L’Homme Cologne Bleue

This fragrance smells so, so, so good. L’Homme Ultime is in my top 3 frags of all time, I was so sad they discontinued it and have tried many of the other L’Homme flankers to try to capture the feeling I get with Ultime. So far, this one comes the closest (that doesn’t even mean they are very similar, they just have certain elements that stick out that I love). This feels like a solid mix between L’Homme, La Nuit, and the more sweet/sour citrusy opening from Ultime. It’s light and airy and the aquatic notes are actually really well done to me, still keeping that magical, warm floral woody feeling from the others. That being said, I’ve honestly never, in my entire life, experienced such a disappointment when it comes to the performance of a fragrance. I’m not even a snob about longevity or projection, never have been, and I even dislike when people complain so often about “weak” fragrances on here, because honestly anything that gives me even just 3 hours of a personal scent bubble I don’t mind. I don’t wear it to be loud and obnoxious, I mostly wear it for my own enjoyment. This one has shockingly weak longevity and projection, and it hurts all the more because I truly adore the scent. It’s gone within half an hour, leaving such a faint skin scent I began to question whether I got a fake one (ordered from Ulta, it’s as legit as you can get... sadly). I have to jam my nose into my arm and try so hard to even detect anything. Just a very, very faint aroma of that beautiful L’Homme drydown. I am incredibly disappointed with this one. I’ve had better performance from an axe body spray, even from those cheap Adidas EdC sprays they sell at target last way longer than this. Shame on them, honestly.

I love this fragrance for pretty much the reason that others don’t like it: performance. I work in an environment with people who are scent sensitive, so projection is my enemy at work. I put this on after I shower and moisturize in the morning, and by the time I’m at work, it has nearly been relegated to a skin scent, and by the time I’m off I can confidently use a different perfume without the fear of the scents clashing. The scent itself is light, clean and generally respectable. It’s not something you wear to get attention; it should be worn for the sake of the person wearing it. I get about an hour of moderate projection followed by 5-6 hours of a pleasant bright and inoffensive skin scent (your mileage may vary). The only issue I take with it is the price. For me it’s too pricey for a blind buy (or at least it was when I first tried it in 2019). Fortunately Yves Saint Laurent is carried at a ton of department stores. I swung by a Macy’s and tried a spray, dug it, and then bought it from a discounter the next week. All in all, don’t go into this one thinking you’re going to get some sort of head turner that announces to everyone that you’ve arrived; this ain’t that. But I strongly recommend giving it a shot if you’re looking for something fresh and subtle. Your coworkers (or classmates, or fellow elevator riders, or anyone else that exists in a confined space with you) will be pretty pleased.

It smell soooooo good to me!!!. Like it does have a generic kind of feel like any other male fresh clean scents. The notes are easy to recognize. But there something about this combination that make me feel like so much is going on and yet so simple Mostly I think it because most male perfume have such strong woody or too spicy combination while I like sweet thing so when I smell this, it have everything that I like: Light but not to the point of light like Nautica Voyage, very strong citrus and hint of sweetness and spicy balance. It has a very strong projection and last pretty long if on clothes, on skin is depend. I use it on my bf and somehow I'm so altractive to him more than before. Like an elevation. When I smell it on him, it like I'm on a rooftop pool sipping a Citrusy, tangy fresh spice, sweet Lemon Citrus Apple soda cocktail, While looking at my boyfriend hot bods coming out of the fresh cool water pool with water running down I know it kinda exaggerating. But yeh. I like this perfume a lot 1000000/10. Highly recommended. Wanna make me go in bed with you. Use this. The price is kinda on the almost high but still a affordable kinda and can still use for a long while.

