Mon Paris Lumière

Scent is definitely subjective! While others might not find it extraordinary, my eyes rolled to the back of my head and I went a little wild spraying it so I could be IN my scent bubble! 😍 Skin? Sprayed. Clothes? Sprayed. Robe and blanket? Sprayed! Suffice to say that I LOVE this fragrance and I absolutely recommend trying it if you haven't! 💕 Oh, and this was a buy without trying for me. But I do enjoy the OG Mon Paris and Intensement is next on my list. I will add that my s/o does not like patchouli and despite me finding this sexy to wear and very date night appropriate, I don't wear this to date night with him. I really like this. I bought this as a result of a conversation and whim, as I really liked the bottle design and figured that, even as a dude, why not have a perfume? I got it on sale, and figured worst case I could always keep it handy for a party. While the top notes end up smelling very feminine, The skin smell is actually fairly unisex, with a smell that's really fresh and pleasing that any dude with a decent fashion sense could reasonably pull off. I think the only real downside is that the longevity is just okay. I'm not very well versed in perfumes, but I think this product, at least in my case, is far better than I thought it would be.

I tested it randomly in a store and fell in love. Mon Paris the original never quite did it for me, I find it a bit cloying. But this is bright, juicy, sparkling, mesmerizing,just wonderfull . Quite strong, too. The only thing I am sad about is that the biggest size offered is 50ml 😢.

Smells exactly like the original Mon Paris which I love so much! I can’t tell any difference between the two. Not sure how anyone can. Maybe my sense of smell is not sophisticated enough Maybe it just doesn’t last as long but that’s it.

Mon Paris was enjoyable to me but was curious about this one with the aquatic note. I like it but don’t love it. The opening notes blend together into a generic department store smell, and very sweet, more like a Meyer lemon or bergamot than a sharp citrus. I could see this being cloying for some people. I do like this a lot more on the dry down where the white florals start to bloom. Easy, inoffensive reach. Pleasant, but not inspiring. edit: I’m updating the review to add that this one did well for me in heat. Still sweet but in a flirty and glittery way. I wore this to the office on a warm day and went to yoga. By the time I was done with yoga this sparkling sweetness of white floral and lemon top notes were really projecting, grounding through to the lingering chypre base closer to the skin. Toeing the line of too sweet but never crossing it. I really think this one needs heat to show its true colors.

I tested this on skin at Sephora today (our first day of high 80s in NYC this year) and found it to be a mass-appealing sweet and floral. I was surprised to discover that I also liked it, as I generally feel like the scents I like aren't mass-appealing. For the first 30-45 min it had a "soft feel", but was actually projecting rather strongly beyond arm's length. After an hour, it simplified to more of a soft floral musk and there's something artificial that reminds me of being in a warm, closed, parked car as a teen, a little tipsy with friends, and beginning to get a headache.... Something metallic mixed with the sweet? Cannot say more at this point, but I might explore further at a later date. Don't think it's ideal for very warm weather. Maybe more of a rainy spring day scent. On my "like" scale of 1<5, this is a 2.

I got this in the mail today. First impression leaves me with a pretty rose patchouli. Not too sweet, not dirty at all. It claims to be aquatic, but doesn't burn my nose like Olympea Acqua nor does it feel minty/mentholated. Just a nice floral with the DNA of Mon Paris. Tamer. Smoother. I don't have the original Mon Paris but I have Intensement. This is a pretty fresh take on Intensement without overly fruity or syrupy undertones IMO. And the bottle is just gorgeous and delicate. This could probably make a gorgeous spring or day office fragrance. I'm not sure if it is "me" yet, but it is quality. ETA: Final thought = this is a more "wearable" Mon Paris flanker for me :)

Rose and lemon with musk right off the bat! It starts off a bit generic (a classic expensive "perfume"), but that quickly evolves into a more aquatic scent (which I assume is the lotus?) that makes me think of rose tea with a squeeze of lemon~ It's a great spring and summer scent, I would personally say its too fresh for cold weather? But it reminds me of sipping iced tea on a summer day and I love that ♡ Others in the Mon Paris line weren't for me, but I do tend to do better with eau fraiche and other light formulations.. I'm happy to have a flanker that works for me! I should definitely be reaching for this more than I do~

I have tried very hard to love this, but the affair is over. My heart belongs to the Intensément version. And I think I need to try the original edp as well. I think the aquatic accord of lotus, mixed with other heavy florals and patchouli is just too much for me. I find this cloying and it doesn’t cheer me up. It’s still a very good perfume for the right person. Don’t be fooled by the fact that it’s an edt, it’s very strong. Projection is within an arms length. On my skin stayed for about 4-5 hours. On clothing for longer. Because of patchouli base can be suitable for all seasons.

