Frayed Edge

This is a clone / inspired by Comme des Garcons Wonderwood. It's 90% similar. You get your pepper and sandalwood. Long lasting, but soft to moderate sillage and projection. Scent 10/10 Longevity 8/10 If you see it buy it! Now I have a backup bottle. Maybe I should get a third one... Only 10.95 euro.

I have the complete new Zara Collection tester sets. So i will review them all. This is by far the best of the four. Maybe the best release of the whole new collection (20 fragrances). I am not finished testing yet. This is a 100% copy of Mercedes Benz Infinite Spicy. I smelled it immediately because that one was my signature scent last fall. I sprayed them both on a arm and it was the same. Only the Zara one performs really bad in comparison. Its like a light version. The Mercedes Benz is discontinued and is one of the best hidden gems in my collection. I do recommend this one. But only if you can't buy Infinte Spicy or Cerruti 1881 Bella Notte Man. That one is also a copy, but by the same perfumer (Oliver Cresp). So same juice, different brand. Cerruti also performs less than Mercedes Benz. Overall I give this one 8 out of 10. Day Collection: worst = No Plans, best = Stormy Day Night Collection: worst = Night Skyline, best = Midnight Hour Denim Collection: worst = Dark Wash, best = Frayed Edge

This is a warm spicy fragrance with strong earthy vetiver. Last long and it projects very well. Definitely try before buy

It smells like a niche cologne. Very similar to Remarkable people

This is Zara's take on Much Ado About The Duke from Penhaligon's.

I really enjoy the scent on paper, but it disappears from my skin within 30 minutes. My bf said it smelled like a candle, so maybe this could be used more as a room spray or air freshener? Disappointed it doesn't last longer or project (but that's Zara, I guess!). Probably my favorite scent from the Denim collection, but the poor performance makes me not want to buy full bottle.

I bought a Zara 'Denim Collection Sampler' first and so should you BEFORE splashing out on full bottles. Although Zara lures you in with cheap prices and attractive bottles, there's a serious drawback: the projection, longevity, originality and depth of the far majority of the Zara brand is at best mediocre, at its worst very poor. Zara Frayed Edge starts out promising with a tempting blast of cardamom, but in less than two minutes it's over and you get this slightly sweet base. It's rather a tame vetiver than a woody fragrance. It's not 'bad' but it has no wow factor whatsoever. There's some kind of sweet note in the base I can't identify, but it's from the cheap kind that might induce a headache if you're not a fan of sweet fragrances. But, don't fear: unless you douse yourself in this stuff, I doubt that within one hour people can not even detect you're wearing a fragrance because as usual, the concentration is poor. Another run-of-the-mill fragrance in the Zara fast-sniff business. Comparing this with the power of Comme Des Garcons feels like an insult for Comme Des Garcons. Please don't buy this if that is what you are expecting to get. So far, and I've tested a whole bunch of Zara Frangrances on skin, there are only two that stand out: Warm Black (discontinued to make way for another line-up) and Midnight Hour (still available). However, don't expect top-class, rather a good bang for your buck.
