Opium Vapeurs de Parfum

Opium Vapeurs is a gorgeous, ladylike , heavenly perfume. I have now used up my 125ml bottle and I will be buying again come spring 2015 ready for the summer months. This scent smells like bottled summer , sunshine , carefree happy days on the beach. Yes theres lots of perfumes in that category , but this one exudes such a classy grown up vibe , it immediately stands apart from the glut of sickly sweet "summer" scents. It is floral , warm , fresh and uplifting and just one of those scents that gives me a very happy and relaxed feeling. Love love love this stuff !! I've worn this almost every day through the summer (now gone as is my precious Opium juice). I sprayed some on from the tester in Boots the other day and I was taken back to my summer beach holiday , lazy days sunbathing and humid heady nights out drinking cocktails , the whopping heavy 125ml bottle accompanied me everywhere on that hol , as I enjoy the scent so much. . On the subject of longevity , I was impressed how well this scent lasts on the skin and clothes , after all it is a "light" version. I thought it lasted very well. I only needed to top it up once while out and about , and if it had not of been so hot and humid , I wouldnt of needed to reapply at all. As with all my fave perfumes that pass my personal "tests" of smell/longevity/compliment getters , Opium Vapeurs garnered me many compliments from both sexes. Many young ladies who complimented me were surprised that this very modern , fresh but warm scent was anything to do with "original opium" , ( which much of the younger mainstream perfume wearers do not like). Hopefully some of those young ladies will go and purchase it and ( i hope) that Opium Vapeurs will live on and not suffer the dreaded "discontinuation". Ideally this scent is suited to spring /summer , but Id like to see how it reacts on my skin in the cold English winter too. Im in 2 minds whether to buy a new btl now , or do without until next year , as I am very short on perfume ATM and need to get some new winter scents for the cold months ahead ( Hello Poison wearing weather). Id say to all to give this perfume a try/test , no matter if you are a lover or hater of the original "Opium" , as this scent is a distant relation only , completley different...Not one of those flankers thats "samey" or too close to the original. Nope....OV stands alone as a great scent. PS - I was lucky to get the 125ml bottle from my fave local perfume bargain shop. Testers that come in a plain BnW box. It only cost me £35. However this stuff is THAT good IMO , that Id be happy to pay the full price next time if I have to. Fingers crossed i can get another bargain btll , as I need this scent for next summer!

If Jean Paul Gaultier and Coco Mademoiselle ever got together, this would be their love child. Boasting the same heady florals and vanilla, but like a rebellious teenager, she's brooding with her spicy dry down and sexy incense base. I usually prefer my florals with powder or musk in the final phase and tend to steer clear of Vanilla, if it's overdone, it works against me - too cloying on my skin. Despite sporting quite a few heavy notes in it's repertoire, Vapeurs has a smack of freshness that I adore, nothing is overdone here. No specific note is dominant, they all work together in perfect harmony. I DO find that it is a little remiscent of the original on my skin, but it's not as demanding & heavy - it's a warm, soft uplifting spice that is very sensual and alluring, with the addition of the white flowers and citrus. Lasting power very reasonable for an EDT. I'm not judgemental with the whole EDP's outlast EDT's. I believe every perfume works differently on every person and that what lasts on some, may dissipate on others. Take JPG Classique EDT for example - it's a silage BOMB!!! I think it's the incense that helps maintain the longevity. I bask it's glory from morning till evening, getting delightful little whiffs of it all day long, as I move through my busy day. Unlike some reviewers, I LOVE that it doesn't smell exactly like the original Opium, I could never quite pull that off, as much as I loved it on other women. I don't understand the need for people to want it to be like the original, we don't need another! Original is sombre, vampy and in your face.Vapeurs is what it is - Opiums flirty, vivacious, but refined little sister. It is reminiscent of other scents on the market, yes - but it does have it's own identity and appeal. I realised I was smitten when, every time I walked past this scent in the store, I would spray myself with it and for the rest of the day and night felt so beautiful. That is exactly how I want to feel when I wear my perfume, and this one loves me back. I'm declaring my undying affection for this beauty, she's won my heart - I feel a signature scent coming on. Thank you YSL for a gorgeous Floriental and a bottle design that steals the show as she adorns my dresser - Winner!!