I love the opening freshness of this one, somehow reminding me of a much more watery Versace Blue Jeans, I definitely sense lavender, geranium and of course citrus, there's a cool marine vibe. Unfortunately the fragrance greatly lacks in the performance category. If YSL had released this as a large 200ml cologne but for the price of a 60ml it would've been fine imo. As it is it lacks value for money and can't stand up to good flankers such as l'Homme Ultime. Shame. At the right price from discounters I would consider this for summer, definitely isn't going to offend anyone and it smells very nice, if nothing too unique. Scent opening:9/10 scent in general:7/10 Performance:6/10 UPDATE 25/11/19 : I feel I was harsh about the longevity, for me it was as good if not better than La Nuit de l'Homme EDT meaning around 5 or 6 hours but as a soft scent (as with La Nuit), bear in mind however that this was on a cool autumn day, perhaps it would evaporate more quickly in the summer, I look forward to trying it out again some time.

This is a very nice hot weather scent, very safe for office use and overall a great YSL release. Not everyone is looking for some niche frag that will make half their place of work avoid them. These are the fragrances that are pleasant and safe for everyday use. All these people complaining about "nothing new", "just another generic release", "blah, blah, blah" are the reason that most places now you go-to, including most work places are "scent free". Mass appealing, "safe" fragrances are what most people need to wear for everyday use, the "niche" frags that are not mainstream and are out of the box scents are what people need for their own time, around family gathering etc, etc. So after ranting about all that, lol, this is imho good safe summer scent for everyday use, including work/office if they still allow frags to be worn. I give this a solid 8/10, it's a perfect scent when it's 35 celcius out.

Contrary to the douche bags who troll voted this a winter scent, it is not. It's in my opinion a good spring/summer scent. Real citrusy, but that is not a bad thing in my book. Still has faintest hint of l'homme dna. Haven't tested extensively, as I just got it, but so far it's enjoyable imo. It seems the Twitter trolls have made thier way to fragrantica. I find anything in last two to three years voted on here must not be taken seriously. I personally skip right to comments and look for reviews of people that actually have tried fragrance. As well, it most definitely does not smell like "nothing". So far I find it smells like l'homme with more citrusy opening.

I found that this suited my natural scent perfectly, and balances smokiness/pepper scents well. Got many compliments while wearing, some said it smelled like cucumber, others said it was a little "aftershave"-esque, which I agree with. Pairs great with cedarwood scents, and it is fairly light, which I don't mind as someone who is sensitive to strong odors. Smells like a businessman on the beach.

Smells great! Very fresh. Still has that original L'homme backbone, but with fresher aquatic notes added. However, as everyone else has said, the performance is abysmal. I get maybe 20-30mins of projection tops, then its gone. You will have to go heavy on the trigger on this one. Also, ladies LOVE this one. Overall, a solid cologne. Definitely not worth the price tag YSL is asking for this.

People on this site REALLY need to get themselves a life and stop voting on things they haven't even tried. I rarely use the 'don't you have something better to do with your time?' retort, but don't you? Jesus christ. Completely pathetic, really. I love most of Yves Saint Laurent fragrances and this one and bleu electrique are the ones I've worn most. Sad that it's discontinued. I've gone through a few bottles because you have to spray a lot it fades away quickly. It's a shame that no one reaches for it. Need to find something like it that lasts longer. Perfect for a hot summer day, the gym or work.

Smells very very good but lacks longevity and projection. This is like the D&G The One, but only for the summer. Lasts 3-5 hours. Projection 1 hour. My go to Summer date fragrance. Very very underrated. The rating is so low only because of the performance. Scent wise its a strong 9/10 for me.

I don't care about imaginative or smelling different, I care about smelling good and this is a gorgeous scent. It deserves better imho. Perfect for spring and summer, one of my favorite recent pickups and will be one of my most used as well.

Great uplifting scent. Though, I could see why people say this generic. I’m going to have to get me a bottle when it gets warmer again. Like all L’Homme flankers, they smell amazing but do not last.

This is just sad. Nobody's gotten their hands on this and yet the voting is already awfully screwed over. At least some of us will try to enjoy Fragrantica how it's meant to be enjoyed.

Best in class. Designed to be worn. Scent is at par or better than competition. Appreciation of scent is always subjective. Discontinued but will be revered, when all stock is gone.

