Citrus and Wood

I would never have thought of Yardley as being a great visionary perfume house, especially when I bought a bottle of Citrus & Wood, probably soon after it came out in 2011. I came across it looking for their cocoa butter soap and then also buying their citrus & wood soap too. I bought the perfume/edt as sort of an afterthought, mainly because it was so cheap. I probably paid less that $40 online for it. And promptly wore it a few times, but it apparently made little impression on me, and I don't know why. I'd had other woody scents beforehand that I liked. I must have bought something I liked better because Yardley Citrus & Wood got relegated first into odd parts of my perfume closet and eventually out of it entirely into the depths of a drawer I seldom open. Then just yesterday I thought, "gee, rosequeen, you have a lot of new wood fragrances on your wish list..." And "don't you have a bottle of that Yardley stuff...?" So now I'm considering Yardley a visionary. At least with Citrus & Wood. They certainly came to the woodsy party before almost any other perfumer house, niche or hugely commercial. I don't usually look at the perfumer profiles but I discovered Christian Provenzano, who made this, has since then made any number of exotic fragrances, some of them with oud and other woods that people are paying lots more for. To be clear, I'm talking about the original Yardley Citrus & Wood bottle, the one pictured here at Fragrantica. Square bottle with deep brown label. Some eBay seller is calling this bottle "the original formula," implying they've monkeyed around with it since 2011. I don't know what that bottle looks like, but a cursory search of other Yardley men's scents on eBay indicates that Yardley has at least changed the design of their bottles since 2011. This Citrus & Wood is a great fragrance, rich and woodsy and long lasting; 6 hours on my skin. The citrus is bracing without being overwhelming. Not at all sweet; men will like this one. I just noticed it isn't unisex like I thought; oh well, I'm a woman and I really like it. Good year round; well, on a cool 65 degree summer day anyway. Don't remember wearing it on a sweltering 90 degree day. And still very inexpensive online, but not a lot of them around. At least not today; maybe people bought up the supply for Father's Day. And you'd get away with buying it for your father too; it smells enough like the higher priced wood fragrances to be a good gift, especially to a father who thinks you spend too much on perfume, even when you've hidden most of your purchases from him. A frugal father would wear this stuff often instead of waiting for "special occasions." Frugal fathers consider no occasion is so special to warrant wearing a glitzy obviously expensive scent. (Which is why we see so many of them from varying eras on eBay.) I don't see any of the Yardley Citrus & Wood soap online though. Good thing I didn't blithely use my last bar thinking I could get more of them at any time. It's not 2011 anymore, rosequeen... Edit, April 8, 2022, nearly 2 years after my review: Yep, it's a huge clone of Terre D'Hermes, just like everyone says. So close I wonder if Hermes didn't sue Yardley, or press them very hard, to take the Citrus & Wood off the market. It certainly seems to have disappeared quickly. No sign of it on eBay either, now or about a year ago when I last looked.

