Pur Desir de Pivoine

Described by the Book of Beauty as a "spicy creamy floral" Pur Desir de Pivoine (Peony) really is charming... My mother has two HUGE peony bushes that bloom every summer whether we do anything to them or not, and this really smells like those big bouncy blooms. Spicy, yes; but not "hot", more like pink peppercorns or corriander seed. This really is creamy and smooth. It has an underlying femininity to it. This is also one of the ones that got pushed out, as my collection grew. I held on to the hand soap and a small 30 ml EDT, just for its lovely scent and spicy floral feel. I just adore the vintage version of this: PIVOINE, in the milk-white flacon and the peony shaped topper. It has some more complexity, more notes and a bit deeper character than this. I put some of each on test strips, and had my Mom sniff them blind. To my surprise, she actually preferred the Pur Desir, while I loved the vintage SOOO much more. Go figure... Sillage: okay Longevity: decent Overall: 3/5 Creamy and spicy, I love! Pink florals, not so much. There are times when I almost wish I had held on to this, then I come to my senses (usually after sniffing Pour Monsieur or some other manly cologne with flowers in it, but not made entirely of them) and realise it is just silly to have perfume to have it! If you are not gonna wear it, pass it on! This is delightful on my friend from High School, but it wilted on me. Peonies are wonderful on the bush...not on MY skin.

I thought it was really cute that at the Xmas day they have at all of the schools my kids ever went to have-this year just past-so 2020- my son bought me this perfume at the gift table (people bring in gently used or new items to have the kids buy for two or three dollars) so I am just now kind of going through my stash and I can’t get over how spot on he got my type of perfume :) fresh / peony and LIGHT rose scents. This is beautiful!!

I love it, i feel so good when i use the lotion, it last so long on the skin, it smells like spring, like you`re in love... soft floral, a little fresh and very feminine... It gives you a positive tender mood, and its very discreet - I LOVE IT

Beautiful soliflore, perfect for spring and summer. It does not develop much for the 4-5 hours its stays on my skin, just gets a bit softer and sweeter. The scent of Pivoine is quite true to the actual peony flower, along with the stems and the morning dew. These last weeks they've been selling peonies everywhere in the streets, so I could compare :) I used to wear for many years the old Pivoine in the white bottle which was sadly discontinued. Pur Desir de Pivoine EDT does not posess Pivoine's complexity and staying power, but is still likeable, creamy and natural. I don't know why but I get a geranium note somewhere in there, sweet and green, and some rose. The body lotion is just gorgeous. Even without the EDT its scent lasts for hours. The shower gel I don't like as much as the lotion. Compared to L'Occitane peony range, I prefer this one, it's more vegetal, less perfumey if you know what I mean, plus it's way more affordable. I got the entire Pivoine set for 7 euros. Anyway, this one is also about to go, they're replacing it with the Rose fraiche scent which I haven't seen yet. EDIT: I've worn this EDT for a month every day and I must back the reviewers who said it changes. Mine has taken a rosey turn, it smells like rose water more than anithing else. Also its lasting power has dropped drastically. Perhaps it oxidizes too quickly when you start spraying it. Not bad, but completely away from the peony it used to be a month ago.

The heavenly scent of peonies in full bloom! YR manages again to create pleasant and very close to real nature fragrance. If you ever buried your face into bouquet of peonies to inhale their beautiful smell then you would know how Pur Desir de Pivoine smells like. It is garden full of peony bushes in full bloom. The scent is soliflore. I love it for the first 30 minutes but then the vibrancy of peony flowers subside and I am left with light but pleasant floral scent. I wish the luscious peony scent lasted a bit longer but I can always re-apply it to experience it again. Overall score 7.5/10. I definitely recommend if you are looking for peony soliflore. There are so many synthetic ones out there but this one is a great, more natural interpretation of this flower.
