Coastal Salty Forest

I bought this on sale together with Sacred Green Forest, thought I was going to like Sacred Green Forest more but i didn’t- well this is not for everyone - I own a couple of hundred fragrances and over the past years I started to like these salty fragrances, style TF Oud Minerale, Bvlgari Aqva Amara, Kenzo Homme intense - I especially like to wear them on a rainy day in autumn or winter - reminds me of spending time at the seaside in Autumn when I was a kid - walking on the beach with the smell of the ocean - it doesn’t exactly smell like anything I already own, has similarities with all the others I mentioned above - this is not something when you are chasing compliments or for a first date, though there might be women who really love this scent, they can be rare

I just tested this and it reminded me a bit of Tsar, that I own. If you like that and you like that kind of green, classic style you will like this. Great performance, I washed my hands 2 hours after spraying and it's still there strong, but the price is too high for a Zara, about 66 AUD. Would I buy it at half price at boxing day? Yes and I did. I have Aqua Amara and there is 0 resemblance.

This smells like Bvlgari Aqua Amara which is proven good but really hard to find nowadays. Zara is reserving you a very good alternative here. So pleasant to everyone. Seriously a must have!

Leaving the first few minutes aside, when CSF smells much greener and takes a short while to get to the main notes, it smell enormously similar to Acqua di Sale, the differences being: AdS being a bit more balsamic, the myrtle is really hyped up together with an ozonic smell which results in a very balsamic, almost minty, close-to-nose-piercing accord, while CSF smells more toned down, not necessarily more realistic but noticeably less nose-piercing still, even though it still is quite balsamic. CSF being greener, with an ever so slightly smoky thyme note accompanying the main myrtle/ozonic accord, which is itself somewhat balsamic but takes some space from what is the pretty much only accord in AdS. Performance is not even close, a single spray of AdS has noticeably more sillage than a spray and a half of CSF, and it lasts days on a tissue compared to some 12-18h. All in all AdS is a bit bluer and brighter and CSF is a bit greener and more moderate. All in all they smell very similar but there are indeed differences, there really is nothing quite like Acqua di Sale, so if you want something along the lines of AdS and don't mind something a tiny bit greener and a bit less balsamic this is the frag to get.

It could have been much better...I like to keep track (though very hard given their pace of fragrance releases) Zara perfumes as every now and then they do release notable bang for buck stuff. I have been waiting a photorealistic marine scent from them, and there it was. When I say marine, I do not mean perfumey pleasant aquatics, but more in the vein of PR Acqua di Sale, Heeley Sel Marin and my overall favorites in the category, Reminiscence Rem and CsP Aqua Motu. These are all anti-perfumes that captures all the beauty of the sea, seawater, seaweed and that iodine infused breeze. Coastal Salty Forest has the same accord, but somehow perfumers chose to combine cypress with pine, and there for me it went wrong at the top note. The pine note is all about alpha-terpineol, that smells a bit like those pine scented urinal cakes. It needs more to mask this facets and here in all its salty marine transparency that dirty terpenic pine note is sticking out loud. Once you get through the opening, the rest is indeed a good alternative to the pioneers of this genre of fragrances.

The opening is clean, fresh and aromatic. You cannot miss the eucalyptus in it. The dry down is absolutely salty, smells like sea, or even seaweed. It's hard to describe the smell. It's not awful, it's just not easy to appreciate it. To be honest, instead of perfume, I would rather have it as toilet spray. By the way, the scented candle is not bad.

Gotta hand it to them, this is exactly what I thought a coastal salty forest would smell like. I wasn’t anticipating the pine, wish Conifer was in the notes, and for that reason it’s a no bueno from me, no need to leave the house smelling like a candle in a funeral home

I really like mountain woody forest, but sadly this isn't for me. This probably has something to do with scent association to certain memories on my part as there's nothing that stands out as offsmelling either. The opening smells to me like the dentist. Verry medicinal. Drying down you get fresh herbs, like eucalyptus and menthol. This reminds me of vicks or simular candies. The base isn't the worst. A wattery aquatic vibe. This part is to my nose the only part that conjures up an image of seawater. But its nothing special either, and by the time the scent hits this stage it pretty much has ran its course and its only a verry vague skin scent.

This is a clone of TF Vert d'encens. Personally I'm not a fan of either scent. This is very screechy and there's a lot of weird notes that don't work together. The saltiness is there, a bunch of sweet green resins, bergamot throughout. It smells like if you microwaved Haribos and pine needles and sprinkled salt over the mess

It makes me want to throw up. Yeah, its pretty realistic smell od sea port but I don't know why anyone would like to smell like it.

This is beyond disappointing. Smells exactly like the name suggests when sprayed on anything but skin. But on skin, it smells like oriental massage oils. It gives me a headache too!

This is the worst smell ever, it smells like a bad aquarium. I hate it.

It starts beautiful. I can clearly feel, hear wawes hitting the rocky coast. After 15 minutes, the marine note is gone and i can smell only the pine trees and dry grass, Yellow from the sun and the lack of water. This is the point where it’s 95% simmilar to Salaria. Which is great score at the fraction of price. But also a pity as i already have Salaria. And the other Reason is that marine note captured in first 15min of perfume opening makes this perfume perfect, exactly how i remember the Sea every time i leave Dalmacija (part of Croatian Coast). Still, dupe for Salaria at fraction of price is still something worth attention and grabbing. If you can still find it somewhere, buy it. You won’t regret it.

This is different from how most marine or sea-like fragrances smell. It's very green, salty and bright, almost sharp or even screechy. It's not an aquatic, for better (doesn't smell dated) or worse (isn't as approachable). If you enjoy the opening of AdG Profumo or Tom Ford Costa Azzura, it might be worth giving this one a shot. It was however a bit too much for me in something, but I can't really figure out why. I like marine scents, even the more challenging ones like Oud Minerale, but I worry this would be hard to wear for me. But it has an undeniable charm. I didn't really like it, yet I want to try it again and explore it more. Maybe that's a sign of good fragrance.

This one really shines in warm temperatures. It’s 30° here today in Brussels and I decided to waar this one again and boy what an amazing smell this creates on warm skin. The freshness of the pine , cypress and eucalyptus really come through mixed in with that saltiness creates a balsamic fresh - salty aura locked in with smooth almost undetectable patchouli. I also detect a yellow flower in the mix but can’t put my finger on it ( for now ) As I have the hand/body wash with the same parfume , it anchors it even more . HEAVENLY SCENT ! So happy to have an extra bottle of this witches elixir as I know I’ll enjoy this for a long time , especially in summer time .

The opening and early dry down are strong with the peppery/minty eucalyptus and pine. The Salty marine accord seems to mellow things down and fix the scent as it transitions to dirty closer to the skin. Projection moves from a few feet to about a foot, but I am certainly going to be wearing this one for me. I think it’s unique and wonderful on my skin.

Sampled in store - this one is interesting. Brief citrus blast, then pure saline. The salt accord is very metallic, and somewhat herbal. Eucalyptus is perceptible throughout, plus a touch of cypress. A very "thin" fragrance, but I mean that in a good way; it's piercing, light and salty.

It is indeed if not a dupe, at least an alternative to Acqua di Sale. The dry down is very similar maybe slightly less mossy and more spicy, and in the kick off there is more greenness and less marine notes

On paper it smells as it should be, beautiful salty fragrance, unfortunately on my skin it smells too synthetic so I can't enjoy it

I believe this is a dupe of Acqua di Sale by Profumum Roma. Have not tried Acqua di Sale so can't confirm.
