Nocturne

Holy smokes, literally. Sampled as part of a halloween pack and Bloom aptly described it as 'exhaust fumes inside the car'. Bloom's note listing different than the official and neither are quite right it's more a mix of the two. The opening is egregiously loud and bright, smoky as hell but leathery dry tannins, dark berries and turkish delight. After a few minutes, the initial punch mellows a bit, and it opens up some depth and funk. Lightly animalic in the back, full bodied and almost earthy. I still get quite a bit of smoke here as well but not as invasive at the opening. Through its journey, it dries down to woody goodness with a fairly strong blackcurrent note, it does reveal a little greenness - to me I wouldn't say it's a green scent just dark and smokey. The tannins and leather remain, but work with the wood to create that rich aroma. I don't particularly pick up coffee anywhere, but I guess the general bitter rich vibe could be that. The overall feel is one of sticky mulled wine by a fireplace. Performance is strong. First spray is dangerous, and will fill a whole room. It is an extrait so to be expected. It projects strongly in the first 2 hours, and then becomes more intimate - albeit gradually. Longevity wise, I do think it is slightly under performing for an extrait but maybe with some more liberal application and moisturiser you'd squeeze out more. But as of now (8 hours later) it still projecting very slightly close to the skin, others won't smell it but may get a hint if hugged. Any meaningful projection seemed to cap at 5 hours. Overall, a surprising one and one I would not have selected myself. Definitely be tempted by a bottle for the cold months or edgier outings. Leans mostly unisex in my opinion, but probably a preferred scent for feminine wearers. Pricing is about as expected for an extrait from a small house. 9/10 - opening is just a bit to heady for me and longevity is a little lower than I'd expect, and not totally to my taste for wear but still smells divine. Definitely try a sample, it is a unique one.

Green grassy blend with boozy notes... Amusing green grassy booze blend that changes when calms down to animalic earthy ambrette wine redRose blend! It's quite contradict, but amusingly beautiful that suits those who adore divine blends and not easy to pull. Beautiful indeed.

This is such an amazing wine scent! Deep, intoxicating, rich, like hot mulled wine. I usually do not like coffee in frags but here coffee does a good supporting job making the scent richer. I keep sniffing my arm after I applied this :-) I'm considering a FB!
