Lonicera de Nuit

This is a really nice unisex fragrance, leaning every so slightly masculine due to the musky base. Out of the discovery set, this one I'm running through more quickly. It has 'boss girl' energy and a smooth dry down. I wouldn't be suprised if this gets labeled 'more mature', as it isn't like anything you will find in Sephora. Per the website, this is advertised as having 'green and woody notes'. I once had my perfume profile done (by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz in Boulder, CO) and learned that green, woody was my profile. If this is your profile as well, Lonicera is a must try.

Lonicera de Nuit was a blind-buy for me, as honeysuckle is one of my very favorite notes and is nearly impossible to find. Lately with it blooming all over the place, once again, I have been going nuts trying to find the perfect photorealistic honeysuckle perfume. When I heard about Lonicera de Nuit, I couldn't help but make a purchase. This isn't "it" for me. Judging by the name ("Nuit"), I should have known it would be heavier than I really wanted. Nevertheless, I do smell honeysuckle, but I wish it was stronger and pure. Here, it's intimately blended with animalic jasmine. It strikes me as more of a jasmine fragrance than a honeysuckle one. Smells like there could be hints of lush gardenia and tuberose too, a heavy-hitting white flower bomb that does not give vintage vibes. It's is a thick, musky, wild, languid late-summer white floral with green leaves. Actually it's lovely, don't get me wrong! I will simply tuck it away until mid-September and enjoy it when I am out on the river or seeking out a swimhole in the blazing California heat. If you love white floral perfumes, don't pass this one up to at least sample. One thing I really appreciate about this white floral perfume is that it doesn't smell tropical and beachy. I don't tend to like fragrances that smell tropical. It smells more like jungle or exotic forest than tropical island.
