Georgette

Going by the notes alone, I never would’ve chosen this perfume...honestly, I didn’t expect to like it at all. But I recently received a travel size in a fragrance box and... WOW 🤩 . This is gorgeous. It doesn’t remind me of anything else I’ve ever smelled, it’s completely unique and beautifully blended. It’s slightly sweet, a little fresh, and has this subtle spicy warmth that’s hard to describe... other than just BEAUTIFUL. If I run out of my travel size, I’ll have no choice but to grab the full bottle. A total surprise hit for me! ❤️❤️❤️

My first reaction is its warm woodsy scent yet after a few minutes the rose appears and it becomes super subtle. I cannot pick up the scent much after an hour yet I have received compliments when being hugged. So its a very soft yet beautiful rose and sandalwood.

My nose has tried the rose-patchouli-oud trio so many times that with this one too, like Pavlov's dog, I instinctively said there's oud. But there isn't, it has guaiac wood in it, which isn't surprising (my sample is before re-edition). The rose is very bold and very deep, black, dark roses, and the patchouli is very refined. It never smells like mud... But the thing is, I'm a bit tired of this DNA. The execution here isn't bad at all though, everything is more airy and more natural. There's a barley-like feel, but I later realized that's the tobacco, dry, warm and smoky. Towards the end the rose settles down even more. Despite being tired of it, I found it successful because the rose note is very well done and high-quality. Tag(s): bold rose, woody wose, rose-patchoul-wood trio, airy

Received this in a secret scent box. At first there’s a strong blast of patchouli and woods, but as it settles the Rose and violet become noticeable and it becomes a warm powdery Rose, with a patchouli and woods background. It is peppery, but I don’t get any tobacco and if there’s vanilla present it just sweetens it. The drydown is pleasant and better than I expected from the first spray. Definitely a predominantly woody peppery Rose scent, you have to like Rose to like this. Becomes a skin scent within an hour, and is very soft. The quickest strong to soft change in a scent!

Gorgeously pepper and herby, I would not think of this as "rose" unless I had read the notes. Very natural-smelling, like a wooden cabinet of precious essential oils. Unfortunately it barely lasts an hour on my skin and clothes.

I got Vyrao’s discovery set of minis a year and a half ago. I will confess right now, I have a dash of Gwenyth Paltrow in me and was admittedly drawn in by new age crystals woo-woo vibes. I’ve finished Free 00 and I Am Verdant, which were my two comparative favorites and I’m still begrudgingly working my way through the latter three: Georgette, Witchy Woo, and Magnetic 070. From the beginning, I wasn’t particularly impressed by any of the scents but tried my best to pretend otherwise given that I’d just splashed a not insignificant amount of cash on them. I knew the relationship between Vyrao and I probably wasn’t going to work out when I asked my mom what she thought of the perfume I was wearing (I believe Free 00) and she said she couldn’t smell it which made me realize I couldn’t smell it either. There’s an intimate silage and then there’s a silage where you have to bury your nose into the crook of your arm to smell anything, these are all the latter. Georgette, WW, and Magnetic last around 2-3 hours, the others you’re lucky to have last for a full hour. Besides that, I just don’t find any of these particularly beautiful or striking or pleasant. They’re all...fine... Georgette is a fairly hum-drum spicy, tobacco-y rose, by no means offensive but not much more than mediocre. Lyn Harris seems to be a perfumer a lot of people on here love, and I’m sure she has far more intriguing scents because none of these would ever captivate me enough to look into the perfumer. I also have to add that I’m very tired of the “clean” perfume trend. I’m sure there are some benefits to wearing perfumes without parabens, phtalates etc, but from my experience it’s been a real the ends not justifying the means situation. With nearly all the cleans scents I’ve tested, (with the exception of Heretic and Sana Jardin scents), the wear time is fleeting, the sillage is borderline nonexistent, and the fragrances themselves are linear and simplistic. You will most likely get whatever the most basic representative of the notes are. And on top of it all a full size with most of the popular clean brands will set you back 150-300 dollars, it’s a real lose-lose situation! Yes this turned fully into a rant, but it’s just such a shame.

I’m not liking this Georgette at all! The first few minutes smells absolutely horrendous on my skin. It’s just violet leaves, bitter, extremely earthy and woody, super unpleasant. It gets slightly better within fifteen minutes, once the harshness of the opening disappears. I can detect some faint nuances of tobacco, vanilla and rose, but these notes don’t match the overwhelming amounts of violet leaves. To me, Georgette is mostly a fragrance centred around violet leaves, guaiac woods, patchouli and pepper. Rose, tobacco, vanilla and sandalwood are just minor appearances in this juice, even in the dry down. The dry down is not terrible, but it’s not a particularly pleasant scent either. Again, my opinion based on my personal taste. Test thoroughly if you’re violet leaf lover before purchasing this scent. Might be just the one for you... Don’t buy Georgette if you’re expecting a spicy rose/tobacco/vanilla perfume with some green hints. It’s not that. It’s a difficult one to stomach for me... Longevity is bad. In three hours I can’t smell it on the skin, it’s completely gone. Not impressed with this either

I would agree with other reviewers in that this perfume is a woody rose. At first, it is very woody but then slowly the rose begins to creep through. I don't get much patchouli or a strong vanilla presence as the wood is quite prominent. I personally don't love woody scents (just a personal preference) but the rose in this is very beautiful, clean and natural. The scent then rests on the tobacco base note that is sweetened by vanilla, I think. Ultimately, a tobacco rose, and woody scent. Which is actually, quite unique.

The notes in this are not that dissimilar to Witchy Woo, only the cinnamon has been replaced with rose instead. It's sweeter than Witchy Woo. It's okay but not my favourite. It is a kind of amber rose scent although the nicest smelling amber rose scent I've smelled is Stella (Stella McCartney) which has a lovely delicate rose drydown. The drydown in this is not particularly gentle though and reminds me more of a rosey air freshner. It's ok but my favourite from Vyrao is The Sixth which is refreshingly different. This smells better on clothes than on skin as it turns a little balsamic which I'm not keen on. It feels like there's a fight going on with the sweetness and the amber notes and it can't decide what it wants to be.

I wear fragrance so I can smell it and so that’s my complaint with Vyrao scents is just that I can barely smell them when they’re on me. I agree with others saying Georgette and Witchy Woo are a bit similar but Georgette is more rose and Witchy Woo cinnamon. Georgette is kind of like a pink peppery rose in a botanical garden, unisex and pleasant.

This is so amazing and even delicious. I really love it. This is a unisex fragrance but it's very feminine to me and not just because of its name. I can't even sniff out individual notes apart from the rose. Aren't there so many perfumes with same notes as this? Yet I've never smelled something I like so much.

First spray reminds me of aperol/ Campari very bitter, then after few seconds I smell mosquito repellent with citronella
