Brulante Violette

I bought a new bottle, the dark one, and I think the notes are the same. It's beautiful. Jo Malone and Zara have something very noticeable in each perfume. The first time I smelled Energytically New York or Elegantly Tokyo it was an incredibly strange experience, it sounded niche and innovative, but I was repulsed by it. Then I tried them again and something clicked, something changed. If you are new to the world of fragrant perfumes, Jo Malone Zara's collections may be a little strange to you, but the more perfumes you try and experience, the more you will appreciate these strange and interesting new scents. Jo Malone is a talented lady. Burlante Violette is similar to New York and Tokyo, and with Fashionable London my favorite Zara ever. Violette is fresh, beautiful, elegant, sharp, without sweetness, but it is gentle and noticeable, fresh and modern, it is pleasant and unusual, very well composed. The sillage and longevity are impressive.

Please this isn't anything similar to Le Labo's Santal 33 , Zara's Elegantly Tokyo or Energetically New York. Please don't be misleaded by some of the perfumes on the " reminds me section " . Perfumes can develop differently on everyone skin depending on the person's natural smell and scent is something can be subjective but if you know a little about perfumes this gorgeous scent doesn't smell anything like Santal 33 or Energetically New York or Elegantly Tokyo . Brulante Violette is absolutely unusual gorgeous scent on its own way that you don't come across similar scent profiles that often. If anything it's very close to Zara's Accord No: 3 which I own and did compare . It is also has really similar elements as B. Balenciaga, DSquared She Wood, Yves Rocher Ode la vie. It's quite smooth, potent , serene perfect balance of green, floral musky , purple accords.

This is really lovely. Since this collection came back I went to sniff them at the store and came home with this one. To me it smells exactly like you just washed your hair with a really nice shampoo lol Is that worth the slightly higher (in terms of Zara) price? That's something everyone can decide for themselves. It's worth it to me, because I love these just-out-of-the-shower scents. The drydown is also very nice and woody. I really like it.

This is identical with Zara Accord no.3 Woody, but not as synthetic as that. It's also similar with Zara Mountain Woody Forest. But Zara Brulante Violette is smoother in my skin and has more earthy roots in the dry down. It's green aromatic with a touch of sweetness of fruity and white musk with a slight root earthy bitterness in the dry down. I love it and the bottle feels expensive, great for everyday use as the price is affordable.

Santal 33? Someone here compared this to that perfume, but it has got no resemblance at all with Santal 33 , this is flowery and fresh in the opening to then morph into a more earthy aroma. Super unisex and unique and back on sale

In my skin this smells exactly like Viktor & Rolf - Good Fortune and I absolutely adore it!! It's really long lasting and I do love how it radiates without being oppressive for others! I do recommend!!

For anyone who's looking, the entire silent flowers collection is back in zara. I just purchased brulante Violet yesterday.

One of the last Zara 50% sale, blind purchases of the summer. This was a bit of an afterthought purchase to accompany Romance D’iris. However, of the two, this is definitely the more wearable for me. Isn’t overly floral or feminine leaning, but not a safe unisex purchase by any means. The elemi and violet leaf stops it from being too headily floral, and the raspberry adds a fruity, velvety note. Not getting the Santal33, nor the energetically New York notes. Maybe it’s my skin type , but the dry down is smooth - no pickle notes here. Not entirely sure which occasion I’d reach for this. Maybe a little too intense for summer daytime wear. However, I suspect this will be a keeper, in an ever expanding Zara wardrobe rotation

This basically smells like a non-powdery violet top note with a mid note of that same pickled santal you smell in Le Labo's Santal 33 or in Le Monde Gourmand's Santal Supreme, followed by a base note of musky cedarwood, the same you would smell in a hamster cage. Out of the collection, it's my favorite. I would say that it starts off feminine and ends up unisex, maybe leaning ever so slightly masculine. It's a unique scent and not blind buy safe. It's clean and expensive smelling, but might not appeal to all. Smell: 8 out of 10 Strength: 7 out of 10 Unisex, leaning feminine

This is the only one from this line i like. It starts fresh, flowery then dries down to a woody, dry sophisticated smell. Slightly similar to luxury shoe shop smell with some very subtle leather

i got this as for free through a cheap reseller who was late to meeting me and felt so bad about it that she flat out gave it to me. i had never sampled it before. the notes seem rather inoffensive but on me dries down to an extremely powdery violet. very reminiscent...of an octogenarian. not unpleasant, but also not...pleasant. i relegated it to a sleep perfume but have found that i tend to avoid it even then. worst of all, zara has somehow found a way to make this one of all perfumes last, because if i spray it on my clothes it lingers for days on end. at least i didn't pay for it...

