Symphonium Parfum

Love at the first sniff. I was a bit sceptical about this one, but I ended up loving it so much. The opening is beautiful and the drydown is heavenly. Symphonium Parfum is an awesome gourmand fragrance. It opens up with citruses (mandarin oranges and sweet-ish orange) before the chocolate and vanilla start to be much more noticeable a few minutes after that until the drydown. I can also notice some notes of oud here (similar to the ouds they used in some Xerjoff Alexandria variants like Alexandria II/III) and some spiciness from the cardamom. The complexity is absolutely divine, even though the notes didn't make it look that complex. I found that Symphonium Parfum wears a bit like Dior's Feve Delicieuse/Vanilla Diorama in the drydown. Probably because of the citrus + chocolate/cacao + vanilla combo. It is also a more upscale version of other chocolate fragrances like Chocolate Greedy by Montale. It is a photorealistic and opulent orange chocolate with a twist. It is just a perfect blend. Very strong too (surprisingly), with an incredible longevity. Wouldn't wear it in a hot summer heat, but in a climate-controlled environment or in a colder weather, it should work extremely well. No joke, I sprayed other strong fragrances like Interlude Black Iris by Amouage, Ao by Floraiku, Sauvage Elixir by Dior, and so on (along with this Symphonium Parfum). Most of them have almost disappeared after around 10 hours (and after I took shower and washed my hands a lot of times), Interlude Black Iris is still noticeable but Symphonium Parfum is still going quite strong. If you like Gourmand or Citrus and Chocolates in general, this might work for you. Haven't tried the older formulation though (the EDP). The house of Xerjoff is blowing my mind. Almost every fragrance I have tried from this house has been either very good, great, or truly awesome.

I was so curious of this scent first of all because I don’t like the idea of chocolate and orange. I don’t like at all those marmalade chocolates but I was thinking if I don’t test this I will miss something. Secondly I read that this is not so obvious gourmand so I wanted to find some more sophisticated (vanilla/chocolate) gourmand in my collection. I have not so obvious gourmands but now I mean for example Lira, which is nice but I don’t want to smell like that myself. And yes! Like I was thinking about this I felt in love with this. 💛 So addictive beautiful blended scent and yes, this is really obvious white chocolate and orange and I just like it a lot even if I don’t like the smell of those candies or cookies. This is like Kinder with orange! And this really is sophisticated gourmand because it’s not so strong and screaming those gourmand notes after settling down. Everything is in the balance even if I have to admit that this is linear fragrance without any surprises. In the basenotes there is vanilla, Laotian oud, Thailand oud and musk but for all you who don’t like oud: don’t skip this because of that. It’s not animalic or smoky here, it’s just warm and sweet and many of us can’t separate that in this juice. I have read many comments that there wouldn’t be oud at all but it just gives a little bit character to this scent. This is definitely the perfume for colder days. Tried it for the first time about 15 minutes ago. I received a sample vial from luckyscent. 0.7 ml for seven dollars! It was worth every penny. It is one of the best gourmand fragrances I have ever tried. Before you try this, you have to figure out what type of person you are. If you prefer things like Bonbon or Black opium, this fragrance is not for you. Similar to wine tasting. You have to be a connoisseur to appreciate really fine bottles of wine. It's important in order to pick up on the subtleties and nuances of the fragrance composition. If you are going to spend $700 on 100 mL, I think it is worth your while to try and fully appreciate this work of art. First of all, there is nothing synthetic going on here. The orange is completely natural. It smells like it came from your kitchen. The oud is the best you can get and also the most expensive. Everything is balanced. Nothing overpowering anything else. That is the result of an expert perfumer. The most impressive aspect in my opinion is how they handle the sweetness. Typically that's extremely hard to balance because the composition tends to lean towards too sweet, or it becomes synthetic, which is why many people cannot wear gourmand fragrances. It makes you sick to your stomach. Symphonium does not do that. It provides the space necessary for that wearer to have their own unique experience. The composition is so good that you can sit in it and enjoy the exploration of sensations, physical and emotional. If you are a collector, this is a must have.

