Etoile d'Or

I'm not a fan of opening part.It opens sharp and not really pretty.I can smell lots of bergamot,powder,leather and lavender in the opening.there was something shalimarish in it but give it some time and magic happens Bergamot calms down in ten minutes and leather softens to a warm,skin like suede.lavender and powder wrapped in benzoin shine through middle phase which isn't my favorite part yet.I start to like it as rose and moss show up.lavender,rose and powder sit on a base of moss and musky suede grounded by slight hint of Tonka and benzoin. I can feel almost all the listed notes though it's very well blended.I really can't explain it but it smells very perfumey,clean and beautiful.there's a classic vibe here but it doesn't smell old.I don't like the first half an hour but as time passes it becomes more and more beautiful.it feels clean and sexy Volnay Etoile is the second volnay fragrance that I like a lot(other one is objet) Make sure to try it on your skin and give it enough time since there are dramatic change of notes here Unlike most similar scents it has very good sillage and is not a faint skinscent ❤❤❤❤ حتماً حتماً به این عطر حداقل نیم ساعت زمان بدید و حتماً رو پوستتون امتحانش کنید قادر به توصیفش نیستم فقط همینو میتونم بگم که شروع چندان خوشایند نداره اما تو ادامه تبدیل به یه ترکیب بسیار زیبا و بهشتی و لطیف از پودر و لاوندر و رز و مشک و خزه و جیر میشه.عطری تمیز و لطیف و سکسی وشبیه به پوست پودر زده و تمیز و عطر زده.پخش و موندگاری خیلی خوبی هم داره

Etoile d'Or is another example of where the interplay between lavender and rose entices me. There is just something about their synergy that fires off happy neurons in my brain, especially when led by an invigorating bergamot. I am reminded of the great Hamman Bouquet. However this, accompanied by a boudoir powder, a rubbery, almost petrol-like suede, and a slug of clove, adds even more of this bygone dressing table splendor. There's also a mildly sweet and alluring, musky dry down. Reimagined from the original 1925 Volnay release, perfumer Amelie Bourgeois managed to encapsulate the spirit of such a fragrance from that era, taking care not to transcribe to the point where it would be difficult to wear in modern times. It is also wholly unisex, if a bit "dandy" (we love), and those who want a gratifying variation of Habit Rouge that isn't delivered through its myriad flankers may find Etoile d'Or to be a treat. It makes me feel like donning my finest fedora, grab my derby cane and take a stroll through the gardens.

Etoil d'or is a beautiful and very powdery oriental. It is Also very citrusy. The whole perfume goes, in my opinión, around the rose, which is present all the time. The lavender gives some dry vibe to the fragance and It has also a very spicy character. The dry down is sweet and balsámic with musk and a bit of soft suede. It is like mixing shalimar by guerlain with White suede by Tom Ford. The longevity is good, more than 8 hours, but with a very soft projection from the beggining. It is unisex, sweet and powdery, very versatile and nice for day time when the sun is not too intense. Scent: 8 Longevity: 8 Sillage: 6 Quality/price: 5 Versatility: 7 Originality: 7 Global: 8

An instant love. I have a lot of decants in this genre, but I’d settle for a full bottle of just this one. It’s like Shalimar meets Obsession, but the lavender gives it a slight masculine edge. Very powdery in the best way, the perfect amount of sweetness, the leather is delicious, and the oak moss gives it that almost hairspray quality that Obsession has. The strength is good, can smell the small spritz on my wrist an arms length away, leaves a beautiful trail. I’m really impressed with this house, and the bottle design is just so pretty. I would love to visit their store in Grasse. Doing perfume right.

What a perfume!what a perfume,i'm in love,for me brings a bit of cinnamon,i have no idea why my skin sends this one cause i see it has not any in the notes.Amazing,first puff made my mouth water,and right after the musk and lavender just mixed up so beautiful!i have no idea how to explain this one because i'm guessing not every skin accepts it!as i've said in numerous reviews,mine is difficult and the normal fragrances smell almost the same.But this one i adore!

Very soft and very pretty. In the beginning I get the powder and the Tonka Bean, then a very soft suede comes through, but the rest, until the end is just powder. Those are the only three notes I ever get. I was so hoping to get the red rose most of all.

The fragrance smells lovely, however, it stays on me for 5 minutes. I guess it ́s not meant for me.

I received this as a freebie in a swap with the lovely Lpilcherpluspups. Looking at the notes, the five most noticeable are a mix of things I struggle with (lavender, cloves, powder, suede) and those I straight up hate (rose). Then there are the comparisons to Shalimar, which smells like baby bottoms to me no matter how many rave reviews I read or how many different versions I try. So yeah, to say I wasn’t looking forward to this is an understatement. You know how this ends of course, with me falling madly in love with the last fragrance on earth I would have chosen for myself. And I know it too, which is why I keep on trying the random things which come way. That’s the madness and magic of perfume. I’m always tracking what I like and don’t like, trying to find the secret formula to my most loved fragrances and I keep on finding love where I least expect it. So what does it smell like? At first it smells like something vintage, that sort of powdery animalic dressing table kind of thing. But, over time it becomes this gorgeous, warm, soft cloud with facets of lavender, rose and clove. Further along it loses that vintage vibe and becomes more streamlined and modern without losing its essential plushness. Into the dry down it gets warmer and sweeter as the benzoin becomes prominent. It’s one of those fragrances that go on forever and keep getting better as it fades, leaving you picking up delicious wafts from pillows and sweaters for days. I’m scheming to get my hands on a bottle.