MY YARDLEY McLAREN F1 SOUVENIR Yardley is one of those brand names that I recall very well from my childhood. I still remember the beautiful McLarens M19 and M23 that raced at Brands Hatch and Silverstone in Yardley livery, driven by Denny Hulme, Peter Revson and Mike Hailwood. Peter Revson (of the Revlon family of cosmetics and fragrances) won the 1973 British Grand Prix in a Yardley McLaren M23 at the Silverstone circuit and I was there to witness it. Drivers such as Jackie Stewart, Emerson Fittipaldi, François Cevert, James Hunt, Ronnie Peterson, Jody Scheckter, Niky Lauda, Clay Regazzony, Jacky Ickx and John Watson were all on that Formula One grid. The week after that F1 race, a bottle of Yardley (I can't remember which one) was the very first perfume I bought with my own money. I was 10 at the time. Citrus & Wood was released in the last decade and it's a very classy scent. It comes in a handy 50ml bottle that you can easily slip into your pocket. The citrus notes combined with the resins, birch, spices, amber and woods make a bold impression. The staying power is average, which is a shame because the ambery-woody dry-down is very pleasant. I have already bought three 50ml bottles of Citrus & Woods. I have more than 850 perfume bottles in my wardrobe and I wear this Yardley fragrance quite often. I like its earthy vibe and the fact that it slips neatly into my raincoat pocket on rainy days. I also wear Terre d'Hermes quite often. As a motor racing aficionado, my real personal problem with Hermés is that they have never sponsored McLaren or any other Formula One team, either in the 70s or in recent years. So I continue to reward Yardley by being a loyal customer of their fragrances. The fragrances - Citrus & Wood and Terre d'Hermes EDT - have an obvious similarity, but the Yardley bottle costs twelve times less per ml or ounce to be precise. The performance of the Yardley fragrance is inferior, but all I have to do is take the handy flask out of my pocket and spray it again. So, following my head and my heart, the Yardley flask took a chunk out of my Terre d'Hermes EDT usage. And my nose never complained about my head and heart's decision. I hope you don't mind a few little white lies in the text above. I still have the Terre d'Hermes EDP and EDT and use them a lot. It's a fantastic scent. My 50ml bottles cost me €10.00 each. At that price, I would only suggest that you buy at least one bottle blind. MUSIC: "Faster" by George Harrison Note: "Faster" was written and performed by George Harrison. I bought my third bottle last week. I have about 200 perfume flasks in my closet and what do I wear? .... Citrus and Wood!!!! .... and by the way, I used to wear Terre d'Hermes with some frequency. The real issue is that they never sponsored McLaren or any other Formula One Team neither back in those days, nor in any other year. The scents are really alike and the Yardley flask costs kind of 10 times less per ml or oz (13 times to be precise). So I just follow my head and heart and now the Yardley scent took the place of Terre d' Hermes. And my nose never complained with my head and heart decision.

Yardley's Citrus and Wood is a fantastic affordable scent and is (IMHO) a hidden gem. Well blended, lasts 3-4 hours on me, and reacts well to heat, especially if you are out and about. I'd recommend it for transition periods of the year (Autumn and Spring). Citrus and Wood gets compared (understandably) to Terre d Hermes. Although quite similar there are some distinctions. Longevity on TdH is better but at 3 times the price that is to be expected. Citrus and Wood is a little more restrained, it also is more linear. The Orange note from TdH is substituted with Lime, but, to be honest, if I smelled either on someone else I would be hard pushed to tell the difference. I got a boxset with 50ml Edt and 200ml Shower Gel for £16.95 (around $22 for friends across the Atlantic) and is an absolute steal for that price point. As dubairob states in their review buying the toiletries line is a great way to compliment either Citrus and Wood or Terre d Hermes fragrances (the later's toiletries line is criminally overpriced in my opinion) so can save you some money. Excellent!

Pek parfümleri birbirine benzetmeyi sevmem ancak buradaki benzerlik çok açık. Hem Terre yı hem Voyage ı bununla 3-4 defa karşılaştırdim ve açık ara Voyage a benziyor. İşin ilginç tarafı Voyage edt den daha güçlü parfüme ise yakın bir yoğunluğa sahip. Kalıcılık çok güçlü değil. Ancak beni asıl şaşırtan bu daha keyifli bir kullanıma sahip. Voyage ise özellikle ilk başlarda benim "yagli gibi" dememe neden olan bir havaya sahipken bu daha fresh tarafa yakın. Aradaki fiyat farkını söylemeye gerek yok. Bence bu fiyata çok başarılı. Voyage dan 1 yıl sonra piyasaya verilmiş ve açıkçası başarılı bir taklit olmuş. Ancak halen bunu onlarca kişi nasıl Terre ye benzetiyor anlamış değilim. Çünkü alakası yok.

Residing in an olfactory bubble of citrus and wood, or is it wood and citrus. Drying down nicely, keep cupping my nose in the residue of my palm, always a good indication. Not going to be evening romancing on this, but would do something active and productive...might even go into the workshop having been invigorated by its after shower freshness and mingle it with the scent of worked iron and sweat. Could equally enjoy it at the end of a days travelling in the heat after that first shower in a gem of a hotel, replacing the staleness of the day, on a small arid Greek island as the crickets begin their nightly chirp. Then I am joined by someone beautiful at the bar overlooking the moon lit sea and I was wrong, romance is in the air and the soft rythmic swoosh of sea on sand is the perfect foil for the scent haze and the contrasting smell of my new companion.

