Sencha Eau de Parfum

Conventional concept - a classic lemon tea - but excellently executed. Won't set your hair on fire with excitement, but then it's aiming for a cool, reviving dunk of pure cleanliness, rather than a wham-bam caffeinated adventure to anywhere wildly new, so that makes sense. As with all of the Welton tea suite, it's impeccably done: a genuine (if genuinely fragile) green tea aroma; the citrus sparkles zestily; the warmer notes beneath are seriously well-judged, giving it just enough stamina to keep going and eke out the top notes to a very respectable 6-7 hours, without impinging too much on the smellscape. It's discreet and classy and makes you feel pretty immaculate, even if it's not the most original idea ever. For sure there are very many similar things at price points higher (Dior The Cachemire) and lower (Arden Green Tea!) and the cost per ml is a little intimidating, but this is perfectly balanced enough to justify itself. My second-favourite in this line (Ryokucha just edges it) for its sheer class and elegance. True tea-heads must try all the Weltons - they really are exceptionally good.

A beautiful fragrance that combines tealike freshness with a floral, almost gourmandy facette. Too bad this line is very fleeting in terms of longevity. A definite grab if you manage to get it for half the price.
