Lalla La Rose

This is an alluring floral gourmand scent with great longevity on my skin. It is sweet, creamy and powdery, just with a hint of fruity tartness to it. It opens with a blast of tart blackcurrant and bright, juicy lemon. Shortly thereafter, it develops into a sweet, powdery rose scent, accentuated by the note of coconut. Imagine a dessert bowl filled with coconut whipped cream and loads of rose flavoured marshmallows on top, sprinkled with a few drops of lemon juice... That's how Lalla La Rose smells to me.

This is a lovely gourmand Rose. For me it really shines in the warmer weather. It's a bit too tarte for my liking in the cool weather. The sweetness amps up, and the tartness mellows out with the warmth, although it might be too sweet for some to wear in the heat.

This is nice. I really get the black currant and strong fruitiness in the opening. The rose comes out as well, and there is some vanilla peeking through, but not enough for my liking. Not good enough to be FBW.

This opens up sharply with lots of lemon and black current, making me sneeze. Black current is not my favorite note, there's a toilet bowl cleaner twang for the first 5 minutes. The rose is more like an approximation of "rose-aura" rather than an identifiable, realistic bloom which is a little disappointing; I was hoping for an authentic, botanical rose. This is more like rose-scented hand wipes. I don't get any coconut water. The dry-down gets a little better. There's a fluffiness and a warmth at this stage beginning to develop, and I do sense a concept of whipped cream, but its all blended together, nothing stands out as a singular, identifiable note. The peony comes to the fore in the late dry-down, almost swerving the fragrance 180 degrees from a semi-gourmand into a fresh floral. Overall, I don't think of or smell Turkish Delight here. There's nothing foodie, nutty or "candy" about this. Its more like a warm, sweet, floral scent with a hint of fluffiness only distantly reminding you of dessert. Sillage is strong for the first 1/2 hour, then it quiets down becoming more of a close, personal scent bubble.

This is not the sweet, vanilla rose that I was expecting it to be. I agree with the previous reviewer that it is quite sharp. Very heavy on the rose & blackcurrant. The lemon used is very tart and the marshmallow is more like a burnt campfire marshmallow. I don’t get any hints of coconut water, whipped cream or vanilla. Not a bad scent, but definitely not what I was expecting based on the notes and accords listed.

Wow!! Such a beautiful gourmand rose. It smells like powdered rose Turkish Delight to my nose, it has me in the most amazing scent bubble heaven. Yes the blackcurrant is very sharp in the opening and you also get the lemon but more of a candied lemon. It dries down to my most gorgeous powdery, sugar floral. I get both rose and peony but the rose is most prominent.

At the top, I immediately smell a tart and almost sharp blackberry and lemon but it quickly settles into this beautiful gourmand sweet rose. I mostly smell the marshmallow and rose and think its a gorgeous scent.
