Forest

I absolutely love this fragrance. This is definitely not your usual pine-y forest smell. This is very Welsh. Coniferous and deciduous with flowers springing up on the slightly damp ground with sunlight breaking through the branches and leaves on the trees. I’m a frag head who knows little of the ‘science’, rather just loves nice smells. This is one of my favourite fragrances in a rapidly growing collection. It lasts, it projects and it smells absolutely gorgeous. What more do you want!?

Great fragrance, especially for autumn! Definitely starts off as a more woody scent with a hint of sweetness from the ambrette. After several hours you definitely get more of the sweetness. Vaguely reminds me of roasting marshmallows in the woods, but there’s no smokiness in this fragrance. Very long lasting on the skin. Have smelled their other fragrances but have not picked them up; will probably try to in the future because of how much I like this one

Immediately after spraying, Forest comes across as masculine to my nose. It’s musky, woody and sweet. I think the ambrette is what I’m picking up on most of all, although I can’t say for sure. A nice scent, and I’m sure it’ll suit lots of people, but it’s not my sort of fragrance. A small note I will mention in case anyone from Wales Perfumery is reading this, invest in some better atomiser sprays for your samples! It’s a struggle to get a proper spray out of them, which is a pain because then I feel like I’m not getting the full breadth of the perfume.

My nose says there is an overdose of ambroxan in this, but looking at the notes and descriptions maybe it's ambrette. Whichever it is, it's all I can smell here. It is a similar woody, peppery, fresh, piercing behind the eyes smell that is also in fragrances such as sauvage. I could smell it through the packaging before I opened it. It also has a slight sweetness which becomes more prominent as time goes on. I can't smell any of the other notes.

Is there a fragrance which does *not* smell like the infamous Baccarat Rouge? I mean, come on....... Some noses need an olfactory reset.
