EAU/03 Positano Sunrise

Blind bought this for a beach wedding set in Aruba. I wanted to smell playful and tropical. Most people there didn't know each other which made the simplicity and oozing vacation scent of this fragrance perfect. This is definitely what I preferred from this EDP: its straight-forwardness. We're not trying to impress or be mysterious but having fun and smelling like it. As for the smell itself, the fruity opening quickly vanishes before the creamy and pineapple rich smell of the Pina Colada. It smells of a leisurely afternoon on a beach toasting under a golden sun ventilated by a tropical sea breeze. A clean delight!

Very pleasing scent, fresh yet it can be for anytime of day. Gives me a soapy middle note and bursting with freshness from the start. It’s a very good price point too, even for a Zara fragrance the price is below average. I will keep on using this for work, good stuff!!

Smells almost purely of ambroxxxan on my skin. Love it.

I have the full bottle of Positano Sunrise, and here's my thoughts: Scents: It opens fruity (leaning to coconut and citrus), the coconut here in the opening is quite dominant to my nose, which is fine from me. I don't have so many fragrances atm, this one is surely quite unique to my collections. After 5 min, it be more creamy, floral, and a bit woodsy. And the creaminess, coconut, floral and woodsy notes will last until the dry down. So far I like the scent. I will give 7.5 for the scent wise. The only downside, it doesn't have a depth or complexity from opening to the dry down. And it's quite unisex I would say. Performance: I don't have so many Zara at the moment. I only have this, Zara silver and Zara Gold. But this one doesn't really disappointed me in terms of performance. Longevity : 6-7hr (on clothes/jacket), 3-4hr (on my skin) Sillage : Moderate in first 2hours. After that becomes skin scent. For the price point, I will give this one a 7 for performance. So overall, I'm not disappointed with this fragrance. It's really good combination of creamy-coconutty-woody fragrance. It's good for summer/spring. And price to performance is also quite good! 7/10

So here's the story. I visited Zara in 2023 and smelled a couple of fragrances and I liked this one the most and it was also the last one I smelled. I was not sure if I want to buy it , but after me there was a pregnant lady that smelled it first and said out loud "Oh my god, I love it". So I turned around, said what the heck and I bought it. This was 1 day before my travel to Malaysia. I packed this for my trip and it was the only fragrance I bought and of course I used it every day. And for some reason, it was the perfect fragrance for the Malaysian climate. It was just fresh enough that it smelled great and refreshing in the heat during the day and just woody and powdery that I felt great wearing it at night. However the accords here said that it is sweet, I slightly disagree. I actually found it salty after the dry down , but really pleasant, like I was chilling after a swim in the sea. Every time I spray it now I'm reminded of my trip and that doesn't usually happens when I brought other fragrances to other trips. Really great $25 spend.

Creamy ambroxan violet. At times it feels too ambroxany to my throat. For the price it performs amazing.

I blind bought it based on the notes, it seemed like it may fall in the Le Beau category of scents, a coconut and pineapple with woody accords. Unfortunately all i get from this is just a basic aromatic freshie, an Axe deodorant type vibe. It's fresh, oceanic, musky and ambery, but no fruit in sight... I really wanted to like this one and got my hopes up for a Le Beau Le Parfum inspired fragrance but all i got is a blue fresh type of scent. I'm sure many people will like this one but i particularly dislike blue freshies. If you're looking for a pina colada scent, you'll be dissapointed. If you're looking for a cheap, blue, long lasting, marine freshie you'll be pleased. The notes here are wrong, these are from the box which seem more accurate. Top Notes: pina colada accord, violet leaves, grapefruit Middle Notes: marine notes, incense, jasmine Base Notes: ambrox, driftwood, white musk

I like the smell a lot, it reminds me most of Fusion d'Issey Issey Miyake, but it really doesnt have any projection or longevity unless you put like 8+ sprays, and even then you wont get much. for 13 bucks (when its on sale) its a fine price, but if you can spend more, please buy something else

Finally got my hands on Positano Sunrise. I was hoping for another take on a creamy citrus and suntan lotion vibe and I am not disappointed. In a similar vein to Amalfi Sunray, Zara’s Jo Malone take on the scent profile Mandarina Duck’s beachy Vida Loca for him and Big Daddy Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc with it’s sophisticated blend of creamy florals. It opens with a spritely blend of grapefruit and mandarin which slowly gives ways to the creamy coconut floral and some pineapple in the mid. The dry down phase gives the soft and again creamy woods their place in the sun. The final dry down is where Positano Sunrise goes the most solar for me. The sharp marine, creamy coconut a woods rest easy in my skin and give me reminders all day of this beautiful blend. I can understand how Positano Sunrise may come off as another citrus/marine aquatic for some noses, but those creamy florals and woods somehow work well on my skin.

To me this smells like Kenzo Homme the most. It has that watery, slightly sweet, but not salty marine vibe. I don't get any pina-colada at all - no rum, no coconut, no pineapple. The "smells like" section here is all over the place but I'd say it's mostly wrong, it suggests scents that are too salty and citrusy and this one is neither. I suspect it's mostly from people who haven't smelled the fragrance and are guessing from the note breakdown.

Bvlgari Wood Essence, surprisingly no one caught the similarity.