I hate to say it, as this was my first designer cologne, but it just doesn’t hold up to my standards anymore. While I used to read these comments and be so upset when i saw how people were bashing it’s longevity, after testing Sauvage on my arm and seeing how long fragrances can remain so intense just really blew me away. All in all I do still really enjoy the way this one smells; you just can’t smell it enough. I ate an orange the other day and when I smelled my wrist where i had sprayed this fragrance maybe half an hour earlier, and the scent of the orange was all i could pick up. I do admit that this is a cheap fragrance in terms of longevity and creativity, but I’m still proud to have it in my collection as it is the reason I got so into fragrance in the first place. I wouldn’t recommend buying unless you really want an intimate smell that someone has to be right on top of you to notice.

Caught a deal Macy's. 2oz for 40 bucks. Figured what the hell, its YSL. Glad I didnt pay more. To be fair, it smells fine. About what you'd expect for a summer fresh scent. Aquatic/citrus.... and thats about where the note trail ends for me. Pretty bland, uninteresting and nothing you havent smelled before. Not to mention the performance/longevity is pretty terrible. This is fine for like coming home from the gym and wanting to freshen yourself up or something where you dont want to waste your good juice. Don't pay retail for this. If you're even considering doing that, set your sights on ADG Profondo.

it is a fresh, nice smell that does remind me of YSL l'homme libre in the dry down. Side by side they are different in the first 10 minutes, but in the dry down there is some comparison. It does not perform very good, but in the high heat that is not what I prefer. Around 1-2h close projection and a skin scent for around 5h. Buy it at an discounter and enjoy the smell of it in the summer. The l'homme and la nuit de l'homme line were never beast or projection monsters, so don't listen to all those ''reviewers''. (I've got the whole collection, old batches and new batches)

I sprayed it, I thoroughly enjoyed it, very nicely blended, clean, fresh, aquatic and genuinely uplifting, its an easy going fragrance that isn't going to intrude or tread on any toes. With any fragrance from the line, the big question is always about performance, it's not great, it doesn't really project much, and longevity on skin was limited, on my clothes however it lingered. Part of me can't help but wonder how long YSL will keep this line going for, I fear it won't be going on for too much longer. It's nice, but I'd opt for Nuit anyday, preferably an older bottle.

This is wonderful, the only problem is the longevity but over all this is a great scent for the summer, i would reccomend carrying this around in a vial or 5ml sprayer because you can reapply it, now on to the scent itself. An almost linear scent, it doesn't change too much on skin/clothes etc.. i like that it's a really fresh smell with the warm spicy kick, it gives it a really nice masculine tone. more aquatic notes pop in when it dries down. Although it has shorter longevity than most, this is a good scent to wear whenever in the summer, you can't go wrong with it.

Fresh and clean. Similar to the original, but lighter and sea-saltier. Mildly sweet aquatic with a powdery drydown. Normally sea salt notes wreck me with a headache, but this one I can handle as long as I don’t breath it in too deep and let the sillage do its thing.I would consider this a very mass appealing and safe scent that almost anyone around you will like. Though they might not be blown away since it’s mainly a clean/soapyish freshie. To my nose it is one of the better of that category. The main knock against it is how powdery the dry down is.

A lighter, more aquatic version of L’Homme. Pronounced cardamom that adds a nice mix to the opening which to me, reminds me of a cleaner , not as sweet (and better) Invictus. Very easy to wear during warm weather. Average performance for a L’Homme, maybe even slightly better, although it is a skin scent after 1 hour and a half or so. I believe this is either discontinued or in the process of being so. I can’t find it in any retailer or online discounter now. Recommend if you can find it for a good price and want a summer version of L’Homme.

