Taporo

Very pretty scent which makes me think of fairytales and spring. I smell lime with delicate spring buds (kinda like crocus, if I remember correctly) and new leaves in the background. The strawberry is not as strong as I'd hoped. Since I'm not usually a big citrus fan, there is too much lime in Taporo for it to be my regular thing. However, the perfume is well composed, fresh, uplifting and unique. I like to wear it once in a while. This review is for the roll-on perfume

I bought this based on a review because I thought when the reviewer said they smelled lime I was all in. However, when I received this Voluspa Fragrance Spray the lime was actually the fragrance of blooming Lime tree blossoms also called the Linden tree not the lime fruit or it's flower. They are and smell very different. The Linden tree does not produce lime fruit. The Linden blossom fragrance of this perfume is very powerful as well as the green leaf scent. The linden blossom is a "green" somewhat bitter and pungent smelling flower. Also interesting to note that the Linden tree which is also called the Lime tree is not related at all to the Lime fruit tree. The "green mandarin" is only noticeable on first spraying it on but then is quickly over powered by the linden blossom and green leaf fragrance. The cassis (Black Currant) is noticeable faintly in the background for a little longer period than the mandarin but it too fades quickly. I could not smell any "Big strawberry" as Voluspa describes unless it's blending in with the cassis and I can't distinguish it. This fragrance is similar to Voluspa's "Linden & Dark Moss" but with much more of the Linden flower blossom coming through in the Taporo. In the end this Taporo was a little too flowery for me to wear as a cologne, so I'm afraid I did not like it as a cologne. I do like the smell of the Linden blossom but only in moderation, so it would be better as a room spray used sparingly rather than a fragrance I would want to wear and have to smell all day. It does last a long time. However, if you love the fragrance of linden tree blossoms, you will probably love this one.
