This Is Him! Undressed

A nicely composed, everyday scent that doesn’t cost a fortune; citrus floral in the top notes (courtesy of a lively grapefruit , softened by a beautiful orange blossom) given a spicy kick by the pink pepper; a salty, skin-like musk accord supported by ambroxan in the midsection and in the closing act, a light touch of cedar and sandalwood. I don’t get any moss but all the other components seem to be present and accounted for. Easy-to-wear and perhaps it will read as a bit too intimate and quiet for anyone accustomed to “loud” scents with a reach of three city blocks, but if you’re looking for a modern scent that might encourage someone to get a little closer, put this on your “To Try” list. Worth mentioning: During its final stages, this veers rather close to perfumer Lorson’s AnOther 13, for Le Labo.

This parfume is just so great. It is different from everything else in my collection. This is just so relaxing and enjoyable. I don't have many of these in my collection. But I do have a few mellow ones, like Montblanc Starwalker, Acqua di Parma, Blu Mediterraneo - Mandorlo di Sicilia & Shiyaaka (which is similar to Reflection Man from Amouage). If I had to describe the scent, This Is Him! Undressed in very few words, I would compare it to something. This smells like Dunhill Icon, if that scent was a skin scent, and made ready for bed. Now, don't get me wrong, they are very different from each other, but there are some Icon smell in this. Is it blind by safe?, no it is not. Many would prefer something much stronger. But if you want something that is smelling fantastic, without shouting, this is it.

I went to Sephora to try out some fragrances and I discovered this hidden gem, it smells like fresh clothes ironed with very good quality soap kind of like prada l'homme and a slightly citric and masculine(probably from the ambroxan). It's a perfect clean smell. Also very comfy , I would wear this on a white t shirt and blue jeans or hoodie, it works with a suit aswell. 10/10 for me , better than any "blue" fragrance. It lasts on my skin for about 6-7h with arm length projection in the first 2h.

Shame this fragrance is so overlooked. Perhaps if Le Labo had been presented this formula by perfumer Lorson, and they christened it Pamplemousse 18, it would get more love. That said, don’t let the silly name put you off. It’s a well-composed perfume, that’s easy to wear, and doesn’t cost a fortune. My full review is somewhere below.

For me it’s an unique masterpiece, it smells like you do not wear fragrance just have a pretty good natural smell. It’s perfect if you do not want to be an annoying fragrance guy, who’s fragrance detectable from the other side of the corridor, I am a huge fan of the original This is him, wanted a summer version and that’s it!

Underrated. soft, clean, musky with a slight pep/zest to it. Sits close to skin, lasts long and a great value on discounters. Given the price I prefer this over scents that cost close to 200usd i.e. Pacific Rock Moss, etc. A man who likes light, fresh, clean musky scents will enjoy this - it isnt hard-edged, bold or brash.

I find this one incredibly sexy, but also with incredibly low performance, it project for about 30 minutes and disappears within 3-4 hours. Great for an informal date in pretty much any season. It would be fantastic if they release an EDP version.

I think it largely depends on skin chemistry but in a scenario where it lands perfectly, I would in fact want the man to be undressed the second I smell this on him. No further comment

Smells like a cheap version of molecule 01. Its just iso super after 30 min . The opening is great though .

Undressed is an excellent choice — especially if you like the “clean but sexy” aesthetic.

Absolutely love the opening, feels like a modern citrus freshie had been designed in the 70's yet not dated at all, just the right amount of light floral from the orange blossom which gives it an almost sherbet sweetness. Great for a spring/summers day out in the open. As it dries down, it gradually gets closer to a much lighter version of the opening of the regular this is him with added freshness which is where it starts to get a bit disappointing to me, still wearable but losing what made it special. Can still smell it the next day but at this point it's reached a not overly alluring but familiar shower gel scent almost with a touch too much salty skin, although as the weather warms up (below 10c at time of review) that might not be such a bad thing and more of that opening sweetness will hopefully hang around. My previous experience with Just Rock though was that after 3 months of maturing, the scent grew on my substantially so fingers crossed this can go from a 7/10 to 8.5 with time.