Clean, fresh, men's showergel-type scent. I do detect citrus but it's not screechy or stinging. Smells like the blue Dawn dishwashing soap. That might sound awful but imagine on a hot humid day when you're sweaty and want to freshen up, this stuff will make you and your clothes smell CLEAN. It's a masculine scent that doesn't have any sweetness and it's so clean smelling it may lean into the unisex territory. Good blind buy for a generic yet high end men's fragrance. Makes a good gift for all ages.

A pleasant, ordinary, unimaginative modern fresh fragrance. Interchangeable with so many other designer/drug store fragrances. If there is a connection to the original, I didn't smell it. Perhaps the least imaginative of the litany of L'Homme flankers. Just another money grab from L'Oreal. Pass. Maybe it's time to put the L'Homme line out to pasture and come up with something new and original. The line lost the majority of its relevance after Nuit Frozen Cologne.

A pleasant generic fragrance for warm weather days. While it's nothing groundbreaking it certainly smells like a "quality", well blended aquatic perfume. Great for office as this is one of the safest most inoffensive scents out there. I too can detect the powdery note that other reviewers are mentioning but it blends well with the overall scent profile. Performance is definitely lacking though (4h on my skin with mild projection after the first hour).

Fresh summer scent, not typical aquatic, a bit powdery, less mineral, which is a bit downside to me. Very wearable, whether in the office or more casual occassions, sure not to offend anyone. Weak performance, so you need up to 10 sprays to make it last longer. Overall a safe bet, although nothing really outstanding in the category od "blue" fragnance. Good choice for those who start their adventure with fragnances.

I really like this perfume. One of the last I bought before becoming likely highly influenced by perfume YouTubers. Yes the projection is not great and it does not last super long but love the smell. Is easy to like, non intrusive, and therefore perfect for the office or when you are not that comfortable with having other people noticing your perfume. Mostly wear it in summer and spring.

I'll do a full review later, but I've already given it a couple of wearings. It's essentially YSL's take on Invictus Aqua. Throw in a little L'homme freshness and Eau Electrique sweetness and there you have it. If Invictus Aqua was a little too much for you, and you wanted something that smelled even MORE like a shower gel, look no further. Otherwise, it's probably a redundant purchase.

This is a super freshie scent that is bright, aquatic and inoffensive. This would smell good on pretty much any man, and could even be worn in a professional setting. It’s also a wee bit generic, and like others have said it does not have the best longevity. I like this scent, but there are better fragrances in the L’Homme line (this just happens to be the one my husband likes best).

To me the opening is like a mix between Diesel Only the Bravve and Versace Pour Homme, but turns into an aquatic or more fresh version of the original l'homme. The longetivity is alright compared to the original YSL l'homme, maybe even better. This fragrance is meant to be an inoffensive light fragrance, which is typical of french perfumery. This is the reason why I bought it.

1. This is an overall nice fresh aquatic smell. 2. This is a very safe fragrance 3. It sits close to the skin which is not a bad thing in my opinion. 4. The smell is an overall mix between the original L'homme and a aquatic pizzazz without that awful Invictus aqua smell. Results: 5 out of 10 Its just to basic and doesn't stand apart or on its own.

There’s really not much to write about. Unless you enjoy collecting L’Homme flankers or are into aquatic fragrances, I don’t see the urge to buy this perfume. Many other fragrances are similar, including affordable options like Playboy. It’s a light, summer scent. Clean but so safe ( boring and uninspiring). It smells...nice. That’s it.

This is really fresh! I love sea notes and that's mainly what you smell in this one along with the lavender, apple, patchouli and citrus. It's the perfect summer scent for any age guy, but it's pretty pricey. Also, it has decent longevity! Longevity- 7.2 Sillage- 6.8 Projection- 7.5 Performance- 7.6 Price- 7.2 Overall- 36.3 Grade- A

The opening smells 1:1 with YSL Y EDP, but it quickly changes within 10 minutes. The green apple sweetness fades away, but the freshness persists, leading to a soapier, more aquatic, and less juvenile version of YSL Y EDP. Only lasts a couple hours, but could smell it off someone across the room for the first hour. 6/10

This is nice... fresh aromatics with aquatic ‘airiness’ that gives decent projection with a summery hint of agrumes that would be a fragrance actually best suited to Springtime weather and early Autumn. TL;DR - nice and fresh but nothing more than ‘nice.’