Win,win,win!!!! Thanks to all the great reviews by my fellow Fragranticans I would call this one of my most successful blind buys ever! I LOVE this.... Yves Saint Laurent Opium Vapeurs was instant comfort for me. Like meeting up with a old friend you haven't seen in ages, but within minutes it's like you were never seperated. YSLOV slipped into my life just like that. Within minutes of spraying it I was just perfectly comfortable with this perfume. Nothing edgy or sharp to make me cautious, I let my guard down and any reservations I may have had about YSLOV just flew out the window. I just let her slip into my life like a long lost, dear friend. I adore the Orange Flower and sweet Sambac Jasmine that I first recognize after applying. The perfect sprinkle of Pepper gives her a a noticeable,spicy depth while the Mandarin gives YSLOV the perfect touch of uplifting zest. The incense is perfectly done, it does not overpower but does add a bit of mystery,dimension and allure. The resins and Amber are masterfully mixed and ground YSLOV giving her a very earthy, natural punctuation. I find everything about YSLOV just EASY if that makes sense. YSLOV slipped right in easily to my life, it's easy to wear and very easy to fall in love with. Speaking of love...the bottle is beautiful, the color of the perfume is beautiful and thus far my entire experience with YSLOV has been beautiful which I love. This perfume is not limited to a season in my opinion and will wear well all year. I think it is perfect for daytime use and exquisite for evenings. Although subtle or intimate in its nature, YSLOV packs a bit of a punch without knocking you out. The notes in YSLOV are finely woven, it is a Sublime and Ethereal fragrance. YSLOV is my new best friend, who wears like a long lost, and now reunited dear friend. Perfect throw, as I get to enjoy this one, but not at all intrusive to others. Sillage is better than average. Like I said above, Easy is a description that just fits this sexy, gorgeous perfume.

Your nose doesn't have time to react in the opening of Opium Vapeurs de Parfum. Initially, there is a strong hit of the drydown from Spellbound Estee Lauder, huge spicy floral carnation and sweet peach. And there's more going on besides the spicy floral aspect. Incensey, balsamic character, the patchouli is wonderful in here, not heavy, it co-operates with the rest of incense notes: benzoin and amber very harmoniously, and a lot of florals: jasmine, orange blossom an idea of mimosa and carnation. All under the veil of incense. It's very sensual and enchanting, with a vintage nod, well balanced, never headache inducing. Deep and satisfying. It's a pleasure to smell and get your dose; at least that's what I had been doing the day I wore it. It lingers very well on the skin and better on clothes and hair. It won't offend anyone around you. It's the spring in Easter time, it's the scent of the orthodox church in Easter; Coco Noir almost had it, unfortunately it was more on the baroque side. OVDP is the church incense and the orange blossom blooming combination that I find very addictive. Once I finish Classique, that is right now my orange blossom perfume rotating in my collection OVDP will take its place. And finally, don't compare OVDP with its predecessor Opium 1978 or with Opium 2009 or any other Opium, because it stands alone, it doesn't and it shouldn't smell like the initial Opium, that's not its purpose. I "understand" the general complain of the Opium 1978 fans, but this isn't the reason to dismiss all Opium flankers. Keep asking YSL to bring back your original Opium. OVDP has nothing to do with your dissapointment.

I just received a full bottle of this today in a trade, and, man is this a quality fragrance! I'd sampled the original Opium several months back and I didn't like it at all. I happened to see this on someone else's wants a little while ago and thought it sounded like a better version - lighter, fresher, not so in-your-face and nose and throat. Checked out some prices and found that it was NOT cheap! I couldn't risk blind-buying it. Anywho, I sprayed one spray on my wrist / arm about 3.5 hours ago, it was around 72 in San Diego today, 75 in my house. Wasn't exactly sure I liked it, but could smell something in there that I dug... I fell asleep, woke up and a whiff hit my nose, I sniffed my arm in my haze and said 'Mmmm, incense!?' I have NEVER liked incense perfumes, but I think the orange blossom and pepper / nutmeg / vanilla mix here really work sooo great together! It's a strong like right now, and like a lot of other reviews mentioned, for an EDT, the longevity here seems to be way above average. I can tell if I spray maybe just twice more in a full wear, once to the clothes and once on the other arm, I'd be good for at least 8 hrs. I'll guess longer in cooler weather? I'd really wanted Elle or Elle Intense to be my first YSL, but I think fate had it right placing this in my hands first! And the BOTTLE, Ladies!? It's just gorgeous. I still recommend trying it before buying, but I think it's a good fragrance investment. UPDATE: I just love this. Who woulda thought!

