Pohadka

Pohadka from Ys-Uzac is an amazing agrestic perfume that smells like nothing else. It feels like a cross between Fougere Bengale and Tabac Tabou, sprinkled with minty Shiso on top. Subtle and long-lasting, natural smelling, and elegant while remaining an artistic exercise in this genre. It blooms in the heat. The opening is all about minty Shiso, grass, and hay. Bright, invigorating, warm, and green. Like taking a road trip in the countryside and lowering your car window to get a whiff while chewing mint-flavored gum. Shiso is traditionally used in Japanese cuisine and has this sparkling minty flavor to it. A unique touch in this composition that works so well. The best part about it is that this accord lasts well through the heart of the perfume, not just as an opening burst. Soon, the composition warms up as the Immortelle starts creeping in, lending a beautifully sweet, herbaceous touch. Perfectly dosed and not too heavy. This ingredient can sometimes feel overpowering but here it is light and caressing. The same goes for the Jasmine accord that sides with the immortelle. A mere whisper. The base displays powdery tobacco and soft brown leather, pairing seamlessly with the immortelle. It settles down like a glowing golden-brown flume, just like the sun sets down the landscape at sunset. It feels like a trip in the countryside ending at dusk, when the colors deepen over the land just like the perfume settles from a bright, invigorating opening on a richer, brown-hued base. Excellent craftsmanship and an overlooked perfume. One that should be on the sampling list of all fans of agrestic compositions or fans of Cortichiatto's style, as it does hint at the aforementioned Parfum d'Empire compositions while staying original. Pohadka (which is Czech for fairy-tale) is a wistful ride in the countryside, listening to ambient or dream pop on the stereo, driving into the green hills to disappear for a while. The most notable feature is its shiso (perilla leaf) note, feeling warm, herbal-minty, sour-powdery and refreshing. It steals the scene in the opening, drawing the curtains open to the panorama of cut grass and sheaves of hay, wild and unruly grey-green mugwort. Its calm, horizontal expanse is further drawn through the fragrant nicotiana blossoms, flowers that yield a scent that intersects vanillic tobacco and jasmine, further punctuated by an immortelle and labdanum. This combination reminds me of sweet woodruff and dried deer tongue. Subtle damp vegetation, smoky air, and hazy elements lead Pohadka into a twilight direction, twinkling and cerulean-blue. It is poetic by design, and could be easily misunderstood, deserving the right type of audience to embrace its every turn.

Pohadka is a true stunner, reminiscent of running through a dreamlike field in the countryside in late summer, the sun having just gone down and dusk starting to approach... Out of breath, you let your knees drop into the soft grass and earth beneath you, and lean in to inhale the sweet scents of the land... At once herbal, hay-like, powdery, leathery, faintly smoky—maybe just ‘hazy’—and with a subtle, intoxicating sweetness, I find this to be extraordinarily well blended, the materials precisely chosen and deftly administered to bring about a novel, synergistic whole. Absolutely refined and sophisticated, yet still capturing a childlike wonder—the innocence found in the simple enjoyment of an early Autumn eve... Sillage moderate, longevity outstanding, bottle very nice. Recommended to herbal and nature lovers alike. Much more could be said about the nuances of components but I’ll just leave this more impressionistic for now. Bravo, good sir!!!

Beautiful and unusual. The first part I do not like much,but after some time everything changes... is a clean scent, light and melancholy. I'd like rainy days in autumn, I like how it evolves turns slowly, almost "shy", after about one hour reveals all its beauty almost "artistic". I like it because it's different and well done .. is as if you are walking along a path with grass, trees, and leaves flying because of the wind .. I like. The sillage is soft, but the longevity is very good (10 hours). Recommend to try. Sillage: 5.5/10 Longevity: 8/10 Scent: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

This is a very delicious daywear scent. Fresh, sweet, strange; i can not stop sniffing my hand ( looks very strange for other people.. you recognise that?) It starts a bit like you wake up in a tent at a green campside, bit late cause you had a party the night before, you open the tent and than...you'll smell the sunriped but fresh grass! A little later you will smell the lovely leather, very soft tabacco and mint, the immortelle takes it over from the tobacco and last very long. A masterpiece!!

There was a time when I loved the summers here, but in recent years they have been scorching, and I wait for late summer and autumn, when this perfume comes into its own beautifully. Fresh yet warm—how I love this. I love the color green, but over the years I realized that doesn't apply to the scent and I was disappointed with almost all the green perfumes I discovered, but this one is an exception and is amazing!

