is very "fruity" for a "citrus" smell. It's very old fashioned smelling. Think of the girls locker room in the 90s, when the title of your favorite "fragrance" is Pearberry. I guess I'm getting old school bbw vibes. Like many brands, most all of Vince Camutos releases smell alike. When every single release has something in common with every single perfume they've released so far, it's time for the perfumist to just throw out their "base" with the bathwater.

Like all the other scents in this series, it's light, fresh, sweet, a little floral, and a little fruity. Perfectly safe for the office. I feel like it would be difficult to over-spray. I also think this line of fragrances is more ideal for teens as an entry to the fragrance world. See if it's available from Nordstrom Rack before buying at Macy's or another department store. I'd be disappointed if I paid more than $25 for this.

Much more fruity than what I expected given the notes. I have a hard time believing those are the only notes in this pretty perfume. All in all this scent is light, a bit linear maybe, but nice. It smells a tad familiar like it's been done many times before. Definitely office-safe. Great for a beach or boardwalk stroll! I like it, and will definitely keep my bottle but I don't know that I'll buy it again.

I have a rollerball of this that's two years old and when I first opened it to apply some (after nearly a year of sitting in a cool place) the smell of acetone hit me hard and I nearly gagged. I suspect the citrus notes have gone rancid because in a few minutes I smell the violet and musk. Just can't get past that horrid acetone opening, but I don't want to toss the bottle yet, either.

I know I reviewed this earlier, but that was without actually trying it on my skin. Now I actually own a rollerball of this. I am surprised by how musky this is! It is more grown-up than I remember it being (since I don't usually consider musky fragrances to be youthful). I can smell the floral/fruity edge to this, but MAN is that a lot of musk!

Ok, l think l figured it out. Maybe the vanilla mixed with the orange citrus is what gives this such a fruity smell. I understand that citruses are in fact fruit, but you all know what l mean here. I like it, but l don't love it like his fiore, which, of course, is a dupe of tender chance, and l love chanel

This is a nice light freshie. Something about it reminds me a bit of Versace bright crystal. Easy, breezy, summertime scent. The lasting power is laughable. 3 hours is being generous. If you find it at a discounter it's a safe purchase to throw in your gym bag or beach bag.

I smell nothing but flowers, it reminds me of a tropical vacation. It's a fairly nice scent, but I probably won't buy a full bottle after I use up the sample I got with another perfume purchase. It almost seems more like a scent you would spray on linens than a perfume.

A light, fresh citrus-y floral that I love! On my skin only lasted about 4 hours, but I love it enough to reapply as needed. Great scent for warm desert days of which we have plenty in Vegas. Going to buy a backup bottle so I don't run out!

I love the violet undertone, floral and sweet. Violets are such an underated fragrance. Not super strong, nice spring time floral scent, inoffensive, but it's not a particularly outstanding, or one of a kind perfume.

If you love 90s aquatics and violets you'll love this. Super strong a little goes a long way. Very very pretty

A wispy, artificial sweet scent that slips through your fingers. It's okay. I wish more "fresh" fragrances had a bit more intention to them. It's IS possible to both be fresh and maintain a presence. Capri doesn't have much to say. I assumed/hoped it would be more aquatic (which I love) but it's mostly sweeter floral. I just sniffed again and now I'm really getting fabric softener. A safe choice I'd pick if I were running late and needed to spray myself with something real quick before heading out. The bottle is the prettiest part!

mainly a citrusy violet and is another airy, clean scent not a very big fan of this, it reminds me of a cleaning product camuto has better fragrances

I was very excited to try this because I love a powdery perfume this one's main accord was "powdery". I did not get powdery at all, it is very bright fruity and citric. I did not think it was a dupe for chance tendre. It is not bad at all and I thought I would keep it because it is a fresh scent that could be good for the gym but I get a very screechy synthetic scent, that is headache/ nausea inducing for me. I agree with the comparison with Alfred Sung Shi, because I got the same feeling from that one.

The initial spray was wonderful but within 2-3 minutes, it turned and smells like Santa Monica beach after raw sewage has dirtied the water. Beautiful bottle to put on my vanity but the fragrance is a big NO.

Opening was unremarkable. Left the sort of scent trail you taste as much as smell and after 3 minutes it made my nose run. After 20 minutes it was a skin scent.

The powder is very sharp and loud. Absolutely NOT my story.

I've seen this one before in Burlington and read the notes but at that time decided not to get this. Tonight however, I had an itch to purchase something and I saw this and read a few reviews and I was intrigued so I picked it up. The 1oz bottle was $14.99. I sniffed it from the bottle in the car and felt excited then when I got home I sprayed it on a tissue. I like the scent so I then sprayed it one my arm and shirt which I usually don't do right way when testing a new scent. I like this!! At first I thought it was more of a cold weather scent but the more I'm smelling it, it's like an anytime floral. I was looking for a violet scent w/musk at one point and read the notes in this but just thought it would be a basic boring sweet scent. I'm pleasantly surprised. No it's not groundbreaking but it's the type of scent I've been wanting, just pretty florals that can be worn anytime. Also it's not too sophisticated but also not too kiddish either. A perfect balance inbetween. I cant wait to test this more and especially in the spring. I have the perfect outfit for this and I was looking for a scent to wear with it. Very happy with this purchase!! Update: I finally got to spray this one after a shower this morning and I love it so much. Its not a super unique scent but just a really pretty soft floral that may work in many different seasons. Its currently winter and granted I'm not going outdoors today but this just may be okay if sprayed a bit heavier for cooler months. Love the violets!!

