Bye Love (Into the Wood)

Edit: it smells like a mix between Lush Lord of Misrule, Givenchy L'Inderdit Black (the bubbly candied flowers) and some sandal used by Jovoy/Jeroboam. Fizzy, candied citrus, noble rose and clean sandal. Playful and unique. This one is incredible to me. It is profound, and somewhat balsamic, only lightly woody, and it has a fizzy and candied carachter layered on the more deep notes and florals. It smells exactely the same as an old Lush Cosmetics bubble bath bar of which I have forgotten the name. I don't smell at all the given notes in the "traditional" way, either their mix created something unique, they have not declared the right or full notes list or Zara used a new to them type and quality of patchouli, because the deep soul this fragrance has can only come from that material. I shall try to explain better: on top I smell fizzy and mellow citrus notes, very reminiscent of gelly candies like Haribo but the one which are fizzy and sour while covered in sugar. The rose I get is deep and red, full of life. Very atypical though for Zara which usually utilizes rose in a more traditional or in fashion way, while in here it is very peculiar and almost niche like to my nose. It smells like a serious rose essence made playful by the citrus and deep by the base, so yes I would say it is quite peculiar. There is also a floral richness, but at the moment I can not say precisely what type. The base is a mystery to me: I get something balsamic, similar to light gummy olibanum, something green and only a light wash of the earthyness of patchouli. This patchouli appears to be sweet, no spiciness, no soil, no traditional 70's patchouli. The sandalwood too is different from the usual Zara sandal, it is all creaminess in here, it smells very clean and comforting, only lightly woody (no coconut, lactonic or camphorated nuances as in the others Zara sandalwood based fragrances). Finally what I can say to explain better this fragrance is that it smells like a mix between a Lush Cosmetics fragrance and a Jovoy/Jeroboam one, in particular between Lush Calacas (or Zesty/Dia de Los Muertos) and Floro by Jeroboam. It was a very pleasant surprise for me because I love that genre of fragrances. This would have fitted wonderfully the new Zara collection for men (unisex really), it is in the same vein, let's say, of Tender Amber and Spell Caramel, it has that modern playful carachter. Autumn and Halloween candies comes to my mind but that is probably a personal connection I always make with this kind of perfumes. What I liked the most is the way the citrus notes are treated in this fragrance, the gummy base and that deep rose. It has a good lasting power and projection too. My favorite from the Zara Minimal Collection. Edit: I can see why many compare it to L'Inderdit Intense (black bottle) since there is the presence of a floral component that almost seems candie like, fresh spicy elements, all on a base of refined patchouli, something that smells deep and earthy in a way. But I don't find them so similar, I smell no tuberose in Bye Love, and in L'Inderdit Intense tuberose is practically a core element, at least to my nose. Edit 2: what I always describe as fizzy candy could also be defined as a lollipop of sort, in this case flavored with rose and grape shades. Still not bubblegum tuberose/orange flowers though.

This is amazingly good. My new obsession. A little goes a long way (which isn't very Zara!) And I can smell this on my clothes days after it is sprayed. It's intoxicating, rich and balsamic sandalwood and rose. 10/10

This is a great long lasting perfume from Zara considering the price. I wonder why it does not garner much appreciation and like to some. This perfume smells wealth IMO.

This is definitely a close relative of L'interdit. To my nose it's not as sweet. That can make it take on a sour note. I think this would be great layered with their Nocturnal Life (Angel's Share) I would also layer it with fruity and sparkling fragrances. Because of the lack of sweetness, this is very much unisex and can be layered with other fragrance well. I wouldn't blind buy this if you've never experienced L'Interdit in the black bottle. The longevity on this on par. It's been 8 hours and I can smell myself well. The scent does have a sourness ,but it is also a dark, sexy vibe. For the price, I would definitely buy this again. If you love the L'Interdit line, you'll appreciate the DNA in this. However, next time I wear it, I will layer it with a pear 🍐 fragrance to sweeten it up. I'll also layer with fragrances with a Cinnamon spice vibe to give it a touch of the scent you get from L'Interdit Rouge. I won't say I prefer this over the original L'Interdit though. That has everything I love. But overall, this a great dark and sultry scent and I like it alot.

This one is a pretty simple and delicate fragrance. I notice all three of the notes that are listed and to my nose, it’s balanced pretty evenly between those. It’s a likable smell, though the compliment that I got from it, wearing the first day, was someone commenting that it smells like a scented candle – so that could be either good or bad. I’ve heard people say they got more tuberose than rose out of this: I don’t get that. It’s kind of like a dried, dusty rose to me. Nice daytime scent with great projection and good longevity.
