Baicha Eau de Parfum

One of my favorite perfumes, if not my all time favorite. First and foremost; as a migraine patient I'm very sensitive to certain synthetic compounds in perfume. This did not trigger ANY sort of reaction in me, and smells very natural. No other migraine patient from my circle that tried it had a reaction, so I believe I can declare this one Migraine Safe. I could probably snort it straight from the bottle and be fine. The opening is very much dominated by the bitter orange, with a hint of pink pepper. The raspberry and bergamot are there, but very much hiding in the background. The drydown differs a LOT from person to person, I've noticed, and I've tested it on quite a lot of people. On me, and many of the young men I've tried it on, The tea, musk, and tonka bean take center stage, with most notable support from the rose. I've tried it on a few girlfriends as well, and surprisingly the Jasmine and Raspberry are much more noticeable with them, making the scent a lot sweeter. Despite the huge variability in the drydown, we agreed on one thing; we all liked it a lot. It's a very subtly seductive scent, Light but not soapy or overly sweet, yet sultry but not heavy or spicy. Very attractive. On paper it certainly leans feminine, but on skin it's very androgynous. It will never have that typical masculine-perfume scent, but it does smell very good on men as well. -Very- good ;) One potential downside is the Longevity and the Sillage. This is NOT a beast mode fragrance. People will not be able to follow your scent trail in and out of rooms. Personally, I like that. I prefer my sillage to be intimate; for people to only catch a small breath of my perfume when I'm close to them or touching them, but for everyone else to not be bothered by my scent. However, most people do like to have SOME sillage. This has almost none. The scent stays very close to the skin and even on the skin it's subtle. The Longevity is also not fantastic. You'll still smell it after several hours, especially the tonka bean and the musk, but it's by no means impressively long lived. The price is relatively high. You get 100ml, for that price, true, but I've been flying through this bottle like nothing before. The scent is absolutely lovely and worth the price in my opinion, but the performance is not. All in all I'd say absolutely worth having in your collection. Beautiful scent, yet very intimate. Very variable based on skin composition; don't blind-buy.