didnt like the original mon paris it felt like plastic strawberry with a hint of patchouli . whereas this one, steps up more aquatic floral . for an EDT is has good lasting power in my opinion lotus and rose seem neck and neck throughout the wear . the top seems more fruity than just the lemon, more like a pear+plum opening . the datura, its sweet and present . id describe it as an aquatic chypre, has the patchouli musky base with floral dressing on top . smells very french . i could wear this patchouli in high heat and not be bothered . many compliments with this

The travel size bottle and packaging is gorgeous. I wish I could keep it just for the packaging. However, I'm not a big fan of this fragrance, because of a sharp, slightly metallic note in the opening that lasts for over 1h. That note is very hard for me to tolerate. I've tried to wear it a few times but I wasn't convinced. Dry down is decent. Overall, it's a light floral aquatic, good for work in spring or summer.

This was 1000% impulse buy off Nordstrom rack. Scored a 3oz bottle v discounted, so I thought why not. I usually wear “luxury” lines bc I am prone to migraines w/most scents: sellier, d’arcy, Tom form hombre leather....i like really unique scents. While I don’t adore this, I also think it’s good to have in my collection for a day to day scent. It’s musk heavy on me, and wears well in heat.

This perfume stays on my skin for 3-4 hours before turning to skin scent. While this is mainly a spring or summer perfume, I've decided to use it this winter. I feel like this perfume also works well in cold weather especially if you are just spending most of the time indoors. It's light and has just the right amount of sweetness to it.

This is lush! A sparkling, effervescent less sweet version of the original (which I used to own and love). It lasts really long for an EDT and creates a lovely scent bubble. I’ve had it on for 6+ hrs. Perfect for summer. 10/10 — would recommend.

This isn't very sweet and the patchouli is dialed back. It's a fresh floral that's easy to wear. Light, feminine, and adorable.

Bright, fresh, sweet, fruity floral, sexy musk perfume... The only Mon Paris I can tolerate

I love the original Mon Paris but I prefer this version! This was one of my first real perfume purchases and I've finally finished the bottle this morning 3 This version is more fruity and sparkly in my opinion, whereas the original is more powdery and floral. This is your standard designer frag. You definitely get the lemon in the opening, providing some brightness, but the perfume quickly dries down to that turkish rose and musk. I definitely get some jasmine in the background, but the rose is most prominent. There's definitely some aquatic feel to this fragrance but it's very understated, which is why the lotus note makes sense. I honestly didn't know lotus was in here until I looked! It's very subtle though. The bottle is obviously stunning, and the sileage and projection are pretty good for designer. This lasts for a solid 4 to 6 hours on my skin. Overall, if you're looking for a reliable, standard designer fruity-floral - Mon Paris Lumiere is a great option. This is entirely inoffensive, pretty, and a bit sexy. You can't go wrong with it. Rating: 7/10

Mehhh it smells bright and nice but it’s kind of a let down, I feel like I have smelled this a million times over in other lines of flankers. You can get the same thing from Victorias Secret or the cheapy shelf in Tj Maxx, way overpriced fo what it is unless you’re a fan or collector of the Mon Paris line.

Light, bright, & summery feel to this one. Nice balance of aquatic & ozonic. I think it would perform well in extreme heat. It's not a "must have" but it's pretty pleasant... less sweet & more tame than some others in this line.

This starts off as a fresh floral, then dries down to a sweet floral. You have to like floral scents to like this perfume. Something comes off sharp on my skin. Nice daytime fragrance for spring and summer.

I like the ozonic accord, but something is sticking out in this like someone playing the wrong note in a piece of music. Something in here doesn’t quite fit. Had to return.

Pleasant, but nothing unique about the scent and fades within an hour. 4.5/10

Based off the notes, I thought I was going to like this. I really wanted to like this, actually. I smelled it 4 separate times, at different stores, because i couldn't trust my nose every time - I always smell a plethora of different perfumes when I go into stores, making it difficult to distinguish which scent is which. It did seem to have a weird note in the opening that was almost sour, but I couldn't really tell, so I kept giving it additional chances, because I felt like i *had* to like it based off the scent profile. I went into Sephora yesterday, thinking I was going to purchase it, solely because I enjoyed the dry down it left on my coat. I decided to spray some on my hand one more time, just to make sure I really liked it. OMG. Hard pass. I'm SO glad I tried it out on my skin again when my nose was less overwhelmed with other scents. It makes me want to pass out. The opening smell. It smells almost metallic, iron-like, as if I'm smelling blood or something. Makes me sick. I would highly recommend trying this one before buying, for this reason. I could never get past that. :( Blegh!