Undoubtably this is a Terre d'Hermes smell alike from the first sniff. It opens with a very beautiful, dark and tart vetiver note that sings a perfect duet with the citrus and made me close my eyes and inhale deeply. As it progresses it mellows down but never stops reminding me of a simpler TdH, the eau fraiche edition. Gone are the flint aspect, the strong sillage and the monster longevity of TdH as this wears much closer to skin. Not a bad thing though as this has a natural feel about it that makes it a "feel good" scent. One of these rare and often inexpensive gems that put a smile on my face (RnG vetiver was another one). The drydown is mossy and slightly musky but still retaining a sweet citrus character. Best news about it is that since it is much cheaper that TdH it offers itself up for abuse and overdose ;) Love it, wish it came in a bigger bottle!

Yardley is one of those brand names from my childhood. You bought their talcum powder as a gift for your granny! I hadn't given the brand serious consideration since! However, being very impressed with Terre d'Hermes after extensive testing, I did a lookup here to find close alternatives and Citrus & Wood was top of the list. I bought blind online. I'm not disappointed. It really does open and dry down like Terre d'Hermes. That bitter citrus opening note is captured perfectly and the heavier earthier notes follow up the same. I wish the longevity was better, however, the upside is that you can spritz this on generously without fear of being called 'Mr Cologne'! And at a fraction of the cost of the Hermes original, being generous with the spray certainly won't break the bank. A fun fragrance and strongly recommended.

Very similar to both Terre d'Hermes and Montale Red Vetyver. Also very similar to Roger & Gallet L'Homme Sport. The name sums it up very nicely: you smell citrus and woods. Though the simple and effective name doesn't quite describe how masterfully they are blended. Simple and amazing, a deep green scent. Smells excellent quality, especially compared to its price. Or should I say, regardless its price. I'm a woman who loves orientals but has to find something fresh for the summer, and men's scents such as this are just what I need for summertime. However I must add that the woody notes give it enough depth to be used in colder weather, too. Longevity is also much better than you would expect of a citrus scent.

I found this online for a very cheap price as part of a gift set. I checked the reviews on here and noticed that one person likened it to David Beckham Homme. Homme to me is an extremely underrated scent that actually got me started in collecting fragrances and to this day it remains one of my favourites and I can totally see when that one person said it was similar. The opening citrus blast is almost overwhelming, painful even but fortunately that harshness only lasts for a few seconds, then it immedately settles down into a delicious scent. I dig this one, a lot! Decent longevity and silage for the price. Get on it.

Terre D'Hermes' younger less-accomplished brother. Very nice for the price, but doesn't replace the beast known as TDH in anyway! This is the temporary fix to the cloud-nine high provided by TDH! Overall a good scent though! Do not misunderstand - this is NOT a bad review...simply noting that, although it does smell similar to TDH, it will not replace it simply because of the price tag. Shame it only comes in 1.7oz. If you find it at your local bargain store, do not hesitate to buy it! VERY SAFE BLIND BUY! Enjoy. UPDATE: Ended up ordering 3 more as backups...I REALLY like this scent!

As I die-hard niche perfumery fan, wary of wandering anywhere below Serge Lutens, I got the surprise of my life today. A friend asked me to accompany her in a pharmacy, of all places, and there it was - the perfume I'm going to drown in all winter, with a 15 euro price tag! A-ma-zing perfume, I sprayed it heavily on me, my clothes, and every piece of paper I carried with me, I'm in love! When I see quality, I know it, and this marvel has it. I'd love to wear Terre d' Hermes too if it were available in my country. Oh, and I'm a girl :)

To start we have a lovely opening of lime and bergamot nicely blended. Then it gets more potent, woody and soapy with great sillage - it's a very pleasant long lasting drydown. Yardley have produced a gorgeous EDT here and it wasn't expensive - a very good purchase - nice bottle and packaging too. I tried Terre de Hermes at the airport duty free and immediately thought "Yardley Citrus & Wood". A gorgeous frag and a bargain. Never mind the price, this is up there with the very best - a gem.

