Magnificent Gold

YSL Magnificent Gold is so beautiful. It is creamy, warm, soft, elegant, oriental, complement getter. excellent choice for people who dont like loud oud in the fragrance. White oud is light, and vanilla is well blended with other ingredients. longevity on the skin is good 6 - 8 hours. The projection is soft but detectable from 1 - 2 feets in the first 1.5 hour before it become skin fragrance. It could be notified better while moving as the silage (trail of smell behind one's who wear fragrance) of the fragrance could be detected 1 - 1.5 meters away.Some people couldn't smell it and the reason could be the nature of the ingredients as white oud and musk are not detectable to all people. For me i have 75 ml bottle and i can still smell it on my hand after 10 hours. Don't judge it quickly, just be patient and ask people around you and you will be happy when they say they can smell you. My evaluation for this masterpiece: Smell: 10/10 Projection: 7 / 10 silage: 7.5 / 10 Complement: 9/10 Uniqueness:9/10 package: 9/10 quality: 9/10 price: 8/10 versatility: 8/10. Could be blind purchase: yes, but better to test it before. Overall: 9/10

The name really suits this perfume, especially the bottle. This is a beautiful vanilla oud scent, perfect for a cold winter day. It smells like a delicious vanilla ice cream but not overly sweet. The saffron and the pink pepper makes it slightly spicy. This is a very soft scent which I normally don't associate with oud. I wish more oud perfumes contained white oud, thus making them more wearable. This is also the most wearable and safe to blind buy from the Le Vestiaire des Parfums Oriental Collection. Personally I do not consider this a night time or date night type of fragrance. It feels very warm and cozy but a little airy at the same time. Unfortunately it sits very close to the skin, so if you are looking for a beast mode fragrance this is not the right choice. Longevity on skin is not too good, so I usually spray it on clothes and it lasts about 3 to 4 hrs which is not good at this price point. Overall, I love this fragrance so much that I am willing to overlook the sillage and logevity issue 🥰😘.

This was love at first “sniff”🥰 I absolutely love the way how Magnificent Gold is well blended and it’s not like the other typical vanilla perfumes which are over sweet or headachy, it’s sweet but not too much and creamy thanks to sandalwood and has very nice touch of the white oud (safe for people who don’t like oud)😉 and works perfectly with my skin. I’m vanilla perfume lover but this one is for me the top because it’s just different than the other vanillas, simply gentle way ❤️ Long lasting on skin and stay on my clothes for few days, in my opinion it worth the money but I can’t say it’s safe blind buy unless your skin works perfectly with sandalwood and you love vanilla with little touch of spiciness. Even though people say it’s not overpowering, when I did try it first time, went shopping, lady who was showing me handbags couldn’t stop sniffing around me untill she said: I smell soo beautiful vanilla from you, what is it ?😊😊😇 Definitely go and try it on ❤️

This fragrance is a love for me. Quite simple but still quite complex. It is my favourite in this YSL's recent premium line. This is not oriental, arabic or too oud-ish. It is rightfully quite modern and western iteration of arabic perfumery. The top is kinda effervescent and playful to me, might be because of spices and pepper. I would say it is bright in the top but not in fresh aquatic way. It gradually becomes more woodiee and smoother as it dries down. I can smell creamy sandalwood and vanilla. From mod onwards it starts getting into woody creamy powdeey zone. This part is absolutely sexy, posh and exquisite. Very subtle but extremely enjoyable. This scent could be really versatile. For its top it can be used in formal scenarios and for its mid and base this can be perfect for dates and intimate moments. I can't comment on performance at the moment I have to give it few more wearings but excellent first impression. 9 out of 10 easily...

Magnificent Gold opens with a bright sweetness coming from the saffron and vanilla, with pink pepper giving it a sharp kick. It quickly develops a heart of creamy sandalwood and a deliciously thick, gourmand vanilla note. In the dry down you’re gently greeted with an overload of sweet vanilla and sandalwood, with a musky undertone of white oud giving the fragrance this overall bitterness and maturity. As others have said it has a very ‘fluffy’ scent profile which is very soft around the edges, and in terms of performance this projects massively and lasts all day with ease. Magnificent Gold is massively underrated - a must have for any vanilla fanatic. I can imagine it can come off as too sickly sweet to some, and yet weirdly it’s one of my most complimented fragrances. It’s a shame to see it being discontinued as it truly is a hidden gem, perfect for a warm and cosy winters day.