Pohadka is unlike anything I've smelled before! It's this beautiful blend of green, grassy notes with a touch of sweetness from the tobacco and vanilla. The leather adds depth and intrigue without being overpowering. It lasts for ages too, which is always a plus. Highly recommend!

I'm wearing this today on a beautiful spring day, something in the register of Histoires de Parfums. What a wonderfully lovely perfume. Perfect for fall, and I'm going to reserve it for that; it's definitely something to look forward to. And I'll definitely layer it with 1740.

Pohadka opens quite dark. I smell liquorice and something boozy, a bit of mint or camphor, sage, dusty notes, some minor metallic notes as well. Then, the labdanum and tobacco develop, combined with dried hay notes and sage. The scent becomes slightly sweet. Hints of ambroxan become apparent in the background. The ambroxan become stronger and then starts to settle down and dissapears completely. The drydown is a sweet, dry, dusty tobacco. Sillage and longevity are moderate. This scent is rough. It is sweet due to the vanilla, harsh due to the tobacco, dry due to the immortelle and labdanum, mysterious due to the sage and then last but not least, minty. Right on top of the herbalness lies a layer of nose-tickling freshness. Very interesting scent. Shame about the ambroxan, it doesn't work with my skin. If you like herbal scents and can do ambroxan, try this one. I absolutely loved the complex opening and the yummy tobacco drydown, but the ambroxan phase I would really like to skip.

The opening is bitter and green. I can clearly feel immortele which gives a medical vibe and artemisia. Soon it is joined in by a feminine leather remind me more of suede than leather actually. The composition is very well made and this - even tough I would not wear it, because I simply do not enjoy these types of scents - is finally something from Ys Uzac I think is worth the price tag. The heart part is a beautiful leather with a syrupy touch to it. I could swear there is plum, because the scent at this point is very dark, seductive and sweet. There is still the medical vibe in the background and all together it goes on perfectly. Clearly a unisex, worth a try if you are in a lookout for a good aromatic dominated by leather.

Explosive departure of shiso that reminds me of the sweetened fine powder of green cewingum ... and snuff! Abundant whiffs of sage, jasmine, immortelle, labdanum, tobacco, green herbs spin quickly overlapping. It fades into a fresh, green, sweet, fairly weak leather, soon becoming a scent for the skin with the light aura of a green jasmine tea. Refreshing. Always ending green but dusty, vanilla. Abnormal but not too much, intimate, warm and comfortable. It's ok, unisex, nice, fast in evolution and a little short on performance.

The first thing I get on spraying this is a sort of toothpaste vibe. I see that the top note, shiso, belongs to the mint family, which presumably explains the fresh-from-the-bathroom smell. That recedes quite soon. The other noticeable note to me is the immortelle, which reminds me of the eponymous face cream. It is also a bit grassy, but more like sweet, non-dusty hay, I'd say. Quite nice, interesting perfume. Good for rural activities.

Mint gum, soft dewy jasmine, herbs, tobacco, leather (reads more like suede to me)... A very soft (low silage) masterfully blended work of art. Each note complementing eachother so well. I'd never blind buy this but would like a small decant one day just to relive the gorgeous marriage every once in a while.

A beautiful experiment: when the green notes meet the leather .... freshly cut grass, smoke, ash, wind !. They remind me of some prodigies of Andy Tauer and Alessandro Gualtieri. I love it.

Out of all the scents from the line, this so far had the best reviews and I was on the point of ordering it blindly. I am glad I did not... I could sum it up in few short words- nose in an ashtray. And I could finish my review like this, but I will elaborate a bit more. A variety of notes is listed here, none of which ever appear on my skin. No shiso, no jasmine, no fresh grass. But a massive punch in the face of dry tobacco. Then leather creeps up after a while, making the experience not more pleasant, but at least a bit more varied, but even leather cannot cope with the overpowering tobacco. I would not go out wearing this, neither would I enjoy being in a company of someone who does.

He—or she—has just stepped out of a flawless bath and gone to smoke a cigarette in the garden. The landscape is breathtaking. A vast meadow stretches as far as the eye can see. Smoke rises slowly through the fresh air while green dominates the horizon. And that's exactly how Pohádka presents itself. Despite the presence of tobacco, this is not a heavy or wintry perfume. On the contrary, I imagine it working best in summer or on mild, sunny days. The protagonist here is shiso, an ingredient widely used in Japanese cuisine, bringing a green, aromatic, and unique facet that permeates the entire composition. The blond tobacco is present from beginning to end, but never steals the show. It serves as a structure for something much more intriguing: a feeling of freedom, of open fields and vegetation caressed by the wind. There is something frenetic and at the same time serene in this construction. It transports me to European meadows that seem endless. I was recently in Italy, and that intense green remains vivid in my memory. Somehow, Pohádka makes me imagine an intersection between Italy, Switzerland, and Germany—places where nature and sophistication coexist in perfect harmony. It's a perfume that speaks of these landscapes. Of light filtering through leaves. Of cigarette smoke dissolving in the pure morning air. Everything about this brand is unusual. Even its entry-level creation completely escapes the obvious. There's a clear artistic signature, a constant search for textures and sensations that defy the conventions of traditional perfumery. A masterful composition. I can easily imagine a doctor wearing Pohádka while practicing their profession: someone cultured, calm, observant, and self-assured, whose elegance is revealed in the details, not in ostentation. Aromatic. Green. Tobacco-like. Things of Vincent Micotti. 9/10 — A perfume that transforms smoke, nature, and intelligence into olfactory art.

