Palais Nizam

I think this is really the most perfect scent for wearing going to a theater. Incense and leather. Creates something intangible and full of character. Very strong in personality. This is a good one. Perhaps actually my favourite one from the house of Wienerblut. I'm usually not a fan of fruitiness, but here it just works so well, gives it a certain freshness that balances up the incense and leather perfectly. The plum- and the brandy notes makes this narcotic. I'm really not a fan of leathery scents either. But this perfume really is much greater than the sum of it parts. Incensy, fruity, leathery. Gender does not apply. Performance and quality is for granted.

This is a very enjoyable incense fragrance--incense not listed. But the woods/resins, labdanum, and artemisia give it a dry, desiccated feel, like some of Tauer's perfumes and move it into incense. The brandy is barely apparent in the dry down, but warms it up with a barely-there fruited plum and the saffron plays with the dry quality imbuing some leather facets. This is the "galbanum equivalent" of leather-incense; it has a biting, yet soothing quality I quite like. It's a clean leather as well, more herbal than animalic. There is little to no sweetness in this, unlike some incense frags that lean into amber territory. Would love a bottle...

I find this perfume finely done with real high quality , actually that can be clear from the material of the bottle itself ; about the liqueur it is like saffron in heaven , just soft and fortified with woody leathery notes , brightened with bergamot and brandy . it turns around the Iris leather based perfume but bit fresher .

Quixotic, quizzical, quirky and rather quiet take on herbal-leather. Very niche-y and characterful - it doesn't smell like much else - yet discreet in its presence and performance. Fundamentally a light, not greasy, not pushy leather (but still definitely leather rather than softer suede) with a surprisingly bitter-aromatic kick from the artemisia, which is very definitely present at the front and centre, so if that wormwoody tang turns you off, steer clear of this. The 'ghost of brandy' bit really is there, a definitely fruity-boozy phantom lurking some way off, adding extra sweetness and sharpness. It all smells very upmarket and perfectly unisex; the scent of a slightly old-school literary figure famous for his or her mature and sardonic, cynical insights. Might remind some of Memo's Italian Leather (and the artemisia definitely conjures shades of L'Artisan Parfumeur's Fou d'Absinthe, though that is a warmer and woodier composition overall.) I may have been misled by having only a small dabber to play with, but this seemed in keeping with the other Weinerblut I know (the ravishing Ex Voto) in its dry, discreet performance - it's not huge, and sticks pretty close to the skin, yet does hang on OK for up to 5-6h. It didn't bowl me over in the same way as EV, but is still undeniably a class act. An intelligent, humorous perfume somehow - it sort of twinkles at you - but by no means an easy read. Absolutely not a blind buy, but almost certainly someone's idea of leather-bound-bookish heaven. It just needs to find the right audience.

This is undoubtedly a very complicated and sophisticated fragrance. Perhaps, too complicated for me, so I probably need to mature yet to appreciate it to the fullest. I need a few years' time of meditation above this perfume to be wiser. And yes, it's an excellent blend of scents.