I don't know how reliable this note matrix is--I am getting a few notes that don't seem to be mentioned here. This opens with a fresh aquatic note--not overly salty or "Cool Water" esque, but definitely aquatic. It's fresh, but it's soft and not bracing. I get a tinge of that 'hairspray' note that happens when I smell fruity florals, but it's also not unpleasant. The drydown on this one is citrus, violet, musk and vanilla with the citruses staying quite some time at the forefront, giving it a clean, bright feel. It lingers for awhile but softly, I could see this one being inoffensive in the work place or a family gathering. Perfect for spring or summer.

This is a fist impression so I’ll likely come back after a full wear, but I’m loving this. It’s nothing like Cool Water (also a love of mine) aside from it being blue 🤔 , and as an aquatics lover and being on a major violet kick I went ahead and blind bought and she doesn’t disappoint. I’m getting mainly violets rn (not mad at that! ❤️) and although I originally planned to pair it with EOS Fresh and Cosy lotion (which IS v similar to Cool Water) based on the reviews here, I think I’ll pair with a mild vanilla instead, Warm Vanilla Sugar most likely. Off to shower and give this beauty a real test drive, I’ll be back if there’s anything worth adding.

I loved this scent from the bottle. That being said, I was a big fan of the philosophy field of flowers violet blossom lotion years ago. I wore that daily and it was just so clean. This starts off a mix of citrus and violet that is so feminine and pleasant. On the dry down I start to get more violet and musk....I wish less musk, but frags tend to do that on my skin. The mix is almost....hairspray-ish. Not in a bad way, but definitely not the best for my chemistry. Theres something aquatic there as well, but I doubt others will smell that on me after a short while. Overall, I like but need to wear it more for sure.

Agreed with the 'heavy floral aquatic' description. It reminds me of these violet scented bath cubes my grandmother used to get when I was little. She'd keep them in her chest of drawers with her clothes to fragrance their contents and didn't use them in the bath until all but the faintest trace of scent was gone from them. This is that same powdery violet fragrance turned up to 'high'.

My husband just bought me this perfume and huge surprise I love it! I had looked up the notes and didn't think I'd like it. So many references to aquatic and cool water, thats not my vibe at all. I actually get floral and musk. It actually reminds me of Armani Si Fiori but with none of the sweetness added. Even though I tend to go for sweeter scents, this perfume is still a win for me.

There's supposed to be violet in Capri, but I can't find it. There is a lot of musk and a bit of sweet citrus. C. is a fresh fragrance, despite the musk. Unisex, designed for the younger consumer. C. has little sillage and longevity, making it work safe. It's generic, unexceptional and wearable. The bottle is a pentagon, an shape rarely seen in perfumes.

I am not a huge floral fan, so this one isn't a love for me. It smells like a generic fruity-floral body spray to me. There is also an aromatic aquatic note I am getting that doesn't appeal to me. If you like trendy fruity floral scents, this may be a perfect summer scent! Dries down to more violet than citrus on the base notes.

This is pretty. I wouldn't spend more than $20 for it at Burlington or Ross, which is where I got a 3.4oz. But, it is pretty. I feel like any girl that isn't "into" fragrances & just wants to smell good, would like this. Citrusy violets. Decent longevity for what it is. Don't pay full retail though.

Fresh, simple floral with cool, almost watery notes. Not a ton going on in this but very fresh and clean. None of the Camuto fragrances are complex and this might be the simplest but it's enjoyable all the same. Reminds me of a waterfall.

This is a lot fruitier & sweeter than I was expecting. Its basically a nice, sweet, summer floral. Nothing to really set it apart from any other floral. Ill finish the bottle but there is nothing here that makes me want to rebuy this.

A beautiful fruity aquatic scent! This is definitely a dupe for Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream. I actually prefer Capri, it doesn't have any of the sharpness I got from Daisy Dream.

Absolutely love this ,,, to me it’s aquatic, sharp violet flowers and slightly powdery . I really enjoy it . Perfect for summer days to feel beautiful and girly and fresh .

Capri is a soft but long lasting scent on me. Pretty, a breeze of fresh, sweet, powdery violets. A waterfall breeze with sweet flowers in it. I like this. Very Nice.

I absolutely love this fragrance. My coworker had this on and I just had to buy a bottle for myself. Nice crisp citrusy floral. You wont be disappointed.

I love violets so if anyone wants to trade this one for Amore, I'm down. 1oz box included. Sprayed 5x. USA.
