Royce Black

Upon its initial spray "Royce Black" will give a swift nod in the direction of "One Million Prive" before immediately going in its own direction. Within the next minute or so you will catch wafts of fresh Green Apple, Pink Pepper, & a strong note of Oud thats both woody & soil-like earthy. The Oud note in this fragrance is also supported by a note of "Cypriol". Which all at once creates a subtle earthy, woody, smoky, leathery, medicinal, crude oil-like amalgamation of nuances that add the usual "Middle Eastern DNA" to this fragrance. I would describe this stage as smelling like a "Fruity Oud", due to the notes of Green Apple & Oud being the stars of the show with Pink Pepper backing them. Within this early stage the overall feel is more of a "darkened" Fresh/Spicy accord. Neither the Juniper Berries nor the Rosemary are stand out notes. What they do here is add depth to the Green Apple Note by enhancing its Green & Fruity Nuances. All of this takes place within the first 5 minutes, & then, as the Green Apple & Oud notes begin to fade to the background the Warm Spices take center stage, & this is where things get interesting. All at one this fragrance takes on the characteristics of both, Paco Rabanne's "One Million Prive", & Parfums De Marly's "Oajan". Switching the overall feel of this fragrance from Fresh/Spicy to Warm/Spicy with the introduction of Clove & Cinnamon. Theres a note of Iris here thats Powdery, which takes the Cinnamon & Clove in the direction of "Oajan". However, its important to note that these effects take place in the air. You wont be able to distinctly smell "One Million Prive" nor "Oajan" if you smell your skin up close. At the end of the day I wouldn't call "Royce Black" a clone of "One Million Prive", nor an alternative to it. As it is definitely its own fragrance. The dry down settles into this dark, Leathery, heavily Spiced, Oud fragrance that due the Cypriol, ends this fragrance not smelling like "One Million Prive", but rather, smelling like Zaharoff's "Leather Tabac", & I fucking love that ! ... This fragrance starts off beastly, but even the dry down of this fragrance, which should be a skin scent, has a strong projection & sillage. For only $20 this fragrance takes you on one hell of a ride.... which for me, turned out to be a beautiful journey.

Holy crap! 1 Million Prive, nearly 1:1 for $20! Well, not exactly - more like 75% 1MP and 25% Oajan, but it carries exactly the same effect and vibe if you enjoy either of those. Tobacco is missing and replaced with the honey-apple-musk of Oajan, but otherwise pretty much nails the Prive DNA. Seriously, if you liked Prive even a little, and were even a small fraction as heartbroken as I was when it got discontinued, you owe it to yourself to nab this immediately. It's hard to believe this is only $20. I've gotten 1MP (and Oajan by obvious extension) dupes from every clone house there is, as well as all the inspiration scents like Maluma Royalty Onyx (which I thought would be the replacement, not realizing that it only comes in 30ml) and nothing matches this one on both scent and longevity. You'll get an easy couple hours of good projection and at least 6-7 hours total duration on skin, probably much longer on clothes. It's legitimately criminal that this is $20 - I'd happily pay 3x that without thinking twice, and would consider paying even more. The bottle, especially for a cheapie, feels heavy and decently high quality as well, with a solid atomizer and satisfying metal click cap. I think the guy before me is overcomplicating the scent a lot. Obviously if you dig for individual notes you'll be able to recall another fragrance they're used in, but that certainly doesn't mean this fragrance smells like any of those. To me, as a huge Prive + Oajan lover, that's 100% what this scent is going for and happens to achieve almost perfectly. Saying that this smells like Sauvage, even in the slightest, just seems outlandishly bizarre lol. Not every sweet scent is Angel's Share/Khamrah either, although I can see why someone newer to fragrances might draw that conclusion... That DNA is kinda ubiquitous now and boozy-cinnamon-vanilla sweetness is domination both men and women's scents. Hell, even I said Fragrance du Bois London Oud smelled like Boss Bottled Night back in the day. The distinctions really only become more clear with more olfactory experience. Again, if you like Oajan or 1 Million Prive, this is a MUST buy.

