London

London is a scent that is often compared often to TF’s Tuscan Leather, and when you spray it you will understand why. The three notes that you will smell throughout the wearing of it are: oud, raspberry, and leather. Of the three, I found the raspberry to be the most surprising because as heavy as leather and wood can be, it makes its presence known. Its bright, its fresh, its tart, and in my opinion it is the lynchpin that is stopping the fragrance from being a generic fragrance. The first half hour or so the raspberry is the most noticeable but even when it dries down, if you didnt know that raspberry was in it you would still get the impression that just makes the scent different. Having said all that, I think the underrated “star” of the fragrance is the vanilla. More specifically, how much vanilla was used in the base. As the raspberry is calming down during the first hour or so, you are going to start noticing a faint sweetness. It works in such a way that it not only balances the sharpness of the leather, but it reduces the “sourness” of the raspberry while highlighting its best aspects. It is absolutely well blended and once the fragrance settles down after the first hour, its identity stays the same all the way through. I think its linearity makes it a great choice for someone casual that wants to make the jump from department store to niche while still being understandable. I think its also a good choice for the late fall months if you want something thats alluring, but not attention seeking if that makes sense. Verdict: Is this worth buying? In a GENERAL sense, no. You may be surprised after all my praises, but here me out. This isnt for everyone. It is very much a masculine fragrance for one thing and even if i was to recommend it to guys only, its more for a mature, older type of man. Best suited for men in their 40s-50s, probably married with kids, and either works a suit and tie job or a trade. Thats the impression I get at least. Another thing is this, remember how I said that the raspberry was the lynchpin? That is also its biggest drawback. You may like oud or leather, but if you dont like the raspberry then you most likely wont enjoy it. It is what sets the direction for where the fragrance is heading. Lastly, as mentioned before, the weather. If you dont live somewhere that gets below 15C/59F temperature, the sharp leather note will give you a headache. Having said all that, if you do like oud/leather type of fragrances and can deal with the drawbacks, then I would say that London is at least worth your attention to sample.

In my quest to upgrade my rather uninspired fragrance library; I’ve been sampling fragrances from more niche perfumers that I’ve not paid much attention to. I tend to be rather picky due to the climate in which I reside (South Florida) and also my general style (despite my age) doesn’t really lend itself to ultra mature, serious, rich, opulent fragrances. Conversely, I also don’t do well with ultra young sweet or super sporty fragrances either, I tend to teeter between dry spicy woods, mixed with citruses and marine notes, or fragrances that dry down with a bit of wood and smoke but not heavy. Anyhow, I went ahead and picked up a sample of Widian London....I generally haven’t really liked leather fragrances much but as I’ve gotten a bit older they’ve grown on me some. Widian London is very beautiful, the opening is sweet and luxurious, you smell the raspberry almost immediately but you also get a nice warm leather and dry woodsy note. As it dries down the leather becomes more prominent but it’s not a dirty leather and not a super fresh leather either this is a very wearable leather with a background of fruitiness but not overpowering like TF Tuscan Leather. This is a bit more masculine leaning in my opinion. A very beautiful scent and I’m trying to see if this is FB worthy. This would definitely be different in my collection my only issue is that living in Florida I only see this getting wear during the evening or to more formal outings. Date night, jeans and jacket, dinner, drinks, etc. if you live in a warm climate like I do, this would be a late fall or winter fragrance (although the winters in South Florida are pitiful and rather non-existent) but at least there’s a 10-15 degree difference from Summer to Winter her in South Florida. Anyways, this is a great fragrance I could definitely see myself wearing this and the bottle is gorgeous.