As mentioned in the comments - this one is a hidden gem. Though it is nothing fancy or "wow" it really manages to captivate. Would categorize it as a musculine sporty scent for the spring and summer. Projection for about couple of hours and longevity for probably 5 to 6 hours. The price, though is high. Do not get me wrong - this one is a great scent, but for the same price (at least in Czech Republic), you can buy, for example, Versace Dylan Blue. Therefore in my opinion, ZV This is Him! Underessed is maybe little overpriced. Nevetheless, would recommend it

While the original This is Him was dark and strong, this almost is the opposite scent to that. The original was my signature for a few years and i still love it. This is much lighter, something for spring and summer but a completely different person would wear this. This makes me think more hippie kinda person with a buttoned open shirt. Carefree, on a sunny day with his hair not done just hangin out. This is unisex maybe even a little on the feminine side. I like it but i don't think it's really me.

There's something sensual about it while remaining gentle. It does kind of smell natural to me, as if this was a "your skin but better" kind of fragrance which is what makes it the perfect for everyday or office scent in my books! I do agree you might like the original better if you are looking for a darker, different vibe, however. Sillage is about moderate, leaning to a skin scent while the longevity is pretty decent.

yeah, a bit feminine, so what? excellent opening, zesty yet deep. good as signature but also as everyday office frag. it's not better than the best from zadig (this is him), but more versatile. nathalie lorson simply delivers again. 7/10

This is one that I feel comfortable wearing anywhere. It smells like crispy, washed linen sheets air dried in a clear sky, sunny weather. It smells very refreshing amd cozy to me.

It's a clean, citrusy, musculine scent. You can find a similar to this one in zara. It doesn't smell luxurious or special. Just a pretty, light fragrance.

The scent is lovely. Doesn't project at all. So great for every day office. Opening is really nice. You have to love white flowers with this one.

I think this is a take on molecule 01, never really understood the appeal of these kinds of scents. A very light musk, too weak to make out any specific notes.

Smells great but so does Zara - Amalfi Sunray so hard to justify the retail price (around 90 eur / 100ml). It’s a classic yet modern orange blossom on a musky woody base. Update: Tried one more time carefully and would like to open up my initial review. It really smells great. I still can't justify the retail price but on discount it could be in my radar at one point. This time I could decode parts of it. Opening: A very uplifting neroli, high on limonene (grapefruit note?), and low on indolic aspects of the orange blossom. In the background the velvety woody musk of Cashmeran is noticeable reminding me of Comme des Garçons - Wonderoud, Molecule 05 etc. I think the effect of what I can only guess as Javanol next to Cashmeran makes me think of CdG - Wonderoud. But the neroli - grapefruit - orange blossom is at the driver's seat that sets it apart. Mid: Orange blossom prominent, the musky and rich effect comes up, probably here the musks are most noticeable, like the human skin type Muscenone (skin note?) or hot iron type Habanolide (which is used in countless of fragrances but first comes to mind 212 Men, Bvlgari PH, Kenzo Power etc.). All these musks create a "fuller" effect that you don't see much in orange blossom type fragrances. It's like Neroli Portofino top, Bal d'Afrique on steroids in mid, mixed with some Wonderoud, Molecule 05 or Genetic Bliss at the base. If prices fall towards 50 eur / 100ml, this becomes a very good choice provided that you like white musk-lemon-orange blossom-sandalwood.

No musk, no amber. I am testing this now and I find it woody and slightly floral. Associations to the new Dior Homme or H24 . It’s very light and transparent. Feminine, very feminine. Uninspired. Nothing to note, quite boring no-smell-fragrance. Zadigs first two releases were much stronger.

I really wonder why someone in the section: "this perfume reminds me of..." added all fragrances with words like "naked", "sex" and "pussy" in their name 🤔 It's quite pathetic...

Only just tried it. It smells very fresh and clean (like clean clothes), reminds me a lot of CK Be in that regard. Pleasant, not very original, though...

I like it a lot for me it’s like Hugo Boss with Mandarin aromatic and nice (there is no Mandarin listed but I smell so). Very nice everyday Fragrance.

Better opening than I expected EDIT: This was when I tried it on a paper strip. Tried it again and on my skin it immediately smells quite bad.
