Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes Intense

This might be the best Zara perfume ever in terms of projection and longevity. It’s an amazing soapy citrus fragrance, and it could also be the highest-performing perfume in this category, not just among Zara’s offerings. The opening isn’t its best part, as the citrus notes are more dominant than the soapiness at first. But after about an hour, as it starts to become soapy, it transforms into an incredibly beautiful scent. Apart from this transition, it’s actually quite linear and stays consistent. I spray 6-7 times and easily get 10+ hours of longevity. As someone who uses Sauvage Elixir, a fragrance you know can be described as nuclear, I can confidently say this performs at the same level. Zara discontinues many of its perfumes within one or two seasons. With that concern in mind, I purchased two backup bottles in addition to the one I already have. However, I hope Zara makes this perfume a permanent part of their collection, like Vibrant Leather. In my opinion, it deserves it even more. Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes Intense is a Zara redux clone of LV Imagination. I just received this fragrance delivery so still need time to play around with it, but my first impressions are that the original Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes (the non-Intense version) is a little closer in scent profile to Imagination. It's brigher than this Intense version. I currently have this cologne sprayed on one arm and Imagination sprayed on the other, and I can tell the differences but, I admit, they are not pronounced. Both are citrus fragrances, but Imagination you can just tell is more sophisticated than any dupe on the market could ever be. At first sniff, you will think, "Orange lemon." But there is an ever-so-slight florality to LV Imagination that makes it stand apart. I think it's the Tunisian neroli, which Fragrantica says could have some honeysuckle scent to it. Sunrise Intense, like the other dupes I've smelled, is just straight up citrus. I've become nose blind at this point, but my wife says this Zara dupe is sweeter than Imagination. From what I've gathered so far, this fragrance also does not perform as well as Imagination. It's been less than an hour since I've sprayed my arms and Imagination still smells as distinct as it did in the opening. Sunrise Intense, on the other hand, is already starting to reduce to skin scent and smells more muddled and mashed together, rendering its notes indistinct. Really, I just smell orange. And I've sprayed on two layers of this Zara fragrance. Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes Intense is an admirable dupe but isn't perfect. If it performed better, it would be great.

Brilliant scent with excellent performance. This proves that great perfumery doesn't necessarily need to cost the earth! Yes it's reminiscent of far more expensive and illustrious offerings but this will hold its own in any company. I'm not going to exclaim that it's as refined or nuanced, that's for the individual to decide when weighing up the scent, performance and prices as an overall package! I wear it to the gym on rotation and enjoy it anytime I want a long lasting, slightly smug, enjoyable, happy scent blast! It'll project way out of your personal bubble for quite a few hours, but never encroaching or suffocating. It'll last 6-8 hours easily, never really becomes a basic skin scent until the following morning on me! It stays on garments until they are washed.....and beyond! Just wear this at any age and gender, at any time anywhere you like and enjoy it! I really don't care about prestige or price, what interests me is great quality fragrance that does the job and makes me smile, this stuff does that in abundance. £25 GBP (I think ) at your local Zara or online, do yourself a huge favour, save yourself a lot of money and just buy it.....if you like the LV-ish profile of course! Right, I'll be writing a review of Fashionably London elixir at some point too. As soon as the thermometer drops a little and I've had a few more wears to just get the full picture! But I'll say right now that this stuff is just as unbelievable too, not sure what they are on at Zara but bloody hell, they are producing some great stuff at extraordinarily reasonable prices!

Picked this up for £25, which is absolute peanuts for 100ml. If I had to describe it in a few words, it would be an extremely fresh and clean, luxuriously soapy lemon sherbet. It’s unbelievably smooth and airy for a citrus focused scent, there’s no element of harshness whatsoever as the bergamot and mandarin are so soft and sparkly. It’s described as a male scent but I would consider it pretty unisex, a woman could easily pull this off and I for one would be very happy to smell this on a woman. The performance is above average, I get around 6 hours out of it with good silage. I sprayed it around 2 hours before going to the shop and the cashier told me I smelled really nice, and she was over an arm’s length away in distance (first and only compliment I’ve received from a stranger btw). This is one of those fragrances where I think it’s impossible to overspray due to how light it is, there’s an understated subtlety at play here despite its good performance which makes it perfect for professional environments. I had a job interview recently and this was such an easy pick that I didn’t even consider anything else from my collection, it’s just that safe. It’s what a lot of people might deride as “linear”; as in it stays consistent throughout, which is something I personally consider a positive. It gets to the good bit immediately and doesn’t deviate from that course, I fail to see how that’s a negative. I’d give it a 9/10. This punches stratospherically above its own weight.

This is pretty fire. The opening has a realistic lemon that's tart and feels more like a candied lemon... It's interesting to say the least. The best part is how this fragrance transforms. It opens up as a thick bright lemon that's almost sour. Guess what... Then it turns into Bleu de Chanel/Tygar mixed type of DNA and I never would of guessed that before smelling this. If you smelled those you'll know what I mean it's very distinctive. it's not completely exact, but its in the same vein as that minus the incense that you see in BDC. For $35 this is a steal... wear it in the summer and wear it during the day in my opinion it will shine best that way. I have not smelled the first one but I suspect this is a more potent version of that hence "intense". But this is beautiful! and should be praised. I would definitely grab a bottle in case this becomes harder to find. This scent is really appealing and welcoming. It can be versatile and I think everyone would enjoy it I also find it to be perfectly unisex it might even lean slightly feminine to my nose. For me the only draw back is the opening and the powerful lemon drop that's pretty aggressive (you might like that) after it dissipates lets say 5 minutes---it's delightful as it settles. I would just blind buy it for the price if you like lite citrus aromatic fragrances you will enjoy this, and again for the price it's an absolute steal. 9/10
