Colosso

I went into the Birmingham Zara store the other day and tested quite a few. I like quite natural fragrances and not your mainstream ones. I was drawn to the new vetiver one, also the Orange Blossom one, but this one stood out. To my nose, it is good quality. It isn’t the strongest, loudest projector, but you wouldn’t expect it to be at this price. It does smell well composed, it does have layers. If I was to reduce it down, I would say it does remind me of Tuscan Leather or Tom Ford Ombre Leather, but without, in the case of Tuscan Leather, the fruits, raspberries or anything like that, and without the florals of Ombre Leather. It does have a kind of hot stone effect, dusty leather. It is not sweet at all. It kind of does remind me of Rome in the summer: dry, austere, dusty, sun-baked. The leather kind of gives this hot masonry kind of feel, which I think is where the echoes of Noir Anthracite are coming from. But to my nose, it does not really smell like Noir Anthracite (which is one of my all-time favourite fragrances and I have a bottle) ; it’s perhaps in the broader family... it smells a bit like hot stone but no clear similarities

I smell strong leather and vetiver, but not the clean vetiver you usually find in scents. This smells very similar to vetiver essential oil, dark, thick, syrupy and extremely earthy. Basically dirt. I also smell some oud but I may be wrong. It lasts a very long time and it is strong, and very masculine (though I as a woman would wear it anyway). This is absolutely not fit for work though.

I’m in love with this fragrance, need to know: this is a dupe of what frag?? Edit: @akhlaghi.eghbal tried Animalique by Byredo yesterday and, even though it’s somehow similar to this, it is still quite different! Can’t believe Zara released an original frag this good! I’m still looking for the inspiration 😅

Way less punchy and smoky than Full Moon Over The Desert. Vibrant Leather & Violet Elixir or VL Extreme would be a closer pick for finding resemblance.

Is this really similar to Tom Ford Noir Anthracite? I'm about to get a bottle, but need to be sure 😭

So Close to Byredo‘s Animalique!!! Perfect quality for the price!!

To me, this smells like an overheated electric motor from some piece of machinery—maybe an elevator or something similar. It's an unpleasant, chemical, synthetic smell. Leather? Maybe it's what the sun-baked synthetic skin of an alien would smell like. I don't actually know what that would smell like, but it would still probably smell better than this BS. Honestly, it's a big nope. And that's coming from someone who enjoys unusual scents like gasoline and the like. This isn't merely unusual—it's downright disgusting.

Sweet at first, then the darker notes start showing up. Leather and spices are noticeable first but then you get almost churchy frankincense on the late drydown. Surprisingly complex fragrance for Zara.

@ Dark.Scent Colosso is an Italian word too LOL it’s the translation of colossus, e.g: il colosso di Rodi I don’t think they would make such a mistake, who’s the ignorant one?

Good morning, it's incredible how the Zara staff could make such a huge mistake in the name of the perfume. The correct name is Colosseo, not Colosso. What ignorance!

@Joaogarciabraga, this fragrance reminds of Animalique by Byredo Nice scent overall definitely a colder weather scent