Was gifted this by the rep from L Oreal Lux the year it came out. At first I was not a huge fan, I was wearing the new reformed Opium, Aromatics Elixir or Shalimar at the time and could not appreciate the true depth of this stunning concoction. Today after a week of wearing sweet white florals (White diamonds and Giorgio mostly) I decided to revisit some of the drier fumes in my wardrobe. This stuck out, standing tall on its shelf, a massive 125ml falcon. I decided to wear this for the evening and boy am I in love! On me I get a very real zesty pink pepper note in the opening. Followed by abundant orange blossom lightly sweetened by jasmine resting on a warm base of incense and resin. Honestly stunning, this is an intimate scent lingering close to the body when worn sparingly. I sprayed quite a bit and was not overwhelmed at all, just enveloped in its warmth. I had this placed with my spring fragrances but have decided it's would be spicy enough for cool weather. Now that it's discontinued here in Canada I'm very happy I have this in my collection. I don't tend to enjoy orange blossom, it has become all too common in feminine French perfumes, but here it is tempered perfectly with the right amount of spice. Very enjoyable yet more akin to Belle de Opium then the original.

I am not usually into very heavy perfumes so this may be my kind of floriental. I really like this perfume. If only it would have a little bit more spice it would be perfect! The base is a bit of a generic smelling oriental mix (at least I have smelt the same in a cheap but fairly nice leathery oriental perfume) but the spice is a perfect addition which adds that edge to the smooth, sweet, a bit heavy and a bit fruity base. I thought the spice was cinnamon but seeing the notes it must be nutmeg. Every time I got an extra whiff of that spice the mix smelt perfect but unfortunately it was really only sporadic whiffs I got. It is a very nice scent that keeps me sniffing:) Projection and longevity is perfect for me, noticable but not overpowering and reasonably long lasting. I cannot really comment much on the drydown as the evening was spent at a camp fire:) But I did seem to find more intense insence/smoky smell on my wrist than anywhere else! I have not tried the original Opium. I think this is a delicious floriental summer evening scent for people who like warm, sexy scents but not overly heavy, sweet or gourmand. Edit: After a paper strip test of the original I can confidently say I much prefer this more flowery and fruity scent to the heavy and boozy original.

A fragrance is just not about the notes. It's the bottled experience, memory, or the fantasy that makes them so special. That is what OPIUM Vapeurs De Parfum to me. I grew up knowing a limited concept of beauty which media portrays in the late 90's. Then I chanced upon this "diva" who changed all that. She's a glamazon!!! Modelesque but not necessarily the model type. She stands tall not with towering heights but with an immense confidence much like how this fragrance stands on her own. An ANDROGYNOUS BEAUTY: She is both soft and strong. She was dressed in an acqua green venus cut top with its delicate fabric draping beautifully on her which the Orange blossom embodies. She may be into the latest fashion but all I know is she has that flair for the dramatic; introducing EDGE to elegance for contrast. Just like Benzoin and Nutmeg, her Victoria Winters do sans the fringe works so well with her gold bindi creating a distinct look. INDIE as it was labelled at the time. I never got to see her again after that but she's definitely set a gold standard for me to call her my "heroine" besides my beautiful mother. Wearing this just takes me back to that day where beauty is just simply how you define "You"!!! EXOTIC...SPICY...a must have!!!

The most divine perfume!!! Beautiful, heavenly, superb. I love Opium Vapeurs de Parfum by Yves Saint Laurent, it's so gorgeous!!! And SUCH a beautiful colour - so fem - i - nine!!!! Ladylike and elegant like the perfume. So soft and pretty, like the perfume!!! It's a wonderful wonderful delicious mandarine....the beautiful warmth and rosy fragrance of the pink pepper, the gorgeous sweet jasmine and orange flower, and the stunning base notes - so many of my favourite notes: patchouli, benzoin, vanilla, incense, nutmeg, amber and lovely woods - all so rich, creamy and deliciously spicy. The combination of all the notes, which are so beautifully blended, is superb. It's such a soft, gentle yet rich and sensual perfume - very light, luminous, and comforting. It's like a soft, downy blanket that you're all snugged up in, feeling loved and cared for. It's so beautiful. And has really good longevity and sillage - at least 12 hours, and a couple of feet. It wafts gently through the air around me, and garners me lots of compliments. It's a dream.