I really enjoy this scent. It resembles the original L’Homme, but more aquatic, fresh, and sweet. The performance is average/slightly below average, but I still found good use for it during the warmer months.

This is a good fragrance. It's obviously a classic aquatic one, like ADG or Cool Water, but there's nothing wrong here. It's L'homme with a Marine note. I like it. A good fragrance for next summer. 7/10

Not special. typical fresh scent. I made a huge dent into the bottles because of how much I needed to spray. Still smells good and I usually do 7 sprays.

For the short version, it's YSL L'Homme but lighter, brighter, slightly sweeter, powdery, and more marine (slightly sea-salty). Fit for summertime, it only lasts a few hours and you might want to spray a bit heavier than normal with this (not as heavy as I did though, you'll see). Not impressive to those that have experienced the vast world of fragrance, but might be great for those that haven't and just need a simple, zingy Summer scent. But if you want a tale about a fragrance-less boy starting his journey, read on: This was my first fragrance ever, purchased back when I was unenlightened and “didn’t like cologne”. I never wore anything scented but deodorant. In 2020, my parents asked me if I wanted to go with them to Macy's and try out cologne while Dad would browse for a new bottle for himself (Polo Red was his choice, replacing his long-time signature Polo Black). I aloofly told her I'd go and give it a shot "I guess..." (I was an ass back then). At the men's cologne counter, the sales associate gave me many tester strips sprayed with a variety of scents. I shot them all down, one by one, and didn't even bother to remember their names, though they were probably the standard fare of Bleu De Chanel, Montblanc Legend, and Versace Dylan Blue, all of which were exactly what I would describe as smelling "like cologne" (again, I was an ass back then). But finally, one stood out to me, and it was this. L'Homme Cologne Bleue fit the bill for this scent skeptic; it was the lightest scent I had tried--the airiest, freshest, most inoffensive scent my nose had touched at the time. I was enamored, and I promptly had mom whip out her plastic infinite-money card. When we returned home, I unwrapped the box to find a suave cylindrical bottle, effervescent blue, fitted with a stunning, hefty hexagonal cap that snapped in and out of place with a satisfying tactile "thonk". The presentation was, as Keanu Reeves would proclaim, "breathtaking". I didn't know how to proceed so I played it by ear and sprayed up and down my arms, chest, and clothes. I can only assume I sprayed 15+ times. I know that sounds awful. I only imagine the first hour's sillage was akin to the blast radius of a nuclear warhead with a touch of grapefruit. I didn't know any better, and I still didn't know any better for the 6 months I wore that bottle. However, I received compliments from people around me, and it never *seemed* to be backhanded. It was so fresh and sparkling of a scent, everyone loved it. I even got a compliment from my best friend's girlfriend at the time. "You smell very nice 😊", she chirped to me in a voice bordering on flirtatious, right in front of him. I felt a little awkward about that. It kinda gave me weird vibes. Turns out she was fooling around with other dudes around that time (not me, you dingdong). Don't worry, my friend's in a better, healthier relationship now. Anyway, I bought one more bottle of it in 2021 before giving all fragrance a break for a year, and eventually coming back to fragrance with a new, revamped interest. But, I recently bought a decant of it to re-experience the memories. This time, it smelled the same...only less impressive. It was bright and sharp up top, semi-sparkly, but it didn't wow me anymore. I realized the body of the fragrance smelled like YSL's standard L'Homme (which I've come to find is pleasant, but not particularly compelling) but with a saltier, powdery aquatic tinge. The sharpness is no longer from ginger and spices, but instead from an larger assortment of sweet citruses. It's slightly fruitier with the apple and citrus, and the base isn't as heavy from tonka anymore--now it's softer, woodier, earthier. It has less of a lemon/pepper vibe to it than the original. Its performance was also very lackluster; the scent would disappear in a few hours and the projection was moderate for maybe 30 minutes before clinging to the skin. But this was spraying much more modestly than in the past--maybe 4-5 times. For a split second, I entertained the thought of using my old technique and going bonkers with the atomizer. I quickly brushed the thought away, as I didn't have much in my decant. I wouldn't have enjoyed that anyway. It was no longer treading new nasal ground for me, and I was able to finally see its flaws. In the realm of fresh Summertime scents, there are many better choices that smell better and last longer. I've smelled so many wonderful scents that this no longer fits the bill. But for someone that hates anything that smells "like cologne" and doesn't want to intrude too much, this may just be the perfect choice to jump-start a new outlook on fragrance. OK, I'll shut up now.