I was planning to buy TF Tuscan Leather but then I stumbled upon this one. I had some doubts about Tuscan Leather as it was a bit too strong and sharp for my taste so this one turned out to be just what I was looking for. The leather here is softer and more pleasant, a bit like in TF Ombre Leather Parfum. I can mainly smell the soft leather with sweet, fruity notes on my skin. It is quite powdery which in my opinion makes the fragrance even softer. The other notes don't stand out much or at least I cannot pick them up in the air. It is perfectly unisex, maybe leaning slightly feminine because of the sweetness. Normally I do not care for such stuff but I have to mention here that the presentation is great. A lot of attention to detail, the box look great on the shelf and the bottle looks high quality with a nice heavy cap. Too bad it's not magnetic though. Now this is going to sound a bit crazy but my problem with this fragrance is that it lasts long and projects quite well. How is this a problem, you ask? The fragrance is very linear - it doesn't change almost at all from the opening to the dry down. For me this gets very boring and after wearing this for one day, I need a break for a week or so. It's still a beautiful fragrance, just gets boring after a while. If you don't get bored with it, I'd say it's pretty good for every day wear in colder seasons. Otherwise it's a nice option for evenings/special occasions. Considering the price, I would recommend to test first.

I have some things to say about this one. Widian - where have you been all my life? Why have I neglected you? Shame. London is pretty much this: the best fragrance I’ve had the opportunity to wear. London is deeply, sweet blended perfection. Raspberry and oud are the most prominent notes - but this is mixed fantastically - as if MFK threw this bad boy together. This is going to sound crazy (and it probably is) - but picture an aquatic version of Tuscan leather. That’s London. I know there are no aquatics listed - but the overall mixture has a freshness about it - and how the hell can raspberry, oud and amber seem fresh?! I know. This is confusing. That’s why I’m saying - just imagine an aquatic Tuscan leather. Sounds interesting, right? It is! This is a multi-sniff delight. The only reason I’m comparing it to Tuscan leather is for a common point of reference - this is not a leather fragrance - but does mimic some of the best qualities of TL. This is classy, fun, warm and addictive. SAVE UP YOUR MONEY AND BUY THIS. I promise you will not regret. Shoot - now I have to come back and edit this. So I realized after I sniffed my hand a few hundred times - this is mancera black gold (one of my favorites!!) with added raspberry. That explains why I love it so much. And for further comparison - this definitely resembles a mancera style scent (oud on top + sweetness). This is top notch. 8/10

Let me first start by saying, I have tried Godolphin and did not like it at all, since it has a very metally smell, it smells like iron to me. Tuscan Leather I have not smelled yet but have heard it is a pretty harsh version of Godolphin, so I think that one is a pass for me aswell. On to this one then... I sprayed it and instantly got swoon away by that delicious Raspberry mixed with leather, the raspberry can be smelled alot in the beginning of the fragrance and it is sooo beautiful. This fragrance contrary to Godolphin smells very REFINED and WELL-MADE such a perfect smooth leather with no roughness to it. I really like it alooot and it is very unique to people who are not fragheads I would suspect. I think it is a perfect mix of sexy/elegant and would put it in that category, while CH men Privé is another favorite leather that I like would be put in the Sexy/manly category. I give it 9/10 (not including price) I want this in my collection, but I need the price to be lower!!

Wow. Raspberry Tea + Leather + Musky Vanilla in the dry-down. I was surprised this gets compared to tuscan leather so much. This was a blind buy but it is very different. This is way more on the raspberry fruitiness, has a tea like sweetness, and has this vanilla in the dry down which is addictive. The leather here is more of a suede than a car seat polished leather. Whereas tuscan leather is mostly leather and very little raspberry, this is balanced with raspberry and vanilla. The leather in tuscan leather is aged, layered, with smokiness and a green earthiness. Here it's more simple, less brutal and harsh, it's smooth, reserved, and alluring. While I do prefer this to tuscan leather as it's more wearable and pleasant and smoother, tuscan leather is still a standout fragrance, I love how it has a brutal, unforgiving leather composition, but this was a better purchase for me as it's more wearable. TLDR: I love this, prefer this to tuscan leather, but you might not.