Blind bought this after all the hype around this being the best gourmand and relaunched once again. Is it best gourmand ? Yes and no, depends what you expect from gourmand. This is gourmand that you can rock anytime and anywhere without causing headache to yourself and others but it's not super sweet like Lira for example or Italica which is pro for me but for others might not be. Chocolate and orange is perfectly blended with a hint of cardamon and vanilla at the back. It's linear fragrance, you will smell mostly chocolatte and orange with arm length projection and full day longevity, typical Xerjoff quality. Meanwhile where is the oud? I don't detect it, propably its just a backbone for the chocolate but than this should not belong in the 17/17 collection. This one and Homme should be moved to cheaper collections because they are nowhere near the quality of Pikovaya or Richwood for example. I dont regret buying this but at the same time for that price and 17/17 collection I expect much more. However if your collection is smaller and you are looking for versatile gourmand you can use anytime than you will be happy with the purchase.

Smells just like a chocolate orange, but it's not the cheap Terry's chocolate orange that I so despise -- and I like most fruit-chocolate combos! This is a freshly peeled, effervescent but perhaps slightly sugared/candied orange dipped in high quality rich, dark milk chocolate. Unlike the majority of so-called "gourmand" fragrances, which still smell perfumey, this is actually extremely edible. The tiniest hint of cardamom adds a spicy nuance that really allows the scent to pop off the skin. I don't notice the other notes in the opening, but after 60-90 minutes of drying down hints of vanilla and woods underlying the chocolate orange start peeking through. I wouldn't identify the woody notes as specifically oud if I wasn't told so, as they don't stand out much. Performance is quite excellent as well, with a consistently moderate projection over 3-4hr. I can pick up faint whiffs up to ~8hr, with 12hr+ longevity as a skin scent.

First I had Pink Sugar, then I heard about Profumum Acqua E Zucchero and moved up. Then I read about this, and thought, I gotta try this. As I found AEZ was a step up from Pink Sugar, more rounded and smoother. So then, I got this, and the opening is divine. I'm like, it smells similar, but wow, I must say, this is more interesting, but the finished dry down, every facet is glorious. It's sweet, I get the citrus up front, but I love the sugar so much. The three are all very similar, with PS and AEZ a close second. This is the choice between all 3 for me. It's a gourmand, and sweet, but not a foody fragrance. Although AEZ has a bit more sugary note, this one has that orange goodness. I LOVE IT! Do yourself a favor and sample this. There is danger though, because the more you wear it, the more you love it!

Imagine a scent that's sweet and spicy, with an earthy undertone. As you come closer to it, the smell becomes more intense until it almost feels like you're in another world. Symphonium is an elixir of magic as it registers both dry (dehydrated cocoa) and juicy (freshly-squeezed orange juice) to my nose throughout its stay on my skin. If Terry’s chocolate orange was opened by a sweaty-palmed child, (clean, just sweaty) then the ball rolled on a plate of Ricoa chocolate powder, that is what you get from this bottle. It will be hard to control your impulse not to smell this every few seconds because the sensation is just satiating borderline orgasmic. That nuance of sweat is musk perfectly blended with other notes you’d find when you look this bottle up, but for now, let me just continue wondering which occasion I will use this for.

Ahh Symphonium. You're extravagant, but extravagantly overpriced. I was lucky enough to source unboxed and ran a split on 100ml so my wallet was happy with me, for once. I don't get any oud, not even as support (I know oud fairly well, thanks to Ensar). I feel the Musks used are the main support here, which carry the most delicious Mandarin Orange and Belgian Chocolate atop. Maybe a hint of Cardamom (?) but I'm no expert. It's basically Terry's Chocolate Orange in spray format - but it's not Terry's, it's mine.

OMG! Fudge bucks - I have the EDP and felt in love with it. But, I wanted to buy the parfum version, I refused to pay the hefty price tag of $700. I have many fragrances in that price range, however I am not one to own the same fragrance in different versions until I found this one on sale for less than $300; then my principals went out the window. I can't wait to review this baby. I will be donating my EDP bottle to a lucky Youtube Subscriber.