This actually was very familiar to something I have and I tested side by side till the dry down. Not 1:1 or 100% but maybe about 90% the dry down on skin is similar to Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Signature. So I'm saying it "reminds me" of it. They both have pink pepper on top, the opening fruity note with Royce Black is from apple but the Ferragamo Uomo Signature comes from combo of sweet mandarin orange and touch of grapefruit, for the spiciness, Royce Black uses clove and Ferragamo Uomo Signature uses cinnamon instead, the little dustiness or powdery element with iris from Royce Black, dusty Tonka beans gives off the similar effect with Ferragamo, Royce Black says it has oud but almost undetectable but gives off a bit of leathery vibe as Ferragamo has a little bit of leather and coffee. Again, not a carbon copy for sure but they are in the same neighbourhood as it dries down on skin. They are both masculine, sweet spicy and elegant fragrance that last long time on skin. Although I do still prefer Ferragamo Uomo Signature a little more, Royce Black is still an excellent fragrance especially considering the price you pay.

This is one of my first ever fragrance, in an era when I knew nothing about fragrances, it was a gift. I returned back to this and took it from my old drawer. I'm literally shocked nowadays by it. The scent profile is a combo between 1 Million Prive and PDM Oajan and im not even kidding, it's less sweet than Oajan and with no tobacco involved unlike Prive but it smells very sexy and it's basically a spice-bomb. It's also got a noticeable apple top note I associated this scent profile with batman, it's got that Oajan character without the gourmand aspects. It's got a little bit of powderiness in the dry down from the iris and I can also spot some oud. The performance in this is also very good. 7-8hrs longevity with strong projection It's mainly a spicy cologne for winter only or cold date nights and some clubbing (wear this in a summer setting and you're gonna choke everyone out) The bottle is ok quality with nice sprayer. It feels illegal for this to be sold for only 20$ VURV Royce Black: spicy "sneezing inducing" bomb, dark, very affordable fragrance, Prive+Oajan with no sweetness. 9/10

Perfect for night occasions or intimate moments in the coldest months of the year

This perfume smells so fucking good man, I did not expect that from a 20$ bottle, makes no sense It smells sweet and can give off vibes like khamrah or similar perfumes but its not cloying sweet, it additional layers of freshness and herbal notes with some spices, but it feels balanced and just smells incredible. Its just that for some reason, for me, the performance is not as good as others have described, its still pretty decent but not something crazy, i could spray 8-10 times and it would still be ok and not a scent bomb. Maybe it will increase overtime, i got the bottle less than a month ago Overall, if you are considering getting a bottle for a fallwinter scent, this is an easy pick, its blind buy safe as well, no difficult notes for 20$ such a perfume feels like stealing just hope the performance will increase overtime

I've never smelled 1Million Prive, but if it smells like this it's probably the best, and most masculine 1Million flanker. Royce Black should be more well known because it's really good. It's April 18th and we had major storms that brought in some cooler weather giving me an excellent opportunity to wear this before fall. So I woke up in my own bed in the Ozarks and not Oz so I thought well it's 40 degrees so I'll wear one of my new fall scents. This is perfect balance between spicy, fruity, and sweet. It smells like a party guy who dressed up a little. While it's sweet and youthful it is also very spicy and warm, and a bit aromatic. There are some aspects of this that smell some what gentleman like which make it smell a little more formal(probably the iris). This stuff is awesome, and should be way more popular.

OKay hear me out. I have 1 Million Prive and Royce Black and I have to say that despite the opening being a bit different (because of the apple accord in Royce) and Royce scent profile being a bit more juicy and bit poorer in cinnamon notes I have to say they are really really close to each other. Performance-wise Royce claps 1 Million Prive hands down. It's holding on to my skin several hours later while Prive on my left wrist is just gone. Very blind buy safe, for that price it's literally stealing not spending.