London is a creation with a sillage that CONTINUES TO DEVELOP IN THE AIR. I kid you not, it is a first of a kind to my nose. It opens similar to TL but toned down ashy smoke and amped up and very juicy raspberry. The violet in the open fits like a tailored glove and lacks any petrol vibe occasionally experienced when used in heavy doses. In my experience the oud does not show itself until the heart and drydown of the scent. Like in Royal Oud and Nawab of Oudh, here is used more like a mortar that joins all the individual bricks (notes) to form a uniform wall. The drydown? WOW.... It is everything I've ever wanted in a night out masculine, grown and sexy, suave but not overly attentive, alluring and hypnotic composition. The only thing that is better then the drydown is the sillage trail so be sure to revisit any area you have camped out at for a while to experience exactly what I mean by the sillage developing in the air. A++

Fruity floral leather. Allegedly raspberry but I get more of a plum-cherry vibe. Comes across like a thick fruit syrup, thinned out by the light airy facets of lily and violet, with a soft leather peeking through just enough to temper the sweetness. Strong projection for ~3hr, dialing down to a more intimate scent bubble and catching faint whiffs through most of the remaining 8-10hr longevity. Exceptionally smooth, has none of the animalic sharpness most leathers have at least in some capacity. Kinda weird, honestly, since leather sure isn't even the only thing in the note breakdown that can come off that way. Violet? Oud? Nope, no stank at all here. Not that similar to Aswan IMO. While raspberry is the centerpiece of both, and they share a lot of notes on paper, Aswan is substantially brighter and fresher with a barely-there leather. If leather is second billing in London, violet leaf is second billing in Aswan.

I am in love, i guess thats the only way to describe this amazing perfume. Today i also realized its my signature perfume. Owning quite few different ones, all of which i obviously love, this one i adore. It has this something that wearing it makes me feel special, different, well at least here in Europe not many women wear such perfumes. Men also complimented it on me. Its kinda sweet, but not too sweet, more spicy..id say vanilla and raspberry are always in the background. Its luxury, smooth, velvety and it stays, stays and after 2 weeks a friend sat near me in cinema and asked me whats the perfume on my scarf ( that day i wore something else), when i checked it was him. Widian, one and only. But be careful though.. more than 2 short sprays and you will knock out everyone out in 5m radius. Its too powerful then. Keep it low and let it take you to Middle East ride, all day & night long. 5/5

Everything starting from presentation to juice it self is perfect. Its hard to find crowd pleasing leather/oud fragrance like this offering. Raspberry is present from the start till the end adding sweetness with support of vanilla and amber. The magic is behind the blending, it's not too sweet or too leathery or too oudy, every not has it role with a perfect tonality. Longevity is easy full day on skin, projection and sillage are strong and like with every Widian its getting stronger and stronger after every minute but keeping it all the time not offensive like Oud Satin Mood for example. Widian is super underrated perfume brand, almost every offering is superb and worth their asking prices other than some from black collection. Everything here is 10/10 in my book and I highly recomend this perfume if you are looking for a leather scent or even not.

This is a masterfully blended date night/cozy fragrance. Don't let the oud intimidate you, I barely detect it. I get mainly leather and sweetness in an understated way. I wouldn't purchase another bottle but that's not an indictment! This works with my body chemistry but comes across better on paper. It will likely last me at least a few years, because this is more special occasion than everyday. The bottle is gorgeous! Once of those I'm proud to have on my shelf. It really does remind me of the inside of an expensive car, take your pick. Though it is unisex, definitely leans more masculine to my nose. It's not too sweet (at least not as sweet as many others I own). As I mentioned, this is more of an intimate fragrance than one that announces itself. It draws noses in, 3-4 sprays tops. Sample first. 9/10 overall

I think Henry has a personal issue with Widian based on his reviews of the brand. This is a beautiful fruity leather scent with a lovely comforting sweetness that’s not artificially smelling or cloying. Is it different from many other of this genre? not really. Is it better than others in the same ballpark? I’d say yes. I get the similarities to Tuscan Leather but it’s very different and does it’s own thing. I own both and TL tingles your nostrils with its harshness and cocaine vibe that’s not present in London. I enjoy both, this is just more refined and rounded off. More versatile than TL. The vanilla dry down is amazing too. Don’t get caught up with the name and the fact the notes don’t really represent London as a fragrance. Just enjoy it. Also the bottle is damn pretty too.

