The Rocky Satellite Of Jupiter Gold Oddity turns around a smooth suede-leathery tone that makes it intriguing, with an unconventional set of nuances that range between mineral, ozonic, and salty. I’ve read many reviews and watched some videos, but I can admit I didn’t grasp its true essence until I tried it on my skin. The first impression is that this piece is the best of the ZARA Sensitive Metallics collection, so full of contrasts and oppositions. The perfume, once sprayed, fills the air all around you. It’s gorgeous. It is slightly sharp and boozy from the alcohol, but in a few seconds, it reveals its raw mineral side. The chords of stones, concrete, stardust, and pebbles are extremely evident. I seem to smell the stones kissed by the sun and wet by the water, a little brackish and a little salty. There is certainly something metallic, perhaps molecular or perhaps because of the presence of the peel of the unsweetened mandarin, with that characteristic smell that distinguishes it from other small citrus fruits. More than from the peel, the metallic smell is what the green leaves release when they are rubbed or broken. There is a small gap during the opening where a very familiar smell appears. Do you know that odour you smell in the air when you iron a woollen item and protect it with a damp cloth? That cloud of hot steam brings with it the smell of cooked wool. It’s so intimate and familiar. The next one that comes up is the saffron flower, very spicy and slightly leathery, but soft. it is a flowery saffron without those overly dark or medicinal notes that this beautiful and precious flower can sometimes have. There may be other spices in the mix since I feel the sweaty notes of cumin, never dirty or disgusting, rather something dusty and mineral very close to curry powder, the mild variety, the less spicy one. Maybe it’s just the result of the notes mixing. Another aroma that I can smell close to my skin is that of dried grass, of a bunch of wildflowers dried by the sun. Slowly, the leathery notes emerge. It is not a bursting, raw, rough, smoked, or inked leather that smells of animals. Instead, here we are talking about suede, elegant, smooth, and sophisticated. At times I smell something greenish and dewy, which makes me think of violet leaves, represented here by its alpha-isomethyl ionone synthesis. There is a beautiful dynamic in this perfume, which alternates the airy, ozonic, and watery nuances of violet, with the floral and fruity ones, and then ends with something herbaceous, all supported by soft leather. The mineral essence prominent in the opening now takes the lead in the composition but never ventures into the aquatic territory. Once past the opening and heart phases, the fragrance takes on bitter woody tones, as if there were a pinch of cleaned-up modern patchouli, not as dense as real patchouli. It is reminiscent of patchouli, but has spicy and earthy reflections, without overpowering the other accords which feel great as a background. And a pinch of ambroxan couldn’t be missing, with its salty and lasting touch. Gold Oddity is a novelty among ZARA perfumes. It has never been launched in the past, and it also seems unique among the perfumes in circulation, closer to something niche, refined, particular and mixed interestingly. It’s a type of perfume I’ve never smelled. A leathery genre that remains airy without ever approaching the animal world, as happens in perfumes such as Ombré Leather (2018) EAU DE PARFUM, Memo series and so on. It is a very transparent leather scent. I rarely take out my leather perfumes on a summer day. However, I can’t wait to happily wear it on a summer evening. Ideal for spring, autumn and winter, safe for work, leisure and night out. The mineral, spicy, and leathery nuances project well and last for many hours, which is not bad for a ZARA fragrance. This fragrance will not appeal to everyone; it’s certainly not a scent you’ll smell on every other person. I'm writing my thoughts based on a bottle I've owned since February 2024 (BC 33340).

I have never smelled Ganymede so I can't make a comparison but... I really like this fragrance! It opens up slightly citrusy, soapy and salty. Don't take the salty literally, I mean it like a rock in the ocean type of smell. It is also very metallic, minerals and saffron are what comes to my mind. I have to agree the dry down is kind of unimaginative, smells a lot like Red Temptation or other dupes of Baccarat Rouge. I highly dislike that fragrance and all of its reinterpretations but I really enjoy this one. Who would've thought that adding citrus, soap and rocks is going to change my mind about this fragrance? Also reminds me of taking out fresh laundry from the drier. It might sound intimidating how I described it, but it's a gentle and fresh scent once you try it. Good longevity, I can smell it 24h later on my clothes. On skin about 6 hours. The dry down is my least favourite part so I will either reapply it during the day or layer with something else. It made me curious to try Ganymede for sure.

