Monoï Vague d’été

Look, you have to appreciate this one for what it is (a tropical white floral that smells like Monoi oil) and not lament what it’s not (a $300 bottle of white floral perfection). I’ve smelled a ton of tropical summer fragrances, and this is probably the best for the price point. It blows many other higher priced fragrances out of the water. There are better ones out there, I own a few of them and will likely buy a few more. But, I will reach for this all summer long. It is cheap, unpretentious and smells exactly as promised. To me, it smells nearly identical to the Yves Rocher Monoi oil, which I use daily in summer. And, when layered with the oil, the scent lasts 5-6 hours. I thought, wrongly, that this wore close to the skin. But then yesterday, I arrived to pick my children up from school and a trio of masked parents asked me what I was wearing which was both impressive and disconcerting. Last thing. Many tropical fragrances that I have tried (and not limited to lower price points) have smelled synthetic, flat or shampooey. This has none of that.

Tiare & Monoi-Oil Heaven...Ahhhh Succulent and buttery Monoi Oil (Tahitian gardenia petals soaked in coconut oil) is the star in this underrated beauty. Takes a few weeks after first sprays for the magic to happen. This has a quality feel to it, like this is how tiare and Monoi oil are supposed to smell,. I'm really impressed by this. I'm a fan! 10/10. Comparison to Holidays Mancera: These are different, although they've been compared. They do both have a beachy coconut & white-floral vibe, but Holidays is sweeter with a marine accord and more of a blend along the lines of a marine version of Alien Goddess. Overall: Well above average performance and excellent value. This has the performance to be worn year round, but it's best when you're feeling the need for a tropical island lift. It's a love for me. Enjoy! Edit 02/15/24: I like layering this over Dolce Garden Dolce&Gabbana to add some sweetness and prolong the tropical aspects of Dolce Garden.

It can strike strong and heavy for summer at first sniff - definitely not heavy for winter - but once you apply it and wear it for the day, it smells delicious, warm, and sexy to me that I cannot stop smelling myself, even though I prefer more clean, fresh, soapy scents. It gets asked a lot by the people who like warm vanilla, but honestly, some people hate it. I used it everywhere, every time, and never felt unsuitable for any occasion. It is obvious that it gives beach, tanned skin, a tiny bikini, and a lovely Mediterranean dinner and all that vibes, but I also associate this perfume with autumn, dark academia, in the library, sipping your nice hot Irısh latte for the day, and being studious. Or is it just me?

I discovered this one too late. 2 months ago I saw a sponsored post about the Monoi products from YvesRocher and I got interested. Blind bought the whole collection. I checked the reviews here before ordering, and assumed i would like it. Well I love it ! The scent is unique. Sometimes I think I smell sunscreen lotion, other times vanilla and coconut. I got many compliments, people told me I smell like summer, beach and vacations. The performance is desperate. Weak projection and lasts 1-2 hours on skin. I tried layering it with the monoi dry oil, no difference. However I will definitely buy it again. I just can't get enough of the sweet scent. On clothes it definitely lingers much longer.

With this scent, Yves Rocher has created the smell of summer IMO! Yves Rocher did a masterpiece with this scent that brings me with each spray mentally under the palms and near the shore of a turquoise sea. Chemical indeed, but a very inspiring and pleasant combination. Definitely underrated. This and the complete set (shower gel and oil) are my must-haves every summer, and buying them always marks the beginning of the beautiful season!!

This is perfect for those who want a monoi/tiare perfume! Somehow smells lactonic (maybe of the vanila?) If you're sick of coconut in your summery tropical perfumes but still love a lactonic note, this is good! People do say that this has a sunscreen scent, I think referring to the Hawaii Tropical brand. I have the perfume and the sunscreen, they do smell similar except that this perfume is dominated by the monoi oil.

This is my go to summer perfume. A very light, sunscreen, summer in a bottle kind of scent. Perfect for the beach and a day time summer perfume. I find that it last longer in combination with the shower gel and monoï body milk. When you spray it on first it can smell a bit harsh, but when it dries down it's absolutely define. I love it!

This one here lasts all day, has a VERY strong scent and it’s one of my favorites. I don’t really care about using perfume during certain seasons but this one is a pure summer scent. Spraying it on makes hot days bearable, and just smells sexy honestly. I love it. It’s one of the strongest perfumes I’ve ever purchased.

I have had this for a while, it is great! You feel like you are transported to the a tropical island every time you use it! I also have the regular oil, and the spray dry oil. The regular oil is my fave of all of them. This is no longer available on the website and i only have half of a bottle left! Wtf YR? Why?

My favorite summer scent but unfortunately not long lasting. I might get a more long lasting dupe. There is body oil, body cream and body spray to make it last longer. But I don't want to buy more stuff just for the scent to last.

a buttery and sexy tiare flower scent. utterly delicious and sensual, it smells like being on a hot beach in the late afternoon and re-applying sunscreen or tanning oil. so good!

Not a review -- sorry!!! But I've noticed that this fragrance is listed as unisex, whereas the votes skew heavily female. The Yves Rocher website also lists it as a female fragrance. Can anybody see this being worn on a dude? Edit (01/15/2021): I went ahead and purchased this one (50% off for first-time customers, if I remember correctly), and my feelings are mixed. It's certainly inoffensive, though overwhelmingly synthetic and a bit piercing. A linear scent with moderate longevity and low projection. I was searching for a thick, sunscreen-y scent reminiscent of childhood summers. It satisfies that desire to an extent, though it lacks a necessary depth (which I should've braced for, having seen the actual notes). There's a generous waft of how I imagine the Yves Rocher factory smells. It's a distinctly European smell, as though not even an atom of the omnipotent American spirit has graced its sterile, burnished vessel. It's a lonely smell -- a very foreign smell. I will continue Monoï Vague d’été's use (it's not horrible or anything) while I scour this website for a more enriching fragrance, but I am unsettled by the dull groan of ancient Polynesians squirming in their sandy graves.

If you want to smell like monoï oil in a natural, non-perfumey way for an affordable price, this it it. CSP Aloha Tiaré feels too strong and similar to a toilet spray and Intense Tiaré is beautiful but smells perfumey (not in a bad way though) and also has a cold feeling to it. On the other hand, Yves Rocher's offering smell warmer and less "dressed-up", in a sense. Perfect addition to a day on the beach. I don't get coconut though, but I used to in the previous formulation.

Gayet güzel kokuyor ama kalıcılığı ve yayılımı düşük maalesef gün içinde tazelenmesi gerekiyor 🥲

I ran 3 bottles of this and have been using it for the last 3 years. I fell in love with it when I first tried it, and for some reason it started to smell a little too salty to me lately but I still like it! It definitely is very summery, smelling like sunscreen and ocean. Overall, I love the whole line of Monoi. Makes me immediately feel like I am by the beach tanning.
