This Is Love! for Him

Not as light as i thought.. It has the same vibe than the original, just less peppery and dark, less serious. More unisex also. A small blast of citrus in the opening ( quite different from the OG ) and then it becomes more familiar, the sandalwood is still proeminent, a lot of orange blossom too: the sweet and creamy one. The drydown is perfect to my nose, vanilla and white chocolate should be added in the base notes, it definitely smells gourmand at this stage. The projection and longevity are excellent, but it's a bit less strong than the OG, which is a beast. If you're a fan of the OG and want something more suited for warmer seasons ( maybe too much for summer) : this one will be perfect. Maybe too redundant having the two.

Because of the bottle i wore this mostly in spring and summer. But i think this works better in the cold weather. When i started wearing this in fall, suddenly the compliments rained in. The og is still one of my favorite smells ever but this is my second most complimented fragrance. Behind montblanc explorer. And i got a lot of the usual suspects for that kinda stuff. I feel this would be received better if the bottle was matt blue. As it is fresher then the original but not extremely. And not for young folks only. I highly recommend

Honestly I like this. Went in the store to smell the new Acqua di Gio Profondo but this caught my interest instead. It’s something about it that works, their heavy vanilla fragrances need to lighten up to be more wearable and this is a good step. What I like most is that it’s youthful and alluring. I haven’t smelled this particular scent profile before. Very interested in this direction. I think they could have made it even fresher though. It’s very similar to original.

Wow, what a nice surprise! A unique, young and alternative perfume! Perfume for those who love to stand out, a shy bergamot blends with a soft and modern orange blossom, which becomes "warm" and enveloping in the drydown when the sandalwood appears! Tested a lot of the new fragrances released this year, and my favorite is this one, it starts off very strong fresh and a bit spicy, the dna from the original and the flankers are mixed in there somehow, you propably will like this if you liked the previous releases, the drydown is delightful and projection and longevity are good on my skin as well.

This is much better than some of the broken noses below will have you think. If you magine a fresher and slightly sweeter version of the OG "This Is Him" with the incense toned way down, then you more or less have this. Could easily be worn by men and women alike. I adore the OG, but I wear this when i'm not in the mood for that much incense.

I just love the opening of this fragrance, it's a blast of bergamot to my nose. The evolution is fast and it turn into a simple vanilla-sandal accord, really wearable and likeable. It's a nice scent for an under-30 man. Performance are just OK (4 hours on my skin + a nice sillage for the first hour).

It's more fruty/sweet in the opening, like a blue version of This is him ! On my skin it has a good longevity and projection. Actually I prefer it compared to This is him. However, the DNA of this is him is there.

Having liked the This is Him, I'm wandering into Z&V releases with a reassurance that they will at least be passable. That's a dangerous state of mind BTW. From this I got a fairly 'generic' (I do hate that term but it's fitting in this instance) opening of heightened, diffuse citruses and musk resulting in a sigh of...oh well it's not terrible but they appear to have peaked in their first release...how sad. But wait a moment (or an hour or two to be more precise) and you will be treated to a very rounded and appealing, synth santal and mild, creamy florals in the base. It actually had me thinking, wow this isn't half bad, coupled with the fact that it has a central note among all this that I'm not sure what it is, and it's unique, alluring. It's sweet and kind fruity but always maintains a none too vanillic sandalwod. I'd have to try it again but This is love Him, ain't too bad from an initial test out on my arm.

(January 2020) Tried this one out on paper. The citrus note is exactly like This is him. It's very similar to This is him, but without the smoky vanilla vibe. So it's like, if you take This is love and layer it with Just Rock, you get This is him. That's probably oversimplified, but you'll absolutely know what I'm saying when you smell this. I kept the paper blotter in my pocket, hoping to smell the sandalwood in the drydown, but to my surprise all I could smell was a very strong lavender note. Now there's a note I have problems with, especially if it's too obvious. It smelled more or less exactly like Spicebomb Extreme if you let it sit on paper for an hour or so (ugh!). It started out nice, but I hated the drydown. But yeah, I haven't tested this on skin, so take it for what you will. It'll probably be different.

