Matcha Mochi

I like very gourmand scents so this one seems more fresh to me. Very girly, fruity at first. When it dries down it smells like white chocolate to me. I wouldn’t say it smells like matcha, but it has some earthy and lactonic notes for sure. Not sure why this one gets this much hate. I love it.

I agree with other reviewers, it's nice and fruity but I would not call it matcha mochi, there is no matcha or any rice note. I was expecting/hoping, from the name only (my fault for not checking Fragrantica first!), for this perfume to be the matcha version of D'Annam Strawberry Mochi, which has this very realistic and well-made mochi note behind the strawberry. Also it might be of interest to note that Matcha Mochi does not last as long as its sister Bubble Waffle from the same range. I spritzed (spratz? sprutz?) 3 sprays on my forearm at the same time, Bubble Waffle is still going strong after 8 hours, Matcha Mochi has vanished. But it is unsurprising, seeing it's an eau de toilette. Don't get me wrong it's still a nice fruity gourmand, but it does not deliver what it claims to be. It's a bargain at £9.99 so it's pretty safe to blind buy. Who knows, it might even improve with maceration!

Matcha ? Where? Does match knows it's in this perfume. In my opinion matcha- the powder smells like balloon, but anyway. It's sweet in some smokey way? It's like sweet smell and far away there is someone who is starting to do a fire more like in the mountain, not a beach.

the tester in store ran dry but i'd been curious about this one and blind bought it given its super affordable price point. it's not really matcha, definitely sweet- maybe the pear?- although even that is a bit more synthetic. i think the white choc rounds it off quite nicely. more of a gourmand scent, which is not my cup of tea, but this one is not too offensive longevity... is zara. for now i'm using it as a home scent (perfumes i only spray on myself when i have a whole day planned at home haha). it's literally on me right now.

Amberwoody lite for kids. Feels nice, fresh n light at first then it just seems to get stronger n thicker til it feels vaguely threatening. I really don't like these things that have more presence the longer they go on, it's weird. It's like entering a fairytale where the wicked witch makes the wood grow back thicker every time you cut it until you can't get out.

Unpopular but it smells very matcha to me, i get the white chocolate note too but it’s definitely on the fresher and greener side, and i personally dont get any fruit it’s just sweetish matcha to me

I was so hopeful it would at least remind me of the discontinued MM Replica Matcha Meditation, but if you're looking for that scent, this is definitely the wrong choice. The dry down is straight up cheap hand cream or generic lotion. I don't see why it's in the kids section, there's no playfulness, no pear, no white chocolate and surely no matcha. I know it would've been a miracle but I'm still so so sad.

Absolutely disappointing. The cheapness of Zara perfume is evident here. Very weak scented water vaguely smelling like pear, and something slightly sugary but NO white chocolate or matcha.

Libre layered with green tea, which is not my cuppa tea. I could feel it on my skin for 6 hours

Such a huge disappointment. I blindly bought it and I don't get any matcha from it. Instead I can smell some type of green/white generic floral. White chocolate and pear I can maybe smell later on once its been on the skin for a while, but honestly it's pretty faint to my nose, as the floral just overpowers. It's perhaps not a bad scent if you are into florals, but when you call a perfume 'matcha motchi' you naturally expect it to smell like matcha in at least some capacity, which this perfume fails to do. On top of everything, the longevity is non-existent.

I was expecting the sweetness of the white chocolate to be somewhat balanced out by the bitterness and greenness of matcha, but the matcha note is nowhere to be found. I also think the pear note, (which I would've never guessed is supposed to be pear) is too overpowering, and quite unpleasant. Very disappointing, even at its low price point. Would not recommend.

Unpopular opinion... I like this one. I stumbled across a recommendation on perfumetok and less than 24 hours later, I was buying this fragrance and a sister scent from the same collection (Lemon Pie). I have been on a journey to find the best matcha perfumes for a while now and this one did not disappoint. It’s a fun, powdery, vaguely fruity and fresh take on a popular scent profile. This smells like kids shampoo in the best way—and faint memories of eating white chocolate on special holidays. I think it’s important to remember that this is an eau de toilette geared towards children—that’s why it’s so cheap ($15 USD) and lacks the level of projection that some may have expected. I don’t think that makes it a bad fragrance. You do get what you pay for so don’t expect a perfect dupe of Matcha Meditation or any other high-quality matcha scent at this price! If you’re looking for a better performance in a Zara perfume, stick to their eau de parfum collections as they’re still very reasonably priced and do a great job of duping high quality brands. All that said, I actually really enjoy this one. It lingers on the skin remarkably well. I think Matcha Mochi is an easy-going, fresh, non-offensive fragrance that’s a perfect layering piece for smelling like a gorgeous sweet treat. Not bad at all for $15 USD!

Since this is a fragrance for children, I'll try to imagine if little me would have liked it. I can definitely see me spraying it on my butterfly plushie and sneaking out after bedtime to go on an walk. On an April evening, the sun is still out but it's getting colder way faster than I expected so I sneak back in and watch the trees outside of my window getting darker and darker until I fall asleep. There's something green in it, there's something sweet in it, there might be a bit of vanilla in the background and it is very shyly saying 'spring' to me. The notes mix so well together that they're hard to distinguish and (like lemon pie from the same line) it's almost completely linear. It still smells nice to me so I'll probably use it as a room spray.

Unfortunately I blind bought this and I’m disappointed. It’s sweet for sure, I get sweet pear and white chocolate in the most synthetic and generic way possible. Zero matcha. As it dries the white chocolate is gone, and you’re left with a sweet generic fruity smell that’s hard to distinguish. The pear is completely gone. It’s not as sweet as the opening but still sweet. I wouldn’t recommend. Not even for a child. Again, Zero matcha or anything green.

I went out of my way to smell a tester in store. Top notes I agree that pear is the most prominent scent but didn’t get the white chocolate until later. No matcha to be found. Smells more like your typical feminine sugary bakery than anything tea related. Also, the perfume stung my skin a bit.

Consumerism can get a little out of hand sometimes and we may forget that we are discussing about a scent designed for little ones in EDT form as if we are discussing about niche scent in EDP or parfum form :)