1st things 1st, this is the Epitome of "reminds me of", I cannot speak to Oajan, but concerning 1 Million Prive, Royce Black is not a rendition of the it, it's more adjacent, same vibe, but the opening is different. If cinnamon is your thing, you won't find it here. That being said, the drydown IS 1MP(90+%) and RB is stronger all around. Easy blind buy recommendation even if it wasn't cheap (I paid $20), not to mention 1MP is discontinued, so this is probably the easiest way to a feel similar vibe

This thing is 🔥🔥 Projection and Silage is INCREDIBLE. Longevity is 8+hours on skin and 3+ days on clothes. I get a sweet plum like accord throughout the life of this fragrance. Some have said this smells very synthetic but I don't get any screechyness at all. You get a slight whiff of alcohol on initial spray, and that lasts ALL of 5 seconds. I don't know what 1 Million Prive smells like, but THIS smells wonderful!!

6-7 hours on skin with good projection the first 2 hours, very nice for when it's cold outside.Regarding the listed notes, I smell cinnamon, I smell a sugary type of citrus(closest thing to this scent could be orange jam) and a little powdery iris. Don't know how some people say they can smell the apple accord, I ran through 2 bottles of this and never truly felt this apple listed in the notes

This is an amazing fragrance the pepper and clove steals the show, room filler for sure so be careful with the sprays, all day performance the more you move around the more the this fragrance reacts. I've smelled one million preve' off a tester strip and this is so close to that DISCONTINUE fragrance it's silly. This isn't for the younger ones, this is grown man material with a purpose in mind

Solid cold weather gem. Anytime it's a night out and im not in the mood to sift through niche fragrances for 5 minutes, I spray this on. No need to think it's all there; Masculine aromatics, perfect woody backbone, sweetness to attract the attention. Very dense so spray with caution. If you're into sweeter type fragrances this is a blind buy win in my book.

Bought it, loved it, sold it for whatever reason and had to buy it again. Great scent for less than €20 🤯 Also idk what others are talking about, this having ok/poor performance. This shit lasts all day, and things usually don't perform well on my skin. This it's borderline beastmode, and at least I don't go nose blind, probably because of the cinnamon.

I’m smelling 1 million prive on my right hand and black Royce on my left hand. It’s so close to a one to one clone. Royce is a bit sweeter in the opening. But the dry down is where is becomes so close I can’t tell the difference. If you want a ridiculous close clone of 1 million prive just buy this one! You won’t regret it!

Lots of people here have no sense of smell and just review it by repeating the wrong notes on this site. I've never smelled 1M Prive, but this is pretty much a bit of Mandarin, a good dose of cinnamon and vanilla/Tonka, and a hint of tobacco. It's not "fresh", and has no apple. Performs EXTREMELY well.

This is a very beautiful gem .... I somehow smell cinnamon on my skin with this . It is not mass appealing it is either you love or hate it and the dry down that apple pie smell I love it !!!!

I had one million prive before,and when I sprayed this it had a different opening then prive and after 5 min comparing it to one million prive on my other hand it was hard to tell difference.

@Nashgane the performance compared to 1MP makes me think Paco smelled this and IMMEDIATELY removed Prive from the shelves😅😅😅 I prefer 1MP opening, but RB is worthy of carrying the torch

Should be illegal for the price. This lasts easily 10hours on skin and days on clothes, amazing performance,sillage ,smell is unique and amazing.10/10

I'm surprised to see that this hidden gem was released in 2019. This is a cheap easy buy. I'm glad I found it.

To be brief, it's essentially a shapeshifting honeyed apple-musk with hints of lavender, and clove in the mid, built on a standard synthetic woody amber. Ignore the note pyramid above. The scent itself is incredibly pleasant in the same way that a lot of apple-lavenders like Mont Blanc Legend are. But there's a pervasive sweet musk that rides all the way through and projects a good distance. My initial impression was that it was a cheap woody amber hybrid of Khamrah and 1 Million Prive with a fruity top; but honestly it has so many elements from so many fragrances that it's difficult to pin down sometimes. It's clear that the base of Khamrah is in there somewhere; but at times I get 1 Million, and at others the lavender from Sauvage edt, the mid of Baldessarini edc, the apple from Legend, the honey from....well you get the idea. Overall though, the sillage is pretty stable with that sweet fruity musk thing that goes on and on and you definitely get the prickly woody amber on paper. As a result, performance is excellent for such an inexpensive fragrance, and it's gotten some good feedback from people around me so far. Completely unisex too. As for the box, it's pretty cheap, but at least the bottle and cap are both decently heavy and the atomizer is GREAT. The cap also clicks into place so you can lift the bottle up by it no prob. But it's a fingerprint MAGNET. From a glance, it's essentially got a squished Sauvage cap, a squished Legend bottle and it smells sorta like....1 Million Prive?? Well...kinda. Sometimes. Either way, it's a super pleasant scent to get in the air and honestly a bit addictive for some reason. But it's neither unique, nor particularly natural smelling if you get my drift. Might even be redundant if you have Khamrah or the Paco. Otherwise, it's so cheap that any newbie would be happy to have it. Not a bad gift at all. Scent - 7.5/10 Longevity - 8/10 Projection - 7.5/10 Overall - 7.5/10 - The hybrid of hybrids.