Updated review: I got the chance to try Ganymede a few weeks ago at a store in Munich. And, oh my, what a beautiful fragrance that is. I HAD to buy a bottle and ALSO bought a backup of Gold Oddity within a heartbeat. They both are not the same. While Gold Oddity is a very fresh, bright version of Ganymede - some here compared it to a shower gel version, which fits imo - and therefore is a perfect daytime scent, Ganymede itself comes with more depth and complexity. It is the perfect companion in the very same scent profile, perfect to add a bit (read: a lot) more gravitas for the night. So basically for me, they complete each other. Gold Oddity gets big love from me. I am amazed by the quality this radiates and people around me give very positive feedback whenever I put it on. And I love that the bottle comes without a Zara branding! The sprayer is quite nice, the cap feels heavy and closes tight - I'd say the overall presentation is absolutely fantastic. Hope this will be around for years to come.

If someone hasn't encountered Ganymede before, this scent might seem quite peculiar, but anyone who's familiar with Ganymede will immediately recognize the resemblance. This fragrance will replace Ganymede for me on warmer days when Ganymede's intensity can be overwhelming. Gold Oddity is a simplified version of Ganymede, still boasting above average performance – lasting around 8 hours, projecting moderately, and leaving a noticeable trail for about 3-4 hours. For me, it's the best scent in this series and the only one that truly fits the name 'Sensitive Metallics' – you can sense the mineral, somewhat clinical metallic notes finished with suede leather. Ganymede scores 9/10 for me, and I'd give this one an 8/10 – although considering the price, it would be a solid 10/10. When it comes to the level of similarity between Gold Oddity and Ganymede, it's more or less like the resemblance between Sunrise On The Red Sand Dunes and LV Imagination

This is the only one of the four that has a slight metal-feel (soapy-metal-feel) in it, imo. The other three are not appealing to me, to be honest, very very boring! This is a beautiful , hot-day-warm-clean-skin-vibe and uplifting scent to me. On my skin it realy radiates, its as if there s an expensive bar of unisex soap (that has warmed up in the sun) rubbed in my skin (def. no sunscreen vibes) . No flowers, no gourmand sweetness in this one at all, only hot airy sunny warm- kinda metal-soapy clean vibes. Bought already a back-up bottle. Wearing it for the past few days (an all year round-scent imo.) and I love it.

This is fresh, “green”, aromatic, sparkingly peppery and absolutely unisex. I tried the complete new Metal collection in store and couldn't stop sniffing the back of my hand, where I sprayed this “oddity”. It reminds me of something vintage – and at the same time it feels very modern, invigorating and is rather niche than designer territory. I’m really impressed by the quality it radiates given the price point. Big, big love.

@PERaven Honestly, on my skin, Gold Oddity is like a whole different vibe compared to Bois Imperial, which,turns out to be my all-time favorite scent. Gold Oddity for me is like the scent version of what Ganymede shower gel would probably smell like...just has that vibe! I've been enjoying this fragrance for the last five days, even though I feel it might shine even brighter in the springtime, in my humble opinion.

I like this one a lot. It has an airy feel to it, think of baccarat, but doesn’t smell like baccarat in the slightest. The leather in this scent is kinda muted, not really noticeable, but I‘m glad they made it like that. Idk but I really get the gold association. Also it makes me think of light. Like bright daylight idk! Weird associations I know but I just wanted to share what this scent made me think about.

I wore this for the first time and got a compliment from a man and a woman (separately). They were both shocked when I told them it's "allegedly" a dupe for a high end perfume, and that they were shocked I spent so little on it. Definitely unisex. 06 Jun update: I've worn this a total of three times, and have received compliments every time.

I have a 10 ml of ganymede and was desperately searching for affordable dupe. I am pleasantly surprised how this one goes. It is not 100% copy as I find the GO a bit fruitier but mineral note is really well copied. As someone mentioned it's less offensive and more wearable sister of Ganymede. Really recommend this one!

