Golden Chai

Not a safe blind buy unless you really like Chai , but a very well done fragrance. A big step up from mostly floral and soft gourmand perfumes they usually put out. This line actually has a concept and it’s done greatly. Also the presentation and packaging are really good. I am impressed. It has been a long time since Zara did something so cool. This is a really cool and good chai perfume. It’s not to sweet or to spicy, it’s right in the middle to be pleasant. I tried Baruti Chai, it was to heavy and spicy for me, but this one is what I was looking for.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I haven't been so enthusiastic about a perfume for a long time now. This could easily be a niche scent and not Zara. It's spicy yet airy, so cozy yet sophisticated. It opens smooth and spicy, it remains smooth and like a magical bubble of comfort. For sure a scent for cooler weather, or a summer night in a forest. Can't wait to wear it more and layer it too!

This is photorealistic chai milk! It’s crazy! I really didn’t plan to like this but I actually so want to have this one.... It starts with milky cardamom turmeric and sweet cinnamon. And fades into a beautiful spicy milk (cardamom gets less strong which is good bc it’s very overpowering at the start). -M206

Очень уютный и расслабляющий парфюм, держится на удивление долго на коже и еще дольше на волосах. Про чай со вкусняшками, про отдых и восстановление сил. Не душит даже летом в 35 градусов. За свои деньги весьма достойный аромат уровня ниши.

I don’t understand the people that say this is not sweet...I can smell syrupy spices upon first spray, quite realistic like opening a chai latte powder can. Not overwhelming and quite good if you like cinnamon fragrances. Ideal for autumn

Despite being a cheap perfume this doesn't have that alcohol smell upon spritz, very deliciously spicy and sweet without suffocating .this is a realistic chai latte smell. For this price point its amazing and quite long lasting too.

What a beautiful and unique perfume. Its worming and cozy ..kind of reminds me of Christmas,and it layers well with other perfumes like rice milk by golf orchard and khamra by lataffa. Totally unisex. Its absolutely beautiful!

I really like it , I do get a chai latte from this on me . To my nose I do think it’s one of the better fragrances Zara has done

One thing that I have to say is that all three of these fragrances from this line that I’ve tried, none of them give me the feeling of the desert. None of them are really bold, or give me these specific notes that give me that feeling. But maybe they were supposed to be that way, and their inspiration was just taken from the hospitality of the Middle East. That’s kind of what I interpret from this. Honestly, the thought that I immediately got from smelling it on the tester strip – and this is a very niche reference – but to me it smelled like walking into a Dille & Kamille shop, probably because of the tea and the spices. I immediately liked the thought of a fragrance like that, and I figured it would be very wearable for office environments too. Then when I sprayed it on skin, in the very first instance, to me, it kind of smelled like when you’re in the garden center, and specifically in the section where they have the animal products, like the hay and the food. That thought kind of put me off, because I personally don’t want to smell like that. Luckily, that opening disappeared very quickly. I can say that out of the three that I bought from this collection, it’s the most unique. It’s just the question if this is the kind of fragrance that you would want to wear.

I have this on my wrist - 2 hours in the photorealistic chai effect has faded a bit but the chai is still chai-ing! Cardamom, honey, a pronounced lactonic note - it smells like an authentic Indian chai to me - it's delicious honestly. However, I bought Amber Affogato today (same new line - Scents of the Desert) as I can see myself tiring of a chai perfume and it's maybe a bit young for me. Affogato is more nuanced and interesting. Also, Jordi Gonzalez of Blue Talisman fame for under 30€ for 100ml, pressurised spray and attractive bottle, you can't go wrong. To summarise, Golden Chai: Unisex, photorealistic spicy milky chai - very nice, well priced, maybe for a young man.

Love it as soon as i spray but it turns into a skin scent very quickly. Its not very sweet, it leans on the spices. Could as well be called Golden Curry. I don't mind it personally, i like it.

Call me crazy but to me it shares a similar drydown with 909 or Evening Safari Drive

Not a sweet chai latte, it leans more unisex. Personally i was put off by the spice's blend because the cardamom is quite prominent.

I wish I could spend more time with it before I bought it. In another word, I regret I bought it. Upon spraying it's a spiced diluted honey water, cardamom standing out, but the honey quickly turns sour on me, and what remain on my skin is an intimate, sour scent( I wouldn't call it a perfume) with cardamom in it. Definitely not something I enjoy wearing, despite it's weak projection. I don't detect any tea note, or it's in any way resemble the chai tea. Not a safe blind buy and, should you try it in store, be sure to have enough skin testing time with it.

I swear it smells exactly like ramen. I love the smell of ramen, but it's not on me.

I love a spice perfume. Did I realise that I tend to love a sweet spice perfume? Not until now. There are facets that make this almost curry like and it’s missing something that would help it feel more wearable. I love Baruti perfumes, including their Chai, this is in the ball park but far more rudimentary and a bit clunky with notes standing out here and there. On its own it’s too unsweetened food like. It has a green cardamom that sort of hangs there, without a strong enough woody base. So, I sprayed some lactonic/woody fragrance over it and it helped. I did not get the milk perfume in this Zara release because I think it’s easy to get that wrong, for all of its apparent simplicity. I’m guessing it layers with that, to soft land some of the spice that reads veering food like when worn alone. This could be so so much better. Anyone looking for a dry spice chai should got with Baruti. Anyone looking for a sweet chai should go with Lush Tumeric Latte. My partner tried it and said he-did not get spices as much as a plastic chemical smell, he’s not into fragrance in a big way so I trust his read as being an honest first take. I know I will end up not using this. I don’t think it’s my job to find the missing bit of a fragrance. I will end up passing it on. Zara, as with the world, are raising prices and this is not a safe mail order blind buy for anyone tempted by the idea of a Chai on the cheap. I have and love Blue Talisman but the perfumer did not ace this one. Try before you buy for sure, oh and wear it a while too.

OK so this does have a savoury note which is why some people say this smells like a kebab stand? But overall it's sweet, spicy and a bit fruity fragrance where the savoury note only plays a supporting role. I don't get a lot of sandalwood. Quite a unique fragrance to my nose. It might sound super cliche but it is kind of niche on a budget fragrance. Unisex, leans a bit feminine.

I love a chai note, and I already have another perfume with a strong chai scent, so this one complements it perfectly. I was pretty sure it would be one of my favorites out of the four. On my skin it stayed quite linear though and didn’t change much over time, but it’s still a great spicy perfume.

Such a realistic milky chai smell, the honey really sweetens it up but theres such a lovely lingering spice to it, the cardamom is really prevalent in the first spray, it kind of reminds me of a sweeter version of stora skuggans moonmilk!
