Cabaret Nocturne

This is the fragrance that I was looking forward the most to try after I first read of these three fragrances that Visiteur just released. I mean, how can you not get excited by notes like tuberose, smoke, sandalwood, powdery notes, animalic notes, gin accord, pink pepper, orange, tobacco and cumin... and with this description: "A trendy bar in Lisbon used to be a brothel. Today, it’s a vibrant venue where the young go to enjoy themselves. Drinks are poured, glances are exchanged. The ambiance and decadent decor whisper dark secrets of the ghosts that still live within these walls." So what do I think of it now when I've properly tried it? To be completely honest it doesn't smell like I expected it to. I thought that it was going to be darker, more smoky and more dirty. Instead this is a fragrance that revolves around a truly beautiful and creamy tuberose with a slightly smoky/dirty background. The tuberose is the star of the show and if I close my eyes and inhale the beautiful cloud around me I picture myself sitting in a bar with red velvet curtains on the walls, with a drink in my hand and that a very handsome and naughty stranger is flirting with me. This fragrance is truly addictive and I really need a bottle of this. It was love at first sniff!

Orange powdery tuberose.. I can see this as the bloody red color cape of count Dracula! it's like cloying sweet but screams "I'm not" because of that spring orange that tricks the sniffer about the sweetness dosage by adding mild sourness to it with a touch of pepper. I can smell something fizzy, something smokey and i believe it is a fancy chamber or a trendy bar! i can see this as the smell of the bar where Vincent Brooks sits between levels in game "Catherine" by Atlus. On later stages i start to sniff that animalic notes within, i keep on sniffing cumin, sandalwood, & castoreum on a bed of tobacco powder. This blend takes me to some sensual journey, it's quite captivating, sweet, animalic, and sensual. Incredibly beautiful. I firstly wanted to sniff this blend in particular because of Janne's interview with Ksenia Golovanova here which left me breathless & secondly because of "Cecile Zarokian" which i really enjoyed her "Fêtes Persanes", "Kashnoir", & "Sheiduna", besides that beautiful mind of Janne and how he loves to add human undertone which i personally see it sensual and incredibly divine.

Cabaret Nocturne opens with sweet, creamy Tuberose. The powdery notes was a concern for me at first but this one is just the perfect amount. As it dries, it becomes a little animalic and smokey which personally I feel gives it a sexier more sensual vibe. Cabaret Nocturne becomes bolder by the minute. Imagine a trendy bar. Velvet curtains draped all around. The lights not too bright with your occasional spotlight here and there. Smoke fills the air. A big plank of wood covers the counter. A drink in your hand and a cigarette on the other. It’s the Kit Kat Club where Sally performs! Another plus on Cabaret Nocturne is its longevity. Lasting for over 12 hours on my skin on a cloudy day. Sillage is strong as well. What more could I ask for?

Wore this to the club last night. Dressed up with red lipstick, 80s shoulder pads and beret. I really did feel like the coolest kid ( I am 53), The skanky trail that this anamalic tuberose leaves is brutal. I wanted to be noticed. I actually have a hate / love obsession with tuberose . In the 80s I wore Fracas, not for the flower but for its unapologetic carnal skankiness.

It's the perfect scent for a modern glam rocker in the club's VIP sofa, surrounded by very sexy friends.

Inspired by the famous Pensão Amor bar in Lisbon, rebuilt from a brothel — Cabaret Nocturne opens up with a slightly repulsive, dirty, animalic, predatory tuberose-cumin combo that could easily portray the atmosphere of the tobacco smoked wooden panels in the mentioned establishment interior that just in fifteen minutes turns into a seductive, sweet, body odorous powder with a nice nose tickling pink pepper blotches. The later fragrance stages relocates me to a parlour where I detect smoke, gin and powdery body warmth smell so Cècile Zarokian has perfectly conveyed the idea of the concept. Addictive juice. ✨

I really like it, conceptually, like a cabaret, dark velvet curtains in Palace de putaines in Paris, with those smoke-infused furniture and carnal desires, but I just don't have any occasion to wear this. Still, a lovely composition.

Smells like musky clean laundry and fruity peach.

The scent profile of a man sweaty from partying hard wearing an 80s strong potent frag with bunch of ladies of the night around him on a sofa located in a club blasting music. Not for me! Onto the next sample!

I didn't really care for Cabaret Nocturne. the concept was promising; hoping for a high courtesan wearing tuberose perfume in a smoke stained brothel but it ended up smelling like chewing bubblegum after smoking clove cigs to cover up the smell. The tobacco and spices are not making the floral dirtier or more carnal; they are sitting on top like a masking layer. Once the tuberose starts reading as bubblegum underneath, the whole thing collapses into something more gourmand like in the base than a narcotic tuberose. So instead of a courtesan whose perfume has become impregnated with the room, it smells like someone actively trying to conceal what they were doing and despite the notes, it reads more generic than "niche".

Ok hear me out I will never ever wear this perfume. But it’s a vibe. Ladies from the night during the 80’s. they are wearing their fur coats, leather outfits. They are promiscuous, doing coke, smoking cigarettes and having sex in the bathroom. You can smell the sweat in the air (cumin), the cigarettes, dirty leather and 80’s Tuberose perfume in the air . Was this perfume created to be worn? I doubt it. It’s certainly great to time travel to a long gone era of debauchery though

Super soft, powdery tuberose with a lifelike ashiness without any of the burnt or harsh notes. Equally soft performance. It's there but definitely a more intimate scent. Sexy and pretty youthful for a tuberose dominated scent.