I never smelled "Ganymed" that everyone here is comparing it to, however I instantly fell in love with this scent. This fragrance smells expensive and soapy clean. Perfectly unisex. Long lasting. Quite linear. If you want to smells classy, warm and fresh, I 100% recommend this. It kind of reminds me of cutlery warmed up by sunshine. The mineral note seem blended with a warm/solar note (maybe it's the spice?). Leather is only slightly prominent but more like a warmed up leather seat lol. Great for office wear. Suitable for all seasons apart from very freezing winter. I also bought Splendid Bronze in this collection because I needed an Alien dupe and it's safe to say that the performance in these is great. The dry down on the 2 hour mark becomes more subtle and sillage is not enormous, but this is a good thing! I feel like it becomes possible to smell beautiful without overpowering everyone. Overall lasts 8 ish hours. This is a steal.

There is truth in the comparisons with "Ganymede" and "Bois Imperial' - they might all be relatives, but definitely not triplets. What this TRULY reminds me of is Blend Oud's "Oud Marrakesh", and this also, at least initially, gets that bread-y quality (I will say, this might be a personal problem with my skin that some leathery and inky notes (for example, Zara's "Vanilla Supreme") really smell like a dry baked good on me"). Both Oud Marrakesh and this experience some difficulty in +30 degree heat, which is not a problem for Ganymede - which wouldn't be bothered by 0 kelvin or the core of the Earth (miss Bisch truly cracked some ancient code with that one), and really benefit from some humidity. All in all - if in the beginning you feel a little disappointed, give it some time, it's quite interesting and a worthy standalone fragrance. A very good combo is this paired with Byredo's "Mojave Ghost", especially in oil form.

Building on what Vincent Law said a few reviews down, for non perfume freaks (the other people in real life who will be smelling it on you) it’s a very good impression of Ganymede and the feeling it gives is the same if not as luxurious. Only problem is in comparing them: my biggest note is that the saffron/akigalawood base is barely there, which is a shame since that’s my favorite part of the scent. It’s more approachable and fresh/ aquatic, probably safer for more casual situations and more appropriate for warm weather (subjective but I hate Ganymede in warm weather). I actually appreciate that the projection is weaker, since sometimes the real thing is too loud for me. Still not a safe blind buy, but it is safer if you want to try this type of scent or find the real thing to be overpowering or unwearable. And it’s more widely available for testing.

Ganymede? Well, kind of, it reminds of Ganymede a lot, but I think this fragrance to be more leather centric than the og, there is a distinct “minerality” to it but it doesn’t really hit the mark of balance how Ganymede does. Great all rounder scent still, can be worn dressed up and down, has a solid longevity (6-7 hours) with a moderate projection. EDIT: I got home at 9PM, I sprayed Gold Oddity at 7AM, my mother could still smell it on my clothes (I did 1 spray to each side of the collar of the shirt), she loved it and wants to take my bottle now lol I prefer Mystical Metal in this collection though, that one has insane performance on me and smells super pleasant and leathery fruity, a twist on Bibliotheque by Byredo imho

I love Ganymede and decided to try this one as well as it's supposed to be a dupe. And i was not disappointed, it really is pretty similar! Gold Oddity is a bit more soapy and sour, borderline screechy at first, but dries down into a nice mineral-leathery scent. A more feminine version of the higher end inspiration, but still very unisex. Lasting power on me is pretty good. Smells better when I spray on my skin rather than on clothes. In conclusion a bang for the buck and a good casual alternative for Gany, as they very much share the same dna.

This one is hard to describe. Somehow it reminds me of a Dove creme. It's soft and fresh. Very inoffensive, out of the shower kinda smell. Really nice! Update: At the dry-down leather gets more noticeable, but it's very soft, almost creamy. Update 2: I couldn't get this fragrance out of my head, so I bought it. It's so good! It's a leather for leather-haters. It's not sharp nor dark. This can be worn even as a bed time scent. Longevity is great, I could still smell it on me after 7 hours (and I did only 3 sprays). Totally unisex.

It starts off a bit flat, but if you let it settle, it transforms into a really nice, spicy scent. It’s refreshing, crisp, and fresh-smelling, thanks to the mineral note. There’s a coolness to it that I rarely find in perfumes, and I adore it. It works for both a cool girl on a night out and a confident woman in the office. It leans slightly masculine, so it’s a great confidence booster—at least in my opinion.

I actually don ́t find it similar to Ganymede neither Bois Imperial, but they are all exceptional. Unfortunately, I can ́t smell Zara as strong as Ganymede and Bois Imperial, but my daughter smelt it from the other side of the room. However, she asked if I was wearing smelly socks :)

I bought this one today at first sniff I didn’t know what to think of it and then the second sniff I thought of soap freshness does not smell like the notes maybe that spiciness but that’s all I got anyway I really enjoy this carefree scent great for office or just everyday

I had higher expectetions for this perfume.The scent profile is ok but for my taste is too shy and soft . Longevity and sillage is minimum to my nose.

