Black Opium Eau de Toilette (2018)

I was looking for a warm, sweet scent for winter season and was almost ready to buy Bonbon by Victor & Rolf... but went through the store and tried this and wow, It's so great. You can tell it's the same family as edp, but this version is much softer, cozier and well-blended to my taste. While I wasn't a fan of an in-your-face coffee note in edp, this one has a nice coffee bean undertone, which makes the composition warm and silky. The gourmand sweet notes are like a frosting over fruity-florals. Very intimate somehow, the scent simply blends into the skin without the artificial dry down that used to be the main thing I disliked about the edp. To me, it has the perfect balance of sweetness, warmth and if cashmere had a scent, I would definitely say this would be the one. Stays on perfectly. I am glad I got myself a bottle. Definitely worth a try!

Obviously the sweetest Black Opium but not the worst at all. It smells like a Williams Pear, Columbian Coffee and Fresh Jasmine fragrance. Ideal for autumn/winter days even if it is more of a night time perfume to me. It’s a good effortless but awesome date night scent. But a date night with a person you’re dating since forever now (in a good way ofc) I do smell a bit of bergamot and lemon, as well as the Orange blossom but just a tad bit. I mainly smell the Pear, Coffee, Jasmine and Bergamot !! It is so sad that I finished the bottle last October, I miss it but the price isn’t appealing my credit card... Overall an 8/10

I love this fragrance! I meant to buy the EDP but mistakenly chose the EDT but I still love it! I’m a huge fan of bergamot so I’m not surprised I love this. I don’t usually like citrusy clean scents, so usually the citrus in this would deter me a bit as I would be afraid it would be cleaner and fresher than I prefer, but it’s sooo lovely! It’s still very much a warm and sweet scent but the citrus makes it a bit lighter and easier to wear year round. Still want the EDP and the Extreme versions, but this is a great option for a warmer day!

I really like the original Black Opium, but I think that I enjoy this version more; it keeps a lot of the same scent notes, but swaps the vanilla and pepper for citrus and pear. I think that this freshly-sweet twist does give the fragrance a sense of energizing 'glow' and fizzyness'. The floral notes seem airier too. Despite going from an edp down to a edt, the sillage and longevity are still impressive - still a last-all-day fragrance, that radiates a foot or so.

I'm wearing it right now, and I really like this... I expected not to like it at all, as I hate the original. I can still smell some of it in this, after all it's the EDT version of it. But I don't know... for me it's the lemon who saves it, it elevastes this perfume from the bitterness of the EDP.