I have never worn Opium, not the original, nor any of the multitude of variations released since Opium launched in the late ‘70s...until now, until this fragrance. When the original Opium was first released in Australia, and well into the ‘80’s, it was a hugely popular pervasive fragrance...that entire era smelled like YSL’s Opium. Back then, it brought to mind high powered, big shoulder-pad wielding vamps of the b@#$& breaking variety. I was probably a little intimidated by it. Reading the reviews here before I took the plunge, it appeared that some of the die hard fans of the original Opium are disappointed by this, and that could be why those who didn’t appreciate the original loved it. I have to say I love this, I can’t believe reviews saying it has poor longevity...sprayed at 9pm, can smell it still at 9.18 am ...12 hours wow. This is just the right amount of spice in a floral for me, although now I am tempted to revisit the original. Beautiful. Sexy, spicy, addictive, feminine.

If you can overcome the fact, that fragrances are now being marketed under brands that already have name recognition, such as Opium, and approach it from the perspective that this is a new scent, you'll be able to appreciate this fragrance for what it is: A poetic creation, by the MASTER perfumer that is Dominique Ropion. Make no mistake: This delicate floriental has all the makings of a classic, were it not for the trap of it's name: "Opium". I highly recommend you take the time to test this fragrance. Pay attention to how it transitions through it's facets, from the bright peppery mandarin opening, through the dusk of it's ultra-chic, contemporary interpretation of incense at the dry-down. Also please read Cassiano's brilliantly insightful review below. Prijection: moderate Longevity: 12 hours or more. I have found a new favorite. If only my top shelf had more space!

I did not have a good first impression of Opium Vapeurs. I smelled it on my wrist and my immediate reaction was: "NO WAY!" And so I focused examining the original Opium instead, on my other wrist. After about 15 minutes or so, I accidentally smelled the Vapeurs again - the smell had started to change, to clear up - for the better! I went from "NO WAY" to "Hmmmm"... From there on it was interesting to observe the scent transform, from something so unpleasant to something so pleasant. Opium Vapeurs is close to the original Opium - however, it is NOT as heavy! Opium Vapeurs is heavy in its own way too, with the same undertones, but it has a more floral scent. Vapeurs is like a summer version of the original Opium. It is a rather captivating exotic floral experience. The price in mind, the longevity of this fragrance could be better!

An ethereal, summery floriental, par excellence. Vapeurs De Parfum is a warm, sweet haze of balsamic incense and soft spice, enveloped around a core of sweet orange and creamy orange blossoms. There’s a little bit of woody tanginess to it, but it blends smoothly into the whole; neither too sharp nor too prominent. I find Vapeurs De Parfum sensual in a summery, atmospheric fashion. It’s intoxicating yet delicate. It's soft and light, but with translucent layers of depth, which it seems to invite you into the midst of, like a deep kiosk of colorful silks hanging in a summer market. It smells delicate, and romantic, and slightly foreign (to Western sensibilities)—like golden hour in the Eastern Mediterranean. I love both the original Opium and Vapeurs De Parfum, but they share very little in common, beyond both being "Orientals."

I LOVE this!, and I also like the "old" (heavy?) Opium! So to all lovers of the old an haters of the new version... It's possible to love them both! I think it's mature, feminine, balmy, fresh, and sensual at the same time. I think you can wear it anytime, anywhere... People ask me what I wear, and not because they think I smell Like Hell!! haha but because they like it its suits me. it is not just another fragrance, I find it a unique delicious perfume. Getting acquainted with a scent is exciting, surprising, a journey of discovery and sometimes disappointing .... It is one of my favorite things to do and sometimes you hit a small treasure. Vapeurs de parfum van YSL is such a treasure, I call it deliberately no opium, because I think it has its own personality and it is no small sister of the mighty opium from the 70's.

This is flat out lovely. I really don't get citrus except for a bit of brightness/juice. It is not tart, or citrus forward. So never fear. This is actually unique, I don't own anything else like it. Smooth creamy floral notes, mixed with a bit of pepper, and all supported by this luscious smoke. Smoke and incense normally dominate on my skin, here it is well behaved. It's the supporting actor, not out in front beating you about the face with burning coals. A gentle, easy to wear oriental for summer. It does very well in the heat. And I find it wears long enough, it's not 12 hours, and you won't fill up a room (it's summer please don't do that!) but you will catch wiffs of lovely scent throughout the day. A good 5 to 6 hours on me easily makes it a great afternoon treat that takes you into the evening.

