Elegantly Tokyo Elixir

This fragrance is incredible. The jasmine and cherry blossom blend beautifully. the jasmine is not quite indolic, but it is luminous and is reminiscent of jasmine tea on my skin. The cherry blossom provides a creamy petal to the fragrance. The bamboo is airy, wet, and light. The akigalawood grounds the fragrance with these lovely clean peppery nuances, but it isn’t perceptible to me until the dry down. This isn’t quite Tokyo to me, but is reminiscent of entering the private world of a wealthy figure living a quiet life in a rural prefecture. It is sitting in the shade of a minka, with a cup of jasmine tea, and watching freshly cleaned laundry billow in a cool breeze after the home’s lush garden (full of jasmine, bamboo and a large cherry blossom tree) was hit by spring rain. It is meditative, fresh, floral, clean, but also mysterious, sensual, and chic. It is safe for the office and a date. And for me, this is likely going to become my signature scent. On my boyfriend’s skin, it was green and the bamboo note was almost photorealistic, as if you could smell the vines and the core of the bamboo, along with the minka and clean laundry. The florals were completely absent. This is a “clean girl” scent for the coolest woman or man you know. This will be excellent during humid or hot days during the spring or summer.

A truly beautiful jasmine fragrance. I had heard good things about this Jo Malone collection for Zara, so I stopped into a Zara and, wow, what a surprise. Both the Elixir and the EDP are beautiful, but I ended up going with the Elixir, as I was not sure I could pull off the EDP, which leaned a bit more feminine to me. This is a fragrance that simply makes me happy. I cannot help but smell it whenever I get the chance, and it is hard to explain why. In a way, it brought me back to why I loved fragrances in the first place. It is about the simple pleasure of smelling something beautiful and wearing fragrances that bring us joy. It is not about hype or compliments, but about being who I want to be. If I have not made it clear enough, I love this fragrance. Do I think everyone will enjoy it as much as I do? No. But that is exactly what makes it so special when we come across these personal gems. It lasts well above 8 hours on my skin, has a nice natural feel to it, and feels like it would be perfect for all season as it is fresh but still has some depth to it.

I love this one. To my experience, it opens with a woody scent, sort of having a kick factor; I believe it is akigalawood. Once it sits on my skin, it shifts towards a more flowery scent mixed with a bamboo touch; the woody effect is still there, but just in the background. When I was trying it at the Zara store, it was one of the first I sniffed, then passed on the others, but that interesting kicking scent mixed with softer notes stayed on my nose, and I ended up purchasing it. Silage and longevity are quite satisfying, given the price-performance ratio. It's been five hours now since I sprayed it, and I can still smell it on me. It is neither a boring flowery scent nor a woody bomb, yet it embraces both with a hint of soft freshness, with a mild nuance of bamboo. Good for those who look for something different and affordable. If you like Byredo La Tulipe, you will love this as it is quite similar yet way more affordable :)

This is a truly beautiful and calming scent. It's in the realm of Guerlain's Lys Soleia and Terracotta but gracefully sweetened with plush flowers only and without vanilla. I'm not feeling Tokyo, but a cool rainforest being gently humidified by soft golden sunlight. Blooms of spiced tropical lillies and jasmine are most notable, but also something kin to ylang ylang or plumeria, all with supple green stems woven with smooth wooded vines, all cradled in a tender banana leaf. Everything is blended in delicate balance to culminate into a complex yet quietly addictive scent, drying down with a diffused wooded veil dappled with pale gold and aquatic green, animated with wisps of musky floral nectar. I find this elegant and feminine; bold yet quiet; soft contrasts that whisper to me alluringly throughout the day. Big love.

On my 1st initial spray on the arm test I was initially not that impressed and moved on... Ffwd to 2 hours later and this was catching my attention.... Very nice soft vibe that was kinda fresh/floral/musky and different to other elements in my collection.... And it turned out had some staying power Jumped into a full bottle next ain’t look back. Get plenty of positive remarks/comments when wearing this.... Some might say it’s not for blokes, however I disagree if you are well presented or chilling with your other half post shower .... But if your sat in a van full of blokes that don’t shower on your way to dig holes in the road, your gonna get the piss ripped out of you big time!!!

I smelled this on someone else and it instantly reminded me for some reason of hellenist chant le chant d'Achilles. This is more floral and not so herbal mysterious. I bought it and on me it smells more floral but it still amazes me cause it has a very significant longevity for a floral perfume. The woody background compliments it in way that feels classic yet modern, not mainstream. Sillage is just fine. Jasmine is not usually my thing in a perfume but this is very well integrated and until I can buy le chant d'achilles this serves as a great alterantive. Love it!

Omg this is a very sexy fragrance, I smelled it a month ago and since then I can't get that beautiful smell of my mind, so I bought for my birthday 3 days ago right of the bat 3 woman complemented me I was so overwhelmed with this sent, this is a floral and woody sent you feel fresh, calmed and very exotic. I haven't smelled this on anyone yet but I will never tell what im wearing. So if you like to be different give this a try its on my top 5 P.S the Elixir will last over 8+hrs don't overspray 6 to 8 is enough

When I spray this perfume twice, it immediately brings to mind fresh jasmine flowers, white blossoms, springtime, and a cool breeze. It’s a fresh, addictive, sensual, and joyful jasmine (not animalic). It’s one of those perfumes that makes you smile because its olfactory notes radiate happiness. I find it more concentrated than the EDP, with great longevity and projection. If you have the chance to try this PARFUM and you love fresh jasmine + white florals, this one is for you.