I agree very much so with the previous commenter, I blind bought a bottle of this, think it cost me £7, what a revelation. Zesty and woody, worked nicely with the chemistry of my skin. Smells fairly expensive, didn't last amazingly on, but for how much it costs it doesn't really matter. I wonder had Yardley branded this differently, maybe under a different name how would it have done. Yardley's history of Lavender and Soap does not help. Great fragrance all round.

We've been waiting long for the legendary manufacturers of toiletries to provide men with a new fragrance but the wait was worth it. This little gem which can be purchased at a very reasonable price will never let you down. The citrus notes don't seem to dominate the whole, the scent develops rather towards the woodsy overtones - and that's very, very masculine. To cut a long story short - go for it! It's bound to become a modern classic soon.

I love this perfume! On a side note: it really resembles Terre D'Hermes a lot. Both Yardley and Terre are great scents. I love both! The biggest difference between them is that, Yardley's most important note is BIRCH. Before Yardley I did not know I love this note. Birch with vetiver... Everyone should try this great scent! Also has a rather good price tag, and for that price, you will not find many well blended scents like this!

What a glorious summer fragrance! Harsh lime and vetiver opening, tart, dry, almost medicinal, quickly moderated and enriched by luxurious cedarwood. Nice birch and oakmoss notes, too. Longevity is moderate, 5-6 hours on my skin (and more on cotton shirt), sillage is quite strong in the first two hours. Pleasant woody drydown, with a drop of bergamot oil. Very affordable, it doesn't feel cheap at all! Recommended.

This is brilliant, I bought it a long time ago, and now I can regret I only got one bottle. Although I have two similar fragrances (a Terre dupe and Roger & Gallet's L'Homme Sport), so I'm set for decades. A forest full of clean air, green mosses, fresh air... It's so green... like in the movie Death at the Funeral where they just keep yelling how green is everything. Yes it's pretty much the same as Terre.

Had to add a quick Christmas review, what a great Christmas gift this one turned out to be, hate to say I turned my nose up a little when I saw it, but wow what a cracker. I have to agree that the drydown does share a lot of similarities with Hermes. Having revisited this I will be using this a lot more then the last bottle, which for some reason is way off the new one. Gorgeous lime opening, love it..

read my other reviews and find out if you (more or less) agree with my humble opinion(s)... this one is indeed soooo similar to terre d'hermes...that i rather buy this cheapie...fact. Spray on your clothes for better longevity. Nah just kidding. The OG is still better but when you ́re on a budget, you can get this one for sure. 8,5/10

Citrus and Wood smells exactly like Terre de Hermes with less performance but also the price is 5 times lower then Terre De Hermes. Very masculine smell. This is worth giving a shot. This has the same notes as Terre de Hermes. I blind buy the bottle and I am satisfied that I bought this bottle.

I just got this and as a woman, I love it- I'm a big cedar fan as well as citrus and this is just the right combo with out all the fluff usually associated with womens cedar scents.Not in the notes but to me it's got a very marine quality-salty air and a little seaweed smell....my new favorite

I am amazed by how closely this resembles Terre d'Hermes EDT. What a beautiful scent and at such a low price, wow. Sillage is moderate but longevity is actually pretty good, more than I had expected. Most definitely worth the money!

Cheap, lime , birch, inexpensive TDH, nice smell, i like it I like it better than TDH. i have them both. this is more woody, and not so heavy

I adore this fragrance, and you can't beat the price. My only complaint is that it lasts no more than about 30 minutes on my skin.