An absolutely stunning fragrance. Gourmand without being overly sweet. The orange and dark chocolate opening is a delight but I revel in the dry down the most. The vanilla and oud are creamy and rich and LASTING. I got my bottle for 50% off at a discounter and could not be happier. Would I be this happy having paid full price? It's hard to say. The more you spend, the more you expect. But for the price I did pay, I want to shout its praises.

Omg. Smells just like chocolate with candied orange peel! What is this magic?? I don't like the taste of orange flavored chocolate but they do smell lovely to me and it is captured very realistically in this perfume. The chocolate eventually disappears and it dries down to a orange-y powdery musk. Come to think of it, the dry down really reminds me of the opening of Lira! Performance wise, it is a parfum so it lasts easily over 8 hours.

I have more than 100 fragrances that I like in my collection, but this is easily my current favourite fragrance among them. And it seems people like it too. I wore it today and received 3 compliments by noon! Longevity is excellent and projection is good. But I don't think you should pay this much money over a fragrance. No matter how good a fragrance is.

Imagine orange slices coated in white chocolate. And this doesn’t turn into another dull candy shop kind of thing, this chocolate melts beautifully. A masterpiece! And yes, they are similar to Sarah Baker Loudo/Gold Spot, but this one is much more elegant. However, if you want a wilder, more animalistic oud, then Loudo is definitely for you.

I find this to smell so luxe on me. The chocolate and orange mix well with my skin. The oud balances them out and rounds out the gourmand experience. Overall, this is a love and has a deserving permanent place on my shelf. I did get it for over half off, which is always a plus!! The bottle is gorgeous and the Dalmatian Jasper is so pretty!

Wow! Symphonium is unlike anything I've smelled before. It opens with this juicy burst of orange and mandarin that's both fresh and vibrant. Then comes the chocolate and cardamom - so unexpected but SO delicious! The dry down is warm and sensual with vanilla, oud, and musk. It's definitely a head-turner, but not overpowering.

This is the best scent I have ever smelt. Chocolate orange and cardamom, and oud with vanilla in the base. Last 10 hours plus, but that does not justify it costing 700$+. And it also lacks versatility. Feels like it was made only for special occasions.

Freshly squeezed orange juice, fine chocolate, cardamom, vanilla, and oud. It was breezy yesterday and I caught this on the wind...to die for! I can't stop wearing this.

To me this is an all year fragrance just like all my Xwrjoff I own .

Is there really a difference between the parfum and the regular symphonium? I've never seen different packaging for either one and even on xerjoff's website the parfum doesn't say parfum on the bottle. ANYWAY I have the 100ml. I figured, Xerjoff is my favorite house, never had a miss and I'm a gourmand addict so what's the problem? I blind bought it..... Should have listened to reviews. It's almost identical to pink sugar 😖 Yes yes it's better quality of course but the DNA is spot on. The chocolate is there for all of 2 minutes maybe, before it gives way to a musky citrus smell with a slightly sour nuance. Someone said it has a feel of a sweaty palmed kid holding an orange or something. SPOT ON! I just got it 2 weeks ago so of course I'm still going to give it time to grow on me. And with all that being said there is a quality that is slightly addictive to smell. It doesn't smell bad just not the chocolate gourmand scent that I had dreamed of. As of right now i like it, but think its exorbitantly overpriced. I wouldn't pay that again. I will come back and update in a few months but I already have a feeling I might turn out to really enjoy this one. I hope!! CHEERS!

So this one to begin with has no classic oud which is a goooood thing because oud can become too heavy and nauseating. From this point of view well done. The first blast is mandarin and chocolate and i though WOW i found it. I have Nebras and it smell kind of chocolateorangy but the smell is faint. Unfortunately last this chocolaty note for about 5 minutes. After that you stay with a spiced subtly floral vanilla. I find it annoying that the note profile lets you believe you are going to be left with something else. Absolutely a cold weather perfume and please dont get me wrong, it is a nice perfume and safely unisex. But i have two others who smell EXACTLY like it. The first ine costs about 30Euro and the other one from a niche italian brand 150Euro. So yes i fine the price from symphonium way too high because its not unique to me considering i already have two other perfumes who smell exactly the same. If you are interested in buying this one i could send a sample from it and also from the two others to compare. Just text me.