Grassy and green Leather/Tobacco... Pohadka smells very green and fresh. When I smell it I get this picture of being on a green grassy hill surrounded by pleasantly fragrant flowers and leafs in the crispy clean mountains of Switzerland. The leather scent is prominent also. It's soft and easy going. I asked Lucky Scent for recommendations on tobacco based fragrances. This was one of them. So I purchased a sample of Pohadka along with some other tobacco scents. As a tobacco fragrance, it disappointed me. The tobacco is very light. Honestly, the little I could smell vanished after the first fifteen minutes (so I guess it is more of a top note in my experience). However, if you are looking for a non-citrus fresh fragrance (I personally I'm tired of citrus-based "freshies"), Pohadka is worthwhile looking into. Pohadka has a very soft silage. You can wear it close to people at work at would not offend anybody with it. Even though it is a soft fragrance, its duration is rather long. Again, if you are looking for a herbal/green/flowery "freshy" with a soft leather undertone that you'd like to agreeably wear in the proximity of people, check this one out. If you are looking for a tobacco scented fragrance, this is not it. 8/10

This is one of the few perfumes I've smelled that uses sage to its greatest potential. Sage plays a vital role in this very unusual creation. When it is combined with artemis, tobacco and vanilla, a curious accord is created. I find that the more I wear my dwindling sample, the more attached to this smell I become. I agree there is just a touch of melancholy to Pohadka. It smells to me like March and April, when its endlessly rainy. There is something of the dampness of the landscape of spring in this bottle. And yet oddly, this doesn't detract from the beauty of the parfume. Unusual scent experience which is very hard to pin down. This is perhaps why I am drawn to it.

Pohadka strikes as quite compelling and original yet, somewhat, not completely satisfying. There's a nice juxtaposition between warm smoky notes such as immortelle and vanilla and cold green ones (tobacco leaves, grass and shiso). Hints of mint and something else verging towards the licorice, provide a strident accord when played together with the vanilla which is appealing at first but turns sort of annoying with time. Sweetish, smoky, dissonant. All aspects that could make a great fragrance but, somewhat, Pohadka fails. I would classify this as a warm-cold composition with a great potential but, after all, the wrong tuning. Sample first. Rating: 6.5/10

This smells like sadness. I don't know how to say it other than that. It is uncommonly melancholic. It reminds me of walks in the mist in the cold, dark, fall. Cold and dying. Trying to be warmed up with the sweet of tobacco and immortelle, but more like a whimper of a death rattle. I don't know why, but I would sincerely avoid a person if they wore this. The quality is okay, and the packaging is excellent, but wow, smelling it is like being sent on a bad acid trip filled with memories of painful emotions.

this is a masterful composition. there is just the right amount of leather, perceiveble but not overwhelming. the herbal notes are quite original. one of the plants used for the heart of this fragrance smell a bit like licorice which is good. the tobacco is very fresh. a hint of vanilla makes the whole experience a little brighter, but not too much because it's a well concealed and smoky vanilla. full bottle worth.

This composition smells like a tobacco leaf set on fire with baby powder to cool the flames. The notes aren't as easy to detect unless you looked at the ingredients and for me that's not a bad thing. The main accords in this fragrance has been done many times in many ways. All in all, the 1st hour to this fragrance smells very exotic. After it settles, it's no different than any powdery scent out there.

that powdery blond tobacco is just amazing. it starts differently in a very greeny way then turns into that masculine light tobacco in few minutes leaving it as major sensual bomb on my wrest. quite captivating and luring. Edit (19th May 2017) There is something minty, something like a toothpaste as well that reminds me of their "Metaboles" fragrance.

Ashtray and spearmint. Cigarettes and mint gum. This was my signature scent when I was 20 and that was before I put purfume on

On my skin it even survived a shower. And i do shower with soap...Different, unusual, catchy