Well - what is this...Yardley? I find your bar soaps to be fair (and classic) when I can grab one at the Dollar Store. But, this bottle of juice is something else - entirely. I give you a round of applause. I read some other online reviews of this and went blind on a bottle as it is relatively inexpensive. Very, very natural smelling! I love how the citrus has a soft and warm element with the wood immediately - there is no sharpness here. Wonderfully smooth and harmonious. The notes don't lie - there is Birch wood in here (I know - I used to work in a wood shop). The warmth of the amber enriches the base here so nicely with the cedar and sandalwood. Nice pinch of pepper - not overly done. This is truly as 'advertised', Citrus & Wood. A slight touch of moss, but just enough (a dash is perfect here and, honestly, an unnecessary but very welcome addition). A solid scent, but it is one you need to be close to, or on the skin to admire. Longevity...fair, about 30 minutes in and this is fully integrated and it lasts for several hours on skin, but not loud. I am going to the back of my hand repeatedly - nice, very nice. However, I would have to say that it wears so naturally that if it was full of synthetics to make it last a little longer, it would lose all of its 'au naturelle' goodness. I like it, as is. This is a great little creation (a hidden gem that is talked about more now - finally, as I got my bottle in very early 2012, soon after it was released). One that will wear in warm weather nicely as it develops...I think this shines at 75 degrees or warmer and radiates more. But, it smells awesome and warming on a cool, crisp winter day - so wear it whenever. Surprised me more than a little - even though the other reviews (by people whose noses, know their scents) brought me to buying this a while back...cheers!

*I do not have a nose that is well trained - this is my rudimentary opinion of this scent* Exactly as the name says, this smells like citrus and wood. A very nice scent that projects well for a good 4-5 hours and hangs around on the skin for several hours after that. This is a very versatile cologne that I think could really be worn on any occasion - formal or casual, work or play, day or night. In the cold weather it may not get noticed too easily but going with a couple extra sprays should help a bit. I've only had the opportunity to wear this a couple of times but one of those times was back home in the kitchen with my mother preparing dinner. I was sitting at the table and she passed by to snatch up a plate, she stopped dead in her tracks, leaned in and exclaimed how absolutely fantastic I smelled. She's a fan of masculine scents - not one who likes a man wearing sweeter scents like A*Men. To quote my dear mother, "Wow, you smell amazing! Wear that and you'll get yourself a nice little chick-a-do." Gotta love her =) The kicker, I got it for a quite nice price, ~15 for a 1.7oz bottle. I've looked to pick up an extra bottle to keep on hand but I can't seem to find it anymore for nearly the same price(only a couple of weeks after I got my first bottle), wonder what happened to it?

As i haven't tried Terre des Hermes, I am not able to say whether they smell alike. What I can say is that C&W opens with a sharp, alcoholic blast of lemon that within the next 30 minutes evolves into an extremely pleasant, refreshing drydown with birch, vetiver and sandalwood. It's a very pleasing allround scent for adult (30+) fellas that can be used for work as well as leisure time - only be aware you shouldn't use this as a refresher in betweens meetings - or your colleagues will think you've just downed half a bottle of gin until the drydown settles ;-) I really like this little cheapie, though the "standard" bottle with the paper label does look really - well, cheap! Sillage is medium/OK, but the longevity rather poor - I get a max of 3 hours from this baby. A recommendation for Yardley should be to give it some steroids, make a long lasting intense or EDP version and stuff it into a somewhat more classy bottle. They could easily double the price, and I would still be buying it.

I was very, very impressed with this fragrance initially, it goes on strong and really is full of Citrus and woods as the name suggests. Sharp citrus opening which is neither lemon, grapefruit, bergamot but then slightly orange too. The balance is added by Cedar, vetiver and birch smoke, hint of spices in particular ginger and oakmoss, which had me thinking I'd found a real masculine gem in Yardley Citrus and Wood. The main problem comes when it doesn't even last an hour on my skin, before it just goes 'poof' into the ether, leaving nothing behind. I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to performance but I can't rate a fragrance that is this poor on longevity, no matter how good the opening is. Sorry this gets a thumbs down from me.

I bought this for $8 @ tj maxx the other day as a blind buy because it was so cheap and I love woody fragrances with light citrus. This is a great smelling little fragrance. It's really sharp and to the point on opening. I smell the citrus immediately...more like grapefruit with lime and spicyness. It settles down to a crisp vetiver/bergamot combination that smells very very good. It doesn't last very long on me... maybe a couple hours at most but at 8 bucks, who cares? I bet it will last a lot longer in the hot weather. Oh, I've never smelled Terre de hermes but I get a much lighter Encre noir on the drydown, maybe its the vetiver and wood.