This doesn't work for me. Generic watery florals and sharp lemon. Pass for me! I'll keep my sample and try it again in a couple of months, but I don't anticipate that I will change my mind. I see that Chanel Chance Eau Tendre EDT is listed as a similar fragrance. If I squint and turn sideways I could ~maybe~ see how it might be a little bit similar, but still this doesn't come close to Chance Eau Tendre! edit: 7 hours after applying this fragrance. I can smell a really nice musk on my wrists. It's sweet and comforting. But, not good enough to make up for how it smells for the first 6 hours or so.

Another blind buy for me, nothing special very weak. It’s a bed scent that fades within an hour. By the way YSL beauty has decreased their game. Bought 4 perfumes not one sample added and packaging was horrible.

This Datura flower is EVERYTHING!!! OMG, where have you been all my life, Lol. I need more scents with her She is sweeeeet & gorgeous. I don't believe I have anything with the Datura flower but OMG is she Summer sweet & GORGEOUS! There is something thick, rich, & a bit syrupy or boozy. I am thinking it is the Rose Absolute. IDK but I need this part of the scent in an oil form because it makes my eyes roll back, Lol. The Patchouli is sooooo dainty & feminine. If you don't do Patchouli on the regular I would suggest being opened to this gal. The Jasmine brings a dallop of white floral to my nose. It really balances the thickness of the absolute & sweetness of the Datura flower. Did I say how gorgeous that flower is. #WhoKnew?! There is something very sky like & airy but still a bit warm. So we have a boozy syrupy Rose but with this fresh air type of breeze to it. The Musk is soft but semi dense like a puff cloud... but its a bit translucent & floats higher in the sky. The Patchouli is dainty, clean, & feminine. The Musk with the Patchouli I think adds some density to it. But... it is soooo delicate that it still has this fresh Summer air vibe. Is that the Lotus maybe. Its an airy type of refreshing to me not aquatic, if that makes sense. Like a fresh bright blue sky, with the sun out, sporadic white translucent clouds floating around, & a nice wind breeze. I can see this glowing off of the skin on a warm Summer day I definitely think this is a warm weather fragrance. The way that Musk hovers & the sweetness of the Datura flower floats... Oh she is Summer lunches, outdoor shopping, day dates, pool side cabanas. etc etc etc. Yea, she is as gorgeous as a dainty gold chain, sitting on top of sunkissed skin, reflecting light from the sun rays. Flirty & Luxurious I think I shall classify her.

My Ulta catalog came today, and as always a ton of paper scent samples came flying out. I took the time to smell all of them and the one that caught my eye was the YSL Mon Paris Lumiere. I have not had much luck with the YSL Mon Paris line they are very cloying on me but this one is STUNNING. I can only hope it would perform on my skin as it does on the paper sampler. This is a gorgeous sophisticated scent. Gives me a subtle reminder of Christian Dior Jadore Eau Lumiere without the woody notes. This is a grown up modern - mature floral without powdery notes. Almost a fresh floral but not an aquatic floral if that makes sense. I do not see this available on the Ulta website but I can say it's on the top of my list to get my hands on.

I can see why so many people think that this fragrance smells just like the original Mon Paris, because at first I too thought they were exactly the same. However, I think this depends on how powerful certain notes(s) perform on your skin, because for me this was a massive improvement compared to the OG. While the OG mostly smells good on me, there is a point at which it begins to smell like pennies on me (no joke), and I suspect that it is because of the patchouli/moss combo. This fragrance, on the other hand, doesn't have oak moss, so performs much better on my skin than the OG.

I’m very relieved to say this was a safe blind buy, I love the original Mon Paris, so I thought I’d take a chance when I saw it advertised on the ysl site. I find it perfect for Florida weather, which feels like summer currently. It light, sweet, and has a certain addictive scent in it that kept me wondering what is that amazing smell? It was the dry down of this, the musk with patchouli. I appreciate the toned down sweetness of this one compared to the original.

I love light aquatic florals, but this one is disappointment, there is something heavy in the base ( guess Durata) mix with Patchouli just doesn’t work with my chemistry.

This looks simple and unique compared to the other Mon Paris'. I wonder if it's out in stores yet