worked on the promotion of this fragrance; it was a crowd-pleaser. a nice fresh fragrance that transforms into a subtle creamy powder. pairs excellent with the pour elle version. the only hang-up i have with z&v pour lui fragrances is that they're mostly edt; they would do extremely well if they were edp. i wish this lasted longer on my skin. feel like this needs a slight kick with maybe twice the amount of orange blossom and sandalwood. side note... the bottle for this is love! should've been a half of an abstract heart (the break in the middle is what would join the two bottles together = full heart) hire me z&v

This stuff is actually pretty strong. It doesn't seem that way initially but it really starts to project given a bit of time. I sampled it in store last year and just now bought a small bottle from how I remembered it. Initially I was disappointed, as the base seemed quite synthetic and harsh to my nose, which I didn't remember it being. But after a while it settles and gives off kind of a warm, fuzzy vibe. Actually reminds me of Code Colonia, and seems to have a similar problem of being a bit too simplistic. Not sure I love it, but time will tell.

This is very nice! Soft, creamy, just sweet enough and really inviting. A very good date fragrance for men. i got my husband a sample and i can not stop smelling him. It's a very intimate fragrance, nothing for night clubs. This is for a self-confident, good natured man. Thumbs up for this scent! Final note: 8,5/10

good experiment .but the sourness of the lime collides too much with the vanillic sweetness of this sandalwood. it is a two-phase perfume because both lime and sweet sandalwood are distinctly felt. little orange blossom. good experiment, but it's not my cup of tea. 6/10 excellent performances.

The scent of this fragrance is otherworldly. It is a bit sharp though, and the longetivity is like 3 hours tops. half an hour if you're outside/in the wind for long. If the scent lasted longer, would totally be one of my favourite bottles, but just because of that I'd give this perfume 6.5/10

This is a fresh take on the original, which is gorgeous.has some fresh orange blossom in the opening mixed with that dry and creamy sandalwood from the original. Great if you prefer a fresher take on the original, otherwise, stay with the original This is Him . 7.5

On my skin there is a sharp metallic side note in the base that ruins the whole otherwise near perfect experience. This could have been the perfect sandalwood fragrance, but that synthetic metal end is a killer, in a negative sense. Could be just me.

This is not a love for me. Common, tacky. Bottle is great, but that’s it.

A silly blind buy. 90% sandalwood, with a touch of neroli materials top to base, and a faint bergamot for 5'. Balmy, oily lineal skin scent for 2-3h. Maybe better for layering with something more alive. In this style from the perfumer I much prefer Mandarina Duck Black.

infinitely boring like a teacher at a date blabbering on about economics, missing any social cue and you cant even look away because thats rude. wear some woody room freshener, you couldnt tell the difference

yikes... this didn't smell good to my nose... reminds me of Listerine Total Care (mouth cleaner liquid)

I cannot describe how much I dislike this one. My worst blind-buy for sure. It smells nothing like how it is presented, just smells medicinal, depressing, old, and boring. The harsh opening is the worst part. No, this is just a big NO for me. Nothing pleasant or fun about it, just disturbing and discomforting.

Hi. Strange one this.. It is as if the brief stated that the opening must resemble the OG. And it does. Forget about the note breakdown for the first two hours. It is DARK, SWEET, RESINOUS, SMOKEY, HEAVY and WOODY. With loads of vanilla.. At the third hour it turns creamy and powderey, still rather sweet, but not as much. This is where the orange blossom and sandalwood becomes noticable. Much lighter than the opening. It does smell good in both stages, probably more suited for spring and fall, or an aircondioned environment. Maybe a date. It lasts around 6-8 hours, average sillage. Enjoy.

Does not differ much from This is Him!. The incense is still noticeable in this even though it's not listed. The vanilla is missing, but that's all. Not light (and different) enough compared to the original, basically redundant.

Very well blended perfume, this wasn’t intentional but the compliments with this perfume is really well received. That being said, everyone is sleeping on this brand Zadig and Voltaire is one of the hidden gems