Today I'm heading over to the house of YSL to take a look at a discontinued L'Homme flanker: L'Homme Cologne Bleu. To be honest, the L'Homme line is one that was never really on my radar. I had heard of it plenty of times through people discussing the merits of the original L'Homme or its various flankers, but nothing about the DNA ever stood out to me as something that would particularly grab my attention. In fact, the only reason I have a decant of this is because I won it in a giveaway. Maybe my experience with this fragrance will end up shifting my attention towards the line. Let's get into it and find out. Opening: The opening is a harmonious blend of citrus, aquatic accords, and aromatics. The primary notes I discern are sea notes, grapefruit, lavender, and apple, with the sea notes and grapefruit being the most prominent. The sea notes are the first to hit my nose with an intensely fresh and oceanic aquatic accord, similar to what one might find in other aquatic fragrances like Invictus Aqua or Light Blue Eau Intense. However, this somehow feels smoother and more realistic without that strong, salty bite that sometimes accompanies the accord. The sea notes are followed in equal measure by the grapefruit, which provides an invigorating citrus note, joined by just a hint of the hallmark rindiness and bitterness that grapefruit is known for. The synergy between sea notes and grapefruit is a well-established success, and there is no exception here. Up next are the apple and lavender. The apple imparts a distinct fruitiness, similar in tone to the apple found in other YSL fragrances like Y EDP—it is sweet, juicy, and crisp without being overbearing. Lastly, the lavender lays a bed of soft, powdery aromatics to bring a sense of relaxed balance to an otherwise zesty and energizing opening. After about five to ten minutes, a bit of cardamom starts to creep in as well, with a touch of warm, slightly camphorous spice. Dry Down: The dry down continues to be defined by its citrus, aquatic, and aromatic character. The primary notes I get are still sea notes, grapefruit, lavender, and apple, but the strongest of these have now shifted to the lavender and apple. The lavender has risen to the top to provide a more prominent dose of the powdery aromatics from the opening. Likewise, the apple has grown in strength as well, providing a solid punch with its sweet and juicy fruitiness. This is followed by the sea notes and grapefruit. Both notes are still present in the dry down, just to a lesser degree than they were in the opening. The sea notes still provide that fresh and oceanic tone, and the grapefruit still works in tandem with its bright and zesty citrus accord, but they have stepped aside to allow the lavender and apple to truly shine. Performance: The initial projection within the first hour is robust and reaches out about six feet. Sillage mirrors that potency with an easily noticeable scent trail. After a few hours, the projection had diminished to about arm's length, and the scent trail was only lightly discernible. The fragrance became a skin scent shortly thereafter. When to Wear: As one might have guessed from the name, L'Homme Cologne Bleu is a spring/summer fragrance made for daytime wear. It has that fresh and oceanic vibe that makes it a perfect choice for casual situations, outdoor activities, or gym wear, but I would not select it for special or formal occasions, or for the office. Blind Buy: If you appreciate that Invictus Aqua/Light Blue type of DNA, L'Homme Cologne Bleu will probably be a safe blind buy for you. Just keep in mind that you'll likely need to reapply it at least once to get through a full workday. Final Verdict: L'Homme Cologne Bleu turned out pretty much exactly as I expected it would. It's a very mass-appealing, fresh, watery fragrance. It smells great, but it doesn't necessarily stand out from the crowd. The sea notes in this fragrance were a bit better than what I usually get from designer brands, but outside of that, it's a very standard aquatic fragrance. However, the performance was rather underwhelming and is ultimately what killed the experience for me. I know that I can get a similar aquatic experience from other fragrances that offer stronger longevity. For that reason, I will not be hunting down a bottle of this one. This fragrance smells exactly like it looks, light blue ish. It’s a lighter, soapy version of the original L’Homme EDT, almost like a shower gel interpretation of it. The opening is well blended, but it immediately dries down into that soapy, shower gel like vibe, like you just used an L’Homme branded body wash. It starts off fresh, but that fades quickly and settles into the sweet, familiar base of the original L’Homme EDT. There’s nothing wrong with this fragrance, it’s inoffensive, fresh, sweet, and pleasant. But the scent profile feels very outdated, just like the original. It’s something that would probably suit a kind, quiet older gentleman. If you’ve read my reviews, you know I always pay attention to how women react to what I wear. I wore this to the gym, hoping it would work as a gym scent. It’s okay on colder days, but too sweet for intense sessions on hot days. That said, one woman, late in her 30s, had a reaction that honestly made it seem like her ovulation cycle either sped up on the spot or resurrected from retirement. So yes, this may actually hit the right notes for some women. If you love the L’Homme DNA and want to smell like you just showered with L’Homme shower gel, this one is for you.