BEAUTIFUL. CLASSY. LUXURIOUS. Instant love. It started as a smoky, slightly sweet, leathery mood that wrapped me in warmth and comfort. The projection and village lasted all day, wafting gently through the room with me. The fruity raspberry peeked out a time or two, but the blend is exquisite, with the notes harmoniously rising and falling in orchestrated synchronization. This is a pretty dense scent with a lot of facets, but it’s never too much. It manages to float easily, while still holding a depth and complexity to keep it interesting and welcome. If you’re not a fan of leather fragrances, this may not change your mind, but it will give you reason to pause. I would love this as a blind buy. After sampling, this is definitely on my list.

It arrived, and I am speechless, this is a thing of beauty. Unfolding on skin with shades of sweet fruity violet, somewhat metallic, but simultaneously silky, sitting over an ultra sophisticated leather accord, so beautifully put together,it would make your heart skip a beat. The cypress listed in the notes is not prominent at all, but my guess is that perhaps it contributes to enforce the woody profile in the base as a polished oud begins to penetrate, London keeps its sweet woody leathery profile from top to bottom, towards the end the vanilla and musk encapsulated the leather accord smoothing it out to suede territory with a subtle spicy fruity tobacco feel, transporting the wearer to olfactive paradise.

Ok. This is a leather raspberry scent. Smells similar to Tuscan leather IF you made Tuscan Leather more airy, boosted the sillage, added a powdered component in the dry-down. Paramour is another scent in this vein. Out of the 3 scents doing a fruity leather...Widian wins if you want a lighter wear without compromising longevity or sillage. If you want beast mode for longer go back to TL, if you want sweeter go with Paramour. Is it redundant to own them all? Depends on what you're trying to do. I'll be sure to wear this lots in Sprin fall and winter but I don't think a high heat, high humidity day is the time to wear any profile like this but to each their own. 4.3 overall...Great house overall

London was an unexpected purchase in my fragrance collection. Initially reminiscent of the aftershave perfumes exchanged with distant cousins during Christmas gatherings, its first impression left me uncertain. However, upon patiently allowing it to settle and reveal its true character, I've come to cherish it as one of my all-time favorites. Its nuanced complexity now unfolds gracefully, exuding an aura of pristine cleanliness, opulence, and timeless sophistication. Everyone stops to ask me what I’m wearing when I have it on. While its longevity and projection are satisfactory, there's room for improvement, yet they certainly don't detract from its overall allure.

Usually leather dominant scent is overly masculine and rough. Widian London from the Sapphire Collection has leather accord that is silky smooth and the balance amount of sweetness from raspberry. That's why it is very unisex. It dries down into comforting vanilla and musk. Like most of the Widian creations performance is above average and last all day. Simply the best leather creation I've smelled so far and also the most easy to wear. It's like wrapping our body around with the most luxurious leather clothing. Best worn is cooler climates, can be day or night. Absolutely 🆂🅸🅶🅽🅰🆃🆄🆁🅴 🆂🅲🅴🅽🆃 🆆🅾🆁🆃🅷🆈. I will highly recommend this to everyone. #vscentorientreview

I love this one. It is just gorgeous and easily wearable year round. This is a fragrance with presence, and what really stands out is how unique it is. The combination of raspberry, leather, and oud is done beautifully. The leather sits in the background in a very subtle way and gives the fragrance a smooth, slightly creamy texture with a touch of smokiness without overpowering it. This was a great addition to my collection. Somehow it lands perfectly at the intersection of shadow and brightness, which is not easy to achieve. I truly think this is one of Widian’s best fragrances. It works effortlessly for both men and women, depending on how you wear it.

Chic aroma. Durability and projection are beyond praise. It sounds not just beautiful, but it’s expensive and luxurious. There is a similarity with Tuscan leather, but rather in tangent. Widian London for me is more about raspberries and skin, and not vice versa. It’s bad or good everyone will decide for himself. I’m delighted. The price bites, but thanks to the concentration (parfum), the consumption is minimal: 1-MAXIMUM 2 sprays. The fragrance is more likely for evening events, in my humble opinion. The presentation and quality of the bottle is beyond praise.