Santal 33 vibes, ok but not great. Strong. Whatever the notes actually are the scent on my skin is a clumsy Santal 33 dupe. I appreciate it’s not designed to be that but I wish we could move on from this ubiquitous fragrance style a bit. I have Santal 33 but hardly wear it these days.

I've only tried this on a test step so far, but for me it turned from sweet wood to sweet pickles lickety split. Romance d'Iris developed pickle notes, too, eventually, but it took a lot longer. The other three scents in this series seem more promising to my nose. (I got the mini bottle set. 😁) I agree this has the same "sandalwood" as Santal 33 and fragrances inspired by it. @talkaboutscents Thanks for the info that Santal 33 isn't a good example of sandalwood! That gives me hope I won't be doomed to sniffing pickles in any accessable "sandalwood" scent until the end of time.

I liked the opening a little bit, but the drydown is ugly... I am smelling rotten cucumbers and lots of incense 🫩... do not blind buy. Dry down is a mess

Talkaboutscents below is absolutely correct. It’s not sandalwood people! It’s papyrus, violette and cucumber accord.. and a few others. I have smelled real sandalwood oil.. it is an extremely muted.. somewhat sawdust-ish and cozy. It’s creamy with a sweetness that is not gourmand whatsoever. The smell reminds me of the sweet scent of the beans on the bottom of my dogs paws. It’s not screechy, not loud.. AT ALL. It’s extremely smooth to the point of boredom. Sandalwood is hard for me to detect in fragrance most of the time.. with the exception being these modern ‘Santal” scents. Out of my experience.. the one fragrance that I’ve smelled that properly represented real sandalwood ? It was the original Sensuous by Estée Lauder. Aside from sandalwood oil (which is nonexistent these days) Sensuous gave me the impression I was smelling real sandalwood. Any other note was only a simple compliment to the sandalwood. If you want to learn about modern perfume and aroma-chemicals.. read @talkaboutsvents frag reviews. I just got done spending 2 hours on his page.

Here's a very good interpretation of violet leaf, supported by fruity and woody notes. All the watery, green grassy and cucumbery aspects of violet leaf is present and in my opinion very well balanced by the raspberry and cedar notes, which I smell like Iso E Super and cedarwood oil combined. The powdery, carrot seed, rooty aspects of iris is not present in this one, so the notes are quite accurate thankfully. Often we see iris is listed and then it smells like violets, or violet is listed and it just smells like rooty earthy make up bag iris or smells like violet leaf. There's a very lily of the valley vibe to this one, could be what they passed on as Magnolia note. If I smelled it blind, I would think this is a release from Guerlain Aqua Allegoria series. This whole Silent Flowers collection is great IMO.

@cocovanillacake If only Santal 33 was a sandalwood scent...Le Labo is perhaps the worst brand when it comes to inaccurate naming...I don't mean to be rude but no one in the fragrance world should register "sandalwood" based on Santal 33. Here you probably recalled Santal 33 because it is in fact a cedarwood x violet scent (with leather and cucumber notes supporting) and here you have the same frequency in Brulante Violette, but definitely not sandalwood :)

Agree with the reviews in here. It is very herbal in the sense of cutting any flower stem and rubbing it between your fingers. I like the opening, not so much the middle notes. I bought a bottle that haven’t taken out of the box yet and I think I might have to return it. I love violets but not so much violet leaf, apparently.

I get why people compare this with Santal 33. It’s the cedar in the far drydown. Actually it’s closer to the drydown of Parisian Musc which is also commonly compared with Santal 33. So yeah there’s the connection (at least for me).

@thornandes I agree with you! I tried yesterday this perfume and instantly Accord no.3 came to my mind, I love that perfume and I was so sad because it's not available anymore, but Brulante Violette it's a great alternative
