Black Tag 2022

A very clean woodsy, peppery grapefruit with some slight vanilla/musk in the drydown. Great scent. Clean, pleasant, inoffensive and extremely versatile. I could wear this one 24/7, year round. It kinda reminds me of those citrusy wet wipes, haha. In a good way. It doesn't have too much depth tho. The projection is quite alright for the first hour or two, but the longevity is very disappointing. Good thing it's a cheapie, you're gonna have reapply this one often. I'd recommend it, though!

Both this and Black Tag Intense are amazing fragrances! Performance is mid when it comes to Zara i would say, not the best but also not the worst. Buy the double pack, you will not regret it! Great value for the price!

I bought recently (2025) This bach is really good, they might have reformulated it as well. Longevity easy +8h, sillage above avarage. Creamy vanilic, citrusy fresh scent. Really like it, happy to they bring it back.

Very office safe and fresh fragrance. Performance is on the weaker side but at this price, just overspray and carry a decant. I paid $11 for 100ml which is a no brainer.

I like this one. It’s a dumb reach for the spring, summer, and fall. The opening and wood notes reminds me of Santal Carmin. Both are soft, not loud fragrances. Don’t expect this to be an out of this world type of fragrance. No, it’s a simple fragrance but in a good way. Probably for regular wear when you want to smell fresh, clean, like going to work, run errands, nothing fancy. Longevity is where this lacks but if that’s a concern, carry a decant and call it the day. Projection is good for the first hour. As I mentioned, it’s soft but it’s always present. After that fades slowly, but if you apply this on your neck and start moving, you get whiffs that again. For a $16 bucks, it’s way better than other designer fragrance. If you like blue fragrances that are loud, bold, nuclear, beast mode, then look somewhere else. If you like to offend people with obnoxious strong fragrances, or get “compliments”... if that’s your thing, look somewhere else. This is great for daily routine and it will get a lot of use for sure.

Weak to moderate longevity. You're gonna have to reapply. The good thing is it's lovely from top to bottom (initial burst is a synthetic but it quickly gets sorted). Citrus and vanilla up top, then quickly the pepper emerges. I would've preferred the ephemeral Grapefruit to linger longer with a bolder presence. What follows I didn't initially like - the vanilla powdery/lipstick aroma but I've actually grown to quite like it. This is a unisex scent IMO. Musk/vanilla finale. There is an imposing, persistent, but subtle earthy, woodiness under the sweetness which glides above the skin until the scent fades which I presume is the vetiver. Projects about arm's length, and the silage is decent. It's a great scent for those that don't mind powder. Cheap so you won't care that the performance isn't great.

Considering I only paid $9 for this one, it's not bad, it's fantastic actually when I think about it. This one doesn't use high-quality materials at all. Definitely smells on the cheaper side but the scent itself is very pleasant and versatile. Soft, slightly powdery, fresh scent. Gives off a slightly sweet soapy linen vibe. Good for the office and school. If you want to pay very little for a super versatile fragrance, that comes in a sleek modern bottle then this one is definitely the one for you. Good buy I just don't think I would reach for it over anything in my collection so I don't know if it will stay in the collection but good buy nonetheless. 8/10

Having read a lot of comments here and on some other websites I went for this fresh, musky fragrance. My first impression was good for this perfume but as It has started to grow on my skin, I actually love this one now. Not very persistent but for the price, I think one cannot complain. The thing that was absent from the comments I read before buying it, is the vetiver that shines after the dry down. I don't know if it is just me or someone else also noticed a lot of vetiver at the base. Anyhow, I love this now, its fresh, suitable for spring, summer days, can be worn at night as well. Very pleasant and smooth.

Had this about a year ago, didnt know much about fragrances and bought it cuz it wasnt too expensive, and surprisingly got a lot of compliments for it. Wasnt much of a fragrance head back then so can't comment on performance cuz i never noticed it, but definitely a good compliment puller for the average nose.

Nice, clean, fresh opening. And a bit surprised that no one mentioned it before but drydown reminds me a lot of Byredo's Gypsy Water. Great cheapie !

I bought a 100ml bottle of this fragrance on sale for only 8 euros, so I don’t think I have the right to be too harsh on it. Considering only the price-to-quality ratio, it’s fine. However, I find it really off-putting and don’t enjoy wearing it at all. Initially, I thought it would be similar to Chanel Allure Homme Blanche, one of my favorite fragrances. It does have that vanilla-citrus mix, but here, it just doesn’t blend well. I don’t think the vetiver and peppermint work with the other notes. Actually, it reminds me of a sweaty teenage jock on a date, wearing an Axe vanilla deodorant and chewing peppermint gum. I hate it. I guess I can’t complain too much, but I own other Zara perfumes that I love, so I know they can do better. Currently, I’m only using it as an air freshener, but I’m not sure I’m doing my home any favors.

Opens with a non-juicy grapefruit - more like the peel than the fruit, and an incense-y pepper note. Very clean smelling citrus but possibly too clean, it's making me think of actual cleaning products like lemon flash. Hints of vanilla coming through on the dry down, along with some powdery muskiness. There's no lavender listed but i'm getting an aromatic lavender feel to the scent, it's very "traditional mens cologne". Kinda classic, little bit mature, very business appropriate - makes me think of a grey suit. Not a stand out fragrance by any means but it's not offensive. Final dry down on me was cola without the sugar (i get this from almost all of Zara's mens fragrances, i suspect they use the same base for all of them and just change up a couple of notes) and a slice of lemon. Faded to a faint skin scent within an hour.

Zero citrus to me. It's all about vanilla and vetiver. It's sweet and woody which sounds nice but actually gives me headache. I am surprised that it was given quite high score here and reminded someone of Chanel allure homme edition blanche. These two have nothing similar to me at all. Black tag just smells dated and cheap. Well, it does not cost much, the performance is ok, but there are other better zara fragrances to choose.

A citrusy vetiver fresh fragrance. Light, a bit soapy and also retro. Kind of classy too. The encre noire comparison I see in the votes isn't far off, especially in the early stages of the fragrances but this quickly becomes much lighter and fresher while Encre Noire Sport stays much darker a inky with that ISO-E. What a weird thing for Zara to release at all. Are people buying these kind of half-retro, half-artistic scents at Zara? I kind of want to buy just so Zara releases more crazy stuff. But I probably won't buy it. This costs about the same as Encre Noire Sport so I say you should just get that, unless you really like the fresher version that is Black Tag (or you are buying the double pack with Black Tag Intense).

Just got my bottle based on the reviews here and the first spay reminded me of refreshing individual wet wipes they offer on economy class on planes! This is the second time I get such a smell the first one was from lalique white which smelld really outdated and so is this one I am hoping that maturing for a week would help change my mind about this fragrance as I see it may have a potential but the first impression is not good I got it for 9 euros so it's not a big deal I might actually return it let's see in couple of days if I change my mind

Lol you don't have to write such a philosophy about it, it's a dupe of paco rabanne black xs. Not entirely the same of course, this one has a bit more synthetic fruity notes, the opening is a bit less sharp than paco, but that's it mostly. Longevity is minimal, like paco as well.

I definitely get the comparison to Armani Exchange White For Him. The soft sweet (not the overdone modern bubble gum /fruit sweet) musk is as refreshing to find as it is providing memories. Like A/E White For Him, overspraying will gain you no new friends.

Incredibly light, without body, without any persistence. In itself it would not be bad, but too evanescent. Tip: move on. Nothing to do with the previous version ...

This smells very similar to Armani White. Not 100% but easily 90%. It is the Armani White DNA but with some extra citrus. You can guess that I bought it right away.
