A Blvd. Called Sunset

Beautiful- a cool violet and leather warmed up by tonka and sandalwood. Leather smells genuine but not suffocating, and the tonka and sandalwood adds just enough sweetness without leaving a syrup scent that I've noticed in some similar formulations. The powder from the jasmine and almonds creates a beautiful white floral that adds to a gorgeous dry down. I love that each note is so distinct in this and nothing is overshadowed. I am head over heels in love with this. I'm surprised it's not unisex as the floral can lean more feminine and the leather masc. I will be buying a full bottle once I have used up my 2ml.

I absolutely adore this fragrance and wear it frequently. I had been looking for an almond fragrance that wasn't too cloying or wimpy for a long time, so I was thrilled to find that this one does an excellent job of balancing sweet notes with that almost sharp smell of almonds. The violet and powder notes round out this experience for me, too. I love that you can almost get the smell of hot tar in the summer from this perfume.

Nice herbal-infused fresh leather scent. It reminds me a lot of Nicolai's Baikal Leather, which is a favorite. I smell a lot of violet leaf here - which is not listed - but there's also some powdery violet/iris, as well. The smokiness of the namesake shows up in the opening, w/ hints of birch tar. This one has pretty great longevity and sillage. Nicely done.

I'm completely in love with this fragrance. I have about 300 in my collection and I will said this my favorite! Sooooo beautiful ! I can't stop smiling. Don't think about the price because I can tell you as soon you tried you will falls in love like me :)

it's so gorgeous... my god... it smells like greatest summer of your life .. with joyful adventures, the happiest friendship, love and sea surfing. absolutely amazing and very classy scent. unisex but mostly for guys.

This is the best 3.46 rated fragrance I have ever smelled. Great find. I'll be selfish and say I hope nobody finds this gem :P but seriously, fantastic scent and this deserves more attention.

It’s leathery on top and then there’s a sweetness to it that I enjoy. Because of the strong leather scent that I pick up, I’d say this leans more masculine, but I have no problem wearing this. I typically don’t wear scents according to seasons, but I immediately think of a crisp, Fall evening when I smell this. I got a sample from the discovery set they sell, and am seriously considering getting a bottle.

Not generally a huge fan of leather notes in fragrance, but it really works well here, and definitely lends well to the "sun-baked concrete" accord from the brand's description. I like it.

Mostly almost-floral sweetness with bits of sandalwood and leather as a counterbalance. Unfortunately, there's not enough of a counterbalance in this instance, and as a result, it comes off smelling like hair spray or handcream, and really comes across as unfinished or even light-on. Needs more heft and weight to truly function as a scent as opposed to an accord...

Definite violet, which can often come off as a vintage reformulation and smell old. This however, feels like a more modern take on violet. A bit of leather and powder rounds out the edges. Smells like a warm spring day. ☀️ If you’re curious about violet or already love it, give this a try.

Sunset Boulevard spans from the Pacific Ocean to the inner city. It is one of the most iconic parts of Los Angeles and has an incredibly rich history featuring an incredibly diverse swath of people. Given how different Sunset Blvd. can be from block to block, it may be a little foolhardy to try to encapsulate everything in a single scent. Of course, some areas are more iconic than others. A Blvd. Called Sunset seems to take inspiration primarily from arguably the most iconic part of the boulevard, The Sunset Strip, and pays tribute to the nightclubs that once featured the likes of Led Zeppelin and Guns n Roses. A Blvd. Called Sunset begins with heavy violet and leather. It reminds me of Fahrenheit and gives off something of a similar gasoline accord, perhaps appropriate given the number of cars cruising Sunset at any given time. It’s not as strong as Dior’s and the leather smells more dominant here, but my mind keeps coming back to the comparison. Twenty or thirty minutes in, almond arrives rather robustly and delivers a strong counterbalance to the heavy violet and leather. I’d say it makes A Blvd. Called Sunset sweeter, but it feels more appropriate to say the almond makes the fragrance more “November Rain” and less “Welcome to the Jungle”. So Slash’s guitar is not ultimately what this fragrance is looking to replicate. It’s not terribly loud, but it does have some rock star energy. If you like a sweet leather, it may be worth a look.

Smells like the best day ever. Opens on me with green spring florals, true florals, first crocus of the year florals, foiled loudly and delightfully by photorealistic WET petrichor, mineral and ozonic, like true asphalt in the rain, steaming softly in an early evening warmth. Delicious, I can’t get enough of it. I wish it stayed here forever but eventually it dries down into a more aloof, cool violet, somehow both extremely wearable and somewhat aloof in a tousled lowkey LA way, made fashionable by suede leather and a subtle mushy warm sandalwood/tonka/vanilla. I don’t get any screamwood, I might not even notice the sandalwood if I wasn’t looking for it, in spite of that being *my* note. The jasmine’s yummy and runs throughout, I only wish it were slightly more indolic, this one leans very clean. Definitely a warm weather daily driver for me, and so special in that it can be while remaining artful, a real landscape of a fragrance, a captured mood.

Love this! I’m a woman ans I think this is very wearable and unisex. Not much leather on me, but I get the bright top of bergamot that sticks around longer than anticipated, followed by violet and almond. Moderate silage and longevity. It’s my new go-to when I want a break from more seasonal selections and think this scent is weather versatile. Agree with previous review in that I can’t understand why people aren’t more interested/aware of this fragrance, it’s a stunner.

At first it’s nothing but Screamwood. That hideous wood alcohol note lasts the whole day, but in the end, hours later, the soft worn leather does make headway against the screaming, sharp wood and I can smell it. In the end, it’s a nice soft leather with tonka/vanilla notes, but the shrieking wood alcohol aroma chemical ruins it utterly and never backs off enough for me to truly enjoy this.

Without knowing the notes, I assumed this was an aromatic freshy as that's how it initially came off on my skin. The violet really shines in this one...I do not get much of the almond note, but the leather starts to warm it up just ever so slightly in the dry down.

The violet and leather combination resembles Rodeo by Byredo tremendously, except this has a sweet green almond note. The fragrance seems clean and sharp but piquant, almost zingy and very vibrant. Super long lasting and unisex. A total yes!

So pretty and fresh. This is how I learned I love violet. I like everything from this brand, but this one is top 3. I don’t smell leather, only florals with a hint of citrus. Beautiful!

I get mostly violet with a little soft leather. This smells very similar to Leather from Malin+Goetz on my skin

Sweetened violet and leather with Iso E in the drydown...a pass for me.
