Sweet Illusion (Into The Gourmand)

To me, this smells exactly like Supreme Vanilla. Tested SV one day and left without purchasing as I wanted to do more research. Kept smelling my arm thinking 'I should have bought it!' Coco Pebz reviewed Sweet Illusion and said that it was the exact same as Supreme Vanilla, but re-bottled!! (IYKYK Coco Pebz knows what she's talking about re: Zara Scents!) Next visit to Zara I noticed Sweet Illusion was on sale so I sprayed Sweet Illusion on my wrist and SV on the top of my hand. Walked around Zara smelling both sides of my hand... THEY'RE THE EXACT SAME. Only Sweet Illusion was on sale and 100ml!!! Grabbed myself a bottle and felt like a winner! Love it so much bought another 2 backups when they went on sale for $17.99 cnd! As for the smell, starts off smelling sort of like uncooked rice with vanilla in the background, that must be the ink note-at first it was weird but didn't take long to grow on me. Dries down to a beautiful smokey and woody sweet, cupcake vanilla. This one is definitely for the Vanilla Girlies! ❤️

To me, this is the best vanilla perfume I've ever smelt. It's incredibly warm and comforting. Sweet, but not overpowering. Like biting into a vanilla cake you've been craving and just hits the spot, more than you know. I always get compliments when I wear this. At work, at the bar, from people working in a shop, they will always ask what I'm wearing. If you're a smart cookie, you know that this is a fantastic perfume to layer with. Fancy smelling of a salty, sea breeze vanilla? Layer it with so...? uniques Marine body mist. Want more vanilla sweetness with some pineapple, layer with so...? Uniques vanilla candy. Want a creamy coconut? Layer with Coco extreme. The list does really go on. It's just that perfect base perfume to layer as your heart desires. Unfortunately, it's been discontinued. I hope Zara brings it back.

This is not an EXACT copy of Supreme Vanilla but it is very close. This is a woody vanilla, it reminds me of Vanilla Woods (just like Supreme Vanilla did) and I even get reminded of COMMODITY Milk Bold too with the woody note with vanilla + tonka. This is well worth the $15 I paid for it (100ml). It gives a small scent bubble. I can smell it on myself but I do overspray it also, which I don't mind at this price. My bottle of Supreme Vanilla was running low and I wanted a back-up so figured I'd try this. Happy to have both in my collection because I love vanillas, and I love woody vanillas. This is more unisex leaning because of the woody facets. It smells more niche than designer.

Smells like horse feed (imo, also a bit of ink in there) on me at first spray, but dries into a really nice sweet vanilla scent, easy to get and affordable. Can't stop smelling it, love it a lot :D Edit I bought a sample of bianco latte and this perfume is a more fruity and ozonic version of it, otherwise similar but definitely not a match compared to what my brain was telling me after first spray lol

@Dominatoarea It is very close to Supreme Vanilla, however SV has a bit more prominent ink accord and has more animalic undertones as well. Sweet Illusion is a bit more vanilla-sugary... SV has better sillage I guess. Hope it helps.

I love this one. Very similar to Supreme Vanilla but they have slight differences. Great sweet, sugary, aromatic inky vanilla scent. The packaging of this line is cheap as hell...

Zara has done it again. The brand often releases new fragrances in new packaging and under a new name that it already had on offer. This time it's more fun because it offers two identical fragrances at the same time. Sweet Illusion is nothing more than Supreme Vanilla poured into the new bottle. These are identical fragrances, even the notes and descriptions are the same. So I won't focus on the description of the scent because I will do it during the review of Supreme Vanilla. I don't feel any differences in these compositions. In short, we have an extractive, cozy vanilla with the addition of an interesting note of ink. It creates an effect that may be difficult for some people to understand, as we have a nuance reminiscent of an extinguished cigarette in an ashtray. For me, this is an intriguing enrichment of the composition, directing it to somewhat niche areas. I can reassure those who are afraid of smelling like an ashtray full of pets, it doesn't last long. After some time, the inky note fades away and a very pleasant, sweet vanilla dominates until the end. You have to like gourmand scents to appreciate it, vanilla is enriched with slightly burnt sugar and the level of sweetness is high. The cedar softens the sweetness a bit. It is unisex, perhaps with a slight tilt towards women, but as a vanilla fan myself, I have Supreme Vanilla and I think it also smells very intriguing on men's skin. When choosing between Supreme Vanilla and Sweet Illusion, it doesn't matter which one you choose because they smell the same. It's basically a matter of choosing the bottle we like better. Sweet Illusion has one advantage - it is cheaper. For the same price as Supreme Vanilla, we get a larger capacity. For now I have Supreme Vanilla, but I don't rule out buying Sweet Illusion in the future, especially since the parameters are also the same, i.e. good. Edit: After further tests, I find that it is slightly different from Supreme Vanilla. In Sweet Illusion, the ink note is more subtle. There is more emphasis on vanilla and sugar. Moreover, the atomizers in this series are poor, they spit and spray the liquid unevenly. 8/10