I never particularly liked orange blossom note but this perfume is so well composed around it I can't get enough. Warm and feminine with a hint of sweetness that is not cloying. A full bottle will be mine. Soon. :) Edit: Eight months later, I finally have the full bottle of this gorgeous juice. I have to admit the opening is a little bit harsh, almost too sour and pickle-ish on me, but after 5 minutes or so it calms down to creamy, soft yet strong concoction of orange blossom, incense and spices. It brings up thoughts of a Mediterranean holiday in a white sundress. Even though I think this is a very feminine fragrance, strangely enough I can very well imagine it also on a man. I think it might be because of the woodsy base notes. Love!

wow im sooo lucky got a real 120ml of this on ebay with 50ml still left sent 4 -9 pounds !! i needed a bargain i never ever get one usually ever- so either way no bother if i never liked it-omg its really beautiful, classy and much more softer than opium original ,i,m 39 again so purrrfect 4 my age as this is not a young girls sugar sent at all but mmmm spice and manderin whats not to like, roll on summer ! :) now i want to try Alien as a reviewer below said its similar ! Edit: this is nothing like alien I now own 2 versions of that beautiful fragrance similar they are not ! I used it all up and am a looking for a new bottle so yep I LOVED this soft spiced summer opium. Even the hubby loves this one bless him ;)

I picked up my seven year old daughter and her classmate from school today. As soon as they got in the car my daughters friend almost yelled: Oh, what is it this car smells of? I asked her if it was anything bad? No, she said, it’s the best smell - it’s flowers and strawberries and vanilla cake! And then I realized it was my perfume that I put on seven hours earlier that she really liked. I like it too. It’s fresh and feminine but has depth and staying power. I don’t get any smoke or incense - and I don’t mind as I don’t like it on my skin. I get white fresh, wet flowers with some sweetness, a bit of spice and wood and some vanilla. I haven’t worn it in summer yet. But I almost can’t wait to.

This is absolutely heaven in a bottle , it's floral and spicy with lotsa mandarin mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I love love love this it's amazing this is star perfume done right , I have no idea how anyone can dislike this its STUNNING and fresh fresh fresh , sparkling, yet still orange and light spice, soapy in a nice way, it's a shame it's not in an edp , but this is my favourite summer juice. 9/10 on this , would have had 11 if it just stayed a bit longer. Truth is , if you pick it up at a reasonable price , u can just pop more on during day it's a pleasure this one to spray again :) Lorvvvve it ! i actually finished this , it needs replacing so it must be love love love ... :)

This Opium Vapeurs de parfum for being a Legére" which means light feathery is absolutely stunning and surprisingly long lasting,the orange blossom with the incense and pink pepper is just right I didn't expect to like as much as I did considering I'm not a pink pepper fan at all maybe black pepper would've been better.. For me the juicy narcotic orange burst then comes orange blossom with incense nutmeg and pink pepper making it soft and spicy not too floral for me it does remind me a bit of Aqva Amara Bvlgari! This was a blind buy that surprised me totally giving it 4 stars! It's gorgeously sublime as a Summer fragrance! Go for it and the flanker is BEAUTIFUL!

Soft but not skinclose. Wonderful softspicy to my skin. Fresh flowernotes dances in background. I never liked the Original Opium - find it hard to breath when Opium is near - But this flanker - my God its gooood! Its not loud - but its there - and I love those scents that lingers around for several hours and give small wiffs now and then.. Mjuk men inte riktigt hudnära - men nästan. Superfin mjukkryddig på min hud. Fräscha blomnoter dansar i bakgrunden. Jag gillade aldrig originalet Opium - får svårt att andas när Opium är i närheten - men den här - wow - den är inte högljudd men den är där, runt dig för många timmar och ger små doftpuffar lite då och då.

Oh. My. This. Is. Good. Stuff. First whiffs off this is "citrus-y", but on the sweeter side. Mandarin, satsuma, orange. Mixed with pink pepper, almost the same sort of mix as in Chanel Chance eau Fraiche, but not as "lemony-fresh" More, "floraly-spicy-sweet-fresh" (at the same time?! - yes) Then it blends in to a sensual mix of sambac jasmine, orangeblossom and incense. Oh yes yes yes. It's sensual, smoky, fresh, soapy and romantic. It's not as spicy-smokey as the name wants me to feel like though. But, this might be what the opium-smoking flapper-girl would smell like after taking a bath and then going to sleep in fresh linen while the sun sets.