Bought a bottle based on previous reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a decently long lasting skin scent spiced apple. Very pleasant and great for £20! This could easily be a budget signature fragrance. Sweet enough for winter but also fresh with the pepper spice for a warm afternoon; without being too gourmand alcoholic like Oajan is for hotter weather. Edit: Just save up for Oajan though imo. I smelt 1 million prive recently and it's exactly the same.

@Cristian2006 Maybe you're just nose blind to it? This is a room-filler for sure. HUGE projection and sillage on this. I really dig the aromatic/iris interplay in this one. It's not quite powdery but adds that sophisticated feel to the spiciness. I get just about 8 hours out of this on my skin, 10-12 on clothes. The very late drydown is so addictive; the amber becomes so warm and vanillic, while the sweetness backs off, leaving it super cozy and inviting.

A nice spicy scent with a masculine vanilla/amber accord that stays sweet but never cloying. I think the clove moderated it nicely. It sticks to my clothes and skin nicely and lasts 6-8 hours

80% similar to 1 Million Privé. Notes are misleading, it is something between 1 Million and JazzClub. Performance is moderate but considering $20 price - very good. 8/10

Ok, there are no votes for (reminds me of) Layton. This is like 85% Layton with the spicy fruity apple note. Difference to me is that the apple is more dominant in Layton and Im picking up a slight leather accord in Royce Black but no leather in Layton.

If like your Mr Sheen scent when you polish your furniture just go ahead and buy this and shower with it.

It has a very sharp chemical smell to it. It says apple but it's such an indistinguishable smell it might be pear, grape.

Opens wonderfully with some fresh fruity notes backed by a lot of clove and definitely some cinnamon. The scent pyramid specifies apple but to me fruity notes come across a lot like darker fleshed fruits, like cherries or plum, yet the fruity accord plays second fiddle to the spices. It's quite a dark and sweet fragrance, yet easy to wear. Nice minimalist bottle design, reminds me of the Montblanc bottles. Royce Black is a hidden gem, for sure.

This is a pretty safe blind buy, especially for $20. When I look at what fragrantica says for the accords, it says "fresh spicy" and I think that's right. I think this is a pleasant, non-offensive fragrance you can wear year-round. It is not very strong, though, so you will need to overspray for sure. I never had the 1 Million Prive, so I can't tell you how it compares..

My dad once got 1Million Privé and i loved it. This smells like 90-95% similar. If you dont check them side by side you would say they smell 100% similar so dont worry about the little differences really. Pretty decent performance, maybe like 7hrs so that will last you a whole afternoon or a whole night out. Really good fragrance specially for the price. 10/10

I rather let others describe the notes, all I can say, is I know what I like, and I love this stuff. I have a collection approaching 150 bottles and most of them have been blind buys, And Royce Black definitely falls in my top 5 of blind buys.Smells great, It's long lasting and its dirt cheap. When I ordered this I didn't expect much, What a surprise!!!!

Blind buy because of all the good reviews....it has a oldman vibe, something in it gives me a weird taste, like the og Le Male, idk what it is maybe the rosemary....i have no idea how close it is to 1M Prive but i don't like it...would not buy again, its a bad fragrance....idk who would like it 😐

This is a very spicy loud frag that smells nothing like Layton. Can't comment as for it smelling like 1million prive cuz I haven't smelled it. But this is a good loud spicy warm scent worth the money spent.

This is just exactly the 1 million prive perfume but in a new bottle and different name, I am so glad it comes back