Tested this one today in a niche store, so I'll add my 2 cents to these mixed reviews. This had a WOW factor on the test strip. Quite unique, but I think it will smell a bit different to different noses, judging from other reviews. To my nose this doesn't smell like dark or milk chocolate, but rather a white chocolate or even cacao fruit, which I don't think blends as well with orange as dark chocolate does. I got a blast of musk on initial skin spray which was a bit annoying but faded to the background in the drydown. The oud is subtle, but the vanilla is prominent throughout. I'd love to know what this smells like with less vanilla and darker chocolate. A good unique fragrance but didn't wow on my skin. Not worth the price, unfortunately, but very few frags would be for this price (this store put it at around $440 for 50ml)

Similar but not exactly like pink sugar. On me this opened up with that deep orange chocolate candy (which is what I wanted). After around an hour it gets more fresh; less chocolate and more orange blossom. Still really pleasant, but it bares a resemblance to pink sugar. I think this is more sofisticated and less agressive then PS, and will probably not get that burnt sugar scent that pink sugar can develop. But, with that hefty price tag it is up to you to judge if it's worth it or not. I am still torn myself. But it's worth a sniff!

the opening is the same citrusy opening as Lira but quickly turns into a chocolatey citrusy musky scent. So delicious and perfect for the winter 9/10

One of the best of Xerjoff. Unique and lovely scent. Very good blended of ingredients.

Hugely overpriced fragrance. The first 5 minutes of this are wonderful, rich chocolate and orange, a familiar scent but unusual enough in perfumery. After that, however, it gets dominated by a clean white musk and the chocolate that was so good in the opening drops off far, far too quickly, leaving you with a synthetic, candied orange and white musk, with the telltale Xerjoff vanilla in the base. I can't smell any oud in this whatsoever, there is a very light, very clean leather-like scent that lies buried deep down that I suppose could be the oud, but it has barely any presence and makes this smell akin to the interior of a new, relatively fancy car. This is not a bad fragrance at all, it's actually perfectly pleasant and about 90% on the route to being brilliant, but I can't help but feel let down by both the promise of something much deeper and richer after the spectacular opening that falls far too flat, far too quickly. If it maintained the deep, thick and rich chocolate from the opening it would be stunning, but without it, it struggles to leave the realm of "just good enough" and for the asking price, that's well... not good enough.

Sickly sweet chocolate and vanilla scent. A slightly refined version of chocolate greedy by Montale. The orange is a good addition though. The only saving grace is the ever so slight oud at the base which gives it some character, but it's mostly undetectable. Too similar to a Belgian chocolate scent once done by perfumery.in of all brands. A hard pass...I regret even the 5 ml sample i got for a hefty price. Really disappointed. Don't hate it, just meh, especially for the asking price. If you don't like extremely sweet fragrances, this is definately not for you.

I purchased a full bottle. Beautiful top for 3 minutes. The heart starts at 4 minutes and becomes less round and spicier. After 20-30 minutes it becomes a screechy metallic musk skin scent. Really unfortunate. This perfume completely blows its load in the first 10 minutes. Then it’s borderline off.

A different chocolate scent than the usual chocolate/cacao smell other chocolate perfumes exude. The smell of chocolate in Symphonium is creamier, like smelling melted milk chocolate. The note of Orange is phenomenal. It smells like orange jam. They are the most salient notes for the first hour. After the first hour, these two notes dwindle and give way to a sugar candy smell. Some comments herein mention a similarity to Acqua e Zucchero. I would agree. I own Profumum’s Acqua e Zucchero. that's exactly what I get during the dry-down. I wish that the opening chocolate/orange combo lasted more. The vanilla is also present but as a backstage note. Two types of ouds are also listed as notes. I own various oud perfumes, many from Xerjoff and Kemi. I must say I don't recognize any oud whatsoever in Symphonium. If there is oud here it is extremely well blended. I think that during the first hour, Symphonium is an excellent perfume that is worth its money. After the second hour and thru the rest of its dry-down, I downgrade its smell from excellent to being just good. So for what you get after the first hour, I think Symphonium is overpriced. The perfume transforms itself from being the best chocolate-orange combination perfume I've smelled to just an imitation of Acqua e Zucchero, which is a great perfume, don't misunderstand me, but it is not something I would pay 470 euros for 100ml (current price). I still paid the advertised price to acquire Symphonium, nonetheless, which I own now just to enjoy that unique first hour of the beautiful chocolate-orange scent. After that first hour, Symphonium just smells just like sugar rock candy. Oh my skin, Symphonium lasts about 12+. It projects well during the first hour.