PROS: Fresh, noticeable, Drydown is amazing, skin scent. CONS: just a tiny tiny tiny almost unnoticeable bit of egg smell and it has a little bit definition and it's NOT a niche fragrance if you're wanting to be super interesting. I have a hard time rating aquatic fragrances bc I dont think I like them very much as they can sometimes give off an egg smell. I didn't like this fragrance the first time I smelled it but after I smelled it again after it dried down it was very pleasing and the egg smell I thought I was smelling completely went away thank God. Everyone who's mad in the comments who are saying that this is too boring etc, you know not every fragrance has to be niche. This isn't a boring fragrance because it actually DOES have definition to it and there isn't much you can do with aquatics. Aquatics aren't usually the crazy niche fragrances, they're just there to give balance to body odor in the hot summer heat. The Drydown is amazing because it's just a TAD sweet and powdery. Not noticeable but I would like to have my face up against my bf's chest while wearing this in the summer. This would also go well with sunscreen. Both smells would compliment each other. 9/10 !! I'm impressed. IM A GIRL BTW!

Not much to say about this one. Clean and fresh with absolutely NO performance whatsoever. Luckily I didn’t pay a nickel for it. I work for Enterprise Rent a Car and found it and the customer didn’t come back looking for it. If you’re looking for a clean, just took a shower scent to spray before bed this is it. Perfect for just and ONLY this reason. Or if you work in an office with people who are offended or sensitive to scents maybe. Don’t expect to get any compliments though. Not because it smells bad, but because you won’t be smelled unless you have someone kissing your neck. They probably won’t even smell it giving a hug it sits that close to the skin. If you can get it for less than $30 it’s worth it just to have in your collection of YSL scents. (I’ll probably use it as a car freshener and just to have an emergency scent and not care if it goes bad in my hot car)

This was a good effort to create a fresher, cleaner, brighter version of the Original L'homme. However, it's not a must have.In the air its fresh and clean. On skin, the blend here carries a slightly different vibe. In the air it smells like a shower fresh aquatic, on skin the cardamom and thyme oils kind of clash with the aquatic side of this fragrance and it gives off that pickled ginger smell that YSL Y EDT has. This one was the first attempt at YSL Bleu Electrique. B.E. was the better, fresher, smoother version of Cologne Bleu which was discontinued soon after its launch because of the strong resemblance to the original LNDL and Cologne Bleu. Someone at YSL finally said "thats enough with the damn cardamom bombs".