I have tested it this morning and i'm so surprised i loved it since i usually hate all the "Opium something" scent except the beautiful " Opium Fleur de Shanghai" from 2005 . I don't feel much pink pepper in it ,( it's a note that i usually dislike and yet i'm loving this cent .) Just like Elie Saab and Yves Rocher's "Tendre Jasmin " there is a beautiful Orange Bloosom / Jasmine combo ( i guess this is getting trendy? )warmed by the incense and the amber however . Not surprisingly all the Opium lovers hate it , i predicted it right away , it's really not like the man-eater original Opium , but those who hate it may like this scent , like i do .

A delicately spiced feminine fragrance. Jasmine and nutmeg are two of my favorite notes. The incense is subtle (just the way I like it) and the citrus not strong either. Nothing about this perfume is overpowering. I find it soft, warm and alluring. It's also a rarity as I have not found many spiced/oriental fragrances that would work well in summer, but this one sure would. It is definitely 'Love' and I want a BIG bottle now!! It is a shame this beautiful fragrance can't be appreciated on it's own merits, as it really can't be compared to the original. I noticed it's not on the YSL site. Is this a limited edition then?

Haha! This is a happy fragrance. It seems as though the smoky orange notes should produce a somber feel but they are playful and ethereal. A tad candyish but veers more toward the sweetness of plant. The fragrance lasted a good 7 hours on my skin in the spring unlike some others reports of a short lived scent. I think this opium is just suited to me because I do tend to have longevity issues with quite a few fragrances. Please do test as it may be cloying for you, I dont find this but I cant get enough of the scent.

The fragrance and the bottle are good match! Perfect summer smell and quite unique. Flowery but not sweet,fresh but not aquatic. First you can meet a very potent citrus and orange flower cloud,that is refreshing in a strange way. It is loud but untouchable, like a beautiful woman, an eye-candy. Elegant, young, delicate and luxurious. It is so unique in the recent gourmand-floral-patchouli parfume world. It's light as a soft veil but strong as confident and lasting. Very well done!!!!!

I use to wear the original Opium way back in the 70`s. That was a very `here I am` in the room kind of perfume so I was very surprised when I tested this one. I would never wear the original Opium any more but I do love this version. Orange Blossom, Incense, Jasmine, Nutmeg, Pink Pepper, these are just some of my favourites in a perfume. Silage and longevity are very good as well. It lasted 8 hours on my skin and 3 days on my jacket. A winner for the coming Spring and Summer.

First, I hate original Opium, never ever thought I bought something name Opium. :D But this changed my mind. I would have never tried if it had been on sale. Thank you sale tag this nailed it. After a long time I finally smelled something very unique. For me this is quite heavy, but I`m huge jasmine fan and that is what I smell the most. Floral, warm and little bit spicy. Last for ages on my skin. I think this is more evening scent than day. Only one spray is enough!

An unique perfume, very exotic, that escapes from mainstream. Opens with very strong mandarin and pink pepper, then there is nutmeg and incense, and last the woody notes and patchouly. The floral notes are very subtle. I don't like to compare this with Opium or the vintage Opium because this is a whole new perfume, not intended to be a copy or a watered-down version of the former. It's intensely spicy, very sensual, mystic, a work of art on its own.

It needs to be worn to be appreciated, it does not delight you when you test it on your wrist for some reason, but applied globally - oh my, it greats you with a juicy mandarine and soft orange blossom seamlessly blended with jasmine and pink pepper. Then there is the underlying smokiness and warmth, it's creamy and delicately spicy but the freshness of orange makes it versatile. Yummy. Excellent longevity - 12 + hours on me.

Have to disagree about this not being tart. On my skin it's a little sour, very tart and held up by an incessant pink pepper and incense base. In saying all of this, I love it. Very unusual, even if it is modern day chic personified. It just does it differently and I adore that. Some might call it 'just for the young ones' and I have to disagree. It takes guts to pull this off, even if it is understated. Very lovely.

I can really see this becoming one of my vacation fragrances, since it is so fresh and delightful, while keeping a firm personality. It smells of fresh mandarins and neroli and it has a slightly peppery character, all that added on a lovely incense base. My skin tames the perfume and makes it powdery and soft, just the way I like it. I think I will buy a full bottle for the summer. Oh, and the colour is divine!