I will agree that this is very similar to Terre D'Hermes. I think the performance of Hermes is better, but for the price, Yardley is a winner. The scent is not too complex and stays pretty much the same from start to end, besides the citrus "blast" in the beginning. Lasts about 4 hours on clothes, and with my chemistry, about 3 hours on the skin. To be honest, I have only used this scent in the Winter thus far, so performance could change in the warmer months when heat and humidity will play a role!

Exactly like it's name is suggesting, this is a woody citric fragrance. After owning this and Terre d'Hermes for a while, I can say that they share some similarities, Yardley being more synthetic and dry and it lacks the creaminess and richness. Also, the orange is substituted by lime. If you want a cheaper version of Terre, this is one. But beware, it feels synthetic and it performs worse. Scent: 7/10 Longevity: 5/10 Projection: 3/10

When I had Citrus and Wood by Yardley, I did not like it. It was a weaker clone of Terre d'Hermès but smelled way sharper than TdH did in the opening. I almost trashed it but kept it and sprayed it on my off-season clothes. One year later, my clothes smelled like woods and vetiver; it was heavenly! Now I wish I had bought more bottles of Citrus and Wood by Yardley just as fabric refreshner.

It smells like Citrus and Wood:) And yes a clone of hermes but extremely cheap version however this scent is not bad but actually I like it a lot. It so suitable for daily use masculine woody smell. Longevity is not su much but keep the half of the day. Especially for that price definitely it should try and wear.

Opens with loads of pepper, woodiness & orange. In the dry down that woodiness becomes smoother with a very tiny hint of pepper. Moderate longevity & projection. More mileage can be obtained by using the body spray (which smells smoother!) with EDT.

One of my favorite parfume is H'ermes Terre and this is really like it. Not bad but not good enough, only positive side of it, more cheap than Terre. But can't be the same.

The best men's fragrance from Yardley. Refreshing. Makes you feel good. But the fragrance does not last long.

Maybe there is a difference in the bottle manufactured in UK and the one done in UAE. Got the UAE one. The opening is horrible .Dry-down (Orange) sandal note . Cant get any other notes mentioned here. Sucks

smells like nail varnish. if it smells like terra d'hermes, im going to save my money by not buying it. I just don't like the smell at all, its just so boring.

Nattonline. The logo used by Creed that you mention is the heraldic French symbol, the "Fleur de Lys" meaning "lily flower". This has been used across Europe for centuries and, thus familiar to most people living on our continent. The symbol that you refer to on the bottle for this (Yardley) fragrance is the heraldic badge of the Prince of Wales, made up of feathers and a crown of alternating crosses and Fleur de Lys. The two badges (the other belonging to the British monarch) on the bottle indicate that Yardley supply products to both of these royal households. Companies using these coveted seals will have had to go through a rigorous process in order to be entitled to use either of them. I'm no royalist by the way!!!! I'm waiting for delivery of a bottle as I write. At under £10 delivered from Amazon, it's worth a go to satisfy my curiosity. Incidentally, Yardley have updated the packaging to look more contemporary, sophisticated, and befitting of the contents (and put the price up!), but original bottles are still available. Well, it's arrived and after an hour, still going strong! It does smell extremely similar to TDH EDP and nicely tamed by the addition of birch. Well worth the blind buy. A true bargain, so another visit to Amazon, I think!

this smells as close to terre de hermes as you will find. I do have terre de hermes and quite love it. However, today I just came across a bottle of Yardley Citrus and Wood. I purchased it without testing as the price was to good to pass up. Once home, upon intial spray I said to myself this smells really familiar. Then it hit me. Terre de hermes ! It basically has the same notes. Citrus on the top and vetiver in the base. Yardley C W is a nice fragrance though it smells like something I already own. There are slight differences but nothing big or unpleasant. If you already own terre de hermes, Yardley C W will still be a nice addition. This is something you can put in your gym bag or take during traveling, while saving your terre de hermes for more special moments. If you don't have terre de hermes and find it to expensive, Yardley C W is a nice solution as it doesn't come off smelling like a cheap imitation. I do like this one.