very disappointed. The orange is beyond synthetic and reminds me of cheap candy. The rest of the fragrance is well built (except for the sour plastic aspect which I think is coming from the oud). Really wanted to like this one, but it's so not worth it. Many scents I can see others liking but it isn't for me, this is one Id have a hard time recommending to anyone. A shame, as the notes are a great concept, and done better would be a home run. 3.5/10

Wore Symphonium 2021 2 times and i have strong association to a more polite version of Pink Sugar by some company. My sister got PS as a gift and used as occasional room spray so i remember the smell really well. As far as Symphonium goes - : 1) orange - yes, its present, but a bit like a orange flavored candy. Not a very realistic one. 2) Chocolate - yes, a very subdued milk chocolate. Not the black one, or the white chocolate like in Coromandel. Oud - not here. After first maybe 15- 20 mins its a white sweet musk. So much hype for such a trash. In 2020 i stated suspect that Xerjoff is dying as quality of their frags dropped significantly and Symphonium is a final nail in the coffin. Too bad as i really enjoyed quite a few of Xerjoffs, especially the oud line.

I wish they would stopped at orange and chocolate. Top notes are great but classic Xerjoff sour oud (musky?) base makes the fragrance very hard to love.

I got a third boxed sample of this since around 9 months ago thinking I’d want this & My review of this will be totally different than others. I found something disturbing that I do not like, And that thing would be How 7 or 8 hours later it’s still going in strong..It’s a powdery sweetness. Not citrus off my wrist, Not orange & Not vanilla or anything like the description..It is however reminiscent an awful lot of Zoologist Moth in which I bought a full bottle long ago & never ever wear it on the account of this excact same super duper cloying sweetness in which I wish I could put my finger on, It reminds me of Aquolina Pink Sugar in a sense! Perhaps it’s a super synthetic caramel? Not sure?? It’s very strong & very long lasting, But finally able to draw a synopsis on why this has been out so long and yet still hasn’t ever had the big raging buzz that so many other Xerjoff’s have received..It was still on me strong at the end of about a 10 hour day, But just smelled like an awful strong woman’s perfume with no personality whatsoever! It took me revisiting it to find out it’s a definite pass!!

Never smelled the other 2 versions of this so I can't compare this to that, however I do see the comparisons to Acqua e Zucchero that ive seen mentioned before and it was immediate. That being said, wearing them side by side they are different. But certainly the vibe and whisper you give off I think is mistakenly similar. This smells more natural, and of course a strong orange smell, with a slight chocolate smell. As it dies down the chocolate comes out a bit more as do the woods. Where as the Profumum Roma has that super sugary berry smell, and almost has even a slight clean soapy tinge to it. Price is insane, and although I like how it smells, and might even say it smells better than the other, price is just what it is. I'd also tempted to say its slightly more wearable than the other as well since even for a dude like me who is pretty ok with wearing sweet fragrances, the Profumum Roma is just so sugary sweet I rarely wear the little thing I have. Anyway... Ill give it a sorta worth the hype rating.

On my skin, Symphonium opens with an orange note that smells like orange essential oil and is joined immediately by a sweet oriental accord that is present in many sweet Xerjoff fragrances, it kinds of smell like orange flavored chocolate at this stage but it doesn’t have the slight earthy bitterness of dark chocolate. As time passes, it gets darker and sweeter, and it moves to slight spicy vanillic sweetness territory, I don’t detect any oud but it has an oriental accord that is present in many Xerjoff and Kemi fragrances. After some time, it becomes a simple vanilla and white musk combo. Unlike many gourmands, this doesn’t feel heavy or cloying. It shares similarities with Acqua e Zucchero but the sweetness in Acqua e Zucchero is leaning towards berry like sweetness. Overall, it is not a bad fragrance, but I feel that it is simple, one-dimensional and overpriced, the first few minutes are the best part of the fragrance.