The PERFECT vanilla! I have been searching for a good vanilla fragrance for a while. I was looking for something that was not gourmand or juvenile. Magnificent Gold is vanilla for grown ups and in my opinion you can definitely smell that it’s exclusive. To me, this smells like a powdery and dry, woody vanilla. It is not overly sweet or too strong. I honestly don’t get any spices and only a whiff of soft oud when applying the fragrance, other than that it stays quite linear. Beautiful scent that works for most occasions. Get it while you can.. rumor has it that all of the gold oriental bottles are getting discontinued.

Absolutely beautiful. This is a wonderful perfume, that's about it. I'm not breaking it down it's a kind of gentile, lightly spiced, powdery musk, sandalwood accord perhaps rose and iris? Certainly vanilla but not too sweet and brought together in such a way where it doesn't matter, it's more than the some of it's parts. Is it distinctive? Not really. Is it worth the money? Sort of...I mean you're not going to get much better but sure it's expensive. In fact this entire line are really good from YSL and sort fly quite stealthily under the radar as apposed to Dior or Chanel exclusive lines. I enjoyed this anyway.

Very pleasant fragrance, maybe the less unique from the entire collection. Well blended very smooth with a huge longevity although sillage is very short (maybe an hour). Nothing special more like an every day scent. I like it but I don't love it. If you're not used to strong scents this might be a good winter perfume for me I rather use it on warmer weather and save more potent scents for the winter. By the way try to get it on sales I bought it for £75 instead of £245 on House of Frasier if you're in the UK

Warm, spicy, rich woods with enough vanilla to stop it being masculine and keep it unisex. No skanky oud. No pineapple. Very strong - 2 sprays on my wrist is too much to smell my skin directly. Got my bottle from a huge high street retailer and it’s been macerating for a year or more. If you don’t like peppery scents give this a miss, the pepper dominates for ages and you can notice it if you’re not a fan. Can’t believe this isn’t more popular though as it’s a pretty great woody Amber.

One of the most beautiful, sensual fragrances ever. Carries hints of Givenchy Pi and Guerlain’s Cuir Beluga and elevates them to a warmer, creamier level with delicate hints of sensual musks. Feels like a Schubert symphony. Such a shame it’s been discontinued. Happy to have back up bottles but why, why the brand doesn’t carry a limited amount of bottles for masterpieces like Caftan and Magnificent Gold for us. Please bring them back 🥹

Oh my goodness, this is gorgeous! This is for the sexy ladies! It’s sensual, warm & cozy yet sexy for a date night. The notes are blended very smoothly, the Oud is giving it that ouphhh without being overpowering while the sandalwood and vanilla gives it that creamy essence and the saffron and pink pepper gives that sexy warmth. I’m obsessed 😍

Magnificient Gold by Saint Laurent. A creamy vanilla bomb in the air. A woody vanilla scent on my skin with more santal than white oud. They are absolutely not the same, but I got some Spicebomb extreme vibes here. Magnificient Gold is brighter and performs better. Scent : 8/10, a nice night time fragrance. Performance and sillage : 9/10

A sexy oud fragrance that I could wear at night anytime of the year. A creamy vanilla oud scent when you want a little sweetness but not headache inducing. Longevity is great with 6 hrs+. I prefer to wear this a little close to the skin rather than a strong projection. Highly recommended!!

A tad less powerful and vanillic than Babycat, Magnificent Gold is a true beauty. Here, the Oud replaces the leather (found in Babycat) and it gives wealth and class like no other fragrance can. A true masterpiece that I am happy to own 🖤

This is stunning and so underrated. To me this smells like if you combined SPiritueuse Double Vanille with Cuir Beluga. A sophisticated grown up vanilla scent. 9.5/10

Love it! Burnt vanilla with sandalwood is what I get! Gives off warm, inviting but unapproachable vibes! Longevity is great.
