Extreme 14.0

I liked this perfume so much that I bought three bottles to stock up since Zara no longer sells it. This is the scent of real spring forest violet with a hint of cedar, other perfume brands have nothing like it. Zara 14.0 classic is an identical scent to this one, only less intense.

This smells like cardamom and watermelon ice-cream. It has the most powerful sillage from all the new Zara line. But the longevity is typical Zara. Cardamom is not listed, but it is 100% there.

I bought an Extreme sampler (the whole men collection) from Zara and I suggest you do the same, before buying full-size bottles. Although Zara fragrances are 'cheap' you might be tempted to buy a full-size bottle on the first sniff (which is exactly the marketing idea here). Testing these in real life on skin for scent, projection and longevity will give you a far better idea if this is a good bang for your buck. Zara Extreme 14.0: similar to most Zara fragrances, the top notes merely last a couple of minutes and they are only there to lure you in when you would smell these in the shop. Opens quite fresh citrusy and floral. I can pick up the lemon, bergamot and violet. Not bad but joy is short-lived because within a few minutes the base kicks in. A bit salty oceanic but without much depth or power. What remains in the base reminds me of a mixture of fruit-scented shampoo with a salty touch. After a couple of hours only a hint of cedar remains when you press your nose against your skin. A weird combination of slightly sweet, salty, and woody but I don't dislike it. However, as with most Zara fragrances, it's the same problem: projection and longevity are below par of typical designers. You could use this as a cheap gym fragrance, day scent (if you want to wear something which will hardly be noticed by others). It's an all-year-around versatile scent but more suitable for summer and spring. One of the better Extreme fragrances in the Zara line-up, but not saying it's very good.

I have the complete Zara Heritage collection (Classic, Sport and Extreme) and I will review them all here on Fragrantica. This is the worst of the Extreme line. I don't get what it supposed to smell like. And in which ocassion this would fit. The smell makes me a bit nauseous. I can't recommend this one. Just can't. Overall a 4,5 out of 10.

This one had potential, but its too synthetic. You can tell once you smell it if this was an eau de parfum or parfum , it would be awesome. The watermelon note is what keeps this intriguing. I will not buy Zara fragrances that have to many notes anymore , they are all muddy, cloying and to synthetic. I notice all Zara fragrances with 6 or less notes are the best blended , best smelling scents and less harsh. I will stick with those. I buy niche and designer.

I get blackberries with aldehydes. I look at the notes and can pick up the watermelon in that. Kind of dark, fruity and resinous.

Light summer fragrance. Reminds me of a fresh coctail drink. Don't love it, don't hate it.