I previously reviewed this but have decided to do it again after having used this more. It is, as I said before, really very stunning. My most recent review, on a bond 9 fragrance, laments what I have found to be a lack of genuinely exciting fragrances; this, though, is an exciting fragrance. You do, pretty much, get exactly what the note breakdown says - high quality orange at the top mixed so so well with the chocolate, before a rather sour musky dry down. I love this, and would wear it everyday if the weather allowed! However, I have found that whilst I feel this doesn’t smell particularly feminine on me, and whilst I feel there isn’t that much noticeable vanilla, those who smell it on me feel it is far more vanilla heavy than I do - it smells different to them. Is this an issue? Not really, in my view, but it depends wholly on the reason one wears perfume.

This is a Parfum, so all the talk of price under me must be taken with a grain of salt. Most people don't really understand concentration and how that factors into pricing. I believe this is 29 percent concentration. Which is rather low for a parfum, but I actually may be reading the box wrong. It says 71 percent by volume, but I believe that is referring to the alcohol concentration as it is the first ingredient listed. If it's 29 percent this could be viewed as overpriced and I get that. However, this is also limited, and labeled by batch and number. I actually really love the scent. It's def not a beast, but it's going to be great for the holiday times. We'll update after full wear

I can say this is a very pleasant clean gourmand scent not overly sweet or cloying , shampoo kind of a scent but high quality, way overpriced with a moderate performance, almost linear, smooth and the notes blended together nicely. Really nice. Update: If you want a much affordable alternative go with pink sugar very close like 95% only in the dry down when it settled with slight of harshness and sugary and acceptable quality, symphonium is much higher quality and smoother a bit denser gourmandy clean musk like, is it worthy? you are the judge.

I love love love this pure parfum! It is a smooth chocolate with sweet orange oils, not citrus. It's a well rounded gourmand, not too sweet, it still holds sophistication. The two different types of oud make it elegant without being woody. It stays true to its gourmand nature. I have received many compliments both from men and women, both in cold and warm weather. It is probably the most expensive perfume in my collection and I will repurchase it. You only need one-two sprays. It's powerful. PS: this is different to the edp

This has one of the best openings i have ever smelled. Photorealistic orange chocolate, that is somehow more. I hate gourmands, i don't want to smell like a dessert, but this has an extra something that makes the opening gorgeous. However, after 10 minutes, the opening is gone, and you're left with what smells like an orange scented hand lotion. Extremely boring. This phase does last quite a well, so if you're into that... i guess it's good. Personally It's a massive dislike overall, but the opening is a masterpiece.

I have tried over 40 different samples from Xerjoff and by far this is my favourite! It smells so good, opening gives manderin with chocolate and it mellos down into a super cosey vanilla scent. The scent also lasts forever, on the skin I can definitely smell it for a full day, on clothes it lingers on even longer! Bought a full bottle, but will definetely buy another one long before this is empty. It's only flaw is the price, but for me it's worth every penny, since nothing even comes close to it!

Gorgeous! chocolate and orange liquor scent. It has nothing harsh, it projects very well, the scent is so delicious! this is a chocolate lovers dream. It is expensive but worth every cent. Now available in Jomashop. Love! I need a back up! Compared to EDP I feel that the chocolate note is a little sweeter and stronger. The orange note seems the same, boozy and sweet. I really don't get much Oud if any at all.

I finally tried it today. Well, to my nose it is very close to Montale - Chocolate greedy. I love Xerjoff, but I don't think Symphonium is worth the price. There are way better gourmand fragrances. Sillage and longevity are ok.

Anyone in the UK selling samples of this? I loved the very opening and deep dry down of Symphonium but the Oud was too much for me, supposedly the Oud is toned down in this Parfum version so I’d love to try!

Great perfume. Sweet , just the way i like it. But it’s too similar to Pink sugar imo. Can’t justify having both in my collection. I’m glad i didn’t blind buy a full bottle , but got a sample instead.

Smells like casamorati lira perfume with depth added and a more natural citrus same family as aquolina pink sugar obviously less synthetic and longer lasting