I'm truly enjoying Zara's Sweet Illusion. Ever since I've tried YSL "Muse" I was looking for something with that unique ink note (not saying that those are dupes or something). When I first sprayed Sweet Illusion, I was thrilled to find that it somewhat scratched that itch. Weird thing is that there is no ink note listed on Fragrantica for this fragrance, but you can clearly see it on Zara's site description and feel its presence throughout the wear. It adds a beautiful, slightly dark, and edgy depth to the fragrance that elevates it beyond a standard vanilla perfume. Also, Sweet Illusion is essentially a direct copy of Supreme Vanilla. Regardless of the repackaging, I cannot complain because it performs exceptionally well. For such an affordable price point, the longevity is genuinely impressive, lingering beautifully on the skin and clothing for hours. Overall, if you want a long-lasting, unique vanilla with an edgy, inky twist, this is a fantastic and budget-friendly find!

This smells almost exactly like Supreme Vanilla, also by Zara. The notes here do not correspond to the notes listed on the packaging, which includes an ink note. I don't understand at all why a company would release two nearly identical perfumes in the same year. It doesn't make sense! I was in Zara to stock up on Supreme Vanilla as I love it and was running out, when I found Sweet Illusion, on sale for half price, so I bought it instead. I use them interchangeably, there's barely any difference.

I sampled this today. I once had a cocktail that had fancy cotton candy on top which was sprayed with a cedar spray and that is exactly what this perfume smells like! cotton candy and cedar. however, it is very very sickly sweet and a bit too much for me.

Very sweet. An insane amount of vanilla. Pretty. Cloying in my opinion. I think it would be excellent layered with something sharp to cut the sweetness or compliment it, like Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Mandarin or even Zara's Green Apple.

Smells like cigarettes. Not my cup of tea. It honestly could have potential, but the strong smell of cigarettes in the open makes me feel nauseous. After the scent settles down, so after 7-8 hours later, it smell like a beautiful vanilla scent. It’s very troubling how i like it but dislike it at the same time. I wish i could keep it, but after leaving it some time the smell didn’t change. So, i had to sadly give it away.

I bought Sweet Illusion under the presumption that Supreme Vanilla might be discontinued and I wanted to see if this would be a fitting replacement. Although I can definitely smell some similarities, it lacks a lot of depth that SV has. Not to mention SI has a really strong glue like dry down on my skin, I had to wash it off :(

Sampled it at the store. It seemed nice in the bottle and wasn't bad on the skin either at first. But the drydown on me quite literally reeked of cigarette smoke and was very unpleasant.

When i first spreyed, i liked it indeed but after an half an hour i can not stop smelling ash tray. (Like someone smoked 30 cigarette and kept them on the table😒) By the way people around me does not get that cigarette smell. But also no one said i smelled good 😃 I am confused about this perfume.Anyone has the same feeling like me?

I really wanted to like it. The description is just what I like in a perfume. BUT, 5 seconds after spraying, all I smell is a cigarette ash tray. There is a very mild underlying pleasant vanilla note, but very weak. The cigarette stink is too overpowering.

I absolutely love this perfume! The ink note lingers for just a litte moment, then it turns into a yummy vanilla scent. Bought the 30 ml bottle but had to go back the next day for a 80 ml one. I just can't see myself without it. I love pairing it with Prada Candy for some extra little something something.

This is Supreme Vanilla in a different bottle. I don’t know how Zara thinks they can get away with it. I own SV and I love it so if I can’t get my hands on another bottle I’ll go for this. Identical.