I smelled this the day before I went to the Niche Perfume show in London the other week. Sprayed it on in Zara Covent garden, took me straight back to my garden in Surrey at dusk in 2014 and projected like a beast for the rest of the day. Woke up the following day still smelling of it and thought about it until Saturday morning when I stood waiting for Zara to open again just so I could buy a bottle. Conclusion: I fucking love this. This is unlike anything else in my arsenal

The Elixir version lists added notes of cherry blossom and bamboo. It’s a very similar scent to the EDP, but the bamboo really is very notable, much more than the akigalawood is in the original. The lasting power on the elixir is really long lasting – eternal, as Fragrantica would describe it. In my opinion, the elixir is a less floral, more woody (bamboo wood, that is), longer lasting version of the original. I don’t really pick up on the cherry blossom.

A bright, clean and a little bit soapy jasmine mixed with creamy green note coming from bamboo but this greenery is not like grassy or bitter. Akigalawood adds a luxurious and niche like base and quality into this masterpiece. I think this is one of the best fragrances zara ever produced.

This is so good! I’m not entirely sure why, but in the dry down I’m picking up a subtle, fresh, green rose note. Whatever that nuance is, I absolutely love it. It’s blended beautifully and comes together really smoothly. It also leaves a very beautiful sillage.

This was a blind buy alongside Moonrise on the Horizon Intense, and it's a completely different experience. The Opening: A bright, green, almost crisp start. One reviewer perfectly described it as "a florist cutting flower stems in a flower shop". It's fresh and clean, with just a hint of sharpness from the green notes. The cherry blossom is present but not cloying. It's luminous and delicate. The Heart: As the green fades, the jasmine takes center stage. Specifically, it's jasmine sambac (Arabian jasmine), which is less indolic and animalic than Grasse jasmine, giving it a cleaner, more transparent character. It's floral but sophisticated, not a teenage girl's perfume or a laundry scent. There's an elegant, almost calming quality to it. One reviewer described it as "a sheer sea of jasmine blossoms... white, fresh-tender, clean, a little powdery, bright and clear", which appears pretty spot on, to me. The Drydown: This is where the fragrance reveals its depth. The akigalawood (a modern "oud" effect) brings a soft, warm, slightly earthy woody base. It's not heavy or animalic. Imagine the trunks of sakura trees, clean and elegant. The bamboo wood note adds a soft, natural texture. The result is a refined balance between floral softness and woody character. It finishes fresh and clear, never becoming cloying or kitschy. Performance: This performs significantly better than Moonrise. Expect 6-8 hours of longevity with moderate sillage. It's not a loud fragrance, but it lingers beautifully. On clothes, you can smell it for days. The Elixir concentration definitely delivers on its promise of increased intensity and longevity. Versatility: This is an elegant, sophisticated scent suitable for both daily wear and formal occasions. The clean white floral character makes it perfect for spring and summer, but the woody depth allows it to work in cooler weather too. Office-safe (sillage is moderate, not overpowering), yet distinctive enough to stand out. For me: Elegantly Tokyo Elixir is a serene, elegant, and modern floral-woody fragrance. The opening is crisp and green, the heart is a beautiful jasmine, and the drydown is a warm, soft wood. It's one of those fragrances that brings "actual joy and happiness" when you smell it. At this price point, it's a genuine gem and one of the best in Zara's Jo Malone collaboration line.

I think this is one of Zara’s strongest fragrances in terms of projection and longevity. I haven’t received a single negative comment about it so far. People who walked into my office room said, “It smells so good in here, like flowers.” It also has a room-filling quality, even though I had only applied 5–6 sprays before leaving home, and about 3–4 hours had passed. What impressed me so much when I tried it in the store was that it reminded me of the scents I would catch at a cocktail bar on a terrace during a very warm Mediterranean summer evening. The only downside and quite a considerable one is that I notice it turns sour on my skin with heat. I hope I’m wrong about that.

Tried this today after hearing a guy the same age as me (mid 20’s) say “everyone compliments me on it” So I gave it a few sprays as he then continued with... “and my mum steals it from me too”. Not my cup of tea I’m afraid, there’s a note in it I really dislike almost mothball like (maybe the bamboo?) it’s sort of acrid and rindy but dry which with the Jasmine note makes it feel quite old fashioned (1980’s rose style scent). I can see why his mum liked it but a try before you buy for a guy. Multisex leaning ‘female’. Age 30+. Spring/Autumn. Great performance. 6/10.

A nice (wet somehow) jasmine fragrance with a woody base. Has that Jo Malone natural feel, but with way better performance and a much lower price than your typical Jo Malone perfume. Perfect for spring. Lowkey reminds me a bit of fresh, clean laundry.

Beautiful clean scent. It’s also green, leaning towards those Chloe atelier Or dyptique scents.

Initially I got a blast of soapy, washing powder floral. I instantly thought that this was a neroli bomb. But no neroli in notes. Glitch with the sniffer???? Must be jasmine / bamboo mix? After a few minutes of drydown though, it gets sweeter and jasmine becomes a bit clearer, along with a subtle dry woodiness. But the soapy, washing powder vibe is still there. Cannot believe this is 'for men'. Would not even call it unisex - def feminine leaning. For me it is just a meh. EDIT: I judge neroli by how Neroli Portofino smells... and just looked at NP notes - it also includes jasmine! Hence my confusing the jasmine here for neroli.

Its giving me laundry sheet vibes sadly. I do get lovely wafts of it but if I sniff 5 inches from my arm, its def laundry detergent/sheet vibes. If you like FRESH, this is it! I gotta give it a hand shake on the longevity though! I think I'm gonna have to scrub this one off in the morning!

Performaces: amazing. Smell: beautiful, but waay too floral for a man fragrance. O dont know how is marketed as fragrance for man, its seems too feminine even for an unisex. I will give it a few more wearings, but probably it is not for me.
