Belle en Weil

Weil have produced some real crackers in the last couple of years: Suki Essence is a stunner, as is Merveilles & Nuit... and then there's this. This reminds me - very much - of Angel, but without the dirty patchouli (which I love). I bought 100ml from allbeauty.com in the UK for £17.25. I spritzed myself pretty liberally 7 hours ago, and it's still projecting. Update: 10 hours later, still projecting. Abso-bloody-lutely worth every penny. Smells far more expensive than it is. Fantastic value for money.

Prominent peppery sweetness and cedar wood notes; Belle en Weil feels and acts like a modern interpretation of an old-fashioned drama, a play full of twists and turns, of elegance, warmth and simple joys, yet with an undercurrent of something - a miniscule dischord making the whole more attractive than had it not been there at all. An interesting fragrance, full of promise. Highly recommended.

Not sure what the hype is all about but this does not smell like Angel. This smells wayyy to peppercorn with cardamom with a mix of taco seasoning. I just got it and it was strong right out of the box. Perhaps I got a bad batch! Cuz this smells nothing like the sweet Praline yumminess it claims to have. Smells very masculine. This has to be a bad bottle that I got. I refuse to believe it can smell this bad. It has a strong sillage and longevity because I can't wash it off my hand. As I write this review, I am getting whiffs of the spicy peppercorn hit my nostrils. Hopefully it's just my bottle that went bad. I got it off of Jomashop and it took about 1 1/2 ?onth to arrive because it was being shipped from elsewhere. Maybe it was stored in the heat and went off. Oh well.