I tested this on back of my right hand and ck one summer 2012 on left hand.I immediatly fell for this one,pink pepper and mandarin combination obviously works with my skin chemistry.Its lasted 5hrs+ on me so far and still going strong!. Its a winner in my books and i'm loving it enough to want to add it to my "want list".I'm a huge fan of the original but I can even appreciate this Opium flanker.

Wow this seriously smells Devine! I'm usually not into very floral perfumes but this is balanced so well with the other notes! The mix of white flowers, orange, incense, and patch makes it feel powdery with a pinch of ever so sweet deliciousness! I'm hooked! I was happy to add this into my selection but for the first time in a long time I'm thinking it will be my signature scent!

This went on my wishlist before I even knew what it was, the minute I smelt it on my... grandmother. This scent is amazing, very rich, warm and sensual and unlike anything I've tried so far (I don't know what the original Opium is like; I've only tested Black Opium which I dislike and this one). I find it more suitable for evening events during fall and winter. So classy!

The celebration of feminity. I have tried it today. My next purchase for sure. This is exactly what I have been searching for long. The scent which is not girlish but not mature or serious, not too macsuline but not too sweet. It was launched in 2012? I didnt expect this kind of scent the flanker of Opium could be. Luxurious sophisticated feminine scent.

LOVE THIS ...but wait..is it bad to spray this with another parfum....what are the rules with blending...because i just discovered THIS ...with another..(miss dior)..IS AMAZING....who else blends 'THIS WITH THAT' because the results can be stunning .Is it rude or part of the enjoyment of fragrance to experiment...let the experiments begin I say.

Tested this one out today and am in love! It smells like incense and musky sandalwood but the jasmine, vanilla and oranges give it a feminine flair. It's not too heavy or overpowering, just a gentle breeze of incense. I love the smell of Hemp shops and this one captures that glorious smell fantastically! Will be purchasing this one.

Very comforting and refined scent. An ace for the lovers of white florals, but not for the fans of gourmets since it has a bit of "coldness" to it. Incense gives it that lovely "old school" note, which, again is not everyone's cup of tea. In case you're a fan of Infusion d'Iris, Ellie Saab or even Alien, take this on a test drive.

Now this smells like a zesty orange cream pop to me! It's very strong and long lasting. The strongest orange cream scent ice found so far. I love layering it with vaniglia del madagascar! I love the scent of vaniglia del madagascar but it's a skin scent and vanishes quickly so I decided to try it with this and its amazing!!

I love the blast of orange blossom covered in mandarin with hints of smoky incense in the background. It is magical. So fresh and lively it is great for summer, but it fits any weather. I love this scent. It is even better than Opium. Libre eau de toilette and maybe also Libre Flowers and Flames remind me of Opium Vapeurs.

Interested in buying a sample or small decant of this fragrance from someone, I fell in love with it 10 years ago and it was discontinued by the time I went to look for it, it was on the market so briefly -- I'd love to get the chance to smell it without blind buying a full bottle. Just sprayed this for the first time from a sample on the back of my hand. And it was immediately a very big like. I will see if it has some decent longevity, if it has, I'm afraid I will end up with a full bottle of it. It smells very comforting to me but also very familiar, don't know if I have ever smelled it before.

Pretty perfume. Smells a lot like JPG Classique. I was actually surprised how much so. Later, on the dry down, it developed into a completely different sent. I like it, but I don't know if I'll be purchasing a full bottle. However, it may be a nice, softer option for me as sometimes I find Classique too harsh.

Wow - this is gorgeous!!! Beautiful floral, with my beloved patchouli adding an earthy zest, delicious orange and the enticing pink pepper's rosy smell; and incense melting it's gorgeous sweet woody aroma through everything. It's divine. Rich and beautifully blended. Very calming and comforting perfume. Yum!!!

Beautiful, beautiful fresh, clean spicy, incency fragrance- another YSL that suits to my chemistry perfectly.I love citrusy incence mixture so georgeus surounded with white flowers where orange blossom dominates. Certainly reminds to Opium, which is not my can of coke. Like Opium on a spring diet!

I love this. One of my other faves is Chanel coco mademoiselle and this is similar. The opium version! I can't agree with the other reviews. I love this. Maybe they shouldn't have called it opium as I don't think it is anything like the original which is probably why opium lovers don't like it.

Omg I was just in a blog on here about this one...the subject was summer incense scents. This is it, and it's beautiful and elegant. Love! So what if it's not the original Opium most people win t wear that in summer/ humudity. It's a flanker and a good one at that.