Man, I really like this stuff. It smells pretty close to cedarwood essential oil. Not as strong and abrasive, but its there. Terre D'Hermes has that too, except more blended with something like violet or something. This is a slightly purer cedarwood. I had this before Terre D'Hermes, so I actually prefer it to it. I have to say that both of these are in my top 10 though. I've gotten lots of complements from women with both. I don't think this stuff would be for everyone though. Its not an aquatic, so its not really sporty or anything. Its woody and light though, just with some sophistication. This is a scent of a man. Not a younger man who isn't mature yet. This is a mature scent without being old. Mature, sophisticated, non-offensive. Absolutely, not synthetic. Very woodsy. If this scent works for you it will work well, if it isn't your style I'd pass. It's definitely for me.

Hmmm... Is that the same logo on the box that can be found on Creed? Anyway, I have been a fan of Yardley soap products for a long time, and it's no brainer not to get this fragrance when I saw it at a bargain (Gotta love TJ Maxx!) Yes, I get a similarity to Terre d'Hermes too. The obvious differences that I can think of would be the Yardley is more simple and more about clean green lime while Terre d'Hermes is more complex and rich in orangey notes. Plus, I get a lot more of bitter vetiver than heavier cedar. It is fresh, invigorating, strong, and can be a little sharp. Nonetheless, it is nice and very inexpensive for what it is. I welcome it 100% to my collection.

The ironic part of our little hobby, is the variety with which we perceive the same thing. I have always read reviews ,but am not really influenced. If I can afford and most times I can, I will buy a fragrance that is said to be like another I may know and judge for myself. This now is another classic example. My nose is not as cultured or to the extent some claim their noses to be. For those of us whose noses are not, I say go for the gusto with this scent, you are missing a lot in not getting it and you are gaining a classic. A ton remains in your pocket and you will be noticed wearing this scent.

This was a blind buy and I was worried that it might smell like lemon funiture polish. However considering the low price and the very favourable reviews I decided to give it a go and was very pleased with my purchase. What you get is a very refined and very classy smelling fragrance. It may be a 'cheapie' but in no way does it smell like it. Essentially it does exactly what it says on the bottle in the fact that it smells of both citrus and wood. Not a particularly helpful statement you may think, but it delivers exactly what it promises and that is never a bad thing.

Gets up my nose.Doesnt soften after wearing into the sexy beast that Terre D'hermes is. I suppose this is o.k for office wear but I find it too linear and on me it has gone in an hour. Like one of the previous reviewers I purchased from that famous U.K discount outlet. I also bought the shower gel which helps with longevity but even with this it still needs more lasting power. Glad I didnt pay full price a bit too peppery for my liking.Might be donating it to a "favorite" uncle sometime in the near future. Out of 10,all round, a 4.5 from me...

Wow I'm so impressed with this blind buy all most to good to be true Ive spent up too $350 of all times and as low as $25 for the most unique perfumes I spend allot of my time reading and testing perfumes for men i have a large collection of fine perfumes and now excited to to share with you that Yardley has earned a a spot in my top five list.This juice is hrs and some from the start to the finish three good sprays.Once this juice hits the main stream look out!!And yes if you like Terre d'Herme's you will love Yardley Thanks [email protected]

$7.95 in my country and nobody talks about it. (All the better for me haha) Longevity is good with 4 sprays (6/7hours) in climate control (aircon room). Moderate projection for the first 2 hours. (1 arm's length/across the table) Longevity is halfed in the heat but it PROJECTS when mixed with your sweat. I used it for dragonboat training and once got a remark from a mate that he felt thirsty for Calamansi after practice!! It's not a perfect clone, Yardley is more Lime than Orange but the woody notes come very very close.

For those who really enjoy Terre d'Hermes, I would recommend the Yardley Citrus and Wood deodorant spray and talcum powder to complement the fragrance nicely. They are essentially the same fragrance as the original Hermes and both are good products. I have tried this Yardley EDT but unfortunately the performance is poor for me. I'll still stick with TdH as an EDT. (As an aside, I am going to finish my bottle of TdH and not replace it as I am noticing it all over the place here in Dubai. Just way too popular.)
