Hypnotic Vanilla & Woods

As a perfume enjoyer, this is the first time I go to Zara female perfumes selection. I already own quite a lot of perfumes, designer ones with niche ones and even dupes. So as a man who loves perfumery and really thinks that quality can be affordable (300 euros for a juice is a SCAM to be honest, you only pay the branding), I quite enjoy some creations from Zara by the way (VL Line, SOTRSD, SDAS, etc...). With mother’s day approaching, I was looking for a perfume at the female corner and found this gem. To me, the notes listed are clearly not the only ones and despite a really enjoyable vanilla and some leather accord in the drydown, I can smell some floral bouquet accord in the top notes, such as Lily of the valley blended with a really citrusy, fresh rose. I find this perfume to really evolve on my skin, in the drydown it really goes in what in indicates, some pleasant vanilla, woody notes with this quite discreet leather accord. This is really were this fragrance turns masculine, at least to my nose. There is also this creamy sandalwood (the perfumes contains itself natural sandalwood essential oil) that remains on the drydown which ad a real comforting feeling to it. The drydown is probably the best part about it, unsugary vanilla blended with this creamy sandalwood and a touch of leather. Absolutely gorgeous. The only downside of this perfume is the longevity and sillage, as an extrait de parfum, this is just an absolute unoffensive skin scent from the start to the end, almost 0 projection and it is such a shame. But even with that problem, I still find that I enjoy wearing a perfume just for myself, and this one is, on all points (especially the fact that it is a female perfume worn by a man), the définition of why I love perfumes so much. A pleasant, very natural (I can barely feel any synthetic notes in it), conforting smell that suits me well. This perfume, for me, is an affirmation of chill power. Edit : after almost a year of maceration, this has got way stronger, it now fills a room when I spray it and people around me notice when I wear it now. Someone told me it reminded him of Hypnotic Poison by Dior

very faint, barely noticeable, weak, and doesnt last. But still an extract.. Please consider my review, i went and blind bought cause there were none Edit ; Nonetheless amazing smell it has, very original and if you OVERSPRAY you get convenient performance. Addictive leather

Hypnotic Poison made even more masculine than in case of Hypnotic Vanilla. Less sweet too (probably gonna get denser with maceration, it's a new frag). Love it! Still unisex though. Sebastian from ThePerfumeGuy got nose-blinded in his review for sure 😁

Such a shame zara discontinued ; def overpriced at its release. But with hypnotic vanilla orange blossom (which they kept), they were the best scents of the released line.

I bought this one on sale, which is kind of surprising that it’s already on sale, months after launching, because I like the Hypnotic Vanilla DNA, and I’ve been enjoying leather fragrances. So I figured, why not now. Especially seeing as the “Hypnotic Vanilla & Patchouli” hadn’t disappointed me. One thing that I’m at least happy to see is that the cap isn’t dysfunctional the way it was with the Patchouli extrait. That’s a plus at least. I do like the bottles and the way they look. First spraying it on the tester, all I smell is Hypnotic Vanilla. Not a variation of it, or at least nothing being different enough that’s weird pointing out the difference. First time I’m wearing, the initial spray, I still feel the same: it’s like the same kind of a more simplified version of Hypnotic Vanilla to me. Less mossy and less complicated. Pretty subdued, not a huge projector. After eight hours, it’s still there, but as a skin scent. Unfortunately I don’t get any leather, and only very light touches of the amberwood. Not worth it if you already have Hypnotic Vanilla.