I've often wondered if Zara use the same name for different fragrances in different countries, or perhaps the quality control is just non-existent but I'm getting nothing like what people are describing here! No leather, no spices, no depth - just light, powdery florals and an odd (not necessarily unpleasant) mineral note. On me it smells like wet stone, plastic and powdery parma violets. @Marajjanak's description of freshly opened Barbie doll is pretty close!

If you struggle to decide between Bois Imperial and Ganymede, Gold Oddity is the perfect spot in the middle, slightly leaning towards Bois Imperial sourness. They did good job imitating Bisch's signature of Agikalawood. Performance is not keeping the pace of mentioned duo, but considering the price tag, it's nothing to complain about.

Not a safe blind buy! It’s not a heavy profile in a sense, more in the lighter field which makes it completely unisex. The mineral notes are very prominent and unique! I don’t think I’ve smelled anything like it before. It’s in the same family (distant cousins? 3rd cousins?) as Bacarat. Not entirely like BR540 but the same airness whisper of notes. It is too challenging for me to wear on my skin, but I spray this a lot around my home. It smells like the inside of a beautifully put together modern home. Imagine a newly built modern home with lots of black accent furniture and floor to ceiling windows. It’s raining outside and this is the home scent that lingers. I first thought this reminded me of a hotel lobby when initially spraying this, but hotel lobbies are more of tea, bergamot and lemony scents. This is exotic and smells of a higher standard.

For those who think that Zara Gold Oddity is similar to Zara Leather Fever - I personally smell no resemblance. GO is a sharp, official scent, LF on the other hand has a very prominent fruity note in the opening which makes it more subtle and (in my opinion) more pleasant on the long run. I do smell leather in GO, however in LF I cannot detect it. GO is on my skin very linear, which at the end of the day makes it a bit too much for my taste. LF develops nicely, changes after about and hour and its dry-down is very calming, so it is great for those who like fresh scents with a fruity undertone.

I find this more a cross between ganymede and imagination as opposed to ganymede and bois imperial. Bois imperial has a sharp herb note and it isn't present here. Its ganymede missing the spice note then the clean washing note of imagination added. I got 10 hours longevity on my arm when testing this. It is like a ganymede sport or ganymede cologne something along them lines. I love ganymede but it is a bit too much to wear in some situations. This is a perfect substitute when those times arise. Fantastic cheapie.

Another great cheapie from Zara, ingredients are quality, aka this is a longlasting scent that lingers but it's not offensive to your own nose. Very simple, fresh and sweet, slightly powdery metallic scent, sometimes to me it leans on blood, but not always, i guess it depends on my perspiration. This feels like wearing very fresh powdery cotton clothes while leaning against a metal bannister with your hands, (maybe even cutting yourself a bit on the way, a drop of blood soaking that fresh shirt).

I have Ganymede, As i smelled the bottle spray i immediately understood it's Ganymede kind of dupe, you can not be mistake, i was in shock cause it's first time i run into "Ganymede like" perfume. Pitty, cause it is so unique. It feels different on skin, Ganymede has sharper notes and incredible longevity. I would consider it as nice perfume unless i knew it copies something else.

This is NOT Ganymede! It lacks the depth and masculinity of Ganymede. If anything thing it leans closer to Bois Imperial, but even then, it’s not quite that either. It’s quite pleasant and has that quirky metallic vibe that they both have, but feels airy. To sum it up I would call this Bois Imperial Light or Ganymede for Her

Wore it to work couple of days ago, people seem to react to it, I dont know. For me it leans more on a feminine side, especially in the opening. And I agree with a review below, drydown is a lot like baccarat rouge

Maybe it's my skin, but after the opening which I find quite nice, all I smell is a salty/ drenched in sweat stone baking in the sun (same dirty drydown as Red temptation aka Baccarat Rouge). I just can't.

It’s beautiful - nowhere listed but this smells violets to me after some minutes Opens fresh and “metallic” and the develops into sweet floral violets. Love it

It’s a totally unisex perfume. Very fresh, metallic and mineral smelling, could be a great freshie in the summer.
