Solar Edition

Opens with a juicy mango blast that feels like pure sunshine—then quickly melts into a creamy sandalwood-caramel drydown that clings to the skin like silk. There’s a subtle nuttiness in the base that reminds me of JPG’s Scandal Absolu, giving it a warm, addictive, almost edible vibe. Sexy, smooth, and surprisingly sensual for a Zara fragrance. Hard to stop smelling yourself!

Don’t think this is a dupe of anything. A sweet woody fruity mango scent doing its own thing. I probably give it a 8/10 for its value. Just bring along a decant and it’s good enough for the day.

For Him Solar Edition, the bright yellow color of the bottle already suggests that mango is the main character here, which is meant to bring energetic tropical vibe. The opening is a mango blast, sweet and juicy, slight tart. In the first few minutes it is fresh and clean, full of tropical vibe. In an instant the creamy sandalwood gets noticeable. It gets nutty and slightly powdery to my nose. Personally, I cannot help but think of the dessert made of mango and coconut milk. Some people might say it smells synthetic. I cannot say it is not true. However, considering the price, I would still call it pleasant. I truly appreciate how it develops on my skin, as it gets sweeter but also somewhat greener. By "green" I don't mean the smell of an unripe green mango. I am referring more to this fresh bitter smell of green plants. For a moment it reminds me of olive, or even olive soap. Either way, I am surprised how clean and fresh it remains in spite of the sweetness. In the drydown you get mainly the tonka bean and sandalwood, sweet and creamy. I do think it borders on body lotion or sunscreen. I would not mind having body lotion of the same scent. Both sillage and longevity are fine. It is gentle and pleasant, not overly sweet. It is an office suitable perfume.

As others have mentioned, the notes displayed here *were* incorrect. But if Zara can’t get them right on their own website, what can we expect of Fragrantica? 🤷🏾♂️ The box of the fragrance highlights notes of mango, sandalwood, and tonka bean. Reading the details of the ingredients also shows a healthy dose of various citrus oils, rose oxide, vanillin, and Iso E Super, so if you’re sensitive to that last aromachemical, approach with caution. For what it costs (23€) it doesn’t have any right to be as good as it is. You mostly get what it says on the box, albeit aided by the velvety, cedar-like hum of Iso E Super beneath it all. I bought it instantly after trying it and have no regrets. Longevity is solid for me (roughly 2-3 hours of quietly radiant projection but not in an obnoxious way - before settling to a skin scent) but naturally, your mileage may vary.

The notes ARE NOT CORRECT !! the correct ones are:Mango SandalWood Tonka Bean for me this is a perfect fragrance for layering other to sweet perfumes.its the perfect combination between wood and citrus. it starts with a sweet but baby mango and then it goes into a woody with a slight scent of barely noticeable but beautiful mango. after 13 hours the smell remains the same but the mango is more noticeable. The longevity is PERFECT i mean ive smelt 200 dollars +perfumes that last 10 minutes and then completely gone!!BUT the sillage is completely ass. Overall:8.5/10 just for the very big wood smell and for the sillage.

Very good and well balanced with the sandalwood. Maybe more masculine medium persistence...I layer it with Solar Mango...they complement each other.

Just walked out of Zara and I’m sorry, whoever is saying this smells like Solar mango also from Zara is lying. For Him Solar Edition is a way more ambery, almost Smokey, and woody take on a mango. No juiciness, no ripe mango. as it evolves, the mango note takes a definite back seat and gives place to a typical manly sandalwood scent. It’s almost as if you took a generic sandalwood manly fragrance and added a very light splash of mango to the opening only. To my nose, rather cheap smelling, and nothing to rave about.

he opening is indeed a very citrusy mango. But not to the point of giving you the same feeling as a typical citrus fragrance — not at all. In fact, it never loses its sweetness. Then, as it dries down, you get a blend of mango and sandalwood. It’s a really nice fragrance. It smells like a mango shampoo, but better. It works perfectly in a casual or semi-casual setting — it’s 100% suited for a casual summer night. But put too much and be aware that you'd have to shower to take that scent away from you.

Notes are wrong, this is a tropical mango scent that reminds me of God of Fire. Of course, it is much more synthetic and toned down designer level and performance could have been better but still it is a good and cheap fruity summer pick.

I hope someone at Fragrantica is embarrassed by just reprinting the error ridden Zara press release on solar and Green Edition of For Him. Someone should have read the smaller descriptive to give us the actual notes used in each...
