Magic Hour

My first try of the new 2024 quartet from Vivamor Parfums is Magic Hour, a bright and rich cocktail of pina colada (pineapple, coconut, rum) that’s seasoned by a variety of spices (ginger, cinnamon cardamom). It’s fresh and invigorating but also has depth, and is one of the better cocktail manifestations that comes to mind, really a deep pina colada experience that’s rendered more wearable by the spices. And it performs very well, so I’m quite pleased and impressed by the overall experience. Evolution-wise, it starts out a bit tarter and sharper and gradually dries down to be a bit creamier and sweeter, as one might expect. Like some of the other recent releases, Magic Hour is priced at $125 for 100ml in extrait concentration, continuing a great value since the brand’s launch in late 2022 by the creators of Navitus Parfums. There’s also currently a discovery set that includes the four new 2024 releases as well as the late 2023 Dubai Reverie. Currently these are only available on the house site but I expect they’ll soon be available via retailers like Perfumology that carry the brand. 8 out of 10

In the opening this is a ambery sweet pina colada. Juicy and citrusy pineapple with a very mild hint of cardamom and ginger. After 2-3 hours it looses the pineapple and fruitiness and dries down into a heavy, sweet, amber and oakmoss and stays there for a while. Good longevity with moderate projection for the first couple hours. Quite unisex, but leans ever so slightly masculine. I wish this was less sweet and the pineapple lasted longer, but for the price it is a good tropical fragrance and comes in a 100ml extrait concentration.

Very nice once the dry down hits, but that opening is a no. If you do not like moss I suggest not blind buying this one because you will regret it. The moss is prominent in the opening. Thankfully, it tones down and sits in the background. I don't know why the perfumer would make the moss such a prominent note for this fragrance. For me it's no deal breaker, it's still a fun, fruity, piña colada cocktail. This is unisex leaning masculine with good longevity and projection.

Masculine - yes it's pina colada but with a cuminy drydown. I think this would smell much better on a man than it did on me. My least favourite of the Vivamor Summer discovery set. Despite the pina colada note I don't think this is necessarily limited to being a Summer fragrance - but definitely masculine . For myself I don't like it at all.

this was the first fragrance i tried from the new discovery set and so far have been let down by the 3 ive tried (magic hour, tagomango, dubai reverie) this one definitely smells like a pina colada but doesnt really evolve much throughout the day. One time wearing this is enough for me
